So far this place is absolutely awesome! The people on the phones are great! The guys running the actual storage lot are amazing. They ate not only very nice and polite but they helped me load and unload my storage vehicle. They helped me back in and then even back out. The Private Car Storage operation is completely different than anywhere else I've ever stored my vehicles. The Irvine location is very unique because they have a very large client that has dozens of vehicles. Because of this it's almost like they have extra time on their hands and give the rest of their clients unbelievable, Neiman Marcus like service. The customer service here is similar to checking into a Ritz Carlton. Everyone and I mean everyone I have met is absolutely outstanding. I don't know if it's a coincidence that everyone is awesome or perhaps it's the management that really knows what they're doing when they hire and train people. WARNING: THIS GARAGE HAS A RAT PROBLEM! RATS CHEWED THROUGH WIRES CAUSING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE! We've kept our brand new SUV with private car storage for almost a year while we settled in London. The first couple of times we came back to CA there were no issues and everything seemed smooth. During our last trip back to California, we planned on selling my brand new X7 M50i. When we picked the car up we noticed the engine sounded like a lawn mower. We decided to bring it to the BMW dealership straight away and have it checked out. They found that rats had chewed through the wires in the engine and that they would have to remove the engine in order to replace the wiring. Needless to say, we could not sell the car and the damage done was over $6500. We tried to be reasonable and ask private car storage to cover the cost of the repair only. The manager, Stephanie Mui told us that our insurance would cover it and not to worry. Well our insurance will not cover the full cost of the repair and there is a balance of $4500. Not surprisingly, Stephanie has been stringing us along as if she is willing to take responsibility for the damage. It's been 4 months and she's still telling us that she needs to "talk to the board to get approval." We've hired a lawyer and will take them to court for not only the damages done to my car but also for the all the expenses associated with our travel back and fourth to deal with this mess. Needless to say, you cannot trust private car storage with your car. There are plenty of reputable and ethical car storage facilities in the area. The combination of facility, staff, and price was unmatched by anyone else in the area. Stored my Jeep here for a little over three years while living in Japan-it looks and runs exactly the way I left it. Kevin and the crew treated my '67 Camaro like it was their own and he would ask me questions about any quirks or anything special I wanted him to do while caring for it. And I do mean care. They always went above and beyond and made sure my car was clean, covered and charged up and ready to go when I go there. I chose to use PCS because of its relative low cost for outdoor car storage. The valets were courteous. I only had 2 negative experiences in my short stay with them. The first was when I upgraded my service to indoor. I was retroactively charged the upgrade rate for the 1st and last months rent, with no pro-rating, even though it was near month end. Lastly, my car was minor damaged in 2 locations. As I reflected, it dawned on me why they take photos when you give them your property, but they do not take photos when they give you your property. Probably a good business model for them. Anywho, I reported the claim under my insurance. I have no doubt that management was unaware of the damage, but the valet driver(s) had to know. My incident might have been a outlier, but it is certainly a data point. read more

A lot has been said about this great service and I will continue that trend. I kept my 1978 Datsun 280z here for a little over a year while I hunted for a place closer to home in San Francisco. The staff are very accommodating and they took absolutely perfect care of my car while it was there. I had some pretty finicky instructions regarding how to "exercise" engine, and nobody ever gave me so much as a raised eyebrow about it. They also picked me up from the airport the couple times I was in town to visit, and even gave my ride a bath when I came down to drive her away for the last time. I only gave them 4 stars because Yelp won't allow 4.5. There are a couple areas with room for improvement, but not a lot. 1) The webcam setup isn't terribly good. I love the idea, but they need to find someone with a bit more technical acumen to execute that for them. 2) They did move warehouses a short while back....and they did take great care of my car in transit and everything went well...but it was more of a surprise than I would have preferred and left me feeing a bit nervous for a couple weeks while I waited to see my ride settled in her new spot. Updates as important as this warrant actual phone calls. Many people don't find the time to follow up on their email regularly, including yours truly. All in all? I will most definitely take advantage of PCS if I find the need again in the future. I think you will find their staff competent and friendly, and the service excellent too. read more

Not only is the staff completely down to earth and always ready to give you the best service, but the things that they do to go above and beyond just blow me away. Let me give you an example: I left the country for 3 months and needed a place to store my car. Since I elected to keep my car outside, I thought I had purchased a car cover to be used during that time. Upon my return, I had asked about the car cover and they told me that I actually never had ordered one, but because they had an extra one, they used it to cover up my car so the California sun didn't beat down on it without my knowledge. I was so impressed with this, I really didn't know what to say :) What's even better is when I saw my car, I was a bit confused...I went over to the guys working and was like "...so my car actually looks better than it did when I dropped it off. What happened?" That's when they proceeded to tell me that they washed my car and shined the tires so it would look good when I picked it up. Again, more speechlessness. So with all of these things in mind, any time I decide to go on trips or need my car stored somewhere for any length of time, I am going to always come to this place, because it's beyond the beyond when it comes to service, pricing, location, and probably anything else I'm not thinking of when I write this review. Absolutely amazing business! If you are looking for a reasonably priced, yet VERY secure spot for your beloved car, this is the place! The location in Irvine is perfect. I say this from a "safe" perspective. You have to wind yourself around a few roads to get back to a commercial property area - somewhat off the beaten path. And, this is exactly what I liked. Once at the location, it becomes readily apparent that your car will be SAFE. Cameras, secure metal doors, etc. You will feel like you're visiting Fort Knox. The employees who tend to the cars are very friendly and professional. You can tell they love their jobs, and really care about the cars. When you sign up, you are getting a "space" to park. This means you can drive one car there, switch out to the other car, and drive off. When you return, do this switch again. Very nice. If you bring your car cover, the employee PVT (Professional Valet Technician) will gladly put it on and take it off. They will do the same if you provide a battery tender to keep your battery healthy and charged. Also included is a free John Wayne Airport shuttle service. They will take you there, or pick you up. This is a very convenient service, especially if you usually park your car in the airport parking lot... or use Uber. For an additional fee, they will "exercise" your car. They do this by starting it up and letting it run awhile. Very healthy if you plan on keeping the car parked for any length of time. "Stephanie" in administration is very friendly and enthusiastic. These guys run a much-needed service, and run it extremely well. Prices are very reasonable too - less than I expected. They have a location in Pasadena as well, although I haven't visited it. However if you're up that way, you might consider that location if it's more convenient for you. I love this place! FIVE STARS! read more
