Good Publix location, esp. for the "baby size" Publix. All departments are stocked and sale items are always plentiful. While I agree with Rob W, the produce section is smaller in the "baby size" Publix size, I've never seen this location run out of things. Back in the old days, before they redid the baby College Park location, you knew not to shop the day before the truck was delivering as they would be out of tomatoes, etc. :) Glad they corrected that when the remodeled. Staff is friendly and I've never waited in a long line here. Bravo! read more

Her name is Eva. Maybe she was having a bad day but I am still rather put off by her reaction towards my surprise for my mom's 50th birthday surprise in November. I purchased 50 roses and she was ringing me up. I was telling her what I had planned with the roses and why I purchased so many roses. I was rather excited as I told the cashier this. Her response? "Whatever..." that had put me in a sour attitude towards this location, when every time I enter I hope not to see her. Well, here we are four months later and I see her and did not say a word to her as she rung me up solely because he response towards my enthusiasm was way less than what I expected. I left that day in November mumbling "where shopping is a pleasure my ass". I tried to not let it rub me the wrong way or take it personally by thinking she could have had a bad morning and just couldn't hide her emotions while at work... but seeing her today made the memory rather fresh. I hope she has a better outlook on life. Now about the location, it's a pretty small Publix, probably because it was one of the first ones in Orlando. The layout is also rather different from the other locations that were built waay after this one. I still shop here because it happens to be on the way home from work. I've only been to a couple of Publix in the area, so I may be ill-informed. As far as the store goes, Baldwin Park's beats this one on arrangement and having a polished look on the inside, but that store is probably newer and its definitely bigger. As far as employees, it seemed as though the employees were a lot more pleasant and helpful here than Baldwin Park. Big kudos to them. There was a decent selection on the inside without feeling too crowded. The worst feeling while trying to shop is feeling like I'm in someone else's way. This one, while small, still seems to accommodate. Like others have said, its not necessarily that this store is a bad store, its just the mini-me of grocery stores. read more

Tiny Publix is tiny! The parking lot is ample, though, and there's overflow parking to the south, so at least that issue doesn't exist. Cool architecture since it is an older store location. Always clean inside (it's a Publix!) Seafood guy is super friendly and there is always an ample supply of fried chicken to be had at the deli. Hoagie line can get ridiculously long during weekday lunch hours. I mostly shop the perimeter of the store so the small size of the store rarely results in any complaints on my part as there are only so many different kinds of meat and veg you can stock. But, for a store in the middle of our Asian area I'd expect a bigger aisle of ethnic fixin's. Overall it's a good basic convenient supermarket. read more

If you live here this is the Publix you go to, you definitely don't drive out of your way to come to this one though, since it's definitely a neighborhood Publix. It's not bad, it's a normal friendly, clean, Publix, it's just very small. Aside from the small size, the deli is great, but the bakery is so small I usually see limited quantities of items. The parking layout is a little weird and honestly, you see some folks that have no idea how to park. It's like your grandma is stuck in a life sized puzzle and all the end pieces are missing--a little sad. If you prefer something bigger, a little cheaper, and more ample parking that isn't too far away, try the Sodo Super Target. If you're just running in to grab cheese, eggs, or milk, this Publix works. read more

This isn't a "big" Publix, but it's a "comfortable" Publix. You know, if I could wear a supermarket like an old hat, this would be it. Sure, it's convenient since it's only minutes away from my house. And yes, I like the green flat lines that decorate the facade. There's also Mike, the guy who works at the seafood counter - he's awesome. But there's also a decent organic produce section (pretty good for this small sized supermarket) and Publix has a knack for branding their own stuff (check out the "Greenwise" labels, for instance). I also like the fact that I can go get grass-fed buffalo meat if I want. Don't forget the Ezekiel bread, the wine section, their famous subs, and the fried chicken. (Before I changed my diet I used to raid their box of unbreaded-hot wings a few times a week, not to mention their case of fresh everything bagels). Sure, they are like all other "regular" supermarkets in that they carry mostly processed foods that are horrible for you, but hey, why penalize them for catering to the mainstream? The only thing I would say to Publix is: be careful - Fresh market is slowly creeping up on you when it comes to my shopping habits. read more

I love my neighborhood Publix. Although this is a small store, it is well stocked with very friendly staff. The store has adequate parking (although can be packed during the busy times). The store is accessible for walkers and has a bike rack at the front. The store is organized well and all easy to navigate. The produce section has a decent selection of organic fruits and vegetables. The best part of Publix is the staff. Everyone always says hello and is happy to stop what they are doing to show you to a product you are looking for or help in any way. They are also happy to order and stock special product requests, so if you're looking for something, ask customer service! Checkout lines move quickly and it's easy to get in and out. The publics itself is an amazing, clean and friendly store with the exception of the deli counter and the employees who make the sandwiches. The first time I went to this location to have three subs made, I was met with attitude. I thought well maybe just a bad day. I went in again a couple of weeks later, same lady back there but I was waited on by a different employee. It wasn't super busy, two people of head of me and three people behind me. Still they act like they're doing you a favor when you place an order. My third experience was my last. Several workers back there about 45 minutes before closing. I saw what appeared to be a store manager walking to the store and then was behind that very counter. One person was waiting on several people. The other three workers were back there chatting with one another while they wiping down counters. Wiping down counters is very important, not for 90% of the deli counter employees to be engaged in when their customers are waiting. It is the customers who have made Publix what it is. Great customer service. You would think that the manager would've said something to one of them to help the other girl who was making everybody's sandwiches. Not a word. He looked actually intimidated. A bunch of women back there shooting attitude. Will not be back to this particular Publix any time soon. I would rather drive to College Park. A little bit further out of my way, but I don't get attitude when trying to purchase sandwiches. read more

As a born and raised Floridian, I love Publix. I always shop at this specific location, because it's so close to my house. The staff is so friendly and helpful - except for one person. Luke. I assume he's one the managers of this location as I've never seen him anywhere other than behind the customer service counter. For an employee of a store known for outstanding customer service, he's rather rude and impatient. Every interaction I have had with this man leaves me feeling like I've inconvenienced him with my business. As a barber, if I treated my clients with Luke's level of disrespect, I would have none and probably be unemployed. I can't say I will never shop at Publix again (I refuse to do grocery shopping elsewhere), but I will never shop at LUKE'S Publix again. I hope he finds peace and happiness - or finds a job with no customer interaction. read more

Apparently, this is one of the oldest publix stores in town. The product quality of their goods is just as any other Publix you could visit. However, the place is small and there's little room between the aisles. This store feels crowded and crammed up. It doesn't feel as clean and comfortable as other newer, bigger Publix stores (like the ones around Conway). It also has less variety because of its size. In a hurry and around the area, I wouldn't mind stopping here again. But, if I got to choose, I'd drive some extra miles to one of the nicer Publix stores! read more

I've lived in this city for 12 yrs. This has been my publix. For the record I want to say I LOVE PUBLIX, BUT... This Publix has gone way down hill since their "revamp"... I've had stock persons shoulder check me (not on purpose), and not even turn around to apologize. I brush that off.. no big deal.. Publix has sales... go there, shelves are cleared out.. BOGO, there is only one... ask an employee, they act as if it's a bother.. went tonight, a FRIDAY EVENING @ 7:30, no chicken... Seriously?? First the bad... The Sunday Morning, Customer Service young lady, on Dec 1, was so rude, so unfriendly and because of her and Pharmacy mistakes, I am not returning... If Publix has stock clerks and produce personnel so friendly, why is CS mgr there leaving me feeling so horrible? The clerks do the service.. Mgrs delivery discomfort on Sundays at 11:00 am? I spent $1,000s since August, time to try WalMart, etc... Again... Fish? - I consider fish nonexistent in Orlando, the public seems to prefer other food, the offering here of snow crab, precooked shrimp, farmed salmon portions etc.. Is a non event for me... Never bought any, I have no feedback on fish. I go to revamped Red Lobster on Colonial near Fashion Square, 2lbs King Crab (off menu) Caesar or reg salad, popover, great Veg, starch for $26.99 ... The only time I pay for Snow Crab, is a buffet where I am paying for other items and I eat a cluster. The produce, though not as Good as Central or College Park is fresh w nice selection. The bakery is very good. I like the thick ribeyes. Great greek yogurt selection... Large parking lot.. EVERY ONE IN AISLES ALWAYS FRIENDLY Hot food counter, sometimes I waited when three people waited on one person ordering 20+ piece fried chicken The fried chicken is fab, but it : Has thick batter to absorb more frying oil The skin is never trimmed of any skin The chicken never has skinless option According to health sites: this type of chicken should be avoided at all costs I would have loved an evolving, daily changing, salad bar Or Fresh cooked veggies that are changed often Collards Mustard greens Creamed spinach Corn on the cob Fresh string beans Steamed broccoli Bakery, stock clerks, fast check out with baggers, compenent produce was reason I shopped here. The produce section is awful. I see rotten fruit and flies on the fruit all the time. It's disgusting. One time I had to show an employee that all of the grapes had mold on them. You can go anywhere and find a better selection of produce. And you can't move your cart to shop because there are always boxes and crates in the way. If people can't shop, restock when the store is closed. I'm a huge publix fan, but they need to do something about this store. read more

I always expect the best at Publix. They have great customer service, clean and neat store presentation. But this Publix I don't plan on going to again. I went to order a sub and for every ingredient they needed to run to the back and pull out of a box. Linda at the Deli, I hope she has better days. She didn't put any attention to what I was ordering, and then argued that I asked for things that I clearly didn't ask for. She proceeded to slap on my toppings like the sub was coming out of her paycheck. Then tossed it on the counter. Management was not available to provide feedback. read more

This is probably my least favorite Publix in the area. I love Publix, it's just that this particular location has a lot of shortcomings. I have to say, I do enjoy the architectural style of the building. It's old and charming. Different than most of their other locations. The inside, while clean, is so small in comparison to their other stores that sometimes I feel like I am missing out. Sure, I usually don't know what I want, and more choices would only further confound that problem, but it's not an awful problem to have. At lunch time or after work their parking lot of a giant pain in the butt. There's an overflow lot that can be used, but really... If I am going to park there I feel I might as well have just walked. Along with the groceries you can never go wrong with a sub or visit to the hot counter. I enjoy the constantly rotating selection of hot sides to go along with the chicken meals. Most of the employees are pretty fantastic... Friendly, helpful, they smell pleasant.... But there is one employee who is always so grumpy he can spoil a good mood quick. He reminds me of the "get off my lawn" guy, but he thinks that Publix is his lawn. I'm not entirely sure if he just doesn't like ME, or he doesn't like anybody, since he's usually griping to himself about some random problem. One day while there I was wearing a shirt with a clown and it and he thought he would tell me that Bozo was dead. I was thrilled since that's the nicest he's ever been to me. This is a gem of a little Publix that I'm liking more and more each day since I moved nearby. It's small, but everything they have there is good. The produce is good, the bakery is good, the meat and seafood counters are also good. I actually like the fact that it is smaller than most Publix stores as I shop for boxy things at Costco and it's ilk and just pick up the freshies at the 'Lix. The reason I write this review today, however, is that I had the pleasure of eating one of Publix's Greenwise-branded NY Strip steaks last night. Even the checkout clerk commented on the beautiful color of the steaks as she scanned them. After grilling, their flavor was amazing, the texture was perfect and the color was still just as nice as you could want from a steak. My mouth is watering just thinking about it a day later. This has been my Publix for 5 years and I hope it always will be. Every time I'm there everything is always very clean, the customer service is impeccable and they always have everything in stock. I hear some people complain about the parking, but for a downtown location I don't think it's bad at all. I will always choose this Publix over any other in the Orlando area. read more

This is closest grocery to where i live, so it is where i usually shop. It is definitely much cleaner and nicer than the Winn Dixie down the street. It is a small store and has a restricted selection of items compared to the larger stores. but you can still get most everything you want. I think the dept. most lacking is produce, the products are all nice and fresh, but the selection is tiny. The times i've been to the Super Target they seem to have 2-3 as many things in the produce area. I'm usually to lazy to drive down there however. read more

I love Publix, so this review is difficult for me to write. This store is most convenient to my house, but if I have the option, I go to a different one, or a different retailer. I don't mind the size, Lake Eola is also small... but this one doesn't carry many items. I have left disappointed multiple times and a few of those times it was due to their failure to carry products that were on sale - BOGO for that matter. Their produce is missing several main varieties.... Additionally this store does not have friendly associates. I have never been impressed by the customer service which is disappointing. read more

This store is in a compact location and they make the most of the space. It reminds me of stores in New York. The level of service I receive from every worker is very excellent. Everyone has a very good attitude and exhibit a level of care I am not used to in other stores nearby. The Deli here is probably my favorite section and it can get very busy. I ordered a sub and the quality and value were really good. All of the workers do their best to make sure you get exactly what you want and are very pleasant. The manager was taking my order and I never felt so bothered. She was working way too fast to even hear what I was saying and when I would ask for stuff in it she would give me attitude. by far the worst publix on east colonial... maybe even orlando. the deli is where starving people go to die. the staff is SLOW, inefficient & literally look like their life is over & they sure work in the pace as well. i am currently standing here now for 17 mins while we ALL (line to the cheeses) watch one woman work subs & another work the togo.... no help. no urgency for the lunch rush. purely the biggest disrespect, disservice & is a "shopping pleasure" when i arrive, even at their slow hours. i called for a manager in the deli dept while in line & what do you know ? they can't get ahold of them........ so not only are you running your staff on 2 people, your dept manager is not around to assist let alone answer a page. will be following up with this crappy store & their corporate dept because at this point, people should be fired/retrained/suspended whatever it takes. because i have never experienced in any other publix but THIS LOCATION read more

I feel that ALL the Publix Super Markets are over priced!!! Their quality is not that great and when they have bogo the product is out of date for sale or close to it!!! Then they raise the price of the item and make the customer feel like they are getting a bargain. You can spend $100.00 at Publix and come home with 3 bags or go to Sedonos or another competitor and have a buggy full of groceries!! And you might even come home with some meat!!! Went into store around 1:30pm on 1/29/15. I went up to bakery section to buy daughter a cake. The man behind counter ask person beside me if he needed any help, the person replied no. the man behind counter then roll his eyes at me, and walk away. I don't care if you like me because of the color of my skin. My problem is you shouldn't take a job were you deal with the pubic and have a racists attitude. I wouldn't buy from this bakery if your black, no telling what this person may put in food. read more
