The bakery is the BEST bakery in the area. I was asked by my aunt to order a birthday cake for 60 people. I researched online and it appeared that some Publix would be more flexible with requests, ie I wanted the raspberry elegance cake 3/4 sheet yet the book only offered 1/2, largest. I tried two Publix, Hollywood in young circle and Hallandale. They each said they couldn't create. Ultimately I ordered a christening cake and adjusted the colors. I was soo nervous that they would mix it up and I would get a baby's cake for my senior aunt. We made 3 visits to Publix. Finally a week before the event I got sick, and changed the order to Pembroke Pines as it was close to the venue and someone else would pick up. I was lucky and MARTIN answered the phone. I explained to Martin what I wanted the rasberry elegance but since they couldn't make for 60 people I ordered Christening instead. He said making the elegance was not an issue. The staff are sensitive and caring . They are patient with the Senior customers. The managers will go out of their way to help the customers. One of the Managers, Saul, is a great example of this professionalism. Publix is carrying more organic and natural products in various aisles. I came with my daughter to pick up food I ordered in the plaza and took the opportunity to stop at Publix to get a juice I needed. I bought 2 (1 gallon ) Arizona tea and 2 (1/2 gallon) ocean spray cranberry grape juices, both were on special: Arizona buy 2 for $6 & ocean spray deal buy 1 get one free. My purpose was to pick up 1 but couldn't pass the deals. Unfortunately I did not get a cart on my way in, cause I thought I would not need it. Well now I had 4 jugs to juggle, I managed and when I turned around I saw 2 employees ( a female first and a male after her). Both had an EMPTY cart each. I asked them if I could have a cart to carry all that I had and sadly they did not even blink to say NO. As they went passed me I said so much for prioritizing the customer. Mind you I'm with my 8 months PREGNANT daughter, So I didn't want her to strain herself. No sympathy. I get to front I see an employee who is the lead in charge of customer service where lotto machine is. I tell her what happened and explained that I expected Publix to prioritize customers over employee convenience and suggested she should talk to those 2 employees. Again sadly all she said was I can go get you a cart. I responded, I'm at the register already. Never did she ask who where they?, which way did they go?. I think there is room for improvement here for all 3. Empathy for others goes a long way and should be taught to employees specially when they work first hand with customers. Publix has a new deli assembly-line system: * One person adds condiments + meat & cheese * Passes it down * Next person adds toppings, cuts, wraps In theory? Smart. In reality today? A sandwich traffic jam. A gentleman ahead was placing a large order. The first employee kept cranking out sandwich after sandwich, while the second employee... stood... waiting... with nothing to do. Meanwhile, the young man in front of me and I stayed in line for more than 10 minutes. No "Hi." No "We'll be right with you." Just us, watching the Sub Showdown with zero movement. I finally said to my husband, "Forget it, let's check out and go." I tracked down the deli manager to give respectful feedback -- and surprise! -- even the employees don't like the new system. I was told the large-order employee should've asked someone else to take over the line... but didn't. So we were invisible and subless. So where did we end up for lunch? Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza on Miramar Parkway -- which was actually my first choice before I changed my mind twice. Publix Liquor stores are always pretty clean and organized. This location is in the Pines City Center. I stumbled upon this after shopping at Publix. I've been on the hunt for the new Empress Elderflower Rose Gin and it doesn't look like many of the small liquor stores sell this. I did browse to see what this location had and they had a nice selection all in all. The gentleman working at the time was very nice and helpful when I asked about the Empress gin. The shelves were very neat and organized. Makes my OCD happy. Ha. I would come back here next time I'm in the area. read more

I recently moved to Florida and visited Publix for the first time. The store was clean and looked nice overall. It wasn't particularly busy, but there were only about three checkout lanes open, so I chose one that wasn't too full and began unloading my items. As I was doing so, the cashier--whose name, according to the receipt, was Linda--abruptly said out loud, "This is express." I immediately looked up and saw the "10 items or less" sign. I had 12 small items and genuinely hadn't noticed it. I quickly apologized and turned to the customer behind me, offering to let her go ahead. She smiled and kindly said it was okay, insisting she didn't mind waiting. Despite this, the cashier rolled her eyes and made a snide remark to the customer currently checking out, saying, "Ugh, I should just quit my job at this point." Even if meant as a joke, the comment was clearly at my expense and felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. Yes, I made a mistake by being in the express lane, but the sarcasm, eye-rolling, and passive-aggressive attitude were completely uncalled for. A simple, respectful reminder or even asking me to switch lanes would have been fine. Instead, I was treated as if I had deliberately broken the rules, which wasn't the case. You never know what someone might be going through--whether it's anxiety, stress, or just a bad day--and treating customers with that kind of attitude only makes things worse. This experience left a very disappointing first impression of Publix, and I hope this isn't reflective of their usual customer service standards. read more

For the longest time I thought this was my nearest Publix, but it turns out there's one even closer and I tend to go there over to that one over this one. Still, I frequent this location once in awhile, and I'm reminded why I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love that it's relatively new, spacious, and full of so many products. The hate part? If you come at the wrong time, this store is so packed it makes you feel like you're in a pack full of sardines. Smacked right in the middle of the up-and-coming city center, I'm not sure this was a wise decision or just an aforementioned moment of madness. At any rate, I just go when needed or when it's convenient. I don't have patience for people, particularly in the parking lot. My husband and I have been living in this neighborhood for five years, and we shop at this Publix almost every day. Many of the employees here know us well, which is why what happened recently with the store manager, Martín, was shocking and unacceptable. He falsely accused my husband of stealing in front of everyone, humiliating him in public. But when the police arrived and we asked for proof, he completely denied ever making the accusation, even though he clearly did. This behavior is not only unprofessional, it is dishonest and deeply disrespectful. After years of loyalty to this store, we never expected to be treated this way. Publix needs to take action, because no customer should ever go through such an experience. read more

Absolutely my favorite Publix in the area! From the moment you walk in you can tell the employees and management team really work hard to make sure their store is cleaned and stocked. I'm always greeted by every employee I pass with a smile (hidden by a mask these days) and a "good morning" or "how are you doing today". They have a beautiful selection of produce that is always fresh. The house made salads are great if you're looking for a meal on the go. And who can resist all of the BOGOs (buy one get one) throughout the store. During COVID they have done a good job at making sure customers are social distancing by marking aisles as one way. I visit this store probably four or five times a week and every single time I am here I notice there is a staff member assigned to sanitizing all of the shopping carts and baskets. The sushi selection at this location is incredible. If you come to the store around 11am/12pm the sushi case is completely stocked with lots of great options and do not miss out on $5 SUSHI WEDNESDAY! Unlike other Publix stores I have been to, they have lots of different options for their $5 rolls on Wednesday which I really love! My favorite part of this Publix, although currently not available due to COVID, is the Blue Apron Kitchen located in the front of the store. They prepare meals using ingredients that can be found throughout the store and offer very nice samples for customers to taste. They provide lots of recipes for the food they are cooking and usually have all of the ingredients together in the coolers next to the little kitchen. The woman that cooked the majority of the meals is an absolute delight, she very sweet and always gave us cooking tips. It's a really really nice addition to the shopping experience! Best time to shop is early mornings. This Publix can get very crowded and it can be difficult to park in the evenings! Great job Publix, keep up the good work! read more

Publix had become the leading supermarket in Florida and has since expanded throughout the southeastern United States. They became the leading supermarket by putting a strong emphasis on customer service. They bring the adage "the customer is always right" to new levels. Add to this fantastic BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals and that alone makes for a winning combination. Add to this the iconic subs that they make in their deli (affectionately known as Pub Subs) and they become virtually unbeatable. These subs are pretty amazing. I usually go with their Italian sub or their roast beef. Both are excellent and I guess anything you would order at their deli counter would be a winner. This particular location is spacious and the staff was friendly and professional. It was a bit busy, but the staff kept their smiles. I must say that I would definitely recommend this particular location or any Publix, for that matter. I choose to give it five stars for their steps in making sure a visit to a Publix is always a wonderful experience. read more

I arrive at 9:59pm and the door was already closed. When I tried to talk to an employee they would not even open the door to talk to me. I wanted to explain that if they would have left the door open until 10 I would have been inside without any issue but through the window they just kept nodding NO like 12ft away from the door.. They would not even come close to open the door to talk to me, they would not even acknowledge me, the employee did not open the door to talk to me, he went and ask what I assume it was a manager, same employee came back nodding no 2 times, they might need a new manager to make them understand that sometimes they need to be in the customers shoes. I just wonder what the managers tell those poor employees in that store that they are so afraid of taking to one simple customer. I could have just save the trip and go to Walmart but I did not. The store is a good/average size. It's new so it's bright and clean. I made a quick stop to pick something up. Not being familiar with the store I requested assistance from to two staff members. Ten Stars if I could for the Deli Department at Publix Pines City Center! Today, my taste buds felt for Mardi Gras Wings I called Publix in Pembroke Commons they said nope none today. I called Publix in Country Club Plaza and they had a two hour wait BUT.......... when I called Pines City Center Deli, Andrea and her deli cook saved my day. Andrea told me to hold on and she personally checked for the Mardi Gras Wings. She then choose one, saved it in the warmer and let me know the wings were waiting for me to pick it up.......OMG thats not it, when I arrived at the Deli Andrea greeted me and got the wings out of the warmer and handed them to me as well. WOW and WOW!!!! I am so very impressed with Andrea's customer service skills and a big thank you to the deli cook as well. They always have an abundance of ready to go chicken choices available for the 5:00pm grab and go food rush! This is my first time in this Publix which was recently opened in this area. The whole plaza is brand new with nice stores and restaurants. This Publix was wonderful and welcoming with a customer service counter right in the front which was awesome because I don't recall the Publix closer to me or any others having such a welcoming counter right in your face when you walk in. I went there for shrimp after my Publix disappointed me yet again with a non-working steamer. They were out of the snow crab legs like the other location due to the sale but I said I could get a rain check at the customer service desk. I forgot to do it but nice to know that's an option for the future. One of the store reps let my daughters touch the Lobster which was huge! My youngest was too scared to touch it... This Publix was very nice and clean and I will definitely be visiting this one more often. read more

This is probably the worst Publix I have been to. And there have been many bad ones. We came in for a sub. Not for me. The last two I have had have been so bad that I am turned off from them forever. There were three people in front of us. One employee. Then, the customer in front of us was in the middle of saying what she wanted in her sub and just said forget it and left. I thought that was odd. Then, we went up there and he wanted Boars Head Italian. The guy said they only have one type of bread. We went through the motions of saying what he wanted on the sub. The guy put an extraordinary amount of mayo on the sub. Then, he says they do not have Boars Head Italian. Too bad he didn't say that from the beginning. Then, they didn't have two other Boars Head meats. What do they have? He won't eat Publix deli meat. So, we said forget it and left. There were seven customers behind us at this point and still one employee!!! Besides all that, the few times I have been to this location I always feel a bad vibe. From the customers and several of the employees. I do not really shop at Publix but end up having to stop at one from time to time. I won't come back to this location though. read more

I remember when this publix was being built and the size of it left me with much anticipation. I get excited about grocery shopping, especially when I'm shopping at one of my favorite stores. It's important to me that a grocery store feel welcoming in order to make my shopping experience a pleasant one. And as large as my family is, it seems like I'm always in the grocery store for one thing or another. This particular location is as good as it gets when it comes to publix grocery stores. It's spacious, well organized and laid out in a way that's easy to comprehend, which makes shopping a breeze. I love doing my shopping in the early morning or early afternoon. Of course, after a while, you become used to the way the store flows and expect things to be where you need them to be. I will say, that sometimes they have to do better with the sales signage, some things aren't always as clear as they could be. There have been several occasions when I would get to the check-out line only to find out that a particular item is not "the" item that's on sale. If you love grocery shopping as I do, you'll enjoy shopping here. There's no doubt about it, they did a really great job making this location feel like, "first-class". read more

I think I have just found my new favorite Publix. What's even better is that it is right by my house. Sure there is one that is literally on the corner of my home but I'd drive that extra minute to come here. The staff that I encountered was very nice. I had the poor guy in the back and all looking for a particular salad mix that wasn't on the shelves. He didn't bat and eye and went right to looking for it with a smile on his face. Even when my request required him to go back to the back to look for another mix. The cashier and bag lady was really nice as well. This Publix is big, so it has a lot of shelf space which means it carries more things than a smaller Publix. It had everything and more that I was looking for. I practically live here since I live right behind here and the store itself is beautiful and has most things I need. The deli department, however, needs some love. Every time I order a sub online for pickup, I wait a minimum of 20 past my pick up time to get it. Today was 30 min. I give up. I could have walked in and ordered it and gotten it in 5 minutes. I don't know what the hold up is, but there are never enough people working the sandwich counter even though there's a ton of people behind the deli counter. To add insult to injury, my sub was missing ingredients I put on the order. So frustrating. read more

I love this new location of Publix. It has a big parking lot so parking is easier to find. When it first opened it was very popular and a lot of people all the time. The crowd has come down and it's back to a normal Publix. It's very clean on the inside everything is always organized. You will even see the employees fixing boxes and making them look nicer. From the Protist to the seafood section everything is always neat and tidy. The employees there are very nice and always asking if there's anything they can do to help. They will go out of their way to take you to find an item. It's it may not look as big as the other Publix but it's definitely new and cleaner read more

LOTS OF EXPIRED ITEMS, READ EXP DATES! ----- I should have taken pictures of them, but I wasn't thinking of reviewing at the time. I went to pick up 4 items and of the 4, 2 items were expired. Luckily, I checked the expiration dates before purchasing. The La Colombe cold brew coffee on clearance was expired by about 10 days. Some pita bread was also expired by a month. There was also a wrap brand by the deli that had all 3 of the sell by stickers torn in a way that the date was removed. Sketchyyyy. The checkout was quick and painless. read more

This is by far the best Publix around simply for the amazing staff and customer service. Its a bit smaller than some other Publix's but it makes up for the size in super helpful and friendly staff. Every time I go here its not super busy (win!). Everything is well stocked and the staff are fantastic. So friendly! From the deli to the checkout, they make a point to smile, make conversation, and engage the customers. I leave always feeling happy (and not because I just reloaded up on my favorite snacks!). I tip my hat to their management, they are certainly doing something right. I actually even sent Publix a message directly to compliment them, and I don't do that often! read more

I truly enjoy getting my prescriptions filled here! They are so efficient, professional and helpful. I have never had an issue with this pharmacy. When you call, they answer right away and are always willing to assist with anything you need. I wish I had the option of getting my whole family's prescriptions filled here. When news broke out that a new Publix will be opening up on Pines Blvd and Palm Ave, I was excited. Our go-to Publix previously was the one on Pembroke Road and Hiatus Road, but that one is ghetto. That one clearly needs a renovation and better staff. I have a friend who works for Publix and he says that Publix makes so much money that they'll just completely tear down a whole Publix just to renovate it. I believe Publix made as much as Nike did last year. But back to my review - I thought this place would be better, but it has been ridiculous on many fronts. We usually take advantage of their Deli Sub specials via online ordering and since this week Publix had their $5.99 whole sub special offers. We ordered online and said it will be ready in 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, we went there to pick it up, and lo and behold, our order was not ready yet. In fact, this is not the first time - it also happened back in March 7 and September 25. What can I say - I try to be forgiven. When we got there, there was a long line for walk-ins, but there was a long line for online orders as well. And we noticed that all the walk-ins were being taken care of first, which didn't make sense since all the online orders already waited long enough. Of course, all of us who ordered online became rambunctious. The manager was present and tried to calm the crowd, but come on, the process should have been managed better since this is not the first time this happens to online orders. There has to be a designated team to work the online orders especially if walk-ins become too overwhelming. Our 30 minute wait became an hour-long wait. And did I mention this is not the first time this has happened from this location? I respect Publix, but they have to tighten up. This cannot be the Publix way! Shopping has not been a pleasure. On a side note, when this Publix first opened up, I went to fill up our 5-gallon water bottles from their designated water vending machines, and boy did it taste funny! It tasted horrible that I had to dump all the water out and wash the whole container with soap just to get the smell and residue out. It happened twice but they corrected this issue later on. Publix better be monitoring the next service dates on these water vending machines. Otherwise, Publix will be the next #flintwatercrisis. read more

Loving the new Publix at the Pembroke Pines City Center. It's great for everything, including a quick bite. The Sushi is great, most people wouldn't expect that from a grocery store... but I'm telling you, it's good stuff! And everyone in Florida knows about Pub Subs, especially Chicken Tender Subs, but I actually saw a sticker at the sub counter for a Boar's Head Bold Madrasala Curry Chicken Breast Sub and it was amazing! It had creamy havarti cheese, cucumbers, spinach, onions, and honey mustard. It has now become my go to sub, I've had it three times already. All in all, loving the new location, design and the food, glad to have it at the new Pembroke Pines City Center, can't wait to see when it's all built out! read more

Wish I could give this Publix 5 stars, but the deli section is a disaster. The General Manager Mario was very helpful a week ago, and gave me my sandwich at no charge for the inconvenience. I went yesterday, and today for my daily sandwich on lunch break and it was the same disaster. Never any fruit punch, white bread is always as hard as a rock, lines are always long with 1 careless person working the deli, deli manager can careless about anything and walks like a turtle. Deli department should have fast paced people in order to keep the line to a minimum. Even if I say "A LITTLE" they put a handful of whatever veggie I select, and they're just so slow. It's an awful experience every time I go (2-3 times a week). I'm convinced all the good reviews are fake, or they just haven't been to the deli department. read more

I am loving this BIG and NEW Publix in my area. The one I typically shop is already showing its age and is limited by its small space. This Publix has a very large Pharmacy, large departments and a salad bar for a quick meal. I will say that in my few trips to this store I have only had one recurring disappointment - the meat department. There are many large refrigerator cases but they are barely stocked to capacity. On each of my trips they have not had in stock at least one item from the sales flyer, and another common item from my shopping list. (Things like Greenwise Ground Turkey, Cubed Steak, etc...) I think once the meat department is fully stocked this Publix will be worthy of 5 stars. read more

All customers are still trying to find their way around & the employees treat you like you're a huge inconvenience. Forget about asking for any help at the seafood counter either, because the guy that was working the day I ventured in to this Publix, was super mean and spoke over me when I was trying to order something from him.
