While I'm typically a Krogers girl, I have to say that this Publix is pretty good. It's always clean, the selection is much improved and there's a good wine selection. Definitely eat something before you go, because they apparenty fry a mean chicken and the smell always makes me feel hungry when I enter. Thankfully there's always a line for the chicken, so I have the perfect incentive to keep it moving. For those who love a good sale, check out the front of the store. Unlike most stores, Publix actually puts the good stuff on a good sale on a regular basis. The one crazy weird thing about this store is that they attempted to be all MODERN by having a GREEN MARKET aisle. Excited huh? Well, it would be great if the other side is not covered with CANDY. Conveniently located near my house so this is where I do most of my shopping. The store is clean, the staff friendly, the bakery has expanded their offerings, the deli is good - love the fried chix! The produce is fresh and there is a nice assortment. Meat department is standard - thin or thick cut/bone-in or boneless, etc. I have noticed more Greenwise fresh meats which I hope they continue to expand. Nice beer and wine selection. Only gripe about this store is that when you stop after work, you may experience long checkout lines. The cashiers are nice, but clearly in no rush. read more

It's a Publix. That typically means higher prices but a better shopping ambiance. And this Publix certainly offers higher prices and OK ambiance. So why four stars: This Publix for reasons I cannot explain really, has some of the best fried chicken you'll find. Why, again, I have no idea. But aside from the long lines during lunch and after work to get this Southern delicacy, the Chicken is well worth the wait. (Like on a good day would put most places out of business.) read more

I like this Publix on Glenwood Avenue, but what I don't like is the sandwich making line requires you spend about 45 minutes in line!! They're slow and /or always shorthanded! This is a perfectly acceptable grocery store. I've never really had a problem with stuff not being in stock - I just don't expect too much when I go in there. It's great for your standard staples, at least. I will, however, say that the folks at the SunTrust inside are wonderful, to the point where I was mildly upset when I heard they got knocked over, and was definitely kind of sad to see bulletproof glass installed. read more

The customer service at this Publix is awesome. They went above and beyond in kindness this weekend. We went shopping and realized as we went to the register that our coupons were for the Charleston location. Denita at customer service was kind and outgoing and said she would take care of everything. She saw when we were in line and came right over. They have a great selection of various ethnic foods. (It's close to a small farmer's market). The seafood department always smells like bleach, which could be a good thing or not. The best service of all groceries in Atlanta by far! read more

Was slowly biting into a banana bran mini publix muffin and was biting into a plastic chard of about the thickness of my index finger. I called the store to let them know about the safety (its very sharp) and i got transferred 3 times. The muffins get made from a warehouse and shipped frozen to the stores so its not just this publix but any publix could have these chards. Very dangerous. read more

Pretty good spot for a quick stop in. Wish it had a better selection of produce. Prices equal that of Whole Foods without the quality. But it's closer and easier to get in and out. Most if not all of the fish is farm raised; so I don't buy the fish. Not sure of the quality of the meat. Customer service can be hit or miss. LOCATED AT THE GLENWOOD PUBLIX (STORE #783) I have purchased cakes from Publix before but this was my first and last time placing an online order from this location. I ordered a Double Numbered Birthday Cake for my daughter's 31st birthday and party a month in advance. When I picked up the cake it looked like it had been decorated by an unprofessional amateur cake decorator. My only hope is that it tastes much better than it looks. Since this particular cake called for advance ordering I was stuck with a hideous looking cake that looked nothing like it did online and at a cost to me of $70.00 and they did not even include the cake cutter. I will continue to order cakes from Publix but NOT from the Glenwood Store Bakery ever again. read more

A friend picked me up some Mardi Gras wings at the Publix on Glenwood and a box of dripping greasy chicken is what I got for my money. Really Publix? Really? I took the chicken back and asked for the manager. The bakery/deli manager came out. I showed her the mess and she asked if I had received my refund. I said yes. She took the bag with no apologies and when I asked for the store manager she said she would handle it. I'm a fan of Publix and this is the closest for all of us in East Atlanta. When I first moved here I found that this store seemed a little neglected and not the usual Publix I was used to in Florida. Recently, they had an update and the store seems cleaner and I've noticed customer service has improved. They have an awesome deli counter and I'm there often for a Sub. One of the things I never noticed over the years is that you can order any Boar's Head meat out of the display counter and you are not limited to the basic Turkey, Italian, etc. One of my new favorites is Salsalitto Turkey and Horseradish Cheese. I can't believe I've gone all these years ordering a basic Turkey as the menu suggests. Parking is good and I find the prices competitive. They differ from other local competitors by offering cleaner stores and better customer service. read more

This is perhaps the WORST grocery store in town. DO NOT go here unless you are desperate, because this place will certainly leave you in desperation! We went one night, and they didn't even have ground turkey!!! They are regularly out of the most ordinary and expected to be stocked items (i.e., cheddar cheese, yogurt, ground turkey) and the staff can be a bit rude at times. I would recommend going to a different grocery store unless you are in a hurry and have to pick up a few NORMAL items, because if you are doing your shopping here, you are sure to go home empty handed. read more

I go to this location because it is closer to me. I definitely have seen better locations that look cleaner and are actually stocked with things I need. If I am supposed to still be impressed by Publix and their over priced items, this location does not do it justice. Everyone raves about Publix chili, I finally get it and it tasted burnt and dry. No amount if sour cream, cheese or water could save it. Chicken and wild rice soup was great. The cakes are not as great as they once were. They have a gourmet cheese section that even Walmart can top. They get 2 stars because of the staff! They are wonderful! read more

I can't believe I've lived here for 4 years and have not reviewed this location that I frequent to the tune of at least 3 times per week. Having said that...I expect a lot more from Publix, in general. This location does not live up to the reputation that is Publix. It suffers in that it is a smaller, neighborhood style store, in a neighborhood that could be so much better serviced by a premium version. All of the employees are very friendly with the exception of the deli, which is hit-or-miss. The deli seems to have a high turn over, and I estimate that out of 60% of our visits we leave their dissatisfied. Long, slow lines, they act bothered to slice the meat as requested, rarely have adequate stock of prepared chicken (tenders). Thankful for the 40%. Yes yes the prices here at Publix are a little high however the environment here at the East Lake Publix is TOP NOTCH compared to some of the other grocery stores in the surrounding areas. The employees here are always friendly and responsive esp the deli counter and the store itself is spotless. They may not have the conv late night hours Kroger does but the parking lot is easier to navigate and no one has chased me through it trying to swap me food stamps for cash. read more

Waited almost 30 minutes for a sandwich from the deli. The deli staff was extremely lax about the long line that was forming.

This store REALLY needs to take a look at the Deli section. Never had an issue with staff pretty cordial actually. My issue moreso concerns efficiency. The lines are long which translates to more than 20-30 minutes. Can this please be addressed!! read more

I love my neighborhood grocery store. Clean store, friendly and responsive staff, rainbow clientele, easy parking. Hipster Kroger at Edgewood is huge and has a great wine and cheese selection but you have to deal with that dreadful shopping center and the traffic around it. Publix subs are great but sometimes the wait for one can be annoying. A shoutout also to the nice crew at the pharmacy and the fact that two of my three regular prescriptions are free here. I wish somebody would just raze the package store on the outparcel and chase the crackheads away. read more

It sucks that this is the best of all the grocery stores in my area. The customer service is sub-par. They are rude, slow, and inconsistent. And the Suntrust bank inside now has a machine doing all the work and it always has problems. Again, the people at the bank are rude and can't count...go figure. Its good to have choices and I love that both Publix and Kroger are within close proximity of my home. I look forward to the attention to service when shopping at Publix. With their higher prices you get what you pay for. Their deli is always well stocked and their fresh bread and pastries from the bakery is a plus. I wish it was better. It is not the Publix I remember from my days in Fl. Not much of a selection at the bakery or Deli. The meat is fresh. Typically I will come in wanting to buy something and need to adjust to what is actually available. So that is annoying. With Kroger opening a mile down Glenwood - Publix will need to step up their game. It's relatively safe over there in the parking lot. But there's an occasional 'situation' and the police helicopters will buzzing around. read more

I am a regular Publix shopper and for the most part the associates are very friendly. However, some of the folks in the deli area, in particular the chicken counter are very rude, especially the middle age black lady (and I'm also a middle aged lady). Her attitude is the ABSOLUTE worse. It is very evident that she hates her job. I have had to talk myself out of causing a seen because of her poor customer service. She is not at all a good representation of Publix. Her attitude is more suitable for a jail worker. read more

Purchased an oven roasted chicken from the deli for dinner. Got home...to discover no wings or legs on this chicken I paid full price for. Very very disappointed. Always takes forever to get a sub from this location. I literally waited over 30 minutes yesterday for one as they had 6 people in the deli seemingly doing anything they could to not make subs. This location is a stain on the Publix brand. The generally higher cost of shopping at Publix is usually a small price for the outstanding service typical of the Publix brand. The employees are rude, refuse to assist customers and management is oblivious. Culture comes from the top so if employees are allow to be unpleasant & rude it's a reflection of the store management. Publix is known for/advertises heavily it's great public service. And you can find it in every department of this particular store except for the DELI. As we cue up in a long line to be served, it seems the employees are walking around looking for anything to do except wait on a customer. And they run out of certain items regularly (wings!). And some have snarky attitudes. (I'm talking to you, Jennifer.) Publix delis used to be the only good ones in town, but Kroger is stepping up and catching up! read more
