I can't believe how helpful the staff is. I lost the keys to my storage unit and had to leave in the morning. Michelle made sure that I was taken care of and called the area manager Heather and explained my situation. Heather was able to get over within minutes and got me into my storage units. I've had a storage unit here for a while now and needed to store more items. My unit was completely full. I wasn't sure about getting another small unit or transferring to a larger unit. I called and spoke with Michelle. Michelle was a God send. She was so very helpful. I asked all my questions and she was able to answer all of them. WE WERE ROBBED!!! Staff wasnt helpful AT ALL!!!!! When she went to go get the keys to unlock our unit because it was left open from theives she went to her car! Suspicious! Im starting to think these robberies were all inside jobs! She accused me of not locking my storage correctly and there were NO cameras near the storage door and none in the hallway! This is my first public storage In my life. It was easy to set up and I got a good deal.

INFESTED WITH RATS!! We had our things in storage for 6 months, and when we cleared everything out, there was RATS droppings everywhere! When I unpacked at home, there were Dead Rats in boxes. The person working at the storage said it was our fault for bringing in candy!! Really??!! When we tried to get compensated through our insurance we paid for through Public Storage, we had to describe every single item in detail, provide photos and receipts, and even then they only allow $250 for damages, Plus you have to pay a $100 deductible, so all that work and stress for $150... definitely not worth it! Our damages exceeded that amount by far:( I want to make sure everybody knows about this place because you definitely don't want to take your items here. read more

I had to quickly move out of my 2 bedroom over the summer and I rented a space from Michele at this location. I got all of my stuff in at the last minute before closing and would you believe I could y start my car? Left the trunk open and it killed my battery. Not only did Michele supply the jumper cables but allowed me the time to get the car started. Most recently, my car was broken into in oakland and my wallet was stolen. I'll be late paying my storage.. I was warmly comforted when Michele told me "Don't worry Ms. Turner. I'll push the date out to give you some cushion." One less thing for me to worry about this week. You can't buy customer service of this magnitude these days. I recommend these folks for storage needs. Thank you! read more

This storage facility has mice! I recently saw mouse traps on the exterior of the building next to the door I entered through. I have had storage in this facility for way too long and not once was I informed of a possible mouse problem. Since a previous post in July of 2018 indicated mice in her unit, obviously management knew of the problem at least one year ago and never advised me or probably anyone else to check their storage unit. Apparently, they simply don't care. I never took out the insurance through Public Storage but even if I had there is a $100 deductible along with extensive documentation required. The mice left feces and urine all over my storage unit. They ate through, urinated on and defecated all over a queen aero bed, bags of clothing, tarps and multiple other items. Most of my stuff has to go to the dumps. Rodents can be contained with diligence and apparently Public Storage doesn't' care about it's clients enough to provide that service. My suggestion to anyone thinking about placing their items here is to not do it. read more

What You Need To Know Before Renting ANY Storage Unit Documentation is key. 1) Print out Price you are being quoted, coupons, etc. 2) Check e-mail Confirmation of reservation to verify that you are being given correct price that you're expecting. When you move into unit, bring all proof of documentation; Don't rely on computers doing their job because it's not as accurate as humans doing the work themselves. 3) Read everything, make sure to check price of unit that you are being given, and that you are aware of all stipulations in contract. Get insurance, it's worth it because if you face auction, they cut off lock that cost $19.50, and workers do go through your stuff. Take pictures of how everything is positioned in unit. Keep in mind that the unit only protect themselves, not you or your belongings. Although, there are other locations that appear otherwise, like the one on Humbolt located in Vallejo, provides excellent service that is much more different and competent than services rendered @ 265 Mini Drive. Make sure that surveillance camera's are working and in-use. I was told they have cameras working yet it's never displayed on screen in office. 4) Never take their word for it, GET IT IN WRITING! The unit that I reserved online did not match the price that I was quoted. Storage Manager Lois performed online search, and verified that it was different price than what I was give. I then asked her if she would honor price, she said that she would, but she didn't. she didn't even give me the run down of everything. She only highlighted certain spots and said sign here, here, and here. I was in and out that office long enough for her to print out paper work and sign documents for her copy. She didn't do the same for my own personal copy. I discovered the mistake 2 months later, have tried to clear it up, but she no longer worked for the company. I taken it all the way to the district manager, who was no help, and he refused to give to me the contact information for CORPORATE Office, then he said that if I wanted to write a letter that he would personally deliver it to corporate himself. Because of price was not honored I faced auction twice, but manage to save belongings, third time stuff was being auctioned, I was not notified, and the address that I had given them, was not in their computer system, when I personally walked into their office and filled out-notice of change of address February 2013, and I vividly recall customer Rep inputting info in system while I'm filling out the form. Anyone who feels wronged by services rendered by this company should contact me. read more

Don't trust anything they say before you sign up if it is not written down. I rented based on a discounted rate that they told me would not change until I vacated. After several months they started increasing the monthly rent. When I told them what I was told they said they didn't know anything about that and would not honor it. Their word is worth nothing.
