    Cookies & cream mousse cake

I ordered a birthday cake from Publix after hearing good things. It didn't disappoint! I had to wait several minutes at the bakery for someone to come help me (had ordered it online ahead of time). This was the cookie & cream mousse cake. Delicious and huge! Will be ordering from them again.

    Turkey and Gouda Pub Sub

I lived in Florida for 30 years so I always love a good Pub Sub! I went at lunch on a Friday and everyone else had the same idea. The sub line took forever, but good things come to those who wait. I always love all the fresh veggie options for toppings. I tried the Boars Head jerk turkey and Gouda sub on white. It was delicious; great quality ingredients! Also nice to have a little area to eat my munch in front of the store.

Why 4 stars and not 5? Because I have yet to find a "perfect" grocery store but I will admit Publix is not too far behind. I had honestly forgot to post a review after the several times I've been to this location but seeing a friend's review reminded me. So here goes. I absolutely love the location for the fact that it's within walking distance for me from my office. Pre-Covid I would swing by at least once a week to grab a quick bite or pick up last minute items like water etc. which I was surprised bc I was expecting to pay at least $2-3 for a gallon of water but it was under $2. Score!! Normally when I go it's around lunch time and I take a late lunch so it's not that crowded in the deli, hot foods or salad bar section. I do wish they would place disposable gloves on the salad bar bc of covid but I normally keep a pair with me which comes in handy if I get a salad. Still kind of hesitant to eat from open salad bar areas though bc I know people are in that area a lot but you can't live in fear just be cautious! One thing Publix will get my money for is their cakes! OMG they're so delicious and fresh....well majority of the times but I think that particular cake was another location so I won't go into that. But my daughter ordered a cake for my mom's 60th bday and that cake was huge!!! We had so many people tell us it was delicious and not dry at all. We've ordered several cakes from various locations and for the most part we were not disappointed.

I gotta say that I'm enjoying my new Publix given that it's 1/2 a mile away! While I was a loyal Teeter fan, Publix has become an important part of my grocery and lunch plans pretty quickly. Easy, underground parking, pop up the stairs or elevator to a light and bright grocery store. Grab some cookies or baked goods, then a Pub Sub at the deli, produce in the back and then shop for the rest of your groceries. A big thumbs up for their chicken tender pub sub, house ice cream and meats. I've only been here four or five times but impressed. It's a big store for something so convenient to downtown. And the staff is super nice here! So rock on, Publix! We've got so many great grocery choices now with you and Wegmans in town. And that is a great thing!

I had Publix cater 2 events for my new business. The Cuban sandwiches were good and fresh. The banana and honey roll ups not so much. The roll ups were hard. Not edible. The food prepared for the 2nd event was good the croissant sandwiches. The vegetable tray the Indian flavored chicken triangles. All good everyone asked Me who catered it.

I like that this store is downtown but I've noticed a few things about the bakery sometimes. Once I saw items marked at the wrong price because staff put the wrong tag on them. All of the small pies were marked with the size of the large price. I told the person in the bakery and she was nonchalant about the mixup like nothing would be done. I knew the price was wrong because I normally buy the item. Anyway, this week I went in the store and some of their bakery items were running out of time, like in 1 or two days. It was a lot of stuff. Instead of them marking down the price, they put a new label on top of some items. I noticed the sell by date but I didn't notice the label on top of another until I left the store. It's not a good practice. Just mark it down because it's not as fresh. I bought three different items for a work event or else I would have taken them back. Two items had stickers over the original. If I see this again I will discuss this with customer service. Maybe the original sticker was an error. I didn't ask, but my items did not taste fresh. I will say that at this store I once got a comp frozen item because the price did not ring up as shown on placard. This is normally practice at some Publix store, I think. The store is normally clean and stocked though.

What a bad experience...I ordered a holiday turkey meal from the Raleigh Publix on Peace street and the deli there forgot to fill my order. After an awkward wait, the guy in the deli threw a bunch of random stuff in the bag and said my order was complete. I checked the bag in front of them and said that I some of the items were missing items. (I.e. The fresh bakery rolls, the pie and my second mash potatoes), but he refused to listen. He said pie and rolls are in the front and that my order only listed one mash potatoes. Note: There was only one mash potatoes listed individually on the receipt because the other one is part of the actual Turkey meal bundle. I asked to speak to a manager and he found the missing pie that I pre-bought in the bakery and the other guy coevally threw a bad tiny bag of Hawaiian rolls in my bag (instead of the 12 pc bakery fresh ones that I pre-purchased). The Manager seemed like he was not listening to me about the other oddities. So as I left and said to him what was the point of pre-purchasing this stuff, if some of the items I ordered were not ready and others not available at my scheduled pick up time? No one at the store cared except for one young lady that was bagging my other groceries, she said I should speak with her manager and when I said I did already he left the front area. Note: One of the other randomly unauthorized substitutions that I noticed is that they gave me Marshmallow Delight (made with coconuts) and I am allergic to coconuts. Also the switching out my mash potatoes for a huge gravy exemplifies how careless they were in preparing my order. This is Publix, not KFC there are no mash potatoes at the bottom.

It's hilarious to me -- and honestly very fitting, considering I'm married to someone from…read moreRochester -- that my 1,000th Yelp review is for Wegmans. I don't usually review grocery stores, but I genuinely love Wegmans, and this location in particular is fantastic. The store is always immaculate, the staff are consistently friendly and helpful, and it's usually very well stocked every time I go. I'll agree with other reviewers that Wegmans can feel a little pricier than some other grocery stores, but I've never actually sat down and compared receipts because, frankly, I love the products they carry. At this point, I'm a forever Wegmans girlie. Also, they keep sending me 10% off coupons, so apparently the marketing team knows exactly what they're doing -- because I absolutely will drive farther than necessary for a good grocery experience. Beyond the standard grocery selection, their prepared foods section is HUGE, and the sushi is genuinely good. Grocery store sushi can be a gamble, but Wegmans does it so well they even opened their own sushi restaurant in NYC, which is a pretty fun flex. As a bonus, they carry all the essential Western New York staples: Chiavetta's sauce, Spiedie sauce, kummelweck rolls, Zweigle's whites and reds, Bills merch, Weber's mustard, Labatt Blue and Blue Light, plus several Finger Lakes wines. Big fan!

Well, if you know you know. And I could end my review there but you opened my review up to read…read moresooooooo ... F what you know about grocery stores because Wegmans is the King of High End Grocery. I'll immediately tell you that my star bump is because of cost and no dining at this location ("trust me bro", that's not really a major deciding factor). I've been to locations that offer up dining and amazing draft beer options, and costs at Wegmans aren't for the faint of heart but, in my Jim Carey voice, "lemme tell you somethinnnnn" ... their options will appease all types of food diets. Hands down, they have the BEST sushi options around. Fresh rolls, fresh sashimi, fresh nigiri ... the freshest and best you'll get at a non-Asian grocery store. Now you'll pay close to restaurant prices but it's well worth it. That is why I keep coming back to this location. And for beer and wine snobs, they got yo butt covered! I'd say 10-15% of the store is just wine and beer. Domestic and Foreign, as well as local. Gluten free brats, eat your heart out! I wandered down the gluten free aisle and got me some goodies! Gluten free Oreos and cereal . Wegmans brand is like a top tier option from Publix brand. And that's saying a lot, considering Publix brand is a galaxy away from Kroger brand. There are so many savory options here, including all the buffet stations. Listen, I just left here for my 5th time in (out of town but visiting for work) and will need to stop my review before my tummy forces me back there. Those in the know ... you're lucky to have this as an option here. Those out of the loop ... get some!!

Jerusalem Bakery & Grocery has most of what you need for cooking Arabic food I will say flat out its the best pita bread on the east coast. When i visited other cities family there would ask me to bring pita bread when I came. The meat, cheese and spinach pies are fantastic. The cheese pies are my personal favorites. The family that owns this place is really nice, and will be even more pleased and solicitous if you show a genuine appreciation for their food. Oh, and they have a dessert that I can never remember the name of, but which is also wonderful and difficult to find - it's the one made of filo dough with cheese inside and attar (the sweet sticky sauce) on top. I have yet to see it anywhere else in the U.S, and they do a good job of it. Like many bakeries, they bake early in the morning and sell until its gone. So best selection and quantity is going to be in the mornings. For the visit on Jan 7, 2025, I got 3 meat pies, 12 cheese pies, 4 pita bread bags, and 1 sesame date cookie package which is also a favorite of mine. Total $51.14. An important pro tip is that the pies and pita bread all freeze great. so go ahead and eat 1 pie while its warm, because it likely will be, and then quickly freeze the rest. Then, warm it up in a toaster oven.

The produce looked fine but it doesn't compare to H Mart's produce area as far as variety and size. But H Mart is in Cary and if that is not convenient for you, this will work just fine. I'm a flour tortilla girl and they looked a lot like the fresh tortillas I had in Texas. The tortilla section consisted of corn, but they had plenty of flour and some cactus. (Update: Ok, I am NOT claiming to be an authority on flour tortillas by any means. But having lived in Austin for over 20 years and having near-unlimited access to HEB's house brand tortillas when they are so fresh the package is almost too hot to hold, I'm not a tortilla newb, either. I have to say - and I am almost embarrassed to say this - I liked Trader Joe's flour tortillas a lot more than these. TJ's reminded me of HEB's. These tortillas got stiff when I heated them in my cast iron skillet.) Large section of dried beans. Some of it surprisingly expensive, but as I said, they have a large selection so they had reasonably priced ones too, nearly an entire aisle of them. What I was drawn to was their selection of sodas (or "fun drinks", as we call them in my house because I am a mean mom who doesn't let my kid drink soda). Of course they had Mexican Coke and Jarritos, and they also had banana and grapefruit sodas, which I had never seen before. And they also had Topo Chico, which I haven't been able to find since moving to NC from Texas! Only mineral water, no lime. I love their cheese section - I wish I had taken pictures. I saw Salvadorean and Honduran cheeses and cream, which I would love to try in the future. I don't live that close but am willing to put this in my regular rotation, especially if no other grocery near me carries Topo Chico.
