But I always got the same response, That we couldnt get our money back until we signed A waiver of our rights, and releasing 'our units' back over to them. BUT, ONE OF Our units was CONFISCATED 'BY THEM'! So, WE refused to sign the doc. Thus, No money was refunded! We Lost our ENTIRE contents in 2 out of 3 10 x 20 storage units that we had stored at this facility. Which was A LIFE CHANGING, 'CATISTROPHIC EVENT' ... FOR US! You book a price online and when you get there they tell you they're not gonna honor that price and you have to pay the regular storage rate which is literally double the price that you booked it for the workers have attitude, inconsiderate and rude. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. I was unable to reserve a unit due to the fire they had a few months ago, completely understandable. However, they continued to charge my card for 2 months after. On a unit I never even got! Made numerous calls but I either got the answering service or was told the manager was not available and I would get a call back. Of course, I never received that call. After a few weeks, i had to actually drive there to speak to them in person to try and resolve the issue. They assured me they would refund both monthly fees. A few days later, one of the refunds came through but I'm still pending another. Called a few times and still getting the runaround from them. Have now filed a dispute with my credit card company. I rented this on short notice. It was a special price on a small unit. I needed to get a lot of things out of my car. I was taking a trip. The storage facility had a fire recently and I was not told that. I was only told after I rented it and then saw the fire damage. The first unit I was given smelled moldy/musty and I said I didn't want it. I wasn't going to put my belongings in a place where all of them would end up absorbing that stench. She quickly said there was one I could have that was 1 or 2 units from the stench filled unit. That one didn't seem to have any smell of mold, so I agreed to take it. I don't like it that I was only briefly told of a recent fire, of course, after I rented the unit and then saw the fire damage. I didn't have any other place to go to because of the time frame. A fire was 'conveniently omitted.' That was misrepresentation and fraudulent, as far as I was concerned. Also; I was told that after two months the rent would go up by $100 plus my 'special' price. I was never told by anyone over the phone about that fact! They get you when you're in the actual office and they know you need a low priced unit ASAP! That being said, I'm going to take my possessions out of there before the price goes up. They definitely try to trick you! I don't like that and I would NOT recommend this storage facility to anyone! They're doing business in a very bad manner by lying and omitting important information. The deceptive tactics they use are abhorrent. The storage is NOT worth the price they want. The floors are partially wooden and I felt like I could fall through them. Also; They close at 6:30! I was told that I'd be locked in and I was hurrying to get my stuff from the elevator all the way down to the storage unit. The woman in the front office was of no help until I had to call another number and then she came in to 'Help' me. She took a few things out and down the hallway to my crappy storage unit. I thought there was an elevator, but it's a lift that you cannot get into yourself! You have to put your stuff in the lift, then push the button and hold it! It's very slow! Then you have to go up the stairs to unload your stuff! I have a Disability right now with my back and it's difficult for me to walk upstairs, let alone be so rushed and upset to know that I'm going to be locked in by 6:30! I asked what happens if I did get locked in. She was very vague on that, etc. I'm thinking if I get locked in I'll have to call 911 because I'm being held hostage in a storage facility! It was ridiculous! Once again, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone! They're lying and it's it's a bad way to do business and I think I read another review just recently that somebody else had experienced the same thing as myself. They get their rental space at a special rate, then raise it to a full, over the top expensive rate! The woman at the front desk was no help. She had a devil make care attitude. In my opinion, she was just plain lazy! She didn't want to help me with my stuff. It's only when she knew it was getting close to closing time and maybe she got a phone call from the people that I called, IDK, that she came to check on me & carried a few lite weight bags to 'Help' me. The idea of being locked into a storage facility is ridiculous! No help for a disabled person whatsoever! No elevator for any people! Oh, the best part? They had a 'Portable Rental Toilet!' I've had a storage unit here for 4 months and they've been ok and straight forward UNTIL today. I just moved from OC to SD so I am not in town very often. I came into town this weekend and wanted to drop some things off to my unit when I saw that there was a lock (that was not mine) on my unit. I called the office 5 times (at 11am) and there was no answer. Knocked on the door for about 5 min with still no answer. The hours for Sunday are supposed to be 9-5pm... I called several more times and then someone from the corporate office answered. I let her know the situation and she was less than apathetic. She said they had called 3 times on 9/28 to let me know my unit got broken into but they were not able to get ahold of me. I asked why there was no voicemail or even email sent to let me know my unit got broken into. She said all she could see were notes and she had no answer but that they put a new lock on my unit since they couldn't get ahold of me. I asked why is there no one in the office and she said there was a scheduling issue and told me to just "stay there until someone came". As I live 2.5 hrs away in San Diego, this was HIGHLY inconvenient. As I tried to ask more questions because I was concerned/wanted more information about the incident, she then proceeded to pretend she couldn't hear me anymore... it was completely ridiculous and unprofessional. I later got a text that there would be someone to arrive in the office on 30 min. That was 45 min ago. I had to call the police and make a police report but they can't do much until i get info of the incident and since no one is in the office, I couldn't do that. They now have to come back and speak to the office tomorrow. I am very upset of the lack of communication, concern and professionalism. I do not recommend this place and as soon as this ordeal is over I will be taking my things elsewhere. Completely ridiculous I've never worked with a worse company. read more

Absolute fast smooth way to get storage. Amazing staff/ manager. Such a clean storage place and very secure with cameras. I feel safe having having our things in this storage. Horrible. 2nd time our unit has been "tampered with". They waited until 4:40 to call us and tell us they had to put their own lock on and we had less than an hour to come look to see if anything was missing before they take off for the holiday weekend! Clean and well-maintained site that's open at convenient hours. The family who owns and manages Placentia Self Storage has been at the helm here for at least 15 years, and that's a good thing, since they're consistently helpful and friendly. And, yes, the monthly "rents" are lower here than at nearly every other storage site. Husband and I have been very happy campers here since 1999. read more

Had our stuff here for a little over 3 years all was fine until the last month, we went to clear out the storage unit with the movers only to find a lock was replaced with one of theirs. I went to the office and the lady looked up that on Jan 13th the maintenance person found it with no lock so they slapped one on there. No call was made to us or voice mail was left either. Supposably they had a "note" that said they called. BS no call was made, nothing can really be done because there's no cameras there to see what happened. Our storage unit had been gone through as things were missing. But again nothing other than file a police report be done and they make a report on there end. Feel this place handlers is wrong, better communication should of been done to solve this. And all the money we spend a camera system should be in all areas of this place. What's the point of the key pad and all that crap if it still gets broken into with no one knowing or being able to do anything! read more

Met with the resident manager as a walk in randomly after searching for storage facilities nearby and very glad that I did! I got an amazing deal and a healthy portion of justice after dealing with bad experiences with storage outlet in Fullerton. So far so good. Arnold is a really cool guy and perfectly reasonable. Great place to store your stuff. I have had my storage space for about one year now and have had 0 incidents of any kind so far. My storage space is on the second floor, but because of the dollies and carts and a built in elevator it's not difficult at all to transport my stuff. Prices are fair. We have been using the storage facility since July of this year. We have had a really good experience, no problems! they have many conveniences like auto pay, and freight elevators. they recently repainted as well, so the place looks great. I used to love this place. The service was amazing. Recently their best staff member left and their service has never been the same. I am going to change my storage unit because of the horrible service. Today we were two minutes after they closed and the man said to me, " I can't let you in because I will get fired." The prices are low and it's a convenient location, and they work with you to find the accessible locker for your needs.
