I had a storage unit here for almost 2 years and it worked great for me. I moved out of the city so it no longer was a convenient location and due to the recent raises in the monthly rent here, it was time to vacate. My only complaint was the constant rent raises but I understand they're going with the crazy Seattle market. Don't get me started on that. The reason I'm posting a review is for the outstanding customer service I received from Carrie on the day I moved out. She was very nice and caring and was running around all day helping multiple customers and resetting elevators (set of by the fire alarm company inspector). She went above and beyond also when my fully loaded Uhaul wouldn't start and I had to wait 3 hours there for the tow company. But that's another story. She made the final check out very smooth as well. Thank you Carrie!! read more

First day I went in to rent a storage unit, the person at the customer service office was super nice. It's barely a mile from my new home so I just went with them. The place felt ok when someone was around at the front desk however I had to move a few items in over the weekend by myself during early evening hours and boy was this place creepy! There was only one other person doing a heavy duty move and we bumped into each other at the elevator. He was not very friendly which made me feel even more unsafe. Today, I called and asked if there was a possibility I could transfers my paperwork to a different public storage (Fairview location) and the person who picked up the phone was extremely nice. I told him I popped in on Saturday evening and just felt very uncomfortable. He said he understood and I could always request someone at the office to escort me up...BUT he also added that I should have researched that before I moved in. What? Did he really have to add that snide remark in? I wouldn't know that information unless I actually tried out getting around the unit when no one was working. I can't wait until my month special is over. Magnolia Bridge down the street was way better and would have been worth the higher price. Leaving asap when month lease is over. Nothing is more important than my safety and comfort and did not help that some guy said well you should have researched it before. What a huge disregard for customer service. He was nice but that comment was unnecessary. Like the other reviews I should NOT have ignored, go some place else. This place is barely a mile from my new home but so not worth it. Magnolia Bridge or Fairview is where I'm going next. Also, they kept trying to sell me the insurance but I'm almost certain that my homeowner insurance covers it but the sales person was slightly rushing me and pushy about it. Don't use this location. Just don't do it. Yelp is here to guide you and the idiot me ignored the negative reviews for location convenience and the $1 dollar special. As a plus, Fairview is cheaper and has climate controlled units and so does Magnolia Bridge storage. This place is pricier and does not have heated units even. To even their competition, they really should lower rates. Now I feel like I need to call a guy friend to go with me every time I want to access my storage unit after hours. I normally don't even mind walking home from work though DT, Belltown and Capitol Hill leaving the office at 10pm. Go elsewhere! read more

I've been a tenant of this location for the last nine months, and I love it. I run a small business, and I can't afford to pay for a large amount of storage space every month. Storage places are perfect, and this location is the best I have found. I researched 10-15 different storage facilies in the area before I rented here, and this location had the best rates on a 10x15 - 10x20 unit. The staff here are also extremely helpfull. When I first started renting the main attendants were Les and Brandon. Les moved to a different location, and now Julian and Brandon are the main guys. They are always friendly and courteous, always available to answere any questions, and in general seem to have a good idea of what's going on. When my business out grew my initial storage unit, I asked Julian and Brandon to let me know if another one were to become available. They kept me informed of what was coming up, and I was able to get in on another unit, right down the hall from my first one. As a small business owner, I depend on people like this to help me make it. I value their help enough to give them holiday gift cards this past year. They are THAT worth it. If someone was looking for a storage place, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend this storage facility. read more

The people working here are fine. But Public Storage as a company has now decided that it will change our 24-hour access to 9:30 to 6 or 5. They aren't offering a discount for this drastic reduction in services. Take it or leave it. Plus, the elevator is often out of service and the handcarts are beat up, missing wheels, etc. It's clear there's corporate neglect here, so beware. read more

I don't generally review storage units, but I had to give a shout out to Ryan and Alyssa who were kind and helped me out! I also spoke with the manager, Kevin, who was very helpful. Moving is hard and they helped make it a bit better! My only suggestion is totally separate from the awesome helpful folks and that is to monitor the carts more closely. I have found the staff very helpful whenever I've needed anything. I agree with previous comment that more availability of dollies or hand-trucks would have helped me out. Of special note, the toilet on the parking floor is always in excellent condition, very clean and well supplied. Carrie does a great job with that---a big plus for me. read more

When I first rented, 2 years ago, there was 24 hr. access. Now access is less than halve that and rent has gone up 43%. Doesn't seem right.

I reviewed earlier with problems where my unit was getting broken into and things were getting stolen-these problems persist. Here, i just wanted to comment on the added problem that they raised my rate byt about 30% in the past 3 months. There is no explanation for this, and I wasn't even informed that a rate increase was happening, it just magically appeared. Avoid this place! read more

Worst Customer Service Ever! The wonderful woman that works there (Carrie I think) could not be any more helpful. The district Manager could care less his name is Chuck Williams. I have been renting at this location for longer than Public Storage has owned it over 20 years and they are charging me almost double what it costs you if you sign up today. If you sign up today you can get in for $164 and they are charging me $348 My rent was raised from $258.40 to $348 a month 25% increase and they told me if i want a better rate to move out of my locker and rent another one. Pay attention to current rates and how much YOU are paying monthly. I have been in my storage unit since 2010 and every few months I get a rate raise notification. I am now paying double what I was when I first moved in and the avertised rate for the same space that I have is $70/month less than what I am paying. When I called this location Julien (the only good person at this business) suggested I call customer service and they will definitely help me. To my surprise they were not helpful. They actually told me I needed to move out of my unit and then move back in in order to get the rate. They would not lower my rate at all, so I called Julien again who gave me his manager's email address, Alison Herber, aherber@publicstorage.com and said to email her and she would help me. I have emailed her mulitple times and have not received a response. Maybe Juilen gave me the wrong email address, but her Linkedin confirms her spelling and employment. This place is a dump. They had a roof leak and it leaked all over my stuff. Still waiting for them to fix it as its been well over a week. They said they are not sure when its going to be fixed. Their customers property is obviously not a high priority for them. Unbelievable. read more

Beware when you use the online specials. The units are not as advertised. There were two 5 x 10 units listed. One was advertised as a reduced height unit and the other as a full 5 x 10. I ordered and was charged for the full 5 x 10. When we arrived to see the unit, there was a duct that reduced the size to at least a 5 x 8. If I knew we were getting a smaller unit than we selected I would have went with the lower priced one that actually said it was reduced height. While the sales man in the store was very nice and tried to help us, the manager would not let us change units. The best part is they said they couldn't honor an online price since we were standing in the store. Don't count on getting what you paid for. read more

Yesterday I had an appointment to get set up with a small storage unit. All I really needed is a large closet to store things like camping gear, winter coats, sporting goods, etc that are overflowing the storage space at my small apartment. This location is actually within walking distance of my place so it seemed like the best choice. When we entered the office, we were met by the very friendly and cheerful weekend manager, Julian. This is my first experience with renting storage; my boyfriend has had several units in LA, all of which were broken into repeatedly so he was understandably paranoid about security. Julian was patient with him and opened up more than one package of locks until my BF was satisfied with them being secure and in good working condition. I get the feeling we actually could have bought our own lock for much less, but it seems like it's a company policy to push the idea that we have to buy their locks and I just wanted to wrap this up and be done with it. Julian explained the policies and procedures and showed us the unit, and all went very smoothly. I feel confident that if we have any issues, the staff at this location will be helpful. My only concern about the property itself is that there didn't seem to be any security cameras in the halls of the storage units. I think I would be incredibly creeped out to go up there alone, worried about who I might run into in one of those winding little hallways. read more

In late July/early August, we worked with Julian and he was extremely helpful! We had a easy sign-up experience, he showed us a few units, helped us determine the size of storage unit we needed and walked us through all of the on-line vs... in-person paperwork! We were in and out within 30 minutes and loading our unit full to the rim! Each subsequent visit has been great too! We ran out of "tape", needed clothing boxes, etc... Julian was around and able to help us! Every time we pop into the Building to load / unload something new, elevators are on time and we are able to accomplish our task! read more

I wasn't thrilled to be moving all of her ***** but duty called. I got all the paperwork taken care of quickly and precisely.
