This company uses pretty shady practices to eek out more money from customers. 6 months after opening my storage unit, which I opened in part due to the pricing they were offering, they raised my rent by 20%. On top of that, when I went to schedule my move out date, they disabled my auto pay for my last month's rent and then charged me a $54 late fee 8 days after payment was due, with no advance notification that my account was unpaid. I called immediately after being notified that my account was past due (which only happened because the auto pay got shut off) and when I asked for the late fee to be removed, I was told that if I didn't pay it now they would lock me out of my storage unit. Next time I'll use a different company. I don't appreciate this kind of stuff. read more

Robert the area manager for scottsdale is awful! We are in a pandemic and they increase prices! He tried to tell me that my price isn't close to the going rate. I pay $63.40 for a 5x5 unit online the price is $53.00 ! I've been there for 2 years and all they do is increase, my 3rd one. I called corporate they said he would be the one to help. He didn't care! I get that times are hard and they are for everyone!! But a $14 dollar increase each month for a 5x5' unit is terrible and to lie that my price wasn't up to market, tells me the kind of person you are and how you do business. Also keep in mind there are cleaner places to store your stuff. The place is run down. I paid my final month and will never recommend any to your company! If Robert oversees the area it won't matter where you go. He has the final say! You will be screwed I can say Vita that works at the location is very nice and helpful. I would like to call out Vita. I originally selected this location for my moving needs, but when I stopped in to make sure the location would work for what I needed and especially for the size of the moving truck (I needed to accommodate - a semi who needed to back in to unload) - Vita quickly said I probably needed to find a different location as theirs was on the smaller side). She then got right to work helping me find a different location, a good deal on a unit, and then transferred my reservation over to the other location. She even called them to let them know I was coming. Vita went above and beyond. This Public Storage is lucky to have someone like Vita representing them and when you rent at this location you will be in excellent hands! read more

My husband attempted to book a unit online at the advertised price but the website froze and he wasn't able to complete it. He immediately called their customer service and the rep wasn't able to fix the issue to complete the booking so escalated the call to a manager. The manager suggested my husband try booking from another device but there was an $8/month difference in price (in a matter of minutes from his original attempt). When he questioned the difference he was told that prices fluctuate based on demand. No offer was made to honor the original price, even when their website was the reason he couldn't book the unit. We are taking our business elsewhere. read more

I am so disappointed to have to change my review to a negative one. I mapped out all storage units in the area, their costs, best routes to my home and planned on leasing for 3-5+ years. Vita is very sweet and when asked, she confirmed that the rate that I was told was my rate. Four months later, my rate jumps up. What could have been a long term relationship will be a short term one. When approached, the management response, very impersonal and short-sighted, read "the rate is still below market value". My advice is this: if you need a very short term lease, this place may be great. If you are looking for a place to park your stuff long-term, this is the wrong place. In their own words "Public Storage is a big corporate organization and there isn't much that we can do." Rent from a local and someone who cares and values long term tenants. read more

As every review reads: Vita is GREAT! Vita isn't what we should be reviewing--public storage is. Unfortunately, as I see I am not the only person today negative feedback, I will be leaving this facility. I was told that my unit would be easy to re-rent (way to make me feel like a valued customer) if I wasn't fine with my rate increasing after three months of tenancy. This company needs to be more customer-centric. They rope you in with a low rate and after you have done the heavy lifting of moving all of your items, and you think you are settled in and happy, they crank up the costs. I don't think anyone will argue about how great Vita is but she isn't paying my unit cost or preventing it from rising. Expect increases. read more

I've been a loyal customer of this facility since 1998, when it was Shurguard. My family and I have always maintained at least two spaces constantly for that duration. Until purchased in 2006 by Public Storage, it was consistently well-maintained and equipped. Public Storage does a really poor job of providing adequate carts for it's customers. This is a large facility covering two stories and I've complained about this for several years now. They used to have 8-10 carts available, they've been down to two (2) and one upright (Painting/Mirror) cart for over three years now. It's completely unacceptable for the size and level of customer usage frequency and most importantly the prices. It is climate-controlled and extremely-well located and that is the reason we've maintained our loyalty for going on two decades. ***The one outstanding component that this facility has is it's Manger, Vita. She is an absolute sweetheart and a professional who goes above and beyond to satisfy her customers. Vita is one component that deserves 6 stars out of 5. Pay attention, PS: Add carts for your customers and be advised that when the correct opportunity for Vita comes up at my company, I'm stealing her!! read more

Found the perfect size storage locker, customer service was very good, only one person working, she was super nice and knew what she was doing, and was very helpful and fast. When I first got there, nobody else was there, and then another couple came in kinda pushy, wanted service immediately. She kindly apologized and insisted she'd be able to help them as soon as she was done with us. Something about the way she said it was really nice and calming. I was impressed. My only complaint is about Public Storage ads - $1 for first month ad on search, click through and it says 50% off first month, find the locker I want and it comes with no discount. The fine print is "on select units", so oh well, but it did feel deceptive. Lure me in with SALE and then there is no sale on the unit I want, of course! read more
