This store is one of the best Publix I have ever experienced. But there are several of the cashiers and one manager named Sarah that completely lacks the social skills and respect for the Publix Organization. Almost 100% of the associates properly greet customer therefore this manager is a failure at reflecting the Publix policy of acknowledging and greeting customers. She is not qualified nor does she has personal skills required to manage coworkers if she fails to perform the basic duty of making shopping at Publix an enjoyable experience. We shopped at this Publix a couple of times and also ordered made to order subs here one evening. The parking leaves much to be desired. There's a garage but it's small. There's also an open air lot. If you want a kid-friendly car cart, make sure to grab it before heading up the escalator. The sub we ordered had the meat cut in front of us and I appreciated the extra chipotle sauce. The prices of the merchandise seemed on the higher end than, say, Harris Teeter. I didn't notice too many store brand options. read more

Been going to this Publix for a while now and I order lunch meats online from the deli to make the shopping experience quicker. Four times this place has messed these orders up whether it's not fixing them or sending it to another store it's been a hassle going through them to get it taken care of, will never use this system again it's COUNTERPRODUCTIVE and after the fourth time speaking with the deli manager and a floor manager in the produce section I got nothing but arrogance attitude and no type of solution just a bunch of head shaking and nodding. Was in deli waited 15 minutes when just before my turn the deli bitch said they only had 2 more sub rolls after i watched her take 3 rolls out and took them in the back then the lame ass manager gives me some bullshit about online orders which seems improbable but whatever they should have let the rest of us know this if its true rather than stand there like morons. This Publix is the worst when it comes to allowing animals. I kid you not I minimally see 3 dogs every time I'm in this place. Service animals do not ride in the basket of a cart! The last thing I want is some dogs leftover butt juice on boxes/cans/bags of food I've purchased. This is the last time I'll shop at this location. I like Publix a lot, and this location is closest to my residence. I'm in the store daily. Particularly, I get the weekly sub special. Tonight I went to the deli counter for chicken wings and mac/cheese. The customer ahead of me in-line said "well, I'll tell you what not to get. The ribs. They were terrible". So, naturally I asked the clerk about the ribs and how consistent they are. I got a rib dinner with two sides for $6.99 and it was tender, smoky, sweet. Conclusion: ribs are inconsistent, but can be great. They should undercook the macaroni so it's not mushy after baking and sitting; but the crowd likes it, so my suggestions are ignored. read more

We were driving into downtown along Tamiami and noticed this Publix, and needed a loaf of bread, so... Wow, what a beautiful Publix! They are not just brand spanking new, they have cool gadgets: the area is built-up, so the ground floor is parking, there are escalators and elevators and a staircase if you want the workout, but when returning to your car, they have a special down-escalator for your shopping cart -- no kidding, the shopping cart attaches to this central "lane" and rides down level, with an attendant at the bottom to free it and return it to you. Everyone was ogling that as they came and went from this ultra-new (opened three days ago) supermarket. Everything is new and shiny and spacious and clean... There are many good things on all the shelves, large jars of spices (not just the wimpy and overpriced 1.2 oz jars everyone carries) and organic vegetables -- and while we originally stopped in for bread, we wound up buying bread and curry powder and celery and potatoes (BOGO on the potatoes) and onions and King Arthur flour and sugar... just a lot of really good things in there, all looking clean and fresh and NEW... and cheerful stockers, too, even with white-shirted supervisors prowling around to make sure no one was having TOO much fun :-) Go there, it's like Supermarket TomorrowLand. Stroke the shiny ultra-clean escalator handrails, they'll never be this amazingly perfect again. read more

Other than being brand spanking new, it's just your typical publix. Although it is allot bigger than the average publix and the parking garage underneath the building is great, especially when the whether isn't nice. The staff was great and very helpful. read more

This store is within walking distance from me but they always manage to unimpress. They consistently don't have items that are advertised in the weekly flyer. When I reached the final straw today and spoke with the young girl at customer service she said she knew because she has the same issue AND she works there! Paradise Publix, on the other hand is a few miles away and continues to be the absolute best Publix in all of Florida and it's worth the added drive to get there-even in snowbird season. When they say, "My pleasure" they mean it. Bay Road could take lessons from them! read more

This is my favorite location to go to. It's super clean, has covered parking, very nice employees and an amazing selection of pre-made meals. I love their teriyaki chicken and rice bowl as well as their sushi selection. Every Wednesday they have $5 sushi deals. It's never too busy and there is always parking available. read more

Top notch in customer service and quality of product. We flew in for Thanksgiving and ordered our dinner in box from the deli. The whole dinner from turkey to relish was well done and easy to heat and eat. The deli manager made sure I knew what to do before I left. read more

They always had hand sanitizer wipes by the carts. Now an employee with a dirty cloth rag and some sanitizer is wiping down the carts. Not acceptable. At least use a clean paper towel. Or have someone pass out one wipe at a time to customers. read more

Okay, okay, we live within a 5 minute walk to this place so to say we are here often is an understatement. This is a fine smaller publix for a touristy area, often out of the local beer choices, or other desirable choices that aren't bud or coors. The reason for 3 stars...THE DELI. Not sure why this deli, knowing many folks are headed to the beach, are so slow. They have one gal that is just plain horrible. Ask for your cheese sliced thin....laughable. Hoagie...takes forever. Just make sure you have time if you're getting anything from the deli and expect it to be just okay most of the time. Also, almost never have rotisserie chicken past 6:30?!?!? This is a fine publix. Same as many others in the Sarasota area, except it has a parking garage and is near downtown. The prices seem higher than others nearby and higher than grocery stores in other parts of the country, even high cost of living areas like Chicagoland. read more

Publix is the largest Super Market Chain in Florida with friendly convivial service from wonderful employees. Unfortunately, when checking out each cash register ringer is forced to solicit each customer for donations to one of the Corporate Office's favorite charities of the day. I find it intimidating to be asked for a donation with several people standing behind me twitching uncomfortably as they are next inline to be panhandled in the same fashion. What smart remark should one make? After all, the holiday season of giving is over. The bell ringer for the Salvation Army is gone from the front door; Santa has returned to the North Pole; the food bank has shut down after the collection for the holidays. Why the continued harangue for donations? I guess I'll shop at Whole Foods where I will find peace of mind without embarrasement. Tried another Publix with the same panhandling results. read more
