UPDATE: Almost a week later, we received a call saying that we would receive complimentary storage to make amends for what happened, so I'm adjusting to a 3-star review. To be clear, staff was not on-site for just a "momentary" time as suggested ~ it was over an hour. Hopefully, though, feedback like this will prevent a future repeat of that behavior. The measure of any business is its ability to own up to any missteps, learn from them, then make things right with the customer ~ and in this regard, StorAmerica has done its job!

We need some extra space to store a few things while we staged our house. We noticed this new place just minutes from our home, so we gave it a try. The gentleman we met was friendly and got us signed up right away. That afternoon, we dropped off some moving boxes.
The following week, we received a voicemail from the CA HQ stating that there had been an issue with their keypad at the DC Ranch facility, so they were changing our password. A few days later, we brought over more items to store only to discover that the new and old codes DID NOT WORK. NO ONE was at the office even though stated hours are 9 AM - 6 PM (we were there at 11 AM) ~ we called the number of the front door ~ voicemail ~ we called the Thomas Road number ~ voicemail ~ we were there for over an hour waiting for ANYONE to show up ~ attempted to call the corporate offices in CA with, you guessed it, voicemail. Finally we reached out to the facility in Buckeye ~ OVER 50 MILES AWAY ~ who were finally able to help us gain access.
When we finally were able to speak with Daniel at the Thomas Road location, he wondered why no one was at DC Ranch but couldn't understand our frustration with this huge collapse in customer care ~ "That's why they call it SELF storage" he told us ~ well Daniel, it can only be SELF storage if the company provides the CORRECT ACCESS INFORMATION AND KEEPS THEIR ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT IN GOOD REPAIR. Otherwise, it's not "self" storage. No effort was made to make things right. While we were at the Thomas Road location, another customer made a similar comment, "Yeah, they don't answer their phones."
The following day, we received a voicemail from Michael, the alleged property manager of DC Ranch ~ wanted to "discuss" what happened. It would be especially refreshing if ANYONE from this company began a conversation with "I'm so sorry this happened" and then offer a TIMELY solution or reparations.
When we first visited DC Ranch, the gentleman mentioned they had only been open (3) months and were hoping to gain more referrals. That is NOT going to happen from us. In order to get referrals, you actually have to provide an outstanding product and customer service. read more
