Since this Publix supermarket was conveniently located in the Palm Lakes plaza across from where I picked up my pizza, I thought I would stop by to get a few items. This was my first time visiting since the renovation. While the supermarket was large, clean, and well-organized with a second-floor eating area, I couldn't help but noticed a strong urine odor in several aisles that was incredibly off-putting. I quickly picked up a few items to snack on, then proceeded to checkout where I received satisfactory customer service. I'm not sure if I would return to this location. The layout of the shopping plaza has too many obstacles where I noticed some people driving recklessly through the premises. Parking spaces fills up quickly. read more

II can't believe I haven't been to this Publix since the remodeling! I popped in just before closing but loved what I saw. They now have a drive-through pharmacy, which is super convenient. The redesigned food court area is a great addition. I was excited to see options like sushi, ramen, and a variety of bowls, definitely enough to make me return for a meal next time. The new layout feels modern and inviting, making shopping here even more enjoyable. Being late the que was empty and check out fast I'll be back. read more

This is my first time going to this brand new Publix and I was so impressed. They have so much lunch options. I will definitely come back to try the Ramen soup and the sushi. I noticed they have a lot of different flavors. They have $5 sushi on Wednesday as well. They have a second floor seating where you can enjoy your meal. I love how new everything looks and love the layout. They also have a drive thru pharmacy. I would definitely go back this Publix location. read more

This is One of the Worst Grocery Stores in the Publix Chain. They Never Re-Stock any BOGO Item. If you go the same day. and the Item is out of stock. you have to wait an extra 15 Minutes for them to Bring it Out. And more than 30% of their bogos are Not even Marked! I can't tell you , How many times . The Bogo is Not even Available at this Location. I've Shopped Public for 40 years. And had the mis-Fortune to retire Next to this Store. read more

We've lived in this area for years and watched the renovation of this new Publix . This Publix is beautiful but my boyfriend and I went there twice in a week to the deli. The so called "assembly line " for pub subs is not effective. It took us 25mins to get two subs that were sloppy all around, uneven meat distribution,etc. the lady even dropped the sauce bottle on my sandwich and didn't even apologize (lol) even the packaging at the end was sloppy and my sandwich was falling out of the warp when we got home .Truly disappointing despite being so new. read more

Bakery Review. Unfortunately when someone doesn't care about their job, the customers will get the short end of the stick. I called yesterday and spoke with a lady named Chanta, in the bakery. I had a cake made at a different Publix and wanted to see if my local publix can do the same. This lady stated her honesty of not knowing, but proceeded to take my order. She gave me a pick up time and also stated someone will call me the next day to verify. It is now "the next day" oddly no calls, so I reached out and spoke with someone else. They said my order was never placed. Insinuating that I called the wrong publix, I told her I went into my recent contact. This absolutely the correct location, no cake order was placed. This store is a very old and outdated Publix, as well as much smaller than every other store I've been to. It caters mostly to the senior community across the street. I've only been here a couple of times in the past few years, It used to be the closest store to me when I first moved to Florida. Now I only stop by when I need something and I'm driving past it. Associates are nice for the most part. Older, but edficient. Store looks clean, but it is old, so it feels a bit musty. Not a bad place when on a pinch. But note that they don't carry a lot of stuff because of their smaller size. read more

The manager of this location is so awesome. I could not get his name correct when I called the store Christmas Eve after closing. My cart had two of the same item with no price label so i went to retrieve another one with the price attached. However the cashier only gave me one item instead of my two. I did not notice this until after the store had been closed for about 5 minutes. I called and spoke with the manager who kindly assisted me after I stated my Christmas dinner would be short. Short version- he allowed me to come get the missing item and serviced me from my car. I kindly paid and was so amazed he went above and beyond to exceed customer satisfaction. I popped into this Publix tonight because I needed dog food, and as usual the store was neat and clean but I was in a fog and I accidentally went into the 10 item lane with...drumroll...18 small items. The cashier "Nalmarie-was her name" said "Do you have more than 10? I said about that because I really didn't know but nobody was in the line, either in front or behind me. So I placed four items and she refused to roll the belt so I asked if it was broken. I had to toss my paper napkins and towels toward the front of the belt. She stared at me and then just ran the belt so I continued loading. She then told me again that I had more than 10 items (note, still nobody behind me). She then looked at me and said next time I have to go in another aisle. I did not reply but I paid and then she started ringing the person behind me. I was standing there and asked if I could have help putting my few bags into my cart because Publix carry out is NORMALLY their pleasure. She said you need help? And then rather than lifting my four bags and Gatorade into my cart, she sought out another employee. This employee was impolite, and not a go getter. I came home and told my daughter and she said that's what you get for going to Walmart. I corrected her and told her that even Walmart wouldn't have treated me that way and I had been at our neighborhood Publix. There are four Publix stores equidistant from my house and I will not be using this one anymore. I did go tell the staff at the desk and they were very concerned. I don't think that this is a reflection on Publix unless this lady continues to be employed there. Perhaps customer service is not her thing. read more

Had a fantastic experience in the meat department today. The manager herself, Lucas Goldsmith, helped me out. This was the second Publix I'd been to today searching for burgers with bacon and fried onions in them. The first Publix (4849 Coconut Creek Pkwy) told me that they didn't make that kind as they didn't sell well and had made all the burgers they were going to make for the day. Translation: I couldn't get what I wanted. At this store, Lucas and her crew weren't making burgers and didn't have any made. But the sign in Publix indicates "full service...". She and her team mean it. She asked us to give her 10 minutes or so and she'd make them. Next thing I i know she's running around the store gathering the ingredients (pre-cooked bacon and fried onions). She got a big pile of fresh ground beef, assembled everything and the next thing I knew, 4 hefty burgers were produced. Service is why I like to go to Publix. Prices are higher, but when you get what you ask for, it's hard to want to go elsewhere. read more

Purchased 2 items the other day amongst other items which I paid $76 for in total. One item expired last FEBRUARY 28 and the other one, a refrigerated item expired on JUNE 26. ??!!!??? Not happy that I have to expose myself out in public during a pandemic just to return these items but Publix merchandise are not cheap as we all know and I wasn't going to waste my hard earned money on expired food that could make my family sick. The customer service staff ERIN showed no empathy or care whatsoever which is sad. NO apology, not even a one word sorry. After I explained how frustrating this is, she only said "It's not like we do it on purpose". Didn't expect this kind of apathy from a PUBLIX employee. This made me regret spending my money at Publix. This is also the 3rd time I've unknowingly purchased an expired item from this store. It's just not something you expect from a Publix. For the prices they charge, there should be red carpet all over the aisles! Never again unless I am desperate and this is the only store open on the planet. Now I'm doing myself a favor and shopping at a nearby Walmart Neighborhood Store where they only sell grocery items. Comparing prices between the two, I see that Publix charges AT LEAST a dollar more than Walmart on MOST items such as a Duncan Hines cake mix, butter etc. At least if I get bad customer service at Walmart, I can still smile knowing I saved precious dollars! read more

I had the worst shopping experience ever on April 8th 2020. I waited at the deli for 20 minutes. Finally an associate acknowledged my presence so I approach to tell her my order she responded by saying six feet, six feet with hand movements in motion like you do when telling an animal shoo- shoo. Folks that's plain rude. Shows individuals pure ignorance. I told managers they didn't seem to care other than apologizing just going thru the motions. Publix 's logo that shopping is a pleasure they should sue for false advertisement! Because in this case shopping was a fkn nightmare! Corporate needs to take a close look at this store. This location is always very clean the staff always seems more than helpful. The only issue is that the service can often be very slow. This is mostly due to the fact that the surrounding community is elderly and just don't have the need to move at the pace that younger folk are accustomed to. All in all you can expect nothing less than a great shopping experience here. read more

This is the most horrific Publix in South Florida. The average age is dead and angry and the cashiers are always aggravated. It's older, has no sushi, and it shouldn't take 20 minutes to get a lotto ticket. At least the sammiches turn out well. read more

TERRIBLE deli experience!!!! Went to get a sub from the deli and it took TWENTY MINUTES to get out of there. There were only 2 people in line in front of us and 2 associates making the sandwiches. The associates were INCREDIBLY slow. not to mention the associates were scrambling all over the place in regards to an online order. the lady making my sub started to take someone else's order in the middle of mine. and when i asked her to dice the tomatoes, she made TWO cuts and put them in the sub. she had an awful attitude and didn't seem to care about all the customers in line. you'd think with a long line of customers, the employees would work faster, but instead the way they were moving reminded me of the dmv sloth scene from zootopia. read more

I don't know what it is about this publix but every time I am in here there is a customer holding up the line majorly complaining about the store. For some reason this store is older looking than the other Publix stores in the area and I think it just needs a little makeover. I have been shopping at Publix in Florida for over 30 years and this is the only store that my wife and I repeatedly are discriminated against. We are white Americans (born and raised here) and the tellers at this store are usually black females, and they make it obvious that they hate white Americans (male and female). Whether we are at the Deli, or Sub-Shop, or checking out up front, we have repeatedly been overlooked, passed over to help a darker skinned customer who came after us, been disrespected, even told to go to the end of the line, or to even go to another line or customer service because they don't want to help us. I'll update this post with specific names later, we no longer shop at this Publix due to their rude and discriminatory actions. One of the ladies in involved is from Jamaica and wears cheap plastic beads in her hair. True Jamaicans would be appalled at her behavior. read more

I'm really disappointed to even have to write this review. This isn't a rating I would give Publix overall, as a company. Publix is my go to supermarket. No matter where I am in Florida, you can bet any time I need any groceries I am looking up my closest Publix. So when visiting my parents in south Florida, I headed over to this one to pick up some groceries and to pick up a hot meal. Overall, the store seemed a little disorganized but it wasn't something that would've immediately turned me away from this store. After searching for all of the items on our list, we headed over to hot foods. It was a mess. There was no defined lines between the subs area and the chicken (and other hot foods). There were people standing in clusters, and I had to ask multiple customers if they were waiting so I could figure out where to stand. Apparently many of them were waiting for fried chicken or chicken wings to be made. So I stood to the side, since I was going to order 2 chicken tenders from the hot tray. The tray was about half full when I stood in line. After about 10 minutes of waiting, the deli staff finally asked what I needed. I told her all I needed was 2 tenders. She stepped away to grab a container, and the woman from the subs area came over and started grabbing all of the tenders into a container. She turned to one of the customers in the sub line and asked her if she was getting a whole sub. The customer said yes, and the sub staff turned to the woman taking my order and said that she needed all the tenders (as in the whole half of a tray....). The woman who took my order looked up at me and said "you're going to have to wait until we make more." Apparently the lady in the sub line also ordered a pound of tenders even though she was in the sub line AND that lady got into the sub line way after I had gotten into the hot foods line, so I had been waiting longer. I didn't see the point of trying to argue all of this so I just left. I was very frustrated, and starving since I hadn't had food today and just wanted some tenders to hold me over. I don't understand why I couldn't have two pieces of chicken out of a tray when I was waiting longer than another customer was. It was honestly enough to ruin the trip for me. Will not be using this location again, thankfully Publix has many locations in south Florida. read more

I have just move to this area from pompano Beach, I was driving home from work and decide to stop at this Publix to get two subs for dinner for my wife and I. We used to go to the Publix in pompano on sample and federal and we're always taken care of quickly and courteously. Tonight however was to be very different, I walked in at 6:30pm on Thursday night, at the deli there was a short line of about 4 or 5 people so I got on line figuring with 4 people behind the counter it shouldn't take too long...oh how wrong I was. Associate#1 was only concerned with slicing deli meats for people who wanted it by the pound but seemed unable to slice for the people wanting subs. Ok, no problem, there is still 3 other people behind the counter. WRONG!! Associate#2 was only assisting people wanting rotisserie chicken and by "assisting" I mean standing there telling people the next batch of chickens wouldn't be ready for another 20 minutes...that's it. That was her whole job, just to stand there. Ok that leaves 2 associates making subs and 6 people on line (including me). Unfortunately I was only half right, associate#3 was making subs alright, but not for the people waiting on line. She was too busy making orders placed online due to the fact that they now have a policy that if your online order is not ready on time then it's free. That just leaves associate#4 to make everyone's subs by herself, after 45 minutes waiting on line and having only moved up one spot I walked away. I grabbed a loaf of Cuban bread, several pre-packaged deli meats an cheeses an walked my happy ass up to the registers, I was determined to have subs damn it even if some assembly was required. At the register the girl asked if I found everything I needed....FOUND, yes. Was able to BUY, no. I explained the story of what is now being referred to as The Great Sub Oddessy and that's when the little righteous looking surfer dude bagging my stuff chimes in with his infinite wisdom. Disclaimer, the following is best read in a surfer dude valley voice. Dude says to me: "you could always go to Subway for subs. Besides, making them yourself is better anyway." At this point my aggravation was boiling over and it took everything I had not to punch the store, that's right not just surfer dude or the deli people, I wanted to physically punch the building! Thankfully I choose instead to just go home and start assembling sandwiches. Now if I can only find the instructions. read more

I have lived in the nearby Community for more than 12 years and have always been satisfied with the service and attention that the Publix at West Atlantic and North Rock Island I have experienced. Insofar as any criticism that this particular Publix might receive, one would have to consider that it is, after all, within a 55+ community. It was much more senior citizen friendly before being invaded by overly demanding and often very discourteous younger shoppers. read more

Coming from NY where they will throw you and your groceries out the door asap, Publix is outstanding in store presentation and cleanliness. Store managers, clerks go out of their way to help you. Are people upset about their subs? Geez, it's a sub not a hedge fund. Try not to go when the lines are crazy and be happy that you are not ingesting that crap from Subway. If you go when they are busy, they really DON'T know how many people are dying of hunger for a dozen wings. And not for nothing, their return policy is very lax...they never question you and they refund cheerfully. As for those of you who don't like shopping with the elderly, try going to Publix in Parkland, the people are younger, but have the patience of a 6 month old. I come to this publix often to purchase groceries. However, I very rarely come to this one for deli/sub purchase because the staff is somewhat rude. I just had a newborn and I have a very tight schedule because of this. I decided the other night to place an online order so we wouldn't have to wait in line. I picked the 8:35pm pick up time as it was the earliest available when I was placing order at 8:05pm. My son was due for his next feeding 9pm so this is what worked best. I arrived at publix at 8:24 and decided to walk around for a bit before heading over to deli. At 8:36pm I went over and my sub was not there. I figured ok maybe they are making it and it will be out shortly. Needless to say, it was not and it wasn't made until 8:45pm. The associate was very slow in making it taking his time as he looked for each ingredient. Mind you there were also several people waiting in line now. Now when I ordered my sub I put on there what I wanted. However, whenever they received the order it also listed other ingredients (bacon and gourmaise sauce and yellow American cheese) which I did not order. I also did not notice this until the asp socials handed me the sub. The sales associate looked confused as he was making it because I had asked for muenster and honey mustard and mayo only? but still proceeded to add on the extra ingredients. When he finally decided to acknowledge me standing there at 8:51pm he said you got the combo? I asked the EVERroast combo? He said well yes the combo... There could be several others who also ordered a combo and he was condescending when speaking to me. The whole experience of online ordering wAs awful. The point of having an online order and a specific pick up time is to have the order ready at the time chosen so you don't have to wait. I will not be ordering subs from here again. I never did in the past and will continue to go to the Publix on sample that is very out of my way but is my is more organized, clean, and staff is much friendlier. read more
