This is my neighborhood Publix. It's on the smaller side, yet it still tends to have everything you need. The deli tends to get very packed during lunch, as it's centrally located in the Gables and we all know Miami loves a Pub Sub. They have the items you'd expect from your Publix- BOGO deals, pre marinated meals for easy meals, and ready to heat meals as well. My one issue with this Publix is the checkout experience. It doesn't matter the time, but it is always so congested in the front when you're going to pay. Even tho it gets a little crazy, I still find myself here weekly. Parking is ample in the lot. read more

I've come here more times than I can count for lunch to take back to my desk mostly, which means I'm walking distance. Although I have parked here a few times and there is a large parking lot, during peak commuting hours don't count on finding a spot. You might find yourself circling and waiting. Interestingly, there are some differences between Publix's even within the immediate vicinity and what you might find at one Publix in South Miami is not sold here or vice versa. This location has serves its down town Coral Gables audience with staples that have a Cuban twist. The store is definitely a bit dated, but it serves its purpose as the downtown Miracle Mile area already has many dining options. For lunch I typically I don't like prepared foods here, and I have had everything from sandwiches to rotisserie chicken (had the soup once which gave me food poisoning) so now I skip the deli counter and go to the fresh cut fruit, veggies, perhaps a small can of fresh oysters and a lemon, and then a gallon of water to wash it down. I like the convenience of this market to work as it is another option for me to purchase produce or whatever else I might need for my trip home where my closest option is a Winn Dixie about as old as this store. I can also get the occasional lottery ticket, which if I win, I won't be needing to work anymore, but until that time comes I'll be back. read more

I ordered a greek half sub on the publix website. I get to Publix and the sandwich isn't ready. I waited 20 minutes for a greek veggie wrap to be made because they also ran out of the flatbread and only had wraps. The sandwich is supposed to have avocado, instead they use a preserved guac/ avocado spread that has lemon in it and tastes old. Definitely not a good experience and would not recommend if you like fast service and fresh ingredients. read more

This Publix is right across the street from my house so it makes it very convenient. Just recently I tried the Instacart pickup and WOW! I literally chose the items, picked a pick-up time, notified them when I was on my way, and they were waiting outside with my items. I did not have to get down from the car or anything! It was the most gratifying thing. I didnt have to worry about long lines or parking (they have their own instacart parking). It was honestly instant gratification. The only thing I would improve about this Publix is having more cashiers during lunch because it becomes very busy during this time. The deli and sub line are wayyyy too long so youre better off ordering online before hand. Other than that, they have everything in this smaller Publix, except a pharmacy. One of my favorite Publix's located in Coral Gables. They always have the best pastries for breakfast(especially their croquetas) and an endless selection of cheese(perfect for a charcuterie board). I love coming here to get lunch on my break from work and doing some quick groceries. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only downside is that since it is very close to offices and businesses it gets really busy and the lines are long. I definitely love doing my shopping here. read more

Directly in the heart of the Gables, this expansive Publix location is both accessible and convenient. The layout here is a bit odd because it doesn't mimic the floor plan of the nearby locations which can make it confusing when you're searching for something specific. One way to avoid missing something is to literally walk every aisle. The corners are the most useful since you'll find key items you usually find within the aisles to be placed in the complete opposite direction. However, the parking situation is my favorite. They have a covered lot as well as the open area which almost resembles a parking garage but without annoying ramps or elevators. Plenty of Hispanic items are found here even though it's not a sabor location which is great. read more

I love coming to Le Jeune Publix. My most favorite Publix location. Everyone is always greeting me and asking if I need any help. They are often the friendliest and so helpful. Products are easily found. The store is always so clean, bright and neat. I shop at this location 3 times a week and I'm always greeted like a friend. The workers are always hard at work but when you ask them for help they drop everything and make sure that you found what you are looking for. Compared to any other Publix location this one is my favorite. Please keep up the great work and thank you for everything that you do. read more

Perfectly located across the street from my office, my lovely bride always takes advantage of this and texts me a list of last minute items required for the dinner du jour. It is also a great option to cross the street and pick me up lunch options for the week. Management is always available and the service is pretty good for the most part - A couple of the more "senior" cashiers have developed a bit of an attitude but most of the staff is quite pleasant and helpful. This is probably one of the most profitable Publix based on their smaller square footage, so I usually try to go by mid morning when it is less crowded, it is good to have that option, because when I go after work, it is a bit of a pain because of the limited space. read more

Just picked up a large instacart order. Missing a lot of food! When I finally got through to the store, I was told, didnt you check? WHAT?? They put the bags in the trunk and then close it. I'm supposed to check 50 items? WOW! Told there was nothing they can do. Too busy to look for my missing bags. Avoid this store. I've been shopping Publix since 2004. I would say where shopping is NOT a pleasure. On Monday 5/31 I was on line 7 for about 1 minute and the people in front said that the cashier said she was closed yet her light was on. I had to go to another line but complained that if the light is on you are open. I asked for a Manager and I heard her saying "Do not listen to that lady". That is not the first time that cashier was rude. About a week ago she was rude to my Mom who has dementia (I was with her). She has also been rude to my legally blind brother when I am helping him. I actually hate going to this Publix just because of people like that cashier; I only go there if I have no other option. Wow, for a more upscale area like Coral Gables, I certainly expected better. IMO, Eschel H's review is pretty much spot on: There's plenty of parking in front of this store in their large lot, and if that fills up (not likely), meter parking is available along both side streets, but that's really where the niceties end. This store is older, smaller, and a little bit dumpy looking vs. most Publix locations. The aisles seem narrow, the layout is a bit disjointed and though they do have a larger floral area vs. many others I've seen, this store lacks in many other areas, including coolers at the entrance showing their refrigerated specials like some other Publix stores have. Even the entrance to this store is a bit disjointed, with customers having to go to the far left or far right of the building to enter, rather than a front center entrance. I might run in here if in the area and needing something quick, but I'd rather hit Milam's, the other Publix locations which are both within a mile or so of this one, or even the dreaded Winn-Dixie about a mile away now that it's been remodeled and updated but is still skanky as hell. read more

More than half of the people shopping are employees of instacart, and they will literally run you over and just leave all of their carts in the middle of the aisle. This Publix is the exception that proves the rule. I am used to clean, well stocked Publix stores with friendly employees and fresh produce. However, this one at Coral Gables appears to be a random gas station shop in an abandoned back alley. The shopping carts were littered with paper, tissues. I found moldy melons, "petrified" bread and quite a few regular items are out of stock. Worse is that I have to literally beg for attention to get help. Once, an employee chooses to notice me, I have to wait again until she or he stop chatting with other staff. I prefer to spend 15 minutes more driving to shop at a different grocery store. read more

Just moved to coral gables from manhattan and never expected to buy--and devour--the fried chicken at the Publix near me on SW 27th Ave. I've eaten a lot of fried chicken and I have to say the 8-pc fried chicken at the deli section was amazing. Better than anything I've had in NYC, except for Popeyes of course. In general I think Publix is a v. good store--have never experienced so many cheerful and friendly employees! No joke! read more

I hate grocery shopping. Despise it, loath it, grocery shopping is the crabgrass on the lawn of life (to quote Snoopy). But since it's a necessary evil, and given that Mr LaLotto can't always assume the burden of domestic life, this is a store I wouldn't trade for any other. All Publix are most definitely not the same. True, they are - conveniently - organized similarly, generally carry the same items, etc buuuut nothing like your tried and true neighborhood supermarket. Same people, usually, something for which to commend those responsible for hiring and keeping employees. But nothing makes me feel more important than knowing we have a direct impact on their stocking procedures, repeatedly buying out the store's ginger beer or Orangina. Most importantly: wallet left at store checkout counter, wallet placed by responsible and good-hearted Publix employee, wallet successfully retrieved intact the next day. I know, took a whole day to figure out where it could have been left behind, for shame! I like the Cubana cashier who goes on and on about some injustice or another. I like the OCD item packer who will simply not let you bag items any which way. True, many times employees don't know where things are, but In a world of "that's not my job" employees it's always a plus that a manager is sought to resolve one's dilemma... so gotta love the managers who always knows where to find the trickiest of items: birthday candles, Colombian hot chocolate, coffee socks. This is a Publix that stocks hummus and pita (which calle 8 supermarkets generally do not), frozen Peruvian corn kernels (which most non-calle 8 supermarkets generally do not), and - thanks to us, I'm sure - many bottles of the best ginger beer to be had in Miami. read more

This is a small and old Publix in need of a serious remodel. They also need to look at how things are organized - varieties of the same thing are sold in multiple places around the store. For example, there are different kinds of pepperoni at the deli, on an end cap near the dairy case, and in the meat department. Egg nog is in two different areas, one near the eggs, the other by the milk. Instacart shoppers can never find anything and I always end up having to double back and look for things. The location is great and the staff are really nice, but the deli is super cramped and this place needs an overhaul. read more

Who is in charge here ??? Dirty floors, broken AC on June 25th and no one I spoke with cared. Lots of staff, but just standing around talking with each other, ignoring customers. Produce is old, shelves are not kept crisp and nicely presented. "Cold" white wine cooler on June 25th was HOT with over 60 bottles of wine cooking away inside. I spoke to the manage and she replied "we are waiting for a part" How about you clean the filthy compressor and coils ??? Our cashier was so slow that we all began laughing out loud....what a joke. I asked for paper and got plastic. The nice man who brought my groceries to the car almost fainted due to the 15 year old cart with a stuck wheel. This parking lot is ALWAYS packed!! People park there to avoid paying meters while shopping/eating in the area. Their bakery dept is the WORST! For the past 4 years (and still) I stop at this counter once a month to get cakes for my office and my experience EACH time has NEVER changed. Those ladies are ALWAYS yapping and leave me standing there for minutes even after they've made eye contact with me. I've even seen different managers talking with them (or just standing there) instead of telling the ladies to STFU and tend to the customer. When they finally acknowledge me, they're NEVER friendly- and you would think they would be nice (at LEAST) to a familiar face/loyal customer but NO. One year I ordered my daughter's 2nd Birthday cake from them. The size was wrong and they wrote "2nd" in Spanish- which I would've been okay with had they not SPELLED IT WRONG! Instead of writing "2ndo" they wrote "2rdo". It was a disaster and I was PISSED. The best thing about this Publix is the customer service on the floor and at check-out. Every time I need assistance anyone from the old Spanish man stocking in the aisle to a nicely dressed store manager takes the time to help me (or get me help). The cashiers (I have my top 5) are friendly and very helpful as well. The store is always clean and neat and when the lines get too long they are VERY good about opening additional registers and helping the customers check-out faster. read more

Though it has the updated facade of a newer Publix, this location is ancient by Miami standards - this Publix has been serving the downtown Coral Gables area for many decades. It has a lot of parking outside, but inside, it suffers the same drawbacks as all of the older, smaller South Florida Publix locations - small, cramped aisles, and a less-robust selection. In particular, the healthier "Greenwise" products get short shrift here. If this was where I did my ordinary shopping, it would drive me nuts. However, I tend to come here only around lunch. If you've been around Florida for more than a hot minute, you know the appeal of Publix subs. This market, likely owing to the number of nearby businessmen coming in for lunch, has a "relatively" quick deli line. While these sandwich makers don't exactly speak much English, and often have to be told 2-3 times to add onions, they do make subs quicker than every other Publix I've seen. I wish there was a seating area in which to eat said subs.....if it's a nice day, it's pleasant enough to eat in Merrick Park across the street, but let's face it, on most days you want that AC. This Publix is just too small to have the seating areas some of the larger, newer locations offer. Of course, it's debatable whether anyone truly needs a full 12 inches of Publix sub, but this market is one of the better locations whereby that craving can be satisfied! read more

Came to the deli for a sub and decided to try a new ham sub which was being promoted on the menu. The employees were completely lost as to how to prepare it and the service was extremely slow. They tried their absolute best and were very enthusiastic, but they should atleast know the menu items which are being advertised. read more

If this grocery store were simply up against other grocery stores I might score it higher, but the fact of the matter is that I know Publix can do better than this, so they lose a point on that basis. Huge credit for having a large, free parking lot in the heart of Coral Gables....But that's about where the props end. This is an older location, and has a fairly small footprint, so they are often limited in what and how much they carry. I've frequently had to buy an alternate product or go to another store to get what I want. Another issue with the small location is the layout. I can't say for certain if all aisles are more narrow, but there are definitely a number of choke points (the corner near the bakery and deli counters being one of them) where things are placed so close together that you literally can't get by if some genius is camped out comparison shopping items in the deli case (happened to me yesterday). Lastly is the service. On more than one occasion I've had to bag my own groceries because of a shortage of baggers. And at least a couple times I go out into the parking lot and see said baggers lounging about being VERY slow to bring the carts back in from the parking lot. Really? Does it take a team of 6 to bring in that set of carts? This locations is definitely a "I need something quick on the way home and I'm reasonably confident they've got it in stock" Publix. read more

Love this Publix! Everyone is always so friendly and helpful. They always have everything in stock. I love the deals they have on wine and the fact that they have a symbol on each price tag telling whether the wine is light to full bodied. I also love the baked goods they offer. The quality of always great and they offer a good selection of different things. I think the lines are handled well and it never seems like I have to wait an eternity in line as it happens at other grocery stores. They also have vegan/vegetarian options such as Non/Dairy milk like Ripple and vegan cheeses and butters which makes me a happy camper! My only thing is that they no longer carry the Pillsbury holiday cookies. They are these round pre made cookies that they used to put out for every holiday that had this cute character on the front of the cookie, but they took them away. I think they're called Shape Sugar Cookies.I used to get those as a kid and when I wanted to make some for Christmas last year I saw that they didn't carry them. I wish they would bring them back. I have been a Publix shopper, and a fan for a long time, till I moved into Coral Gables and started shopping at the Publix on Lejeune Rd. Without a doubt the WORST Publix in Miami! They are never properly stocked for BOGOS, produce many times has mold on it as they obviously don't care what they put out and leave out, trying to get deli is difficult unless you have 25-30 minutes to kill! The other day there was 1 person in front of me, 3 woman behind the counter busy talking to each other and slicing deli I am guessing for Instacart. The woman waiting on the person in front of me had no idea what she was doing and was having trouble finding cheese/meats. After 20 minutes I asked one of the other women if she could help me and she told me she did not understand as she only spoke Spanish. The other woman behind the counter looked at me and just ignored me. Needless to say I left and went down to Pinecrest to shop. One of the men in the meat department is also very rude and if you ask him something his reply is usually very curt. Bakery seems to keep the bread till it sells so many times the bread is hard as a rock. Poorly run and poorly stocked. The one star should be for the women/men at the checkout lanes as they are very nice and polite. New management is sorely needed! read more
