Our unit is right out side of the office which is nice because it can also be seen from the street. I've had storage units for over ten years now and I have to say this public storage is the worst one by far! the new manager Isaiah is rude, unprofessional and has zero compassion! I lost my storage unit and it was auctioned I did not know until the next day when I saw my email. i might be missing some small print but to my knowledge they must send out a certified mail letter to your last know address and they did not! I have lost everything I own including my late fathers belongings as well as every picture I've taken in the last 22 years of my family and 4 kids. Along with there school stuff I've saved there graduation stuff there prom stuff and medals and awards. I was upset and did begin to raise my voice and said the "f" word not directed to the property manager at all but still he said he would hang up on me and when I asked fo a manager he laughed and said he was the manager then I asked for corporate number and he said google it and hung up on me! This facility auctioned my stuff off in a very short time period and did not give proper notice! I will never try to be cheap again and pay $1 for the first month! Uhaul is a little more expensive but much more convienent and compassionate! i do want to mention that the District manager Dawn is trying to help me get my personal items back from the person who won at the auction and she was very compassionate. After using this facility for over 2 1/2 years making our monthly payments on time via my online banking, they started to charge us late charges because someone there wasn't doing their job and processing our checks on time. You have to call a corporate # to get any help, which was none, because even the supervisor wouldn't return our calls. Even after bringing in proof of our withdrawal for payment and a letter from the bank, they still charged us a late charge. We are gone, gone from those idiots who don't know how to run a business and we would discourage anyone from using this costly, unkept, no help storage facility. We found a cleaner, less expensive place in Irvine. read more

Recently Public Storage made the decision to not have the onsite manager (who is wonderful at her job and deserves to work for a better company) actually be on-site as they now send those employees out a few days a week to man a different location where they have probably fired the old on-site manager. So I can no longer make a payment at the facility and there are other service-related inconveniences that this causes. I did not sign up for this when I agreed to rent, however, still after my first year there they jacked my rent up from $305 to $465 over a 35% increase in one year. I just talked to them; I live in Los Gatos California. In this pandemic people have been fleeing the high cost of living as they can now work remotely from any area. Our highways used to be completely congested and now it looks like a ghost town most days. Public Storage is offering two free months rent to new renters; why do they do that? They have excess units to rent. But my rent is now going to go up again to $550 a month soon. They assure me that I am paying below market rent in a market where 90,000 people are not even paying rent under the eviction moratoriums for their over-priced primary residences. Bottom line here people is that this is a business strategy for Public Storage. They get you in at the real cheaper actual market rent and then over a course of two years they raise your rent 100% of your initial agreed payment and they cite market supply and demand as the reason. Don't tell me that people are opting to pay to rent inanimate objects when they cant even pay for their primary residence. And if I am so below market at $460 a month then why are new people getting two months for free and a much lower rate for their unit for the first year? Because Public Storage knows that you are a hostage and that you wont want to rent a truck and get some friends to help you move again in year or two and that your only solution will be to let go of all your personal items or pay them...kind of like a share cropper or a company town. They consider you and your contract with the devil to be their personal property....kind of like a slave would be. If they could get away with hiring child labor to run their sites they would. I bet they wish they were in China. Renting from Public Storage is nothing but a trap and you can expect to pay twice what the market will bear by the end of your second year with them. STAY AWAY!!! read more

I seem to always have a problem with the gate opening when I am coming and going. I always have my bill paid so there really shouldn't be any reason this should happen. Everyone else's codes seem to work perfectly fine. I have been stuck INSIDE several times! The new manager Dale doesnt seem to care at all. I have read back my code to customer service and no one seems to have a solution. Im am vacating this place asap. Ridiculous issue! read more

I just had to comment on how prompt, courteous and helpful Heather was at this Public Storage location. I was having a particularly busy day and she was able to get me set up immediately. Although the weather was hot, she even made the walk for the unit inspection a pleasure. I will definitely use this location again. read more

I have had my unit here for 5 years now, the staff is always very helpful. Always very clean, I show up randomly, night or day and always clean and safe. The staff is always friendly and helpful, when I was trying to figure out a bigger unit they were very knowledgeable of what size I needed for the items that I had. Only two issues that need to be addressed: !. The lights in the hallway turn off if you are in your unit for a long period of time. If there is some way to tap the light so it doesn't go out until you tap it again would be great. 2. the keys pads on the gate and elevators do not work very well. I think it is time to update them. read more

Only keep your things here if you don't mind them being stolen! I had a storage unit filled with my stuff while transitioning from one home to another. I rented a space for a couple months when I got a call that they found my lock on the floor and I needed to come look and see if anything was missing. Well almost all of my things were missing. I lost almost everything I had. When I rented the space I was under the imprecision that they had some sort of security. Well they don't. They have one camera in each elevator, one on the store and one on the gate. No cameras covering the stairs at all. The back door leading to the stairs doesn't stay shut and the pedestrian gate lock doesn't work either. If anyone wants to steal your things they just simply need to walk into the building and pick the lock. The staff only checks once in the morning around 9am and once at night around closing. The thief can take their sweet time stealing all of your things. The police said an officer is there all the time because they have so many break ins. He said there is no way he would keep his possessions at that location. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

The worst and most disappointing of experiences. that I had in the storage rental. I went to rent a space on August 28. because I would do it on the 16th or 16th of September and he attended me. A woman named Sherry. and a manager I told them and they told me there was no problem with early rent. and that my rent would start on the 1st of the following month. I paid them. But there were three days in advance of the month of August. So they wanted to charge me between 30 and 50 dollars extra, I told them then. I would return on September 1 and rent. to which two said there was no problem. and that you would not have to pay for those days. Since my contract. September began. I paid and received my contract. Everything seemed normal. Until I introduced myself. To pay my month of October. The muner of color I noticed that I owed him 15p dollars more. for the three days of August. More interest and surcharges. I reminded him of what we had spoken on that day. and told me he didn't care about that. That was what I owed and had to pay and I canceled my access to storage. I told him that I would talk to a boss about her. Because they were making me fraud. That was a scam. premeditated he answered laughing and making fun of me. Talk to who. I wanted to. Maybe one day they'll answer me. I had to talk to her. only her . So my partner returned, I talked to someone and they told him that I would have to pay for the days. to what he accessed and paid and released access. 24 hours Later, Sherry said I was at least 6 more times. to tell me that I owed him another 100 dollars of interest for the previous 3 days. and that if I didn't cancel my access again. which he did. How can you now believe and trust those who lie to you? If my partner spoke with a manager. and they never granted him any answer. How can you recommend a place where they lie to you? They steal and cheat. be careful with these places and especially this one of the collins in orange. read more

Just like other reviewers said...horrible service, tons of hidden fees, rude, dishonest, employees. When trying to resolve any customer service issues, you will not get any help, understanding, or empathy from the corporate office. So, when this Collins location pulls a dishonest "bait and switch" on you, or charges you for things that you never agreed to, DO NOT expect Public Storage corporate office to have your back...they do not care about you. They are cold and greedy, and they do not honor their online reservations. Even if you lock in on a rate and hold the space, if someone else wants your reserved unit before your moving date, they will give it to them. Then they will try to rent you a larger, more expensive unit that you don't need. They have a very different definition of the word "reservation" than the dictionary. Save yourself the the time, money, and sanity...go with a private company that will treat you more like a human whose business they cherish. I went with All-Size Storage in Yorba Linda, they don't force you to buy their lock, nor do they force you to purchase their insurance...they listen to your needs. I will only do business with honest people. I hate giving money to companies like this Collins Public Storage company, it only rewards and reinforces their rude and dishonest behavior. read more

Inadequate facility (elevator broken), property manager/local staff powerless to make reasonable decisions and unresponsive upper management add up to a frustrating and costly experience. Moved my mom's (mostly) furniture to second floor unit. Attempted to vacate end of January 2019 and learned the elevator was broken (worker said it was broken for 4 months; my brother confirmed it was broken at least since December). No definite repair date goal. Coordinated with a veteran volunteer & veterans organization to donate and pick up items 2 weeks later. Elevator still broken. Rescheduled another 2 weeks later. Elevator still broken. With no apparent rush to repair elevator, I did not want to continue paying rent so veteran organization attempted to move all items via stairs. They were able to remove all items except an entertainment center. Three calls/email attempts in 8 days to District Manager Tiffany Clifford went ignored. After three calls to Senior District Manager Bilal over 5 more days, he returned my call 02/25 and advised me to destroy the entertainment center but I would be allowed to dispose in their dumpster. Because of work commitments, I had to pay another month's rent so I could dispose on Saturday (March 2). Property Manager called me 02/27/19 to ask about my plans for the entertainment center & move-out plan (although I paid an additional month's rent, it was not showing in her database). This is when I learned the elevator was finally repaired. After making a $150 donation for the initial move, I paid another donation $50 donation to the veteran volunteer on top of another month's rent. Horrible and expensive experience, inadequate facility, & poor management. read more
