The contract allows them to charge for insurance unless you provide proof of insurance. But when I provided proof of insurance, I was charged for insurance so now I have to contact them to reverse the charges. This is not the first time. How many customers are charged for insurance because they fail to notice the extra charge? StoragMart is deceptive in their management practices.

The units are actually smaller in my experience. I actually ended up measuring a few units after already being charged for the unit and signing the contract. Once I measured about 4 of them after already being charged and signing a contract for the unit it became apparent that the units are actually 9 x 14 size units not as they advertised for a 10 x 15. The only reason we got the unit was for the advertised size and well unfortunately it is falsely advertised. It's unfortunate that we had already signed the contract and paid for the unit because we really needed all the square footage that was advertised on their website for the unit. Any ways just thought that everyone should know about this discrepancy before committing to a contract so you can actually get the size you truly need. Make sure to have your measuring tapes ready to measure before hand unlike us.

Frustrated at the injustice, I cut my losses and moved on. Then, today I get an email that my January payment has auto-drafted, despite the fact I moved out a month ago! I guess the guy at the office never actually moved me out. After hours on hold on the phone, I was eventually told that I would have to print documentation that I was incorrectly charged and take it IN PERSON back to the premises I had already vacated. Worst company ever. Nothing but bad experiences. In the few years we were there, the amount we were charged per month more than doubled. Poorly run with zero customer service. Office is empty most of the time too.

I need to put a vehicle in storage so yesterday I searched for a unit at a Public Storage nearby snd found a 10x30 that cost $250 (!!!) but was "On-Sale" for half price. When I tried to book it, the price automatically increased back to $250. I just got a call from the Public Storage facility and they told me I didn't qualify for the price they were advertising because I was already a customer. So if you are a customer of Public Storage, they think they can blatantly fleece you. Good to know. Fortunately, there are tons of other storage facilities out there. I could move out of my other units PS units but on the other hand, those sites have never tried to take advantage of me.

overall, i wouldn't recommend this place and would definitely take my business elsewhere…read more calling over the phone is basically pointless. you get connected to random representatives who don't actually help with questions about your specific unit. it feels super disconnected and frustrating when you're trying to get clear answers. the policies are also really inconsistent and honestly unfair. my brother's monthly rate literally doubled with no notice, which is not only inconvenient but also feels really unprofessional. there doesn't seem to be any transparency or consistency in pricing. the only positive experience i had was with olivia. she was the one employee who actually took the time to help and answer questions clearly. everyone else, on the other hand, was quick to threaten sending my account to collections if i didn't pick up my belongings right after my paid month ended. this was especially frustrating because another representative had already told me my items would simply be auctioned off after that period, so i was getting completely conflicting information. overall, the communication is poor, the policies are unreasonable, and the customer service is not helpful. i wouldn't recommend this facility at all.

That should have been the first red flag. Well, I went to my unit today, October 6th, 2025, and the unit is green tagged without my lock on it. I can't access it, don't know where my items are, and because it's after hours, I cannot get hold of the store manager. I called the 1-800 number, and they also cannot assist me. No one has any answers. I did not receive a call or a text, and not even an email stating my items were being moved, damaged, or that there was a concern about my unit. Cubesmart, you're completely unprofessional, disrespectful, and disorganized. My experience with Cubesmart is the antithesis of award-winning as their marketing states, and far from good customer service. It's 8:50 pm as I am writing this, and I guess I have to wait until tomorrow morning to see if my items have been lost, stolen, or otherwise. This is not how you treat new paying customers. I will be reporting this experience to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) because this is unacceptable to have no answers and no access to your items when you've paid for your storage unit.
