It was that cheesy really bad smell that was in there for the 6 months I rented; it never went away. The opening times are inconvenient for someone who works all day. In short: look for a better and serious company; the only nice thing I can say is that the toilet was clean and that the guys working there were nice overall. Icing on the cake! The building is old, the customers seem.. worn but who cares? They don't have theft issues and I only need it for a short time. When touring units, the representative first showed me a fully intact unit, then offered to show one with a large hole in the wall (approximately 2 ft x 2 ft) but initially could not recall the lock code. After returning from the office, a different code was provided for an adjacent unit before the correct code for the damaged unit (F404) was eventually used during lease signing. I also purchased the optional $15/month text alert service for motion notifications, but received no response to calls or texts when alerts were triggered. Follow-up complaints were met with limited resolution, and attempts to reach higher management proved difficult: the 877 customer service line provided an incorrect number for the regional manager, and no contact information was available for further escalation. Additionally, the local office line (206.776.2105) resulted in extended hold times. Based on this experience, I recommend considering other options such as Public Storage, located less than a mile away at 2811 NW Market St, Seattle, WA 98107. There are currently 120sq ft units listed at $156/month. If you are 6 days late, you face a fee of $44. If you are 30 days late, they begin the auction process in which case you have to pay a $200 fee. They are more interested in getting you in cheap, raising your rate quick and forcing evictions for quick turn around. As the manager told me, "Storage isn't meant to be a long term thing, you're only supposed to be here for a few months. We have people with the same size unit as you that have been here for years that are paying $400-500".

I see by other reviews that some people have had problems, and I can't speak to that, but compared to the storage company where I, myself, last rented a space, Ballard CubeSmart is many cuts above.
