This was once my go-to store, but I've found that Lowe's Foods is more 'me.' A bit further of a drive, but worth it. The past two visits? Not a single employee acknowledged me when I'd excuse myself or say hi. It's like nobody cares about the customers. Now let's talk about the real reason for the review! I stopped in to purchase a prescription and waited at a sign that says something about 'stand here for customer privacy.' Funny thing - I could hear and see everything that the woman at the counter was purchasing and saying. Privacy, right? Anyways, there are multiple work stations in the 'pick up' area but only one actively in use. While waiting my turn, one of the many workers behind the counter did stop what she was doing to go and assist the person that arrived via the drive thru. Great! I had already been waiting but no sense of urgency with that. Cool. Finally, it's my turn. I said hello and was cut off by the worker who went straight to business. I attempted to hand the worker my government-issued ID - which has both my name and birthdate on it. She says she doesn't need it and asks for my birthdate - again. Now there's someone behind me and I know that she heard my information, so I asked why they couldn't just use the info off of my ID. Both she and her coworker want to argue and not listen to my logic - they just say that it's policy. Duh! But what if I couldn't talk? Wouldn't you want me to write it down? Or would you ask for my ID? The logic makes no sense. A sign that says to stand within earshot of verbal communication where your other customers can easily see and hear private information...for my privacy. But you won't let me show you my ID instead. Don't you have to be a doctor to be a pharmacist? You'd think that my logic would make sense to a guy with a doctorate degree. Needless to say, between the rude workers who don't even acknowledge customers and the illogical practices of the pharmacy, I've decided to stop going there - once again. Oh, as I left, I was close to colliding with a man who had numerous articles of cleaning gear on a cart. I smiled and motioned for him to continue and said excuse me. So he starts walking and then stops - in the middle of the aisle - to talk to three of his coworkers. I stopped abruptly and waited a few seconds, but I guess he had forgotten that I was behind him. I said excuse me and smiled. His female counterpart even pointed at me and motioned for him to move, but he kept talking. I said excuse me 2 more times before I had to wedge my way between them, while still saying that excuse me. What kind of people is Publix hiring these days? What happened to human decency and respect for one another - especially your customers who are trying to be the better person by smiling and greeting y'all? read more

Heading home from my travels, Mrs. K. sent me a shopping list. As this Publix is just off the Interstate, it was convenient to stop here. Nice and large parking lot that was clean and there were zero carts in the corrals. Inside the store, bright and well lit. I found the shelves to be tidy and organized. Nothing missing and no "holes" in the stock that I could see. I had no trouble finding everything on the list. Publix is a bit more expensive than some other stores but it on par with Harris Teeter, the other premium chain in the area. There are BOGOs throughout the store and sometimes you'll luck out and it's something on your list. Other times, it's not cheap. But it is a very pleasant full-service grocery with the best deli, a great butcher and excellent produce. I've never had a problem with anything I've bought at a Publix from subs to dairy to fresh fish. The bakery is always awesome. I've been shopping at Publix on Benfield for 10 years and was always impressed with the standards of customer service, but sadly, there has been a shift within the last year. Very few smiling faces. When I shopped this evening, the cashier was on her phone and did not say a word to me as I was being checked out. In fact, she didn't even look at me. It was as if I didn't exist. I have frequented this store over the years and keep coming back. It's generally well stocked and clean and the workers are friendly. I noticed that they have a pineapple corer in the produce section which is pretty neat. The tops of the pineapple have already been cut, so you simply put one in the machine and let it do it's thing. They have clear containers nearby to place the corer pineapple in. I'm not sure whether or not the machine peels the outside. The only complaint I had was that I couldn't find evaporated milk. In most stores it is usually in the baking aisle with the sugar and cake, etc. Oddly enough, at this store canned milk is in a totally different aisle with cereal. Did an early morning shopping run today and it was truly and always is a pleasant experience. Regardless of it being the bakery, produce, meats or seafood is ALWAYS fresh and of good quality. There was not one single person that I encounter this morning that wasn't helpful. items age always fully stocked. If you don't see it and associate will find it for you. I had my personal thoughts about this chain but they've quickly changed my might. You'll get what you pay for and it's well worth it. read more

I absolutely love this Publix location! They staff is always friendly and if they don't have something they do their best to check to see when it'll be back in or when it will be back in stock. The reason I visit Publix as often as I do is because it's one of those lunch spots people don't think about going too. The baking is normally stocked with amazing treats, the deli has an assortment of meats and cheeses for subs and warps, and the prepared foods has everything from chicken wings to ribs. I would surely recommend going to Publix for an inexpensive, yet delicious lunch. read more

It's always so clean and the employees are friendly. I visit this location frequently as it is in close to my home. The seafood selection is always fresh! & is the one of the main reasons I choose Publix over any other place. Easy to place cake and bakery options - can give less than a 24 hour notice and they will accommodate you. Deli section offers subs and wing, tender and other food combo options. Just about every year, around 5pm on Christmas Eve, I decide that it's about time to start my Christmas Dinner shopping. In years past, I've of course had to go to 3-4 grocery stores just to find the bare essentials due to all of them being so busy and shopped. Well, this year I was able to do all my grocery shopping in one trip because Publix had everything. When I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING. Make no mistake, I did 100% of my Christmas dinner shopping two hours before they closed. Heavy Cream, fresh green beans, a whole fresh (non-frozen) turkey breast, corn muffin mix, sister schubert's rolls, EVERYTHING! Not only was there nothing on my list out of stock, everything was actually completely full. It was a sight to be seen, especially for someone who works in the grocery industry, that they kept everything so full. As I walked through the store, the sheer amount of staff was incredible. Three different stockers keeping the non-perishable grocery aisles full, as well as associates on both the baking and the canned goods aisles simply making sure customers were finding everything. It just isn't like anything you'd see at the other grocery stores in Charlotte. Publix always has been a step above everyone else service-wise, but I was blown away this day. And the prepared food bar was soo good love the chicken and the potato wedges-we moved here recently and didn't know how to use the system and if I needed a loyalty card of anything to workers helped me explained everything to me and even grabbed me some flyers on ways to save $ with their app! 5 minute trip in. I came in with one purpose, buying the chocolate ganache supreme cake. The nice lady who got my cake for me told me where candles were just in case as she pulled the cake out and boxed it for me in two graceful movements. She also made sure to tell me that this cake needs to be refrigerated. Then she handed me a complementary cake server which was super convenient because I'm not sure where mine are at home. The fella who checked us out made sure we found everything alright and was polite yet fast. I love these stores. :D read more

This Publix is nice, big, and clean. It's also in a good location with multiple access. The parking lot is massive, and is shared by other businesses in the shopping center. Since this store is still fairly new, not all the offices are occupied yet. The SO and I came in here to get ingredients for a seafood dinner. The lady at the seafood counter is awesome! She helped us pick some fresh items and even let us try cooked conch, which she steamed and seasoned with Old Bay. We ended up buying some conch, too. All the staff members we encountered (bakery, register, etc) were also very friendly and helpful. This store has well stocked shelves, and was pretty easy for us to find items. As usual, Publix bakery never disappoints. In addition to our dinner ingredients, we also left with not one, not two, but three baked goods. All delicious! We will be shopping at this location in the future, especially for our seafood and bakery needs! read more

This store has drug addicts working in it. The deli at this Publix is an absolute nightmare because of the strung out workers. The line to get a sub was backed up for 30 minutes because a deli worker named Julian was completely strung out on hard drugs. (And no this wasn't simply weed, he was on HARD drugs.) He moved incredibly slow and kept staring at the ceiling. He had to ask me to repeat my order at least 10 times because he would completely zone out every time I started talking. He couldn't speak coherently so I couldn't understand any of his mumbling. It took him over 10 minutes to make a simple sandwich. This guy needs to be fired asap. I know working in a grocery store deli isn't the most glamorous job, but that gives nobody an excuse to tweak on drugs during a shift. Beware their bakery team!!! On 7/26 I placed an order to pick up a bday cake the next day, 7/27 at 11am. I show up the next day at 11:15a to pick it up, they have my waiting for 10-15 mins while they all "search" for my cake. Every two mins a diff bakery associate kept asking me which cake it was, or the name it's under, etc very frustrating!! Turns out they never even made the cake! Soooo very disappointing! They offered to pick a cake that was already made and they would take give me a discount. They were not apologetic at all about their team member messing up. I demand the cake I ordered and they ended up giving it to us for free. It was very inconvenient we had to re arrange our plans to come back two hours later for pick up. Smh read more

So.....I know it's opening weekend for the new Publix across the street from the Harris Teeter that I have shopped at for 8+ years, but HT was deserted and Publix was packed. There were more cashiers at HT than customers, and for the first time ever they actually had people to bag groceries. They still don't offer to take them out to the car though. I only went in because they had 3 items for free with the loyalty card. Then I went across the street to Publix. Parking lot full, cars circling to find a spot. I know there are many people trying out the new store, but I also saw quite a few full carts, not just people picking up a few things. The staff as usual was great, samples on every aisle, people stocking shelves and walking customers to the products they were looking for. At the registers, they had every line open, with of course somebody bagging groceries. The young lady that bagged my order was just starting her first shift, so a manager was giving her tips on how to bag. Then he reassured her to keep 2 hands on the cart, and to stay 2 feet back from the other customers as she walked. The cashier gladly accepted my Harris Teeter $10 off $50 coupon as well as the other coupons I had. Is Publix less expensive than HT? I'm a careful shopper, so I buy where the price is better, which sometimes is HT. But overall, the lack of service at HT will keep me as a loyal Publix customer, just like back in Miami. read more

My new go to spot for items that I choose not to order through my grocery pickup at another food chain. The hot deli chicken wings here are great and reasonably priced. Their fresh meat section is amazing. I swear I have not seen chicken legs this fresh in a while. I visited this store 3 times in one week and that's when I knew it was meant to be. So glad that Publix is right around the corner from me. They are hands down my favorite grocery store. The fruit is extremely fresh (reason why I visited) and reasonably priced. I also got a few smaller groceries that were also comparable in price while maintaining high quality. They have an extensive deli area- perfect for those like me that love making charcuterie boards! Customer service maintains to be amazing and extremely helpful. They offer Instacart- online shopping that can be delivered at your door. There is currently a special on the website. Overall, this is a great grocery store. While I will still venture into competitors' stores for better sales, Publix will now be my staple. read more

Where did all the nicest people ever go? Publix. I am blow away with how nice everyone is during the grand opening. It isn't all fluff. They were explaining to me how to choose the best fruit (what to look for). They also told me about some secret menu options (you can special request tons of stuff). The store is immaculate on the opening. Every row is full of perfectly squared boxes, cans, and produce. They have some nice freebies. I will try and post the calendar of events. Publix is my new favorite grocery store simply because of the amazing customer service! When I ordered a cake from there a few weeks ago, one of the clerks offered to hold it and follow me around the store to grab a few more items so I wouldn't have to hold it (the cake was amazing btw). When it was time to check-out several people greeted me and I didn't have to wait in line! Fast forward to today and the customer service was exceptional. I didn't know where the Velveeta was (this literally happens every time I go to a new grocery store) and one of the employees gladly walked to me to the exact location and then asked if I need help looking for anything else on the list. The clerk offered to take my groceries to the car but I declined. The store has a super large selection of fruits/vegetables and the prices aren't too bad especially for the Publix brand. They do a few weird things like in the chip aisle there are barely any prices labeled which is a little annoying but the cool thing is they do a lot of BOGO free items and you don't need to sign up for a card or anything the discounts are applied automatically. All in all--I will definitely do more grocery shopping here! read more

Publix has the best produce, deli and bakery. Cakes from here are standalone bakery level quality. Their prices are far better too! My friend needed a cake made for her son's birthday and other bakeries were charging her $200. Publix said they could make the same cake for $50! Their produce prices are far cheaper than Harris Teeter. For reference, a bunch of cilantro is $1.79 at HT but 59 cents at Publix. So excited for this new location to be open 5 minutes from our house. Good bye Harris Teeter! read more

Being that I'm from Miami, I grew up on Publix and their subs. This Publix is pretty good except for their deli!!!!! Every time I go they have only one person in line and it take 25 minutes to get a sub!!! And then when it's your turn, they always have to cut more meat/cheese because they never have any ready. The bad news is Publix items not on sale are over priced. The good news is that the sales are great and plentiful. I love the seafood counter here the best. I used to think that they sprayed an Old Bay mist over the seafood to make everyone who walks by hungry. I later learned that they will steam your food for you and that they use Old Bay among other spices while doing so. The seafood here is the freshest of all the grocery stores in the area. Customer service is best. Lastly, the store is bright. It feels clean. There are often samplings. The deli has a huge assortment of meat and cheese options for all of your sandwich needs. I'm probably here 3x a week and it's becoming my favorite grocery store in the area. read more
