RUN. Run away from this company/ location and FAST. I rented an overly priced indoor, temperature controlled, room and it was absolutely disgusting. All my belongings are covered in mold and stink. I've used different storage units several times and this was my far my favorite one. The manager, KC, was very helpful with questions during check-in and the process was pretty seamless. They were also helpful and open to unusual requests when I was trying to figure out options for moving out. The whole facility was very clean and well taken care of. I rented a unit with Public Storage to store some items while I finalized a move. One day, I returned to pick some items up and to my disgust, I find rodent droppings and pee all over my belongings. Literally everywhere! This is totally unacceptable as this shows that there is a rodent issue with this location. Also the light to my unit did not work so i had to use my cell phone flash light to see all my stuff. I'm just so disgusted with this place. I now have to throw out my kids toys because I can't bare to think that mouses had ran all over them peeing and pooping over them. I will never ever use this service or recommend it. The customer service is horrible. I moved out of my unit following the instructions they indicated. First of all there was no property manager or any staff on site even though they were say they were open. I tried using the automated service to contact someone so I could follow up and next steps because I wasn't sure why to do next, if I had to turn in the keys/lock. I paid for a full month but moved out on the 11, things of that nature. The automated system is completely useless If you don't have an account. Finally got a hold of a live person and while I'm trying to explain the situation the representative hung up because I wasn't listening to what they said, I did listen I was trying to respond to what they said and ask them when I should do next because the info they sent didn't really explain anything and they hung up! Thanks for the help and making the moving out process so easy and user friendly! If I ever need a storage unit again I will gladly use another service. read more

Until this day, I thought that all storage facilities are the same. You rent a locker, toss your belongings, lock it up, and retrieve them when you need them right? Wrong. There are LOTS of things you have to consider and plan for before you rent a locker from a storage facility. If you don't, you'll find yourself spending wasted energy and time trying to get your items into and out of storage. These are some questions you should be asking yourself before you rent. 1. Are your belongings safe? What does the facility do to prevent unauthorized access to the storage area? 2. Are the doors and elevator doors large enough to comfortably move large items into the storage facility? 3. Are there any obstacles or problems with the infrastructure that will make it difficult for you to transport items into and out of storage? Considering that public storage is one of the largest storage franchises in the USA, I found it appalling that it failed on almost everything I thought were mandatory requirements to operate a storage facility. 1. Doorways into the storage facility and the elevator doors are small. If you move large items like couches and/or king size beds you are going to have to twist and turn items to get your items through. To make matters worse, the elevators are small so you'll have to make few extra trips. 2. Lack of elevators. There are only two elevators in the storage facility. One is located on the west end and the other on the east end. There is only 1 elevator on each side. When I went this week, the elevator on one end was broken forcing me to load and unload from the other. That was a royal pain. 3. Security. The main gates require a security code to gain access into the storage facility. However, the exit door is open so you can drive right through the exit area and gain access. The storage facility is open to anyone from inside the gates. I hope I'm not giving any info that will be beneficial to thieves..... 4. Issues with infrastructure. There is a slight depression between the ramp that connects the street and the building. The word "slight" is an understatement b/c your cart and dolly will get stuck in that "slight" depression. Next time I'm there I'm going to file a complaint to get this fixed. It's absolutely ridiculous that this problem even exists in the first place. 5. Lighting. The storage facility is too dark. It's obvious they tried to reduce the lighting fixtures to reduce costs, but it comes at a risk to me b/c I'm unloading and loading a ton of heavy stuff inside a dark storage locker. They need to add lighting inside individual storage lockers. I can see someone filing a lawsuit if he/she gets hurt b/c of this. Before I came here, I took a look at EZ storage on parklawn drive. The elevators are large, the facility is very well lit, it doesn't smell, and it's aesthetically pleasing. Why on earth then did I choose Public Storage? I chose Public Storage b/c my storage unit was closer to the elevator than the unit at EZ storage. If it weren't for that it would have been a really easy choice to go with EZ storage. I would have given this facility a 1 star, but have upgraded the review to 2 stars because of the employees. They are very nice people and have been extremely courteous. For those considering long term storage, I would look at the important factors that I described in this review before diving in and signing the contract. The choice is yours. read more

3.5 stars. So I used these guys years ago, when I got a 10x10 unit for $99 a month. Boy have things changed. After falling over after hearing today's price for a 10x10 unit, I went with the 5x10 for $124 a month. Yikes. The only benefit I can see since last time is that they are now open 365 days a year (6 am- 9 pm). Last time they were closed on holidays, and some random ones at that...you know, the ones you use to move stuff. When I went to rent the unit, the jackass working there was totally unethical, and probably should have been fired for giving out false information. Luckily, he has moved out of the area and no longer works there. These are the lies he told me: they only had 1 5x10 unit left and 1 10x10 unit left (so better hurry and rent today!), I am required to buy their insurance for $9 a month, that I had to buy one of their locks--I am not allowed to use my own--for a price of $20 (and by the way, that $20 lock that he sold me was broken--sorry, no refunds). Though its no secret these are not climate-controlled units, you should keep that in mind if you will be moving stuff in the winter. I thought I was going to have to have my fingers amputated after moving stuff out of there in February. I'm not sure how much the climate controlled places are, but at $124 for a 5x10 locker, I would be surprised if they are much more. Now we'll do the pros and cons, starting with the pros: - Great location. - I felt safe when there alone. - Clean; rodent and insect-free. - Staff is helpful. Cons: - Turning left out of the place is usually difficult. Traffic on Randolph sucks, not really the fault of this place. - Prices are high, but I have nothing to compare them to, could be standard for all I know. - There is no way to hold the elevator. A real pain when you have a lot of stuff to load. - Flatbeds must be signed out of the office during office hours only. That's because people were stealing/destroying them, so they ruined it for everyone else. At least they have them available. Overall, I would use them again, but only after shopping around for lower prices. If they are about the same as other places, I would choose them. read more

I've had a 10x10 unit here for just over a year and the rate has been increased twice in that time. My original rate was $110/month and starting next month it will be $170. I chose this location for the price, guess that was a mistake. read more

Efficient, affordable and friendly. Booking a unit online was simple, and both the move-in and move-out took only a few minutes in the office. Prices were reasonable, though there was a modest increase while renting. But above all, this location stands out for one thing: customer service. Bad interactions with an employee can make or break a business. But Kekeli at the front desk was so pleasant and efficient that the process of moving was made surprisingly enjoyable. I also appreciate that when I forgot to update my autopay information, she called me up before any late fees were charged. I have stored my belongings here for about five years without issues. The staff is awesome..... professional, courteous and easily recognizable, they usually answer the phone, and (during the times I got an answering service) return calls pretty quickly. The units are clean and without major rodent or insect issues (like other storage facilities). I was pleasantly surprised to see upon vacating my unit, that beyond some dust, my furniture was in the same condition as it went in. The facility is securely gated (never saw any "randoms" walking around), and again very clean. Would totally recommend these guys. read more

After checking pricing and availability of several storage vendors in the area, I chose this Public Storage because it is less than 5 minutes from my apartment, and they had the best price for a 5x5 unit of any others I looked at. All-in-all, it is a great value. I was able to reserve my unit easily using the website. Contrast that with U-Haul just down the street, where the website malfunctioned when I tried to reserve a unit. Then when I called about the unit, they said that size was no longer available and tried to convince me to rent a slightly larger but much more expensive unit. Anyway, within 10 minutes of making my reservation on Public Storage's website, Kelly called me to set up my first visit and paperwork. When I did visit, Kelly was extremely nice, professional, and efficient with my time. Access and egress are easy through code-controlled gates. The building itself appears to be old and showing its age. The downstairs door is kept open at all times, making the lower level very cold and drafty. My unit is on the second floor, so while not "climate-controlled," it is adequately warm and free from drafts. I wasn't aware beforehand that they require contents to be insured and they try to sell you a policy. However, my renter's insurance has off-site coverage so I declined their insurance. They also wanted to sell me a lock for $20, but I already had an identical lock from a previous storage rental. read more

KC was VERY nice!!! Showed me around the unit. Offered me to use a dolly that he had available. Said that there was an onsite property manager who lives there. This is great! Helps me feel secure and safe putting my things there. The price is crazy!!! 62 dollars a month for a 5x5 with the first month being $1. If you don't have your own lock it will cost you $20. and there is an admin fee of $20. AND $11-$15 per month for insurance that wasn't listed online. Other than that... STILL CHEAP! :D read more

these guys are so nice! their gates are accessible from 6am-9pm. yes, it isn't perfect but it's fairly clean. and fuss free. it's always freezing there so if you're a homeless person hanging out in front of a unit, you won't be comfortable (the humanity in me questions whether or not i should be bothered by this. and yes there is a homeless person who sits in front of her locker which is in front of my locker, 90% of the time i come). read more

Kelly was very nice showing me around and where things are. She could not have been more helpful. The structure has it's limits. If you take a climate controlled unit (in the bldg), access is limited by the door size to the bldg. Lighting is fine once you find the right timers to turn on. The passages are fairly narrow and the bldg is pretty old. Also, very limited on site carts that are kept adjacent to the office. That said, it's currently serving its purpose, a bit cheaper then the competition for a climate controlled area and the folks that work there (including the manager who's name I'm forgetting) are as helpful as they can be. read more
