I came into this Publix supermarket to get a cold beverage to keep myself hydrated in this unbearable heat. Many people were shopping but it didn't feel crowded. In the produce/bakery section, there was an open deck chiller filled with Publix deli iced tea and lemonade. I grabbed a small bottle of raspberry iced tea and quickly checked out. In this day and age, we have all unfortunately become accustomed to customer service that is rushed or indifferent. True, heartfelt care has become a rarity. But this past Saturday, May 23rd, your pharmacist, Justin Burke completely shattered those low expectations and did something quite extraordinary. I had just returned home from the hospital on Saturday following a stent procedure. I am supposed to be recovering, resting, and strictly limiting my movement and driving. On Saturday afternoon, I realized to my dismay that one of my crucial recovery prescriptions had accidentally been left out of my discharge paperwork. I called the hospital, and they immediately called It in. When I called the pharmacy to check on it, they said it might be a bit late in the day but would put a rush on it because they understood the importance. I thanked them but explained my dilemma: I had already made one trip out that day, I was in surgical recovery, and I wasn't supposed to be behind the wheel. I asked if there was any possible way they had delivery available. The pharmacist, Justin Burke, realized it was a bit late in the afternoon for the standard delivery window, and it might not make it to me on time. So, I said "ok, no problem, I'll go slow and get there to pick it up." Justin said "hold on a minute, I can't have you doing that. What happened next absolutely shocked us. Without a moment's hesitation, Justin said, "You know what? I get off work at 6:10. I am going to bring it to your house myself. Where do you live?" My wife and I were stunned. (I thought I would need another stent LOL) True to his word, the moment his shift ended, Justin drove to my home and personally delivered my medication so that a recovering patient wouldn't have to risk driving back out. I have always been a loyal Publix customer, but after this experience, I am no longer just a customer--I am a lifelong champion of Publix Super Markets, and most particularly, the pharmacy department at Coconut Creek Plaza. Justin Burke didn't just do his job; he exemplified the absolute highest standard of human decency and community care. The deli has the WORST service. They employee more deli people than other deli stores except they are all always standing around talking to each other. Lines are long but it's rare when they have 2 people. Either this place has terrible deli management or they just don't have a manager. Take a ride to a different publix deli instead of the coconut creek one it's not worth the wait to just hear the deli employees gossip instead of work. I love this Publix. It's clean, and the produce is always fresh. I will say it's busier than others I have visited, and the check out lines are longer. Of course, I could choose to do self check out, but doing that I feel would affect people's jobs, so I patiently wait. Always a pleasurable experience. Great job management and staff! read more

Why is the price on their app approximately 10% more than the product costs in store? For instance 11 oz containers of blueberries are 5.99 in the store and $6.63 online. Not only that but they charge a service fee, and when I look at the explanation it's to cover costs. They don't have a service fee to cover the costs of shopping in the store, so why do they have one when shopping online? read more

Extremely poor customer service. Certain cashiers treat elderly customers with no respect. Each cashier thinks theyre the boss. Extremely rude. Told the GM multiple times of poor, & rude service. management doesn't seem to care. They don't care if you call corporate on them. Getting a little tired of waiting 45 minutes to get anything done at the deli meat counter, three people back there, two wondering aimlessly and one actually working. And when I finally get some service I tell the person 1 LB of smoked ham, they bring out boiled ham, I tell them smoked ham, I couldn't see the label so I end up with Tavern ham, now I'm tired of dealing with the lazy employee and just take the Tavern ham but of course I get a 1/2 LB and not the full 1 LB I asked and did not notice till I got home. If the help is incompetent fire them because all your doing is pissing people off with all these incompetent wondering around doing nothing. Just to entertain myself, I found the same girl and asked her, "Excuse me. Is your eye solution frozen?" "Umm ... no." "Okay, thanks." I walked away and found someone else, who led me to the area where you will find eye solution in almost any supermarket--walk in, make a left, and walk to the end near the pharmacy. I asked another employee if they had Petey's Bing. She said, "Bang?" "Bing." "No, I don't think so." I checked out the Specialty Drinks aisle and they had Bing. Whatever you do, don't place an online order to here. Or if you do, then don't pay ahead so you can abort when they don't fill it. I made an order from the deli, and it was not in the pick up window at the scheduled time. No problem, I picked the shortest deli line so I could ask someone about it. I was told that it would be in the pickup window. I said that it was not, and would they please look for the order. They blew me off and said to look in the window again. It was not. I tried again with the same results. I already paid for the order, otherwise I would have just left - so I had to wait in the now 45 minute long line at the sandwich counter. 45 minutes later I showed the deli tech my order and asked them to make the sandwiches for me. Instead they said the order was probably already filled, and went around to several places behind the counter and came back with my sandwiches which had been sitting an hour and a half in the warmer. I forgot to mention that there were 3 other customers who were standing around trying to figure out where their orders were too, so this is not an isolated incident. If there was an option for zero stars, I would have selected that. read more

No telehealth prescriptions anymore after I spent 20-30 min waiting for the prescription. The pharmacist was rude as well. When I asked what I can do she said "go in person" do you not realize it takes months to get an appointment with a psychiatrist in person that's why people opt into telehelth. Wow, this is a big Publix! I like this store but the parking lot is busy! Please pay attention to your surroundings since there have been recent reports of theft/purse snatchings. Loved the deli! Both ladies were so very nice to me and they had everything I needed. Picked up a birthday cake in the bakery & it was ready when I went to pick it up. I didn't taste it but it did look good! I didn't appreciate the long lines and the cashier seemed a bit "off". I only had three items; two deli platters & a cake so I went to the express lane. There were just four people ahead of me & I waited fifteen minutes. I'll be honest, the parking lot made me nervous & I was constantly looking over my shoulder. In my opinion, there are better Publix stores within minutes of this one. read more

I am giving a one star mostly because the store management obviously does not know how to instruct their check out clerks how to handle produce checkout. Maybe alot of your customers dont mind the filth, but I dont want to see a clerk who has been touching all sorts of products, money(which is super filthy), their nose etc putting their filthy hands in my produce bags, digging around to find a upc label so they can scan. I mean all over the product. It is bad enough who did what getting it to the shelf How about this. This Publix has been here since forever. I used to come here a lot when my son was small. It looks dated. I had a hard time finding things and I felt items are in an odd positioning. Also, there was a bus from the senior community near by loading and unloading passengers, which made things a little chaotic to drive around it. I remember that being something I disliked about this store and I was reminded of when I came. Cashiers and baggers were very nice. Parking lot was chaotic. There are other shops around here, like Big Lots, a Pet supply store, banks, which makes this shopping plaza a one stop shopping trip. read more

This Publix is "meh", but convenient for me. For example, I ordered subs online and waited in line for 20 mins since it wasn't where the online orders were supposed to be. For whatever reason, they had them behind the counter. I ordered 2, they tried to give me 1, and I paid extra for something I didn't end up getting. That sort of thing. People who work there are generally OK and just trying to do their best, though a lot of "young" people work there and just like to talk to each other like kids do. The clientele is either hood people or really old people bussed in from Wynmoor - either way, they're mean / cranky. A lot of ghetto people on their phones talking on speakerphone, etc. The set up is a little unorganized. Selection is OK - can find some good organic, GF etc products, but not all. So - A-OK. Like I said, I really thing they are doing their best during these times. But even pre-covid it wasn't necessarily a "pleasure" to come here. But not bad, either. read more

Went through the line around 9pm and the staff was too busy clowning around to notice that they had rung me for an item that wasn't mine. I had to stand in line now a second time to return the item and get a refund. The team leader (with the big fake eyelashes) refunded me and said she would speak to the cashier, who then was throwing a fit (hands literally in the air) saying she wasn't doing anything wrong. I interjected and said she should stop playing around and they shouldn't have their phones in their hands WHILE helping customers. The team leader then cut me off and told me "sir you're not going to speak to her like that" then she got a nasty attitude with me as well. She passed me off to the customer service manager who proceeded to just nod at every complaint I had in order to just get me out of the store. The phones are getting out of hand. These kids shouldn't have to be baby-sat. The team leader should have been leading her team, but she obviously failed and is "friends" with the cashiers/baggers. I expected better from Publix, but in this particular location, there's never a dull moment. My time wasted and my night ruined. I don't want to come back here ever again. The lesson here is that you NEVER know who your customers are, and if they TOO work in customer service. What an embarrassing interaction. They should be ashamed. read more

Shopping is rarely a pleasure at this location especially with the rude and sloppy deli team. Their prepared foods are often nasty and missing ingredients. Their deli slices and separates meat so sloppily and their bakery does not make good pastelitos at all. The cashiers are always nice and inventory is usually good but the deli, prepared foods, and bakery consistently disappoint. I wish there was a better Publix nearby. This one is dreadful. read more

This is the best subs I've had supermarket game. The subs are huge, and they come with a heavenly serving of meat. The lines are short, you can choose exactly what you want or BUILD your own sandwich. My whole sandwich was $8 and change. It was a cheap, affordable, and great way to have lunch. I highly recommend publix sandwiches. The works were incredibly, incredibly sweet and caring. I enjoyed it a lot and God bless everyone working here !!! read more

Literally waited for 20 minutes in line, next time I will order online and pick. Could have did it while waiting in line may have been faster. This has got to be one of the worst Publix locations. Outside the store, there are often people panhandling - asking for money. I went here 2-3 weeks ago and two different young men were standing outside asking for money. One on the way in and one on the way out. I spoke to the female manager about it who barely acknowledged me and seemed like she didn't care/wouldn't correct the situation. Very often, it seems like drifters just sit or stand outside the store smoking and asking customers for money and MANAGEMENT seems to do nothing about customer harassment. Many of the customers wear PJs, slippers, and low-life clothing styles. Makes for a depressing shopping experience. In addition, I usually can't get the specialty foods available at other stores. I now go to the Winston Park Publix because this Coconut Creek Parkway location is so bad and feels unsafe. The Coconut Creek Parkway store itself doesn't seem as clean and bright as other stores. I also feel more unsafe in the parking lot because the customers are so down-and-out. I don't go to this store anymore unless it's an absolute emergency because it is such a depressing, low-vibe experience. In general, I LOVE Publix Supermarket stores because they always are bright, clean, fairly-priced, well-stocked with good products, with friendly, helpful staff. This store JUST KEEPS GOING DOWNHILL. My personal favorite and strong recommendation would be the chicken tender sub. The deli makes rotisserie chicken, and also fried tenders daily. They will cut up the fried tenders for you and put on a sub with your choice of bread, and add buffalo (or any sauce) to the sub for you.
