NO PETS Policy - Thank you so much Publix Supermarkets for the stance you are taking to post NO PETS in your stores. I only wish ALL public places would follow your lead. I do not appreciate shopping in stores that smell and sound like a kennel or use a cart has been used by animals, which also holds my fresh food and grandchildren. People who do not have dogs (pets) or are allergic to them should be considered. It's shocking the amount of dogs that are in restaurants, grocery stores, stores and so on that have no reason whatsoever to be there other than they just didn't leave them at home. If they cannot leave the house without their pet, they should seek professional help and order food delivery. Gee I hate to buck the tide of bad reviews, but I have found this Publix to be very good! I was surprised how well organized it was (I could find stuff) and the store is much friendlier than my usual Publix, AND no pan-handlers in the parking lot following you! Don't order a Birthday cake, very bad taste! Many years we have orders cakes there and they were great and we got customer service. Now we order the same cake chocolate on chocolate (very simple) and the frosting taste like "coffee". And last year the cake was so bad we all got sick, so I threw the cake out. I called Publix and they said they couldn't do anything cuz I threw the cake out. Now this year I still have the cake and I called the store and the bakery said "someone would call me". I am very disappointed, a very expensive cake tasting bad and no customer service. So, next year I won't be buying cakes at Publix in Palmetto Fl ever again. read more

For location, cleanliness, and friendliness. This Publix has them all. There has been some items in recent trips I've been unable to find and an employee has helped me find what I'm looking for. Location is very convenient to the area. I was approached a few times to ask if I needed help, which is a plus in this age. I found everything I needed very quickly. The store appeared to be clean. I saw people lined up near the bakery and deli for fresh cut cheeses and deli meats. There was a nice selection of spices and foods in the international aisle. This is probably my 4th time within the last week. Great place for the area. read more

I've lived in Florida for 40 years and Publix has always had a high standard for service with customers and products. I am an Uber driver that shops at multiple locations. It is sad that the Palmetto location is down the street from my home and by far the worst operating Publix with the availability of products. Their deli also seems to have multiple employees with only one or two serving customers. On one occasion I asked the manager and told him about a product not available, I stated it seems a lot of product were not available and he was obviously annoyed. Another manager stated it was due to the area we are in. Publix should hold a high standard regardless of area. read more

2.5 is generous! Started online grocery ordering. Horrible. Website cumbersome. 1st time waited forever. Shopper just came in to work & hadn't even started my order. 2nd time...nightmare. Ordered...pick up bet 11 to 12. Around 10 got text saying my time was going 2b changed. Didnt say when so I called. Girl said she didn't even see my order. I said well I got a text!!! Went home. 15m after being home got text advising my groceries ready. Called MANAGER. He checked & said all there. Sent husband over 2pick up. This Publix has never once honored their policy where if they get it wrong, you get it free. I have experienced this on several occasions where the food is marked a certain price and it rang up wrong at the register. Instead of giving it to me like they have at every other Publix I've ever been to, they send me to customer service and give me change back for the difference. One such instance occurred when I picked up a whole chicken and got home to find it was missing a breast and both legs! I don't know what is going on with this store but they don't have it together. read more

This is my local publix and my favorite around the area. I come often for a sushi fix, and find the sushi is always fresh and well prepared. The sushi maker is super friendly and always waves and says thank you. The cashiers are very friendly and helpful as well. The only comment I have is the cashiers on several occasions have made a comment about one of my purchases being too pricey. This happens every so often and mostly with the sushi. Fresh, store bought sushi is hard to come by and I do not mind paying a little extra for the convenience and the quality. So I wish they would keep they're comments to themselves instead of making me feel bad about my purchase. All in all I do love this publix and you can tell they have made many improvements throughout the years. The store is clean, the pharmacy is fast and the faces are friendly. read more

Publix is, hands down, the best grocer I've used in Florida since moving here in 1980. Since moving to Palmetto in 2013 this has been our local store. They do a great job with decent selections in every department. Also Bernie at the liquor store next door is always helpful and has done many special orders for me. TIP: Always check the weekly flyer. They have them on the right as you walk in. There are plenty of sales and two-for-one deals, including wine. Also watch for the $10 gas card coupons when you spend $50. We get at least $200 of free gas a year from them. read more

My local but not my favorite publix, seems their selection is not as good as EG Fruitville rd in Sarasota or Cortex in Bradenton & getting a sandwich at the deli is an exercise in patience beyond belief. . read more

I have had 2 bad experience with the deli dept . I ordered a med sub platter and ask for my subs to be half boars head honey turkey & half boars head Italian with all my toppings on the side and half wheat & half white bread for both subs I get there a the turkey is wheat only and the Italian is white the so call manager said she could correct it and I told her that I have other things to do that's the reason why I made it over the phone and I told her to take something off the price so she did a whole 4 dollars . The chicken taste like it was fried in old grease that I purchase . A couple months ago I ordered a small sub platter half boars head honey turkey & half boars head Italian with all the toppings on the side, I pick up my platter and on my subs it had toppings on them so I had to wait for them at least 15 minutes for them to remake them. Been a Publix shopper for over 25 years & recently moved closer to this Publix. I have shopped here about 8 times now only because of convenience and the fact that I cringe if I have to shop at Walmart. This is by far one of the worst Publix stores that I have ever been at. The selection is not good, the deli is horrible when it comes to keeping the rotisserie chickens ready, (and their hot food in general) the staff are not the friendliest, and the pharmacy staff are just OK. And should you unintentionally have a few too many in the express checkout lane, the grumpy cashier Kerry will rudely remind you that you are in violation for being over the 10 item limit! I will drive the extra miles to the friendlier, better stocked and much more customer focused oriented Publix on Chin Rd. in Parrish. I have never had a bad experience at a Publix until this location. Do yourself a favor and shop at any Publix other than this location, it is truly horrible on so many levels. Twice this month I have ordered sandwiches online and twice this month I arrived at the store to find they were not prepared the first time they had run out of bread and last night there was no good excuse and the deli was pretty much dead but despite their being slow my sandwich order was still not ready. The poor girl was so confused and the other girl just stood there and rubbed her nose with the clear glove on her right hand. I just Shrugged It Off and told them thanks but no thanks. The one girl said she was sorry and I said so am I and went and got a frozen dinner. The Palmetto store has gone from bad to worse in my opinion at least where the deli is concerned. This store marks BOGO's and then doesn't ring them up at the register. I would swear that for this particular Publix that it's store policy? By the time you get home, you really don't want to return for $4. I love Publix in general; it is only the Silverleaf branch where I have had this repeated unfortunate experience. I will go out of my way not to shop there from now on. I'm not sure whether it's mismanaged or just cunningly managed. However, I think in the long run, this strategy will loose clients. read more

I have pictures but I can't figure out how to post them. I took them at the Public Deli in Palmetto yesterday, 5/11/16. A picture says a thousand words. I saw workers pick up things off the ground, move things, and then make sandwiches or cut meat. They don't change gloves so why they wore them to begin with unless it's to protect their hands from all the germs back there. The case had a fly and it was a mess. Garbage was overflowing, and it was on the floor. It looked like it had not been really cleaned in there for months. The floor was very dirty and sticky in the front where people order and when I looked over the counter it was even worse. There were tomato pieces and lettuce on the floor. It looked like dirty pans on the floor and there was an employee eating back there. Even when they opened the door to where the sinks are it looked chaotic and dirty. This particular Publix has always been dirty but I see it's unsanitary and I think it's unsafe. I'm certain there must be dozens of health violations. I can't understand how this is allowed to continue. Maybe because this area is not a wealthy one? I like Public and this is convenient for me. I hope they get it together but I think it should be closed until it is fixed. read more

Time again the customer service at their Deli section leave a lot to be desired. The ticket dispenser is never working so that when you walk up you don't know who is up next and you stand in "line" hoping eventually you will be served in a timely fashion - never happens. It's just so different at the site compared to any other Publix I have shopped at. Sarasota Publix is top notch so is the one on Manatee Ave. I am always unpleasantly unsurprised. Hey there Palmetto Publix, can you change anything for the better in you Delu department? Can the ticket dispenser always work and can the wait times for sliced cheese and meat be shorter? It's shorter in Sarasota and on Manatee, and those store are very very busy, so why not you? But not to be thoroughly critical so let me look for a good thing to say: let me say my favorite person is Ms Katrina who is always smiling.
