Roger and his team showed up and had 3/4 of my house packed in the first day. The next day they finished my house and garage, then had my household goods loaded into the truck before the end of the second day. They made sure that my personal items were safe and secured while packing my family up. I was called on a Wednesday by Roger and he was letting me know that they were ready to drop off my household goods on Thursday. Roger and his crew not only packed, moved and delivered my goods, but they did it in a very speedy manner as well as ahead of schedule. I would highly recommend this company. read more

Ward NA San Antonio was assigned to move us for our company. We have moved almost every two years with every major company. This was the worst experience we have ever had and will ensure that any future company moves will never be with them. All our items were damaged, they arrived with no wrapping and the driver marked everything as damaged on the original docs. It was so clear what he did a 6 year old could see it. No matter what you do file your claim with corporate not the San Antonio office, they are only concerned with their end results and will drag it out and lie. Very unprofessional and unconcerned with your property. Not the North American it used to be. read more

I'm not sure if something has changed with this company in the last few years since the first reviews were written, but my experience with them has been phenomenal! Admittedly, I didn't have a whole house to move nor did I need any packing/boxing services, but I needed an obscenely heavy old piano picked up from one house and delivered to another (totally local move). They showed up on time, carefully moved the piano out of the house, gently put it on their truck, and called me on their way to the destination so that someone could meet them to let them in. They ended up waiting a little bit for the homeowner to get to the destination, but the movers didn't seem phased by that at all. Once access had been granted they promptly brought the piano down off the truck, put it on a little furniture dolly, and brought it into the house. It was as fluid and smooth a transaction as you would hope for with a moving company. The price seemed very reasonable, especially since they offered a small arrival window versus having to wait around for them all day; time is money as they say! I hope to do business with Ward North American's San Antonio office again soon! read more

Had to call the police on a moving crew for this company because they decided to park in the MIDDLE of an intersection in a residential neighborhood to unload one truck and load another. The crew was very rude when confronted. Edit: Emailed the company via an inquiry. Very quick response. Sent them pictures and the crew moved within 15 minutes. The crew did yell at us calling us "a bunch of pu***es" and calling us "fa**ots" and they got in the trucks to leave though. read more

Is there such a thing as a good long haul moving company? I'm not sure. But Ward North American ain't it. While I can say the first half of my move went smoothly--they nailed the weight estimate from our Facetime call, the load out movers in Austin were professional, organized, and meticulous. But all fell apart the second my items were moved out of storage and placed en route to my new home in Chicago. First of all, Ward outsourced my contract to another company--Berger--without informing me of the transfer. When the day finally came to receive my items, the clearly unvetted driver was 4.5 hours late. He "couldn't find a shuttle truck." Pretty sure he didn't start LOOKING for a shuttle truck for my 1 Bedroom Apartment worth of items until the morning he was supposed to deliver. When they finally arrived, they walked up to my door HOLDING pieces of my clothing IN THEIR ARMS. "Where was the box all of that was in?" I asked. "We had to unpack it to make it fit in the truck." Right. Off to a great start. When I glance in the truck, I notice that every single piece of furniture, which had been beautifully wrapped in plastic and furniture pads by the movers in Austin, was crammed together, no longer wearing its protection. My hunch is that in an attempt to make his life easier this trucker (who was NOT a mover based on his lack of dolly, furniture pads, etc.) unwrapped everything and threw it away before he even got to my apartment building, cramming it in the smaller box truck to make it fit. The first thing unloaded after aforementioned my loose coats and shoes is my bicycle. Which is crushed. I don't understand where you get the idea that smashing an $1100 bike in a truck is a good idea. The handlebars point one way, the front wheel points another. I hope it's reparable. The top of my solid wood dining table is cracked--clearly it was dropped. An antique chair lost a leg in pieces. Did I mention this driver's coworker was his FOURTEEN YEAR-OLD CHILD? And that they were incredibly uppity about wearing masks during a global pandemic, all the while, hacking and coughing as they carried items up the stairs. The fact that I did not contract COVID from this experience is a miracle. And what does Ward North American do to take care of the damage? A whopping $70 credit back to me. After pushing a little harder, they agreed to give me an additional $400 dollars (after promising $600) out of their GOOD WILL. Look, I understand things get damaged in transit. Glasses break, boxes get dented, etc. That's a risk you have to take when you can't move your own items cross country. But when you completely fail to uphold a reasonable standard of care and then pat yourselves on the back for "goodwill," well, hypocrisy doesn't begin to describe it. I am not one to take down a customer service representative who is clearly doing all they can as a cog in a machine. The Ward employees I interacted with were apologetic and kind. But as a corporate entity, Ward clearly has some work to do. Long story short: JUST DON'T. read more

I was not a customer but my neighbors hired them. They may be "professionals" for people that pay but they disrespected the neighbors around them. They put their belongings on my mailbox. They blocked my mailbox as they are blasting their music and smoking on my lawn. I would never consider hiring them. I can only imagine how they would treat my belongings. read more

What an amazing move. Ward did an outstanding move for us !!!! Can't say enough about their attention to details and how they handled our hectic day. First they sent reminders and then called the day before to ask if we had someone to take care of our baby gran piano. They bought in a third Party service that did an excellent job. All of the employees were friendly and patient with placing our furniture. Even when I asked them to move some pieces more than once. Go somewhere else. Hard company to deal with if you loose anything. I took out $300 all coverage insurance and can't get reimbursement for a lost box. The driver didn't call out the box numbers for me to check off when they delivered. He said he had my stuff sectioned off on the truck so need to. When I discovered a missing box with items $225 missing the company denied my claim. It was my responsibility to check off all those numbers on the boxes myself. I have never had a company not check off inventory before with me when they deliver. They are trying to cut corners and put the blame on you if anything is missing. They also do this locked in price deal. They over estimate your load poundage and when your load weighs in less they don't adjust the price like all the other companies do. The women in the claims department is just nasty to engage with. read more

I felt safe and secure all the way right from my first contact with the NAVL representative and office staff to the pick-up in TX, very friendly and effective crew, till the quick delivery on move-in in CA, again very friendly and effective crew. We had moved part of our home belongings across the country. This I feel is much more complicated than a total move with sorting items and making decisions as to where items would go at the new location along with if it was too much or not enough. During this time a couple of moving choices were changed. The driver and the movers were wonderful stating " Pkeae let us know what we can do, this is your move." The crew were polite to me and respectful of the items packed. They worked quickly and efficiently at both locations and kept with the timelines discussed. We had a great experience. Whenever choosing a moving company it seems that all the reviews are either extremely positive or negative and so it is a toss up in your mind which service you will receive. Thankfully, we had the 5-star experience on our move from San Antonio to Colorado Springs. We even had to delay the move for some unforseen reasons and Ward was more than accomodating in postponing the move for no extra charge. On the day of the move, the men arrived and packed everything very carefully and then about 4 days later the items arrived at the destination and the men unloaded everything and put it where it needed to go. Nothing was damaged or destroyed in the move. TL/DR: I highly recommend Ward North American for your next move. read more

Ward North American is the worst moving company out there. I recently moved from San Antonio, TX to Rancho Santa Fe CA. Contacting North American was one of the worst decisions I have made in a long time. I contracted the packing/unpacking deal. My furniture arrived in terrible conditions and instead of unpacking they only piled up my belongings in one room. Then promised to come back the next day and do the rest, needless to say they never came back. After I called and complained about this, they washed their hands by telling me that I had to stop the driver from leaving until I was pleased with the unpacking. That because he had already left it was now my problem. They also called my wife with a really high tone and were really rude. I am writing this to try to help someone before they make the same mistake as me. Please no matter what, never use Ward North American. read more

I'm in the process of my first-ever full service move this week, provided by Ward North American of San Antonio. (Moving from Round Rock to San Antonio.) After 2 days most of my household goods are packed and loaded, and if the delivery service on the other end turns out to be half as good as the service on this end, I will be one very happy customer! Brad and his crew earned my trust right away by first putting down floor protection throughout my house, along with putting padding on the stairs bannister and the doorways. The crew has been ultra-careful and efficient, plus kind and courteous. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! (Well, I am hoping for one more thing: Brad said he will request that he and his guys be the delivery crew on the other end, since our goods are going into storage for 30 days. Many things went wrong but the biggest issues were the lies. Sales person Jim told me he would give me quote for regular move and blue express. I received one quote and had to ask which version it was for. I was told it was blue express which would be cheaper and have a definite delivery date. When the actual movers came, they wrapped everything in paper first and then bubble wrap. With my limited amount of furniture it should have only taken a couple of hours they were there for 4 hours. They asked where am I moving overseas I said I wasn't going overseas, why do you ask? They said blue express packing was typically more expensive and for overseas shipping. I had a defined window as a due date. I took off work those 4 days so I would be available for the delivery but they didn't show. I called, emailed and it took several days for a response and I was told it would be in a few days it was in route. Well few days passed and nothing. I was the told it would be a different date but no. Finally after 9 additional days it finally was delivered with pieces broken. During the time I was waiting I only had a bed in my apartment so that made everything worse. The response of that company was horrible. I even emailed the manager and still got no where. I finally received a check today for the overdue penalty and I'm still waiting to here about broken furniture claim. I would not recommend them primarily due to the lies and lack of service/response. read more

Can't say enough good things about Ward Moving! They handled my out of state move professionally and with smiles on their faces. The driver and his crews for each state arrived on time and went right to work. Doorways were wrapped to protect them and my furniture. Every item was wrapped several times for protection. Everything arrived in good shape. They brought in specialists to handle my marble table tops and sleep number bed. They managed to handle difficult driveways and weather obstacles professionally while still smiling. Pricing was reasonable with no added surprises. My highest recommendarion would be, if I ever have to move again, I'll call Ward! read more

Terrible experience. The packers spent most of the time on their cell phones and broke two porcelain pieces; the truck driver took it upon himself not to protect a leather chair "as he ran out of blankets", the result: a scratched and gouged chair which can no longer be used. Much to my dismay the driver "offered" me cash not to submit the claim as he did not want his reputation tarnished (I declined). In addition they managed to lose one of our boxes as they packed multiple households in the same truck. We are yet to receive an answer from their Corporate Office after several emails and telephone calls. Stay away... go with Bekins whom we used 4 years ago and had no issues Update: After a couple emails back and forth they "washed" their hands of any accountability and in essence said we should submit a request for our claim to be reviewed... again. The Director was so irritated at my emails that his last response was in red, highlighted and bold :-), at least I got a chuckle out of that. Disappointing experience from timeliness (on loading day showed up hours late and did not leave until 11pm) to packing (still looking items4 months later.) Final straw was when North American customer service refused responsibility for dishes we have not yet found (a $200 claim on a $13,000 out of pocket move.) Certainly not where items should have been packed. We are in temporary rental housing and had to leave dozens of boxes unopened. NA feels I should have to open all my unopened wardrobe boxes to find missing dishes. Moved eight times in last 20 years, all $12-20,000 moves. WILL NOT use North American again. read more
