This storage facility is convenient (close to major roads & tollway) and fairly well maintained…read moreoverall. It is in a fairly safe neighborhood, tucked away on a residential street. The office staff (manager?) is very nice to deal with. My unit is facing the fence and for awhile, the floodlights on that side of the building didn't work, but eventually they got fixed. My biggest complaint is... PRICE INCREASES HERE ARE REDICULOUS! Don't count on being here year after year unless you want to pay SIGNIFICANTLY MORE in the future. I had a 50% INCREASE IIN 2021 ALONE!... was paying $123.00 per month in January 2021 and by December 2021, I was paying $184.00 per month. That is a 50% increase, and it was WITHIN 1 YEAR!! I've rented space in the past from other local Public Storage facilities and they all have raised prices rather quickly, but nothing like this facility has! I have a feeling that the local Public Storage facilities slam the long-timers with BIG price increases because they figure you probably won't move after all that time, even with a huge price increase. Now paying over $2,200 per year for my unit makes me re-evaluate the need to keep stuff in storage. I could probably throw out most of what I store and then re-buy new if it's needed and still save money! Time for a change!

The $1 "first month fee" only applies to some units and does NOT include two required add-on's: (A) a $25 admin fee and a (B) $20 lock for the unit. So while you get a month of rent almost for free, there is fine print that costs $45. Just a heads-up on that. The climate-controlled units are really nice; the hallways use motion sensors to light as you walk around and it's 55-degrees all day and night, so perfect regardless of outside conditions. There are no electrical outlets understandably, so if you need light, you can store/bring an electric light source just in case the hallway lighting isn't enough for you. This is a big place, so the front office is kind enough to borrow out [upon request] two flatbed carts so you can roll stuff away from your vehicle. Nice touch! I recommend reserving online to get the best price and availability. This location has an awkward entrance and exit onto Irving Park Road (it only works well if you're headed west and then continuing west, haha). Of course, that's what a U-Turn is for... :-)

I called to ask questions, and received somebody on a different border who played the card that they couldn't understand me or my questions. 100% bait and switch. I also had a problem with the representative on site. I specifically declined insurance when I signed up, and I was given insurance anyway. I work in insurance; I didn't select it. The manager knew what she was doing when she created my account. I do agree they are a bit shady.
