I love Publix, period. This is as far as I am concerned the best grocery chain as far as non-premium chains go such as Whole Foods or Fairway Markets. This particular Publix was just about a mile down the road from where we were staying in Orlando and it lives up to all the standards all other Publix I've seen around all of Florida from JAX all the way down to the Keys. The star of this store IMO comes from both the sandwiches at the deli which are made to order as well as the fried chicken baskets which I absolutely can't get enough of. The sandwiches are superb. My wife ordered a turkey on whole wheat and while she ordered a full sandwich, the "sandwich artist" put both halves in their own wrapping which I thought was awesome considering she'll have one half for now and another for later (which I taxed by the way). Sure there was a bit of a line and that's for good reason. People will line up and wait for these sandwiches because hey, Subway is lackluster compared to this. The fried chicken at Publix is by my standards the gold standard for grocery store fried chicken. It's good and it's keeps very well. 20 good sized meaty wings for just under 11 bucks? Yes please! I ate about half and put the rest in the fridge and the next day, nuked them and they weren't soggy or gross. They are almost just good as the day they were made. Their spicy is not that hot but they do have a slight kick to them. Organized, yes. The store is immaculately clean and everything is so easy to find and very neat and well lit. I had never heard of Publix before because we are visitors from Sacramento, but we did shop here a few times because it was close to our timeshare condo. We utilized the grocery area to get snacks, bottled water, toiletries and laundry soap. Like most large chain grocery stores, they have many departments for your convenience. Bakery, produce, dairy, meats & seafood, deli, liquor, even a large section of "fun in the sun" supplies including some of the local theme park souvenirs. They didn't have an on sight pharmacy, but do have an over the counter medications aisle. Among many other things that can be found here, they also sell the Sun Pass transponders for those who prefer paying for the numerous toll roads in a convenient monthly payment plan. We bought one here just for that convenient and temporary option to assist us during all of the driving around we would be doing on vacation. Unfortunately they do not help you set up a Sun Pass account. You must go elsewhere, online or by phone for that. I found the store to be clean, well stocked and organized inside as quality grocery stores should be. We did notice one outstanding inconvenience though, we could not find any places in the parking lot to return your shopping carts after you finish using them! You either take them back to the store or just leave them wherever! Maybe someone is always on duty collecting them, because we didn't see stray carts anywhere! Place let a new guy who looked lost run the deli, I sat there for 20 minutes until another guy showed up, who then told me they don't have Italian meat even though the meat cooler was full, I've never seen a deli sub stand tell me they won't slice more meat to make my sub. read more

Every time I come to Orlando I come to Publix because of the convenience, and I end up overpaying for groceries. I would estimate prices here are a 10-20% markup from a Walmart or Target. But like I said, it's the convenience you pay for. This particular location was fairly clean, and had a spacious parking lot. I can really comment on the "amazing service" all these other reviews mention because I had no interaction with any staff other than the grocery bagger (who was friendly). My only complaint here was that the placed seemed dark for 1 in the afternoon... Just wasn't feeling good vibes from the dull fluorescent lighting. I will also note that they seemed to lack a large selection of fresh produce, and both the meat and seafood counters smelled terrible. The odor lurking around the seafood counter is so pungent it is uncomfortable. I imagine that this is probably what Shamu's breath would smell like on a hot day at Seaworld... But that's just speculation. Bottom line: average grocery store that is probably ok for the basics if you are staying nearby and willing to pay extra for the convenience of not having to drive to Walmart. I would avoid the meat, seafood, and produce at all costs though... Stick to processed and frozen foods. 2/5 read more

I don't think we take enough time to appreciate when people go above and beyond at their job, instead people are always so quick to complain and leave bad reviews. We went in to the deli to get subs first thing in the morning, which I know is the worst for them, and Stephen cheerfully went above and beyond to help us. They didn't have what we wanted but he figured out how to make it right. He greeted everyone that came up to the deli and was definitely a great start to our day. Thank you Stephen! read more

I do both grocery shopping and pharmacy shopping. Today, I spoke with the phar tech in trying to pick up medication that I run out of last week. She came to the counter and then turned her back on me. Then the pharmiscist Zuan, who is very kind came over to help me. And the technician staring out me and said she is not going to listen to me. Miss Zuan attempted to diffuse the situation, but Kimmy completly ignored what Ms Zuan directed. Ms Zuan continued to difuse, however her employee refused to listen to her. I have not transferred the precription from Publix to CVS, who I have been impressed with not only their professionalism and kindess. And I have been surprised by the nastiness of "Kimmy" and lack of professionalism, pharmacy tech. It is impropriate in front of customers to behave that way in front of customers. This Publix location exceeds customer service with their big smiles and friendly disposition. From the time I entered the store until I left, I was greeted with 'hello' or 'May I help you find something?'. The gentleman in the produce department stated that it was the mission to make me feel welcome and to set the tone for the remainder of my day. I will say that was quite a pleasant experience. The store is stocked well with a nice wine selection and has a deli and bakery. It's also very convenient because it is located right across from the Tuscany Village vacation property. read more

Spotless store with everything you could possibly need. I am on a business trip and I always go to the closest grocery store to stock my mini fridge... The deli carries the entire line of boars head meat and cheeses. Unfortunately, the deli counter personnel are few and far between. And they do not know what 1/ 3of a pound means. I had to keep telling the girl that that was .33 on the scale, .50 was a half a pound, .75 was 3/4 of a pound etc. It was uncomfortable. The first time my boyfriend and I came here with his family, it wasn't called Publix. I remembered it was another market, but at least it's still a supermarket. My boyfriend and I came here at least once a day during our trip in Orlando to grab a variety of items. We had a refrigerator and toaster in our suite, so we bought milk, syrup, frozen waffles, a pack of bottled water, and etc. The toaster came in handy because we made breakfast each morning which saves on time and money. The supermarket is humongous and everything is priced reasonably. The aisles are clean and organized, unlike most supermarkets in Brooklyn or New York in general. Overall, we were very happy with the customer service and products sold here. Parking is pretty easy here and the parking lot is huge! You won't have any trouble at this market. read more

I love this Publix, super clean, staff is friendly, like super friendly and knowledgeable. The customer service in each department is amazing. Today I visited the deli, too many things at work so I need it to grab something delicious to eat and get back to the office. It never disappoints! I was in and out in a heartbeat, order was perfect, and please know they not only have subs, they have mac and cheese, chicken, pork, fries, I mean you name it they have it. International drive savior! Very well kept grocery store. It has pretty much everything you expect from a decent grocery store. Especially for long term visitors in Orlando staying at resorts / hotels on international drive. The staff here is very helpful in keeping the store extremely neat and clean. One of the highlights of the store is that it has really good frozen food section with a very well stocked ready to eat meals. not to forget an excellent selection of beer and wine. There is a large section of cold Whites and Champagnes to pick and go for instant use. It is tough to find cold wines and champagnes unless you have a big liquor store to choose from. The strip mall where this Publix is located has a liquor store which is strictly OK. That's where this Publix is so useful. The staff here is very friendly and helpful with questions about where things can be found in the store. Same is the case at the checkout as well. Enough checkout counters were open to accommodate the constant flux of people. We used pretty much every section except for the deli for our stay at a resort nearby. The proximity to this grocery store will influence my decision to stay in a nearby resort next time I visit Orlando. read more

This was the only grocery store that we went to considering that it is right across the street from Hilton Grand Vacations! Great location and so convenient especially if you are staying at a resort. You can buy food to fill up your kitchen and what better way to save money than by doing this! I don't have much to compare unlike other reviews, but this was a clean and very big store. This location is were I always come to when I'm in Orlando. Just a 5 minute drive from my resort! Love their deli and bakery section. How can you go wrong with a 8 piece fried chicken box or a whole rotisserie chicken, two medium salads(the Southern Style Potato is the best), a pack of Hawaiin dinner rolls and a gallon of brewed sweet tea.......drumroll please.......all for $10!! Publix Super Market at Regency Village Shopping Center (8145 Vineland Ave.) is your best bet for shopping for your daily needs. They carry a good selection of wine - but not spirits ... The selection of regular produce, seafood, meats and other daily items is very good. The prices are good. After shopping there several times over our 10 day vacation - we came to realize what a great selection of ready made foods they have. Good for vacationers who want to take care of their families - but do not want to fuss too much over meals. For convenience ready made foods that we enjoyed included: whole roasted chicken, a pre-marinated to order sea food at the fish counter/ rice / veggie meal , burbon marinated salmon filets, marinated pork ternerloin (several flavours - excellent to BBQ),fully cooked baby back pork ribs, prepared chicken cordon blue ready to roast in the oven, potato salad, 5 cheese toast bread, frozen coconut shrimp. Plus all the regular frozen dinners and snacks. We also saw - but did not need: hoagie sandwiches made to order, salad & cheese plates. This place is real easy to find and drive to. read more

You can take the I-Ride Trolley here (it's stop 41). They have a great spinach salad with balsamic vinaigrette (almost chocolaty--how do they make the dressing like that?) and the bakery is mammoth with mango key lime pie. I went in with a friend, not planning on getting anything and ended up doing my gift card Christmas shopping. Huge selection of of cards to choose from! I was shocked to see Macy's cards. This is a decent grocery store, easily accessible by the I-ride trolley. It was nice to have a place like this to pick up groceries and not have to eat out for every meal. They also have decent prices for beer and liquor. They also have a very nice deli section, but it lacked organization. It didn't seem like they were following their number system. Publix is a great store. I love coming here when I come down to Florida I only wish I had one back home in New York. the amount of stuff that your get for the value is very good . At one point on a previous vacation we would come here for sandwiches they were freshly made before hitting the parks. This location is really great, like most of them are. It's open later than any I have seen (11pm), and despite it being used by tourists all the time, it is still nice and upscale. Employees are always super friendly and customer service is top notch. My only complaint about it is something I recently found out-this location's prices are higher than the neighboring locations. I went twice because I so missed and craved a publix sub, and both times I waited over 20 minutes for my sub. Came here since it was walking distance from our hotel. It is a convenient store with groceries and a few Disney items, as well as some beach essentials. We actually came here twice because we forgot one of our bags the first time. Since the lady that packed our bags notified her supervisor that we had left a bag behind.
