Don't get me wrong. Publix has a hard time doing anything wrong. My review is instead based on this Publix vs other Publix's that I've shopped in. Compared to Albertsons or Winn Dixie, Publix is far superior. So, what's different about this Publix. First of all, it's tiny. And because it's tiny, the shopping carts are tiny. Tiny carts and a big load of groceries simply don't mix, and I'm not going to bring two of them around with me. I'm constantly playing Tetris with my groceries to make them fit. The store also looks like it's going to burst at the seams with products. Isle's are stacked high because they've probably got a tiny stock room in the back. It just looks like they haven't got enough room for stuff. This also makes the location of some items a little harder to guess. In other stores which are probably double the size, the location of products is a little more logical. At this location, they do try, but it doesn't always make sense. The service is generally excellent. They are helpful, always nice, and usually smiling. The deli workers are sometimes the exception to the rule, but it's hot as hell back there with the fryer, griddle, and rotisserie cooker going, so I can understand if their not glowing with enthusiasm.. The prices are higher than other grocery stores, but I believe that the quality of the products is much higher as well. The produce department is always clean and well presented. The wine selection is good, and the seafood department has a great selection of fresh items. I would like to see bigger shopping carts, but I guess they just don't have room for them. Oh, Publix subs, how I miss you. There is not much I miss from Orlando except for friends, family, Chik-fa-lay, Boston Market, and Publix subs. I use to live just down the street from Publix 19 and I just LOVE the subs. Anytime I go back to Orlando I stop by my favorite College Park Publix and grabs me a sub. Ummmmm Ummmm Bitches!!!!! I love this retro Publix. I'm so glad that I now live close enough to make this my regular location. I love seeing the signs when I drive up. There's just so much charm from the moment you turn into their parking lot. Yes, parking can be difficult when crowded due to how small the lot is. Yes, the Publix itself is also smaller than most of their other locations, which means a little less selection and smaller aisles. Yes, it's really just a chain grocery store. But none of these things are negative points to me. I love the cozy feeling I get when I walk in. I love how friendly the staff has been. I love the smaller carts (sho cute!). Do keep in mind that things can get pretty tight when it's crowded (usually the hour after most people get out of work). But honestly, even when it was crowded, I haven't run into Grumpy. read more

The College Park Publix is a supermarket with a small-town feel. While it lacks the variety larger Publix locations provide, I always come away with a positive shopping experience. This is a true neighborhood gem. Living blocks from Publix never topped my charts on being a priority but having lived so close for three years, I couldn't imagine it any other way. They open at 7 and close at 9 so they're always open when I need something. The parking is often challenging but hey have bike parking as a good alternative. The employees are always talkative, helpful, and polite. The produce is fresh, the meat is good, and their selection is plentiful. BOGOs are always fun to find and their online coupons are often great deals! I love my publix and I rarely have to go elsewhere to get items I need :) read more

This publix is in a very convenient location and the staff is friendly. I suppose due to the high cost of realestae this is a very small store and does not carry a full array of products as at the bigger stores. I still shop here because i drive by here quite a bit. This store gets pretty crowded weekdays between 5-7 so sometimes its hard to find a parking space and you can encounter a long line. I think i prefer the store at Colonial and Shine ave. a bit more than this one, even though it is the same small size. read more

Retro in style but stocked like a regular Publix inside, this smaller-than-usual Publix is by far my favorite. Since its slightly smaller in size than most Publix stores, you may not find all the same selections as usual but the atmosphere of this Publix is far better. It feels more like a locally owned independent grocer than large chain grocer. In the heart of College Park, the Publix is a great place to bump into any friends who also reside in the area. Definitely a great place to shop. Gets a tad busy on the weekends and there aren't a ton of parking spaces. read more

The layout is standardized with every other small Publix in town so I can always find what I'm looking for when I stop in here. It can get crowded on the weekends, but the Art Deco-inspired signage and building architecture (my understanding is this location was rebuilt, but they preserved the awesomeness) help to make it an enjoyable place to shop. read more

Parking lot is a bit tight. I try to back into one of the spaces along the perimeter of the lot. Its important to pay more than the usual attention when navigation thru the store too. This is likely the oldest Publix left to be remodeled. And its evident because the aisles are not condusive for the shopping demand that now comes from the College Park neighborhood. Publix, is Publix....shopping is a always otherwise a pleasure. The cashiers and baggers are kind and helpful, the deli and bakery a sheer delight! read more

This is not a great Publix. It's old and cramped. The aisles are very small, and the store is not well lit. They also don't have the same variety that other newer, larger stores have. I pass this one on my way home to go out of the way to the better store. read more

The deli never gets my online sub order right. I work in college park, so I take advantage of Publix sub deals all the time. Every time I order ahead online, the order is wrong. The ticket is always what I request, but the sub is never built right. Please fix this! read more

Worst publix I've been to by far ! This lady made my sandwich the absolute worse I had to ask her for more everything and when I ask for more oil she poured damn near the whole bottle in my sub. I'm 7 months pregnant there's no wAy any one would ask for that much oil on a half sub I got to work and the whole sub fell apart now I'm super hungry with a soggy sub to eat I just went to wawa. This publix will never get my business again. When I got to the register the lady did not even greet me . I LOVE this Publix. People so friendly. The REGULAR Pharmacy people are so good. The ones that just fill in are not very friendly, ever! I guess that is why they are fill ins? Small place, but we like it. BUT I did hear they are installing Kios registers? I WILL not support them if they start that hounding me to use them . I think that will be a BIG mistake to add them. read more

They are wonderful here. I get great shopper assistants most of the time. A year ago I passed out while checking out with the cashier. Two staff members escorted me to the restroom, got me water & eventually drove me home. I was so greatful. read more

I called to ensure they had a certain soup and they said yes and it's ready now. I just had surgery and can only have soup or mash. Being my neighborhood publix I told them I was coming in. Knowing publix and their normal excellent customer service I thought I could trust their answer. I got there and they had no, not even close to being ready. I asked the lady how long it would be and her response was, honey I got here, it's shift change, it's going to be a while" ok..... I got the manager who seemed like she did not want to be there at all, she basically just said the same and sorry and walked away. Another lady who checked me out I guess overhead the deli speaking to me like that and she seemed more concerned than the manager. At least the cashier was nice and thoughtful. I have been shopping at this particular Publix for over five years, as it is close to Edgewater High and College Park Middle Schools. The pharmacy staff is amazing. Rob, Mike, Monica, Jahmeel, Alexis, Tammi. They are truly an all-star line up. The store in general is wonderful also. If it is not right, they will make it right. I actually feel bad even if I shop at another Publix. They live by their catch phrase "Where shopping is a pleasure". In case you didn't know they support local schools. read more

This store is often wiped out in the produce section along with other sections. Shelves completely empty! We live 2 minutes from this Publix and its unfortunate and frustrating that we find ourselves having to leave this Publix to shop at a farther store to complete our grocery list. I will not make this Publix my first choice. read more
