This place should shut down. It is in a very frequently flooded area so gets flooded on a regular basis. They don't tell customers this before they allow them to unknowingly rent from them, and then don't do anything to "make it right"' after it happens. At a minimum, customers should be made aware that this unit is likely to be flooded regularly so they can decide to rent with that information. Yes they offer good prices and that was a biggie for me. But then I asked the hours of availability which the representative told me 6am every day. I'm traveling from another state with a move in progress. So when I ask for time availability it's I'm on a tight schedule with other people involved. April 8th I get to Public Storage with a packed up car early with no access. Why be I didn receive the access code the day or night before as my email said I would. Now I had at 2 more trips before my ride had to go to work. Needless to say I didn't get in until 2 hours later of my schedule time. Lost my ride, my help and money from missing customers I made appointments with to sell some of my furniture to (but now I'm struggling with my storage unit by myself). read more

Do not rent from here. This place is beyond filthy. I went to my unit today and I saw mouse droppings on the ground and on my furniture. Joseph did sweep it up, however that does not satisfy me. Considering public storage was at fault, you would assume they would be compassionate about people's belongs...quite the contrary. Public storage proceeded to throw out everyone's belongings without consultation while not allowing anyone else into the building. Management should be on notice for legal litigation. Edit 11/1/21: After legal litigation a select few of us were able to gain access to our things but only under extremely strict and one sided terms. For starters, we "the renters" are still barred from entry. Instead we've been forced to hire out a remediation team for thousands of dollars to haul our things out. This isn't including the cost of restoration, transportation, and additional storage now necessary. Keep in mind this excuse for a facility is still in operation yet treats it's lower level as if it were condemned (which it's clearly not). If you were to only read a portion of my Public Storage chronicle I'd highly suggest reading the following: Despite the negative coverage, poor handling of the situation, and the major fact that this is located in a FLOOD ZONE, in a months time it will clear the basement out and rent once again as if it were business as usual. SHADY, SHADY, SHADY. An investigation needs to be set in place! --- Edit 10/7/21: I was able to get an appointment to collect my belongings only for it to be canceled and rescheduled for the following week. Only when I arrived I was then told that everything was deemed unsalvageable and that all of my belongings would be disposed of. They're making up the rules as they go and are operating in an extremely shady manner. There's no indication outside of trusting them that they'd simply throw away everything regardless of their condition. Don't for a second believe the fake 5 star reviews that have conveniently started to pour in since I left my negative one. They have done nothing specifically to help me nor any of my friends that have rented here other than screw us all over with false information. --- 9/18/2021 We've been told via email that the recent flood has caused significant damage to units on the lower level, which just so happens to where my belongings are situated (lucky me). You're basically given the ultimatum of either leaving your unwanted things at the facility to be disposed of or come collect what can be salvaged so that renovations can be made to the unit itself. Where am I supposed to put my things in the meantime?!? The reason I rent from you all is because I don't have any room in my current living space! Phone lines have been cut since the event and my messages have gone unanswered for weeks. In addition to all this the place isn't well kept. Over the brief time I've rented here I've come across mice droppings on my furniture and the men's bathroom is filthy. Complaints have fell on deaf ears and as for the mice droppings, the front desk just hands you an insurance claims pamphlet (given that you actually bought insurance). I am so disappointed by the lack of communication regarding the significant amounts of water that damaged many units and floors at the location. We were sent cryptic emails that under no circumstances are we to go to location, that it is closed due to flood water damage to entire building and that they will notify us when it is safe to come after an assessement is done (I get that). But, no other details were given like how much water it took on, what floors were affected, etc. Second email states they anticipate possibly reopening/gaining access by 9/15, but we would need to schedule an appointment to determine what was damaged. In my opinion, by that time what could have potentially been salvaged is not possible now. I left several voicemails, reached out to the customer care team, left several emails and nothing. Shockingly, yesterday I get an email stating your payment is late for the unit (that I can't access, where my items stored have been damaged and I can't assess that damage) so you need to make the payment and we have now applied a late fee. . . SMH. . .ARE YOU KIDDING ME! So I get this was unforeseen, and even if my irreplaceable valueables were destroyed, it is not due to any fault of the business. However, the unprofessional manner in which this was handled and lack of communication has loudly conveyed the message WE DON'T CARE, WE WANT OUR MONEY & YOUR STUFF IS OF NO CONSEQUENCE TO US NO MATTER WHAT YOU LOST. Very disappointed with my storage unit experience here. After about two years of having my storage unit, when I went to move everything out there was mouse poop everywhere. It even got into my chairs and couch that was wrapped tight with plastic and moving blankets. When I told the reception desk when I went to check out, all that was said was 'oh it's because your unit was in the basement.' Didn't find that professional at all, or helpful obviously. Terrible... Spend your money elsewhere! I have never experienced such bad customer service in any setting. This was from the manager, district manager, and the corporate customer service. The manager admitted her employee made a mistake and did NOTHING to help rectify it. This was also repeated by the district manager and worst of all corporate customer service. I have been a customer of public storage for over a DECADE, spending thousands with the company and based on my experience at this particular branch I will NEVER give public storage another cent. I understand there can be a bad manager in the field sometimes, but corporate customer support is supposed to help out and compensate for their obvious lack of skill and customer service. Don't even deserve the one star that was given to them. The management and (in my view) unethical business practices displayed at this place of business, is the reason why there is so much distrust with corporations like public storage. In my two dealings with Joe, I felt as if I was dealing with a con-artist. Although, in PS contract they state they can raise fees at anytime, I don't see how you can justify a 20% increase within the first two months of having a unit w/o just cause. I don't believe it's entirely Joe's fault, as he is a reflection of corporate. The mere fact the he informally introduces himself as Joe while calling on business matters, when I am sure his name is Joseph (as mentioned in a previous review), indicates a lack of professional standard. My biggest discrepancy is the lie that was told to me over the phone, and Joe trying to explain "for my own edification," which I assume was an unconscious effort to insult my intelligence, that they don't pro-rate payments. When in fact, when I first moved in, my bill was pro-rated because of the timeline of my purchase. Then this jerk has the galls to tell me I could reach out to customer service but they'll tell you there's nothing that can be done. What do you got... a crystal ball over there Joe that allows you to see into the future. Or, wait, better yet, you are customer service, so therefore you were saving yourself the trouble of repeating yourself. The audacity of this company and Joe. read more

I have never rented a storage space at this property. However, I DO GO HERE FOR BOXES and MATERIALS quite often. Joseph, the sales rep. I dealt with was very friendly, knowledgeable and finished the transaction very efficiently. I give this 4-stars because of the expertise and approach that Joseph had. He didn't "attack" me with a million questions, that "sell stuff quick" personality by offering extra items/materials. Compare their pricing and expertise with other shipping supply stores. The others will end up having you pay out your whole wallet. read more

The catastrophe was not the flash flood that happened last week, but how the management dealt with the situation As of today, there is still no climate control, and it is not expected until next week. No electric fans are on the floors. Its dead air. This week will be in the 90s and there is no plan to alleviate the air situation. The mold and mildrew is awful on the first two floors. Considering that we are forced to clean out our storage with the air as bad it is, is beyond disbelief. The fact that we were given such a short time frame with limited hands-on support, to empty, clean and repack anything that was wet, and reload the storages is pretty ruthless. I have a lot of stuff.. and am not sure how it will be impacted by this week's high temperatures. What compensation will be offered? Very Pleased with this storage facility and my unit and Seynabou, the lovely woman who is on site. This is the first time I have ever used a storage facility, but having heard nightmares,I was wary and did a lot of research. This location is convenient, on Route 22 - no off the beaten path side roads. It's well maintained - clean and good security system. Seynabou was extremely helpful and kind in answering all my questions with patience and thoroughness - very professional. The pricing was reasonable - there are a lot of on-line offers for storage but when you add in all the fees and specifics ( climate controlled, location of unit..) those deals don't look so good anymore. Seynabou thoroughly explained what I would be charged in the first, second and then later months. I would definitely recommend this location, especially because the person on site, Seynabou is so helpful. read more

The woman at the front desk was helpful during sign up. She also encouraged me to write a positive review. I'm not sure why anyone would review a business before they actually use it. The place is very clean. However there are only two carts available. I have been here when there was only one other couple here and had to leave without doing what I came for because they were using both carts. I have been renting a unit for 5-6 months and have already received a 10% increase. Maybe after a full year but less than half a year? I will downsize my unit and eventually move anything that's left to another storage company as soon as possible. read more

I tend to get a kick out of most reviews for storage facilities because I learned early on that if you really want to preserve your belongings, you would never leave them in a storage facility. The dampness, the constant change in climate, the mice, etc. Why people are surprised at that is beyond me. But I had been a Public Storage customer previously and was extremely happy with the facility and the service. When I decided to get my belongings closer to home, this location was the natural selection. In my two years, I have dealt with rude people, filthy facilities, and online services that often aren't working properly. I, admittedly, had been tardy in my payments a few times. Each and every time I would try to pay online, I was prevented from getting access. So I would have to wait until I could get to the facility to make a payment in person. I complained about it multiple times, and excuse after excuse was given to me...and I had to fight each and every time to get my late fee back. I never had these issues with the prior location. And then when I did make a payment, because it didn't hit up right away, I would get a phone call from someone saying, "This is Public Storage with an URGENT message for Alan." Urgent message? Oh come on. When I hear that I think something serious happened to my stuff. Again, I said, "I understand that this is your job, but don't ever call me and tell me that it is 'urgent' just because you are looking for my money." I finally moved out of the facility because the rate very quickly increased from $175 to $215 monthly. That's a big jump...and certainly not worth all of the other problems. read more

When I first rented a unit the woman was super friendly. She asked me to write a favorable review on Google. She even took my phone and got the review started. However I quickly later learned what a run down dump this place is. Lights rarely work. Bathrooms are filthy and non working. Disgusting and have since moved to a different storage. read more

Very surprised this is a publicly traded REIT listed on the NYSE based upon the condition of this property and overall experience I've had there since renting a unit in 2013. I am counting the weeks down until I am no longer a customer. The corridors are horrendously dirty. I have multiple moth traps set in the unit that are COVERED in moths. I've seen the same garbage on the floors for months if not years. Only occasionally are there hand trucks available for customers. I've had a terrible experience trying to pay on the website and then when I call for help I was just given the 1-800 number they list at the top of the corporate website. There are so many other options for storage in the area. I'd advise to go anywhere else! read more
