Heard a few good things about this place, but it was just meh. Eggs and grits had no seasoning....salt or pepper. Bacon was even not flavorful if that makes any sense, but the amount of bacon and eggs was ridiculous. Probably a half lb of bacon, and 4 whole eggs scrambled. Everything bagel was good. I went here on a whim for breakfast this morning. Being that I live a block away, I was totally surprised at the quality of the food. Pancakes, really good omelets, and the pastries looked good. Best breakfast that I'm aware of anywhere around River Ridge (don't say caffe latte da please). So the bad? I don't drink much coffee--I had a Red Bull, so I can't debate the quality. I stop at this shop every morning on my way to work. The staff is always on point and the coffee is better on a bad day than Starbucks on a great day. Tessa and Adam give great customer service. They're knowledgeable and are willing to go the extra mile for pain in the butt customers like me. They even do it with a smile. Terry makes great breakfast biscuits that are addictive. Check your order before you leave. My order was messed up the first time I went, but they were VERY busy. Last time, they left off the aioli, sandwich was dry, but whatever. Today, they were NOT busy, I was the only one in line and my sandwich came out with no aioli, no cheese, no bacon. I think they made a judgement call and decided I didn't need the fat. This is a very good coffee shop, I did agree with some other reviews, the coffee is a little weak. When they first opened they had someone to clean the tables but for the oats month or two I haven't seen anyone bus the tables, but they do have a window cleaner who does a great job. Please get another bus person, it is very annoying when I have to pick up someone else's mess, OR... I have a great idea, pick up your own mess people! The evening people that are good always leave for something better which leaves you at the mercy of workers who don't want to be there. 20 min before closing time I ordered 2 decaf au laits. First I was told they were out of decaf. I questioned how a coffee shop could be out of coffee and the young lady stated with attitude, "well I already cleaned the machines, so no decaf". I agreed to caffeinated coffee. She charged me for 2 au laits then handed me black coffee. I told her she could either add the milk or refund the difference between a black coffee and au lait. She poured out half the coffee in the cup, added ice cold milk and handed it to me. I refused to take the now cold coffee and told her to just give me black coffee and I'd deal with the refund the next day. She went on a tirade that the store closes at 7pm and I was being unreasonable expecting her to use the machine she already cleaned. Just after all of this happened, the owner came in. As usual, he could care less what his workers do, which is why this isn't the first time this has happened. In the past, I was told 40 minutes before closing that only cold coffee was available because all machines had been cleaned. Owner did nothing that time either. Went to Puccinos on Dickory for our usual favorites, Frozen Puccino and Iced Puccino. They location is one of the best for these two items. We traveled several miles to get there. We order our items at the drive-thru, pull around and there is a car waiting at the window. They held up the line for over 10 minutes for these people to get their food order. In the meantime, they had made our frozen and iced, and it was sitting there. I should have used my better judgement and got hubby to leave, but no, I didn't say anything. In the meantime, there are 2 or 3 other cars in line behind us, and these people waiting for their food. Since they made our drinks while they waited for the people's food, my frozen was all melted, and the iced was diluted. The idea of frozen is that it's not liquidity or warm, it's frozen. They should have asked these people to park and they would have brought it out to them. Location by location, Puccinos is losing our business. You have to treat ALL of your customers properly, not just the ones ordering food. Seeing all of the bad reviews I've read, Puccinos had best start doing A LOT better! read more

I am not sure what the fascination is with this local chain, but they appear to be popping up all over town. i cannot speak for all of them, but this one I can, and for multiple visits as well. I will say just this first, to give something positive, that the inside is well kept and the person working the register is nice enough. But that is where the good train stops. Let me tell you just of the last two times I have been there. One time I went with a group of 3 for breakfast. We all ordered up front , everyone's order came out after about 20 minutes except for mine. I didn't order anything special, just the breakfast wrap. When I told them I hadn't received my order it was obvious that they didn't make at all. They rushed to make and called me about 5 minutes later. I sat down to my group with my food , keep in mind they were now done eating now, I picked up the wrap and a pool of uncooked eggs poured out of the back end of the wrap. When I brought it back and showed it to the chef , i demanded my money back and left. I wanted to give them one last chance. Now this time, (not sure why I kept going back) , this time I said okay let me try and keep it as simple as possible for these people. I ordered 2 eggs over medium, bacon and grits. That is it. My food came out on time, but my eggs we SO uncooked that they were still clear. I just couldn't believe it. I brought it back to the window where the cook was (he looked like he was 12) and there was a guy there who had been walking around the restaurant like he was the manager or the owner.i assumed he was so I showed him first the eggs, he didn't tell me sorry, he didn't tell me, "We will make another", he didn't tell me he would give me my money back. NOTHING! All he did was look at the cook, who at this point I felt sorry for, and said "The Eggs! They are NOT cooked!" to this the young kid took my plate and apologized profusely. I asked for the eggs to come scrambled this time, because I could not risk my love for eggs being ruined by another uncooked embryo from this place. They came out bland and the grits were runny like water. This place is the worst, sorry kids. The Good: Nice atmosphere The Bad: sheesh where to a start. - Who I assume was the manager had a bad attitude and did not apologize for mistakes, the food takes a while to come out. The location itself is very nice. Compared to most of the other Puccino's locations it's big and spacious. Nice touch having the drive-thru also. I generally don't have a problem with any of the Puccino's that have sprouted up all over. The service, drinks and food are usually pretty consistent. This location however...ugh. The staff really needs some training or something. I stopped in for an iced latte last Saturday. The guy that assisted me was terrible. I placed my order for a latte and a large water. He gave me a small water. I set my exact change down on the counter and he left it there. He was too busy gossiping with the other guy behind the counter. I really could have kept my money and he wouldn't have had any idea. I'm not that type of person though. When he finally gave me my drink, I tasted it and noted that it did not have the Hazelnut syrup I asked for. I walked back to him (my money was still sitting on the counter and he had no clue) and told him that he didn't add Hazelnut. He tried to take my drink back with soaking wet hands. I asked if he could please dry his hands first. He added the Hazelnut and gave me the drink back. I told the other guy at the counter that I wanted a receipt and my money was on the counter. He just looked at me sheepishly and printed up a receipt. As a side note, the drink was lousy and I don't think I will be going back here too soon. What a complete joke. $4 for a coffee, $3 for a coke. We sit down and learn it's extra $$ for internet wifi access. Ha ha! Came in for lunch with my mom, we ordered with very nice woman at the counter. When the cook brought our food to the table all she did was complain about being the only one in kitchen & having to bring the food out. 1st time at a Pucchinos and won't be my last. I ordered the turkey ranch spinach wrap with side of Muffaletta pasta salad, husband ordered chicken salad on croissant with side garden salad. There's someone new almost every week and there's not one friendly person. Ive been back to give it another chance but the employees make you feel like you are not welcomed there. I have given this location MORE than enough chances to get their stuff together. Each time they have failed me. I started going to Puccinos in Harahan for breakfasts with friends and their kids, totally good and fine. Then the drive thru opened.. EVERY TIME I get my small $2.39 wet cappuccino they charged me over $4.00!?!? The revolving door of employees who weren't properly trained in what to do didn't know why they have indoor prices and outdoors prices. That blows my mind as well!! Why would you up charge your drive thru as a business. Just as I was starting to love two employees there a African American older gentleman and a Caucasian man.... However, I was pretty bummed to visit the website and read that brunch stops being served at 4pm and then i show up at 2:35 and the sign says 3pm and when I asked for the menu, the very polite girl (not being sarcastic), stated she was sorry but they just stopped serving food at 2:30. I seriously have a love/hate relationship with this place. Let's start with the love part. I love the food, environment, coffee and employees. Their food and coffee are phenomenal. Terry and Abby (the only people I have ever had cook for me, not sure if there are others) make phenomenal wraps, omelettes and salads!! Abby also is a barista (I think she might be new because I don't remember ever meeting her before Christmas of this year) and has one of the sweetest spirits I have ever encountered. She makes me feel like she has been my best friend since birth and I love that!! Holly and Adam were two other friendly baristas that I got to know and love but I don't see them as often. The food and coffee are a bit pricey but to me worth it because of the quality of what they make. The environment is laid back. They have instrumental music playing but it isn't too loud and actually helps me to tone people out in order to focus. Now on to that hate part. I hate the owner. I come here nearly everyday to study and/or work and have seen this man, that I learned was named Mike, come in and in a split second destroy the environment with his negativity and approach. I understand that as an owner you want things done a certain way and expect certain things but this man should be arrested or fined (literally) for the way that he verbally abuses his employees. He is down right hateful. It should be investigated. Also, the other barista that works mornings needs an attitude adjustment. She acts as though my ordering coffee is ruining her life. I like off street parking. I like a CLEAN restaurant and a CLEAN bathroom. I like that I can get decaf coffee, any size, hot or cold, with any flavor, any time of the day. I like that the breakfast has a nice sampling of fresh fruit with it. I like that in the middle of a crazy busy day, my husband and I can get a good lunch, some nice atmosphere and some quiet for about $20. I like that I can take a business associate for lunch and we can actually get something accomplished. Where to even begin with this place? I guess sticker-shock is a good place to start. A club sandwich, a chicken caesar wrap, fries and 2 diet cokes: $24!! Then, just to add a little salt to the open wallet-wound, you discover internet access cost a dollar. Well, $1.09, with tax. Because, why the hell not? Finally sat down to get to work, which proved difficult because the music was so loud that it forced everyone else in there to shout their conversations at each other. Somehow, in the midst of the enhanced-interrogation noise level, we didn't hear them calling our ticket number over a loud speaker. At this point, I guess we could talk about how for $12/meal, having someone walk it to the table isn't too much to ask, but I'd rather talk about the kid from the kitchen who showed up tableside, thrust our food at us, and barked, "I BEEN callin y'all" before abruptly walking away. I'm a good natured guy, so I brushed it off and settled into my (mediocre) meal. I really didn't decide to take the time to write a review until a few minutes later. We were there shortly before close, so the staff started sweeping around us. No big deal. The point of no return for me (literally-- I will never return to this place) came when the girl with the broom lifted it from the floor and used it to SWEEP OFF A TABLE.. Like, one that people eat on. Like, with the broom she had been using on the FLOOR. For all the money Puccino's put into renovating this place, I'd suggest they invest a little in staff development. Very disappointing! I went to the new Puccino's with my mother and grandmother for lunch. Mom and I both got panninis. Mine was extremely dry and they left off the cheese. My mother's looked as if they barely let the bread toast. It was not crunchy or brown and the cheese was not melted at all. My grandmother had a burger and asked for it medium. It was well done and very very dry. She had to cover it in condiments to eat part of it. When we told the staff of the problems, they did apologize for the uncooked pannini but said that the burgers only came well done. That seems unreasonable as most people I know do not like it that way. I can understand not doing rare for health concerns but the only reason to force well done on people is that the patties are premade and re-heated. They should have made this clear when she asked for it medium. She might have avoided it. To make matters worse, this very disappointing lunch took a very long time to make. We did not go at a busy time. There were only a few people in the place and fewer who getting food. How does it take so long to NOT cook a pannini? And the music in the place is really annoying and loud. I guess it is in italian. Whatever it is, it is not enjoyable. I got a breakfast sandwich and a cappuccino and it came out to $16. Kind of expensive not a super strong cappuccino. I was curious about the frozen ice milk so when I asked for a sample they told me they didn't have samples because the frozen cappuccino or whatever it was is made in specific increments. The point is I just wanted to taste what frozen cappuccino world famous milk is. (It looks like frozen yogurt) when I explain to them I don't want to taste the entire drink I just was curious what the frozen milk taste like they tell me the drink is mixed up so it's not really something you can sample. I said so in other words you don't have little sample cups. THe employee said no. And that's when the cook chimed in to tell me they don't have samples, of what is essentially frozen yogurt or ice cream, the cook was chewing food. Apparently the employees are allowed to be very nonchalant and eat whatever they want in front of customers but when a customer who just spent $16 asked to try a tiny little sample that's just unheard of. I don't even think the cook realize she was talking to me telling me I can't sample something with a mouthful of food after she just prepared my breakfast sandwich. read more

The turnover rate must be high because there are always new people who can't seem to get our order right. Today for breakfast not only was the woman taking my order rude but somehow managed to get everything in my order wrong! However when I went last night I went to log into the wifi which is normally free it said I needed to pay. The prices were unbelievable and are as follows $1.99 for 1 hour, $2.99 for 2 hours, $10.99 for 1 week, and $60 for a week. I do not regularly frequent this location, however, I have been a couple of times for lunch, and have not had any problems. As we normally drive into the city every Sunday morning to patron the best of the best breakfast spots, we decided to stay close and go here. I can't even comment on the food and beverages, as the place was being utilized as a library when I walked in the door. Every booth or table that could've been pushed together to accommodate a five top, was covered in books and laptops by high school girls. Some tables occupied up to six students, while some only had one. Who goes into a dining establishment by themselves and sits at a six top... to study??? Not to mention, out of the seven occupied booths of school girls (probably 15 people overall), I only noticed two drinks total on the tables. So as we stand there reading the menu, all we could think about is where we would sit down to eat our food. And pushing two round bistro tables together is not practical with two toddlers. The acknowledgement of our dilemma, or even a mere greeting by the staff, was obviously above their job duties. And I'm pretty sure our body language was obvious of the situation. As I looked for a manger to voice our dilemma, there didn't appear to be anyone of the status. Another customer recommended Cafe Latte da across the street, and we have forever found our new Sunday morning breakfast spot. Puccino's could have easily made $60 revenue from my family for breakfast, but obviously they prefer to accommodate students (whom most were not even paying customers) who should be utilizing the library to study instead. read more
