A grocery store is generally something I would not review on Yelp. However, my local Publix on Indian Rocks Road near the intersection of Wallsingham is such a super place to shop that I have to sing its praises. First of all you need to sign up for their paperless coupon club. Every year on the anniversary of the day you sign up they give you a text message saying you get a free bouquet of flowers. On your birthday, you get either a loaf cake or a half a gallon of Publix ice cream. The store is always clean, well organized, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I almost always save $20 or $30 per visit on the buy-one-get-one-free specials. But today I'm just happy because I have these beautiful flowers and later today I will be sharing one of the bouquets with a friend. So thank you, Publix. read more

I walked into the store and met Chris , the manager, along with americo, who was bringing the trash in. I gestured for him to come in first, but he insisted that I came in before l. He had a trash can full to the side of a mountain. Chris went out of his way to walk in front of me and then I made a joke because he was attempting to make me laugh when I was having a bad day. The store is full of friendly people and full of joyfulness that is really hard to come by from where I come from in the West Coast. Everyone here from in the deli, going out of his way to get a piece of paper for me to write down something for an elderly woman who forgot her phone for a reference, to the due diligence of Americo , Leann helped me out as well she was very friendly to me , the staff helped me out a lot everyone had been very helpful here , rob was amazing to me . Publix does a great job as a supermarket. Always clean and well organized. I didn't know this previously about Publix but recently while visiting my parents we decided to have crab legs for dinner and after lots of research I decided to go to Publix and get the crab legs. The best part of this whole dinner was the seafood department steamed the crab legs for us, with old bay also, so all we had to do was go home and start eating. We ordered 8 LBs of crab legs cooking them at home would have been tough. I greatly appreciate them doing this. The crab legs were excellent! We will definitely be going to Publix again for this in the future. read more

One nasty employee one time says they're having a bad day. Twice in 6 months says there is a serious management issue. Never been treated like that in any store least of all a publix. Went to the publix in the indian rock shopping center and was approached by a very rude employee (Joann). My fiancé and I were very polite assuming that maybe she would calm down but continued to be very rude and loud with us. After she had walked away we were approached by another employee (kim- assistant department manager in the deli) She was ever MORE rude! Extremely short and loud and honestly just made me look at the whole store differently. I wouldn't recommend this publix- their staff is extremely rude. read more

As with all Publix locations I have been to in Florida over the years, this store is much older than the stores in Nashville - and it shows. Despite the age of the building and shelves, this store was clean. It seems smaller since the stores here also carry a large selection of beach-going items, and have an aisle solely for wine. Somehow it is all cram-packed in there...neatly. I thought the produce section at this location was very tastefully displayed and well-stocked. On 9.30.15 I ordered a birthday cake from Publix. The family was celebrating my fathers 87th birthday along with his wife's 85th. My parents wanted a yellow cake with strawberries and whipped topping. I called the bakery and spoke to Kimberly who took my order. She was very friendly and helpful. I informed her I wanted the floral design, chocolate roses cake, but wanted to make sure they could do the entire cake, including the flowers in whipped topping. She assured me that wasn't a problem. I then asked her about the fillings and she read off all the filling choices, including "fresh strawberries." I asked if it was just strawberries or more like a puree. She explained it was freshly cut up strawberries that were glazed. I told her that would be perfect and she added it to the order. 10.03.15 @ noon, My daughter and I went to pick up the cake. While we were in the car I noticed the intake order form. It stated yellow cake with whipped topping. The portion of the form that had filling choices was blank and I thought "oh crap they forgot the filling." We drove back to Publix with the cake and asked about the filling. The lady informed me it wasn't ordered. When I explained it WAS ordered they offered to fix it and asked if I could give them 20 minutes. I had no problem waiting so I left the cake and did some shopping. As I walked away I could hear one of the ladies sarcastically say "that lady didn't order no filling." 1PM we went back to the bakery and picked up the cake. It was all fixed and we brought the cake home. While we were taking the cake out of the box and moving it to the table my hand hit one of the frosted flowers. I actually licked the frosting off my finger, only to find the cake was covered in buttercream, not whipped. I immediately called the store to find out what happened. Someone in the bakery informed me that the cake itself was frosted with whipped cream, however the decorations were not and if I wanted whipped cream on the decorations, I should have been specific when I ordered. While we were talking I could hear someone yelling in the background that the cake was all whipped and whomever this was, was really angry. I had to explain that 1. I DID order the decorations whipped and 2. I could hear the person yelling in the background. A manager came onto the phone and I explained what happened. I offered to bring the cake back so they could re-frost it properly. 2:15PM we went back to Publix. The manager of the bakery was outside when we walked up. She immediately took the cake, started apologizing and said there was no way she was going to allow me to pay for the cake. She also informed me the person who took my order was very kind, however they've had "one of those days" and she was going to call back every customer that placed an order with her to make sure it was accurate. I informed her I understand that mistakes are made, things happen. What I was most upset about was the sarcastic comments in the store and the screaming over the phone. It was very unprofessional, and uncalled for. Luckily it only took the baker about 10 minutes to fix the frosting. She was super quick and fun to watch. In the end my order was refunded and the cake was amazing. Everyone at the party absolutely loved it. I will definitely order from there again. I hope Kimberly will understand the importance of taking orders accurately. All of the issues with the cake could have been avoided. read more

Publix is my main supermarket for shopping. I can choose from five locations within a four mile radius, and each store is unique. There are always employees on hand when you have a question or need to be guided to the correct aisle. Their produce is always fresh and if you find a bad lot, they will gladly return it for an exchange or refund. Their weekly sales are always good and they have the Sushi $5 Wednesday. read more

I was impressed with this store, their friendly help, and the quality of many items. --after getting ripped off w/Salt Rock Grill pretending to serve me filet, I purchased a nice piece of center sirloin for one of our stay at home nights. No surprise at the negative reviews for this Publix. I have been an loyal Publix shopper for over the 20 years I have lived in Florida. This by far, has to be hands down the absolutely worst Publix I have ever been in. Customer service is non existent. Nobody will help you, direct you to where something is located, or check in back for stock. Never has that been an issue shopping at other locations. Publix is always well known for not only excellent quality food but also outstanding customer service. On a recent visit I was greeted with "That's not my department", "Go find so and so in the back isle", "go talk to the manger over there"... And the worst part of all was when I did speak with the department manager CHRIS, an arrogant, rude, unhelpful, and disrespectful person. He talked down to me like I was an idiot and would not help me and see if they had a product in stock that I really needed. Flat out told me he was not going to see if they had what I was looking for. He pointed to the shelf and told me to find something out there. I have never been spoken to so rudely and treated with such disrespect. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS LOCATION!! Furthermore, I am passing on my experience to everyone I know. And since doing so, I find that many people I have spoken to have had a similar experience at this Publix and with the Rude and Disrespectful manager CHRIS. Stay away for this location!!! I have always been happy with the deli here. I order subs for carryout frequently and have never had one be incorrect. One time I wanted the spicy chicken wings when I was there. I asked the deli person if they had any. None were ready but they made me a box of them on the spot. Perfectly cooked, nice and juicy. A special compliment to Maureen in the plant department. I wanted to get my plant loving wife a plant but I know nothing about them. Maureen was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Questioned me about what characteristics I was looking for, where it will be planted, etc. and helped me make a selection. Our lavender plant is doing wonderfully. read more

I have been shopping at this Publix location 12022 Indian Rocks Rd for over 20 years and have always been impressed with this store. Today while shopping for beer the cold beer section was very empty of even the local brands. Several empty spaces. My particular brand was completely empty. The manager said the beer truck hasn't arrived yet. I explained to him why do Publix employees let the store run out so quickly. This place must have been designed by individuals who have no idea what ergonomics is. The store itself is actually pretty nice, but the parking lot had to have been designed by complete morons. Half of its 1 way rows, even the outside roads that lead to the exits. It requires you to drive to the other side of the parking lot, then back to the side you were on to get to an exit. It may not be much, but it's still a waste of time and gas just because the idiots who own/designed this place would rather their parking lot look nice than function properly. They used to take my business from WalMart because their parking lot is atrocious too, but after they changed the Publix one around, the WalMart one is a walk in the park in comparison. Until they change this, I will drive the extra bit to Vonn Publix or WalMart from now on. Sucks since this publix is so close I can see it from my house. read more
