Absolutely, not a good start. Questionable sales tactic. If you reserve a unit for a discounted cost and come in to look at the unit first, they will charge you the higher "in-person" rate and will increase it by $20. So what you have to do is look at the unit. Run to the parking lot and then call them over the phone so it's technically over the phone to lock in the rate. What they're trying to do is have you pay for a unit blindly first. They'll offer you "a refund" if you don't like the unit. What have we allowed corporations to do? Dear Lord. Cancelling reservation after reading these other Yelp reviews about break-ins and price hikes. The rigidity of the rep on the phone was already a red flag. I rented here and even though they give you that move in discount , they try to find a way to get that money back . Manager Redd- is a Crook Tried to charge me $200 because the toilet wouldn't flush and there was no toilettes available to us. That's the same amount of discount I got when I moved in $200 I moved in and asked the office to look at the space above that isn't fully caged in . And Redd got mad at me for asking that of him to move me or secure my storage unit that no one next to me can climb into my unit . They did nothing about it , and 1st chance they got told me I had to move out and they don't have to tell me a reason why . I don't violate anything , store illegal items, live there or have anything living or poison in my unit , they cancelled me and only gave me 13 days to move out . I'm seeking legal advice because this was wrong and inconvenience for me to do . I paid on time every month but this manager had it out for me . He wanted to charge me $200 because the toilet wouldn't flush in the building and there was no toilet paper to use I closed the door so no one used the unit I was in there 2 minutes but he claimed I made a mess in the bathroom In 2 minutes time . No paper no trash mirrors not broke but wanted $200 from me ?? For what ? It's not my fault your toilet didn't flush when I urinated inside the toilet bowl . And couldn't flush it . read more

Our storage unit was broken into October 2023 due to the mesh wiring at the top of the unit. There is no actually roof to the unit so if you have a small tool, you are able to gain access to anyone's unit through the top. And once inside the burglars were able to remove our lock and walk out with our items through the roll up door. We contacted the police but there was no follow up from management. They mentioned that six other units were burglarized at the same time as ours using the same method. We were able to move units with no extra fees but after that incident our rent would increase every 4-6 months. Our first months rent were a move in special at approximately $90 for a 10x10 unit. Doubled to $180 after 2 months. Then when we left March 2026, we were paying $320 a month. Other than the convenience of closeness to our apartment, we did not have a good time renting here. read more

Hello I have had a storage here and these people do not open the restroom nor is there any trash cans for anything god forbid you gotta go poop after you move well the restrooms will not be open you will shit yourself literally then they'll record you and tell you Did you use the restroom on the floor well yes yes I did because you people lock the restrooms either the employees are just to lazy to clean it or they just don't care I've never been to a storage facility where there are no trash cans on the property Just don't use a storage here They suck read more

They raise storage rental rates at their own whim and are very inflexible when adjusting them back to a reasonable price. I started at a discounted 75 dollar rate two years ago it increased to 117. then a couple months later increased to 129 then a couple months later 159 and now its up to 179. Their excuse for similar rental rates for the same unit is that they are introductory rates and will increase, they also state that the similar units are online rates reserved for new customers. This business practices bad business and does not value their customers as they say. The workers deflect and say the increases are not in their control and when I email customer care I get a no resolution response. There is no integrity in this business. Now for some of the good. The facility is well maintained and clean and the workers are friendly enough I've never had an issue accessing my unit and it is in a nice area. That sums up the good. The bad is pretty bad. I would give this place a 5 star rating but those price increases are ludicrous. read more

The process was pretty fast and easy. He made me feel secure and comfortable to leave my life belonging ther and trust with it. This place is in a great location. No homeless or no rats. DO NOT RENT in secure space storage unit, they will take advantage of you, my payment was very cheap to get me in, than was up at $356, now is $440, I was supposed to pay the 1st on each month, and I didn't realized that the payment didn't come through, now for the second month they are adding auction fee $150 plus late fee $60, plus my payments total of $1,107. for 2 month. do not rent here. I'm telling you they will charge you and increase their prices after you sign a contract with them. read more

Horrible manager who rides the motorcycle. Control freak and kicked me out for holding the gate for someone who was going to get locked in because she locked her keys in her car. I called AAA and waited for the service and we all took off together. I got evicted but the person who I helped did not. We have been renting here now for about 7 months. We moved storage units as the one we had been with for 7 years had raised the rates a bit too high. We found SecureSpace as it seemed like the pricing was reasonable and a lot better than what we had. Reserving the unit was great/easy. Moving in was great. Very nice facility. We were very happy with it. Then 6 months after we move in, we are hit with a 44% rent increase. Our monthly went from $119 to $172 a month. From what other reviews have mentioned, this seems to be their common practice. They lure you in with a low rate then hit you with a huge increase after 6 months. We are very disappointed to say the least. We had expected smaller, modest, yearly increases....instead it kinda makes me regret renting here seeing this practice. Renter beware. read more

First worker I saw by the elevators was more than welcoming to get me going. Told him I didn't see the lock in the storage that I ordered and he met me out in the parking lot not too long after as I was unloading my stuff and he brought me the lock. Really nice guy. I only wrote a negative review because 1.when I asked the office attendant for a follow up explanation by a manager, on two occasions no one responded to my request. 2. Then I looked at the advertised price for the rental on their website. That price is significantly lower that the prior price. It is also higher than the Public Storage facility next door. I consider this false and deceptive advertising. Their contract allows for them to raise the price every month. Based on Christian E.'s response, I would be very cautious using this facility. My dad and I helped my sister store some personal items at this organization. Paul helped us and was wonderful. He has great customer service, showed us around to various potential storage units, and fully accommodated our needs through our questions, concerns, prices etc. The place modern, clean, and nice and cool with AC, provides dollys for moving heavy items, and has a parking lot right next to the back entrance. Usually storage places are a nightmare but SecureSpace in Brea completely changed my experience! Thank you staff for meeting our needs with over the top quality service! :D read more

Beware of a rate increase with no notice. I have been with this facility for over 5 months and I recently had an issue with my rate. I reviewed a change in rate on my online account without prior notice. I spoke with the site manager Sam about my increase and was advised that I received notice via mail and email. I informed the manager I did not receive any notices and asked for confirmation of my sent email. I was then told that she could only provide a verbal confirmation of my email. I later received a rate increase letter dated the same day regarding my 30-day notice confirmation. I also tried reaching out to customer service twice via email since the company has no direct customer service line for billing. As of today, I have received no response back. I later learned that my new rate is higher than larger units presented on the company's website. This company has a questionable way of conducting business. read more
