I had a terrible experience with Public Storage at 3550 Peachtree Pkwy, Suwanee, GA 30024. I called just to get a quote, but instead of providing one, they went ahead and created a reservation for me--without my consent. Then the emails started coming. I called to cancel the reservation, and the gentleman who answered assured me it would be taken care of. It wasn't. After moving out of the country, I received yet another email about the same reservation. International calls aren't cheap, but I had to call again to cancel it. Once more, I was told it would be handled. A week later--one day before the so-called reservation--I got another email. This time, I managed to access their system online and cancel it myself. To confirm, I called the location, only to be transferred to another rep whose phone line was so full of static that it was physically painful to listen to. Instead of addressing the issue, she just kept asking, "Can you hear me now?" over and over. This entire experience was unprofessional, frustrating, and borderline deceptive. It feels like this company deliberately avoids canceling reservations hoping people will just give up and go through with a reservation they never wanted in the first place. Even their phone system reflects their lack of quality. I would not recommend this location--or Public Storage in general--to anyone. read more

Raised the rates for us twice in a year. Feels like a bait and switch to us, moving out to a different unit that hopefully will be more predictable and stable with pricing. read more

My fiancé and I rented a 10 x 10 storage unit with the property manager Gary. Upon arriving I did the walk-through everything was fine and then it got time for him to give me the keys to the lock and that's where everything changed. He was very adamant about keeping a copy of the key telling me that it will cost anywhere from $65-$80 if I were to lose the key and they had to replace it. I said I needed both keys because my fiancé and I would be coming at different times and he took one of the keys and said well then I'll give it back after he cleaned the unit. However we had just walked the unit and it was clean. I felt unsafe! I felt unsafe to keep my things there and I felt like he took the key and made a copy so the very next day I moved to a different location after reporting him. I was told to go to the facility and ask him to do a Vacate and when I asked him he got upset and he said that he could cancel my other reservation and give me a 10 x 15 better yet a 10 x 20 unit at the same price they were giving me a 10 x 15 unit. It was almost as if he was doing everything he could to keep me at that location because he had kept a copy of the key to the lock that was provided by Public Storage. After trying to vacate he said I would not be refunded everything and that he would have to look into it and get back to me and then I got on the phone with their corporate office and spoke to a woman named Connie who documented my concerns and complaints and said that she would issue a refund which will be posted to my account within 5 to 8 days. He went into the system and then said I will get my refund minus a $24 administration fee because I told him I would not leave without a vacate notice. It took him an hour and a half to close me out of the system and then when he closed me out of the system he said that I will no longer be getting a refund of any kind. This guy is very strange and possibly running a side business because according to Public Storage they do not charge $65-$80 to replace locks and keys. I highly recommend not renting a storage space at 3550 Peachtree Pkwy. Suwannee, GA as long as this guy Gary is the property manager. He did refund my money for the boxes I purchased only. I'm writing this review mainly in part due to the service given by Gary. I've rented storage units quite a few times in my life, and can't say I've had bad service (actually decent service on my last two) but Gary was very professional in how he handled our needs and going over expectations (which I've never had somebody do before). He made the rental experience easy and fast. He also allowed us to retrieve our own lock for the unit and gave us access to a dolly for moving. The facility isn't that bad, maybe average as far as facilities go but the service is excellent. Highly recommend! read more

Great experience here. Gary the manager on staff was extremely professional, courteous, and helpful to make my moving experience as pleasant as it could be as far as moving can go. I had rented a dolly and the truck rental forgot to put it in the truck. Gary went out of his way to find one for me. My storage space was clean and it's in a gated facility. Great storage because of COVID getting my storage was easy as 123. It took me little time to find the storage that fit my needs. Once I arrived after being text that my storage was ready all the paperwork was available for me online and sent to my email. I got there the storage was easy to find it was very clean!!! My storage unit was clean as well. I'm very satisfied with my unit and I most definitely would recommend this Public Storage to family and friends hands down!!! read more

The manager at this place is super helpful and friendly. He's a rare find. He helped appropriately size our storage for us, walked us through everything, explaining costs and options and multiple times went above and beyond to help us with somethings. Beware of "mandatory" insurance from this location, which per PS customer service is NOT mandatory. I made a reservation via the website, which disclosed the move-in rate and also received an email disclosing the same rate. An agent from the location phoned me and confirmed the rate and set an appointment to complete the paperwork. Upon arriving at the location the staff were friendly, but then I was presented with a requirement to purchase insurance through Public Storage for $11/month. I explained that my homeowner's insurance covers my belongings in a storage unit (far over the amount of coverage that the PS policy would provide) and I could provide my policy information. The agent insisted that I must purchase the insurance for the first month and could then have it waived for the following months after providing POI. They had no logical arguments, did not provide a waiver form, and did nothing to try to keep me as a customer. Needless to say I did not take the unit, and on returning home I called the PS customer service line and confirmed that it is not necessary to purchase insurance through PS provided I have coverage. This felt very much like a hidden "up-charge" and revenue producer for the location and I wanted to give a heads-up to anyone considering a unit here that they'll be asked to pony up an additional $11/month to get a unit. read more

We rented our unit in January 2015 and they were kind and helpful. We have paid each month and been back to our unit 1 time in 11 months. During this time we have had several unpleasant occasions with them. Today November 22nd we get a call that our NOVEMBER payment is past due and that we are on the schedule to have our lock cut and stuff sold at auction tomorrow. WHAT? I thought I paid this month. But are you kidding me that we are not even 23 days into the month and we are 19 days past due and they are going to cut our locks and sell our stuff? I am not saying we don't owe our bill or that I wasn't wrong. I thought I paid it and trust me the $25.00 late fee is a spank on the hand I deserve but they are going to cut our lock and auction our stuff when I am past due 19 days and it is the same month? Shame on me for having a crazy busy life this month and forgetting. I would have known and paid when I signed online on December the 3rd to pay Decembers payment but thank God for his "courtesy call" as he called it or our stuff would have been sold. God forbid we are human and make a late payment because we thought we paid it. What if I had been in the hospital today and not gotten the call? Our stuff would have been sold. FOR not paying November and November is not even over yet. Just doesn't seem believable. I am going to do everything I can to get our stuff out as soon as possible and cancel our unit. Not bad enough they went up on our unit almost $20 a month after us first renting it. Then saying well the county went up on their taxes so they had to do that. OK Whatever, if you are thinking of renting from a Public Storage make sure you are aware of these facts. And if you apply online make sure you know they will also add required insurance of $17.00 a month to your unit also before allowing you to lease. Online doesn't tell you that when signing up but allows you to pay and complete the registration. You find out when you go in to actually make the final signature on the papers. I am not one that just gives someone a bad review but I have had it with Public Storage. read more

Find a more reputable company!! We had a unit reserved, confirmation number, had seen the unit, and when I came to sign the papers DURING OUR HOLD TIME, was told our unit was GIVEN TO SOMEONE ELSE. NOT MY FAULT- I did everything I was told to do, but manager would not honor our reservation!! Lied about calls to our house- we have caller id and absolutely no records of any call made to our home about the unit being given to someone else. Now there are no comparable units available to us at this location or anywhere else in the vicinity...AND WE ARE MOVING. We were promised a unit, reserved a unit, and it meant NOTHING. THANKS PUBLIC STORAGE SUWANEE FOR COMPLETELY F-ING UP OUR MOVE!! read more

The facility itself it extremely well kept & clean, but the units do not have lights. (the reason for only 4 stars). However, we chose this place over other storage facilities in the area because of the on site manager, Gary. He was absolutely amazing! Professional, courteous, thorough, friendly, patient, innovative in his solutions... I could go on & on. Because he is the on site manager, we chose to store our things here even though the available unit was not our preferred size or location. The company is lucky to have such an incredible employee as their face to the customer. read more

I rented a 10x10 unit at this location in April of 2015 at a price of $78.00 month. By October the rent was increased to $92.00 with the suggestion of another increase soon. When trying to discuss pricing, the service representative hung up on me. read more

Storage Manager Gary was courteous and helpful - overall had a good experience. Storage location is good, manager is very responsive to queries/calls - that helps. Also Renters insurance or home owners insurance accepted - so that's a plus. read more
