This publix is in a great location right on Bayshore. Parking can be a little tricky sometimes because it can be quite packed but I will usually time my visit to the weeknights on my way home from work so that it isn't usually too much of a problem. Great selection of products available from organic produce to 5$ sushi Wednesday's and a solid wine collection. The bakery and deli are always wonderful. Customer service at publix is always excellent. And I do try to take advantage of their Bogo sales that can be quite a good deal. My one issue is that they have steps to exit and enter the store and only one long ramp on one side of the exit - this can be a little annoying if you are wanting to take a grocery cart full of bags to your car. read more

Kind of tight in terms of parking and space within the store, but still the same great service that all Publixes have. It's conveniently located at the corner of Platt and Bayshore. You can get super busy during rush hour so you might want to time your visits when it comes to this Publix. This store may not have quite everything in the world, but they carry all of the essentials. I even saw a few things that I haven't seen before, like Amish butter... comes in a roll, by the way. The deli is obviously awesome, since its Publix. Good food, great service. I've been here a few times, and the staff had been helpful at locating items. The produce had a good selection, always pot together. The pick your own six pack beer collection is the Ok, and a great option to find different beers. This is the most poorly run Publix I've ever been to. I've been to at least a 100 of them in my life. Very unorganized from the deli to the customer service. The managers here blow you off when you ask them something. Anytime I asked an employee where something was, they told me where they "thought it would be" but didn't lead me to it at all. I witnessed an instant cart manager chew out another employee in front of other customers and the assistant manager David witnessed it but did nothing about it. I will never step foot back in this Publix again. South dale Mabry and Hyde park Publix are amazing so corporate might need to move some people around here at this one. read more

RUDELY HAS LEAF BLOWER GOING AT 1030 NIGHTLY making it soooo loud for nearby residents! Even though they blow again first thing in the am! Have called in noise complaints and tried reporting to publix but no response. Front of store laid out poorly with low visibility. Almost get plowed down by cart when I'm walking in all the time. Tonight I watched the bakery girl touch all of the fresh bagels with her bare hands (no gloves) as she re arranged them. I'm already not a fan of this publix but it is the closest to my house. The deli guy always roles his eyes at us and never smiles or looks remotely happy to help anyone. I was pleasantly surprised by the guy in the meat section the other day stepping in to help as the seafood section was short staffed and he was happy to help and genuine about it unlike most of the other employees at this location. They can definitely benefit from a hospitality training store wide. read more

First timer at Publix. This is the downtown location. Cute, on the smaller side, lots of fresh food/deli food/bakery items. Some items I had to find in odd places...the razors I needed were in the checkout areas instead of toiletries area...and sodas were located by eggs and cheese aisle. This location is literally across the street from my house. I visit frequently but have to supplement my shopping at larger stores because they really don't have enough space at this store for a full selection as they do at other stores. I do like that you can call in your deli orders and pick them up in store. This location actually only serves Boars head meets so if you want a less costly deli meat option you will need to visit a larger store. read more

I don't get what all the rave is about this place.. WAY OVER RATED.. This place is congested, never any parking and the aisles are so small. Yes, there meat and produce are fresh, but so are other grocers. I personally would rather go to Sam's Club or winndixie and not have to deal with the snooty south tampa housewives crowd. I will have to give it to the bakery though. I Always Order MY Cakes FROM here and they've never done me wrong. Haha shopping is not a pleasure here though. Stopped by on a late afternoon for a deli snack. As others mention, compared to many Publix stores (and certainly the 2 I frequent the most), this a smaller, more convenient size to navigate and get in/out quickly. I certainly wish my neighborhood stores were smaller. Good service, too, as I asked one of the cashiers a question, and they walked me directly to what I was looking for. And while most every Publix I've been in often has some kind of samples, this location upped the trend a strong notch with abundant samples of sushi (which was pretty good, actually) and wine. Nice umbrella tables out front, which provided a good place to eat, even on a brisk but sunny winter afternoon. And as usual, this Publix deli puts out a good sandwich. Worst Publix grocery store that I have ever had the displeasure of entering. I moved very nearby about 3 months ago and it takes me about 5 minutes to get here but I drive 15+ just to get to a decent grocery store. This store is a maze with the shelves positioned both vertically and horizontally. They have a very limited selection of "specialty" items that were readily available on the shelves of the Publix stores in my hometown. They are consistently out of a lot of items. And the staff? The worst. My air-headed cashier (a woman in probably in her mid 50s) didn't say hello, didn't say how are you or did you find everything all right, no. Then she forgets my case of water that SHE told me to leave in the cart, so it's not like she didn't know it was there. The bag boy had to remind her mid-conversation with a manager looking guy who had walked over to the register. So she re-rings me and hands me my receipt without even looking at me or saying anything to me, just carrying on her flirty conversation with her manager 15 years her junior. I don't think I'm wrong to expect to be treated like a human being or respected as a PAYING CUSTOMER. On my way out I passed several miserable looking employees meandering around looking like they had no idea what they were doing. I stopped here today despite my previous negative experiences and I won't ever do it again. I would rather stop and buy a case of water at a gas station than deal with this place. read more

The Earl of Sandwich would give this place 5 Stars! I always have the Chicken Tenders sub, and it's quite delish. The tenders themselves are cooked and breaded perfectly, and the veggies are all fresh from their produce section. It's easy in and out of the store, but even if busy...it's still totally worth the wait. I just want to crawl into this sub like a frozen Luke Skywalker crawled into the intestines of the Ton Ton on Hoth. This Publix location offers fast service at a convenient location. On my visit, I had to hunt around the store for water and basic travel supplies in order to avoid insane room charges at my hotel. This is my favorite publix of them all they really take care of their customers and they are always asking if you need help. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. The ladies at the sandwich shop made sure I got my crabby soup even when the container was super empty :( they said give us 5 minutes and we will get you that soup! They said sorry for making you wait even though I didn't mind and charted with me even though they were slammed at lunch hour. I go here all the time as it is close to work and everyone seems to be in great spirits. Publix has it going on and they have great sales too bogo! I love bogo! Also the deli is always feeding people the Boars head lunch meat lol! If you have to wait for food to be prepared they are trying to feed you large samples of delicious lunch meat! This is a smaller Publix, so I often have to go elsewhere if I want an unusual ingredient. Also, it can be a pain getting here since you cannot turn into the parking lot if you're on Bayshore heading north. But it's great if you're in the Davis Park/downtown area. read more

This is my local store, though I'm not completely enamored with it. Love: convenience. It's the closest grocery store to me. Its convenient to Hyde Park, downtown, Bayshore Blvd, Davis Islands, Harbor Island. Its the only store I can find that carries my favorite (non-alcoholic) beverage- Canada Dry flavored seltzer water. Not so good: it's small, tight aisles and doesn't always have what I'm looking for. The parking lot is small and a cluster. Add to that the one way streets surrounding it and it's always a round about way for me to get home. Also if possible, avoid after 11am weekdays and weekend afternoons (& on weekday afternoons try to just stay away from that first aisle. The deli is overflowing & tight area as it is). Very crowded and not many check out lanes. read more

So I am an employee who happened to get blessed to have a Publix on the site where I work, I can online order lunch walk 5 minutes to pick it up. But there is one problem on several occasions i.ve pre ordered my pub-sub combo meal AT LEAST 45min to an hour ahead of time(mind you I get 1 hour for lunch) I get there to grab my food...NOT READY ! So when I ask about my order they proceed to tell me the meat I ordered in my sub is out of stock... now the app asks for your phone # ...no one called to ask if I wanted to substitute my jerk turkey for something else. So now I have wasted at least 30 minutes of my lunch because now they are busy making sandwiches for the walk ins.... finally get my comb ,pay for it and the girl at the register over charges me for the combo....sigh.... now again I got to wait in the customer service line to be refunded the overage. Now with the walk back to my office and all the inconvenience my lunch break is over and I got not one I apologize from anyone. Don't get me wrong I LOVE PUBLIX and I rave about the awesome customer service all the time to everyone.... The biggest problem with this Publix is that it is very small. I live downtown so I don't have much choice and I deal with it. But the customer service is very good and it's clean. The prices are maybe a little higher since it's in the nicer area of town and the they don't have as many deals. I do like that they normally don't give you a hard time when giving them coupons. I asked for Star Wars themed colors, I had little light sabers to decorate them with, and they gave half of the cupcakes with only a solid red thin icing layer and the other half solid blue. That's it!! Looked as if they took a flat spatula and smeared icing on top and was all smudged as well. No art whatsoever. I was sad to say they were from Publix bakery on Bayshore Blvd. Even the second graders in his class asked if I made them at home and were shocked these were from a bakery. I could have made these better myself at home for less than $3. Was in a super rush on my lunchbreak to pick up & deliver to his school so no time to have them fix what should've never happened in a professional bakery in the first place. We love this grocery store. Staff are very friendly and location is great for us. Would highly recommend the deli and sushi for lunchtime crowd. Short walk from downtown hotels, convention center or Harbour Island. Parking can be an issue during rush hours but can usually find a spot after just a few minutes. This is only Publix that I have been to where I had a security officer follow me every where I go! I am Indian decent and I must be special to receive such wonderful treatment! I mean this officer pretended to be look at magazines without even touching them (bad actor)! This has happened to my sister and my cousin as well. I would expect better from a company who prides itself in being polite to every customer that passes through their doors. Unfortunately this is the one Publix that doesn't get the 4 star. I have been going to this Publix for a year, but have recently switched to Winn Dixie on Swann. I have always been frustrated with the lack of parking, but tolerated it because I have been a patron to Publix for years. Over the past few months I have had to make additional trips to Winn Dixie because the store was out of the items on my list. The produce department has been the biggest offender with many times being out of the needed produce or only having the organic option. I recognize this store has a small square footage due to location, but store layout and availability should be high priorities. This store could benefit from high levels of incorporated customer feedback to ensure more customers don't abandon a store that as a brand is known for consistent service, quality products and availability. read more

I used to go there at least 2 times a week. In my opinion you can get here the best value for what you buy. The good thing about publix supermarket is that it is everywhere in Tampa. A hidden gem for the area. People visiting the area was a one stop shop from soups, salads, and subs. To needed items they forgot before arriving in Tampa.
