I have been shopping at this Publix at the Sunshine Plaza for over 20 years. The store is perfectly located on the corner of 441 and commercial blvd. The turnpike is less than a mile away making it the perfect location for locals and those on the road. I don't understand why the reviews are low because I have always had great customer service over the years. The store is always fully stocked, fresh produce, the bakery has a wide variety of items and the entire store is well maintained. I am use to seeing some of the cashiers over a period of time and it's nice when they remember you. Marvin went from being a bagger to a cashier and I was very happy to see that. Whenever I head to the sunshine plaza Publix, I have easily accessible parking, there's always shopping carts and wipes when you walk in and they have an array of beautiful flowers at the entrance. The displays change from time to time which feels refreshing. I will continue to support this Publix and look forward to their continued service. read more

I usually stop by this Publix after leaving the gym in the same plaza, so it's a convenient spot for me. The store is typically clean, well-stocked, and the staff is friendly. However, this is now the third time in a row that I've come during the week around 3 p.m.,when it's not even busy, and there's no hot chicken available to go. Today there were actually two boxes of 20-piece wings, but they looked sparse and unappealing. I wasn't there for wings anyway. I wanted an 8-piece chicken, and there were none. When I asked how long it would take, I was told an hour. For a store this consistent in other areas, the deli really needs to do better with keeping hot food ready during regular afternoon hours. read more

This is a nice, clean large Publix with a welcoming customer service staff up front and nice wide aisles throughout. I went to get some Campbell's soup cans for a recipe and they had a large selection of them. Unfortunately when I went there were not on sale, but I did get some of their Buy One Get One items...which I think is the best thing to get at Publix stores. Great shopping experience. read more

Publix is an amazing place to go shopping and Florida is lucky to have them here. Easy access off and on Commercial and there is plenty of parking in the lot. This store has big entrance and currently there are people in the entrance taking and sanitizing the carts. There is a definite push here on selling safety and they are doing a great job. They have clearly marked spaces for social distancing, as well as signs throughout the store, and sanitizers as you come in and out. I am very impressed. The store is very big and bright and the isles are very spacious. They are also clearly marked for the one-way direction. There are big signs above the entrance to the isles clearly telling you what's in the isle. Honestly, it was easier to navigate here then some markets i regularly shop at. The team here is very friendly and helpful. Everyone who has ever assisted me did it with a smile. Team members have also offered to go to the isle and get the product I was asking about. The customer service here is amazing! The deli counter is huge and the people here are terrific. The counter is big, and they also have a sandwich and hot food area. Dairy and meat, and fish counters are big and easy to navigate. I like the idea that they have a very comprehensive supply of wine and beer. We don't have the wine store in our supermarkets in New York, it's a nice touch. Check out is always a snap and I love how they always have a bagger to help. The really nice touch is how they ALWAYS ask me if I would like someone to bring my groceries to the car. (I guess being a senior citizen has its advantages. This store used to be great as far as service and employees. But for some reason there has been a major turnover of staff and the replacements are horrendous. Poor customer service disrespectful and let you know when you are bothering them. The deli department is the worst offender, these people simply want to chit chat all day. Bought a buffalo sub and was told they don't mix it in a bag anymore and when I questioned them on it, they told me it's been a year since they stopped. This is a lie because I picked one up a week ago and this is the only sub I buy from Publix so I have bought plenty throughout the year. Publix get your act together. I am also tired of being hounded for money and the smell of Pot in the parking lot this area is really going downhill fast. read more

I walked into Publix, went straight to the pharmacy and asked if they had masks and Covid tests for sale. The Pharmacist completely ignored me and told me since masks are no longer mandatory they do not sell them any more. After walking around all of Publix knowing that I had Covid I someone finally got the manager to come help me. David the manager directed me to the isle where I can find the masks to purchase. It's so sad how they knew I had Covid yet let me shop all over their store (which was PACKED btw) and did nothing about it until I was ready to pay. All they wanted was my money and I believe that they do not care about their staff nor their guests at all. read more

On 11/27/2024 I went to Publix Store #0787 located at 4121 W. Commercial Blvd in Tamarac, Florida. I went to purchase some chicken wings listed price $10.99. When I went to the register to purchase, the receipt stated $20.99. I went back to the area where I went to purchase the wings, and it had a listed price of $10.99, but a different brand. I asked to speak with the dept. manager but was told he was on 30 minute lunchbreak. I had also purchased ice cream, so I didn't want to wait that long, so I decided to leave the store. I ran into a store manager named Jackson. I asked him if he could resolve the price discrepancy, he advised me to wait in the long line at the customer service desk. I told him I had purchased ice cream and if he could resolve it for me. He was very belligerent and just walked away before yelling at me. I found another store manager named Jordan who resolved the issue in less than 2 minutes. I am thanking Jordan and told him I would like to make a formal complaint with the big boss of the store, Paul. Jordan told me because of the holiday he wouldn't be in until that Friday. We're standing 15 feet from the entrance where Jackson reappeared. Jackson then aggressively approaches me yelling if I wanted his last name too. I don't know how he heard what me and Jordan what was talking about being so far away, but he must have felt guilty about him being unprofessional. He continues his aggressive approach until he was physically restrained by a female associate. Now there was an armed security officer there for the holidays who clearly witnessed this, but did nothing. Jordan even tried to verbally calm him down. I feared for my life. I spoke via phone to Paul the head store manager, and to John, district manager (who obtained my callback info via corporate who I called. Neither one seemed interested in resolving this issue. I even called the police the night of to report the incident, but the officer said he went there and spoke to witnesses who clearly had to be store associates because by the time the went to the store, the store was already closed. I am fearful from going back to that store. A store I've been going to for over 20 years. I don't have transportation, so it is the only convenient in my area. I was promised by the district manager he would call me back no later than 12/5/24 and Still no returned call. I plan on pursuing this issue to the fullest extent available to me. read more

So I've come to this location plenty of times but never have I actually shopped here. Yesterday since I was in the area and needed a few things, I decided to stop in. From the parking lot to the just past the entrance of the store, I passed several employees (managers included) and no one greeted me (the reason for the 4 stars). The store itself was very clean and the produce looked really good. I wanted to get some chicken because if the sale but it looked old. The meat it itself looked dried and old (the reason for the 3 stars). My cashier was a nice lady. She spoke to me once I got to her. I'm more than positive that I'll be back since this location is close to my new volunteer organization and it's close to the north location of my job. Hopefully the next time I come in, everyone has had their coffee and is a little more into greeting people. read more

I've lived in the nearby area for while but I've only discovered this Publix location just the other day. So glad that I did. It's your standard, conventional, large footprint, suburban Publix store. Everything that you'd expect. And because it's a physically large store, there's lot of options available in the standard grocery categories. This location also features a pharmacy, wine department, sushi case and an in-store bakery. Very friendly staff. Store is clean and inviting. Now that I know that this Publix is squarely in my general-ish vicinity, I'll be stopping-in often. read more

Have you ever tried a cake at Publix? Omg, amazing! I did not have time to order one ahead of time but stopped in today to get a cake for the office. While there weren't a ton of flavors to choose from, beggars can't be choosers, right? I selected a caramel vanilla cake. The vanilla cake was moist with layers of caramel and then frosted with a maple sweet cream and topped with pecans and dark chocolate pieces. The frosting was a tad too sweet for me, but it was an office hit! I was told the lemon with strawberries cake is amazing. Will order that one next time! The bakery attendant was so super nice! Greeted me right away and described every cake they had. He even threw in a cake server with the cake! Great store! Great staff. The cashiers and baggers were the only ones that did not greet me with a smile. It was busy, but Publix is known for their excellent customer service. read more

Everyone in this store from the time you walk In to checkout is extremely friendly. The employees go out of there way to help You. if you can't find something they will check stock and go in the back storage to see if they can locate it, if it's not in store they tell you when they could get it next. Every single manager is constantly walking around and always saying hello to People . I've lived here since the 90's and have 4 Publix's within 2 miles of me and this is by far the best one. I frequent Publix daily and have never been so disgusted and outraged! While paying for our items our cashier calls a manager or supervisor over and was whispering something to her about the quantity of pasta I was purchasing. Apparently, there is a limit to the amount of pasta you can purchase at this Publix. There was a quantity limit for the buy one get one deal for pasta, but instead of explaining that to me the supervisor/manager proceeds to take the additional 6 boxes of pasta away... The cashier then tells me that there is a limit to the amount of pasta I can buy... REALLY!? I understand if there is a limit to the amount of "deals", but I still needed the pasta and explained that I would pay full price for it. The manager/supervisor then tells me "well you can't buy anymore pasta!" WOW! The people behind me in line were appalled at the audacity of the supervisor/manager to tell a paying customer that I cannot buy anymore pasta. Needless to say, I will NEVER be back to this Publix and will be requesting an explanation from Publix headquarters as to this policy and better training of their staff. This is unacceptable. I really like coming to this Publix. There are several Publix near my apartment, but I choose to go to this one because it is newer, has an easy to navigate floor plan, and the employees are all very nice. The produce department has a very large selection, and so do the deli and the meat departments. Anytime I want a smaller amount of something, the employees have always been quick and happy to aid me. Another perk to this Publix is that the lines never seem to be that long. Most often I only have to wait behind one person, two people tops. read more

PLASTIC IN THE MARKET GROUND BEEF!!! I do not engage in rants but I cannot let this rest. I purchased a package of Market Ground Beef tonight to feed my family. It wasn't until I got home and started to prep the meal when I took a closer look at the meat. I realized there were red flakes present. I started breaking apart the meat in my gloves and realized the red flakes were in fact pieces of red plastic. I immediately called the location to alert them of the discovery and to prevent any other household from purchasing the contaminated meat. I was on hold for a manager for a while before finally speaking to a "shift lead". After explaining the ordeal he told me to hold so that I could speak with the meat department. I patiently waited for someone to answer and proceeded to explain my findings to the man on the other end of the line. He stated he would look into the matter however I did not feel as if I was taken seriously. I arrived at the location minutes before closing and waited for customer service. The cashier who assisted me said she would need to get the manager. I patiently waited again. I assume the gentleman who slugged his way to the cash wrap wearing a checkered button down was the manager, however, there was no interaction with me. He took the damaged good and walked away.... I understand we are in the midst of a pandemic. I understand people are tired and overworked. I understand this is an overwhelming time. I recognize all of those things while saying this.... It is not okay to sell someone packaged meat that contains a foreign substance and not acknowledge their issue or troubles, let alone their existence when they come back into your store. I was shocked by the lack of customer service over the phone but disappointed by the lack of concern in person. read more

I am a disabled person. the store did not have a sign of entry for the customer service area. The customer clerk was rude, and she said I was entering the line the wrong, I said the other Publix stores in Sunrise, Fort Lauderdale, Davie have entry signs in the lines of service. I will report Publix to the ADA of Broward County. I have been shopping since I was six years old with my grandmother, I am 64 years old, I am so disappointed when the service from these rude staff the represents Publix. The Publix stores must also stop the people form asking for money in from of your also, the is bad for business, Broward Sherrif officer only ride thru the parking and the don 't do anything about the panhandlings at your stores. This Publix really leaves me feeling conflicted sometimes. The customer service is a crapshoot - I go some days and the cashier and bagger won't speak a word, even when I say hello, but the produce department has very nice people. I have no experience with the deli or bakery people. The customer service desk is horrible - one day i was in line and the cashier told another Publix employee (who must have been off shift or on break) to get in front of me. While I totally understand the time crunch while on break (I used to be a grocery store cashier), neither of them asked me if I was ok with that - it's like I wasn't even there when i was actually standing at the counter looking at her. The food is diverse and I'm glad for that, but the horrible customer service on the front end overshadows that. read more

What's the.chances of three times a Dutch Apple Pie is not what it seems. About a week ago I bought a Dutch apple pie not thinking I had to check the filling before leaving the store. After getting home I was surprised to see mixed berry filling in a pie labeled Dutch apple. I brought it back to exchange it. I brought another pie to the front office and just to check I picked up a spoon from the deli. Again the pie contained mixed berry filling. Tonight I picked up another Dutch apple pie thinking I shouldn't have that problem again. This time I was surprised to find peaches. Peaches in a labeled Dutch apple pie. Unbelievable. Fair warning. We asked an employee where the bread was located and she responded "aisle 14 where it supposed to be!" They need to teach some of their employees how to kind to others. This is the best Publix I have ever visited. The customer service -- by every single employee is outstanding. I mean, really, it's like visiting Lala land! Super friendly, helpful, and diligent every time I come here. The employees really go out of their way to serve customers -- And everyone is smiling all the time! I'm here in Fort Lauderdale on business, and have been stopping by here to pick up lunch from the deli. I leave here in such a good mood every day. It really is a pleasure to shop here. Nearby Publix store, always clean and friendly staff. I always like their deli meat, always offer sample of meats being bought. Some groceries slightly over priced but, some items are buy one get one free so evens out. Their fried chicken always smells delicious, yet to try but will definitely return to get some. read more

Let me start with the positives. The store was clean, and the cashiers and bakery staff were both helpful and friendly. Now tot he real problem. I ordered a spider-man themed cake for my sons birthday and the only thing spider-man about it was the plastic toy in the middle. There was literally no other design to support the theme. The handwriting looked like the employee was in a hurry and delegated the job to a child. When attempting to have his birthday balloons inflated, I asked a manger (only employee I could find) for help. She grabs a woman who seems genuinely disinterested and just mumbles to herself until another employee shows up. This employee takes over and literally mumbles "this isn't my job". She then proceeds to painstakingly under-fill our sons balloons while stopping to have a conversation with someone else. $30+ dollars for a poorly designed cake and 20+ for a under filled balloons made this trip extremely disappointing. read more

I had a craving for a yummy hand made ham and swiss with cucumbers banana peppers lettuce tomato oil vinegar and mayo....yummy I also bought a side of potato salad and classic cole slaw. I hate to say it, but Publix is the last place I want to go when looking for groceries. Sadly, it is one of the few options open to us here. While the store is always clean and well laid out, that's about the best I can say. If you're looking for ethnic ingredients that you've seen in other chain grocery stores, you aren't likely to find them here. My pet peeve is that many things in the produce section are prepackaged in certain numbers. Maybe I don't want 3 zucchini. Maybe the one in the middle looks like the harvested it a month before the others. And really, what am I going to do with a chunk of fresh ginger the size of a melon when my recipe calls for a tablespoon? While they will separate a package for you, that means you have to track someone down, and that isn't easy. We've also had a frequent problem with veggies (especially onions) that look great on the outside and are rotten at the core, to borrow a phrase. Yet there is nothing substandard about the prices, they are well into the "above average" range. I wish we had more choices for food shopping. read more
