Had to come and write a good review since some of these sound really harsh. I love Puccino's. They have really good iced coffee and the frozen ones, and the prices are really great. I haven't tried a lot of their foods, but I will soon since I now work in the area. The drive-through had quick service and pleasant workers. I love their veterans location as well. I have been going to the Puccino's in Harahan for 10+ years and have been a regular customer. I order Iced Puccinos every time for me and my kids and have always been happy to support this location. Unfortunately, my last visit was extremely frustrating. For the past three visits, my drinks have been made incorrectly and I was given iced coffees instead. After ordering the same drink for years, I know exactly what it is supposed to taste like. What makes this especially disappointing is that the first two times this happened, it was handled completely different. The lead barista corrected the mistake, and the new employee was polite and apologized. I had no issues with this because mistakes happen. I was also told that the Puccino and iced coffee mixtures are kept in separate gallon jugs, so I understand how a newer employee could accidentally grab the wrong one. This time, however, I took a sip and immediately knew it was iced coffee. Honestly I could tell from the color because one is significantly darker. I politely explained this to a different new employee, but instead of checking the drinks or simply remaking it, he argued with me and insisted it was correct. The manager then came over and became defensive as well, telling me she had watched him pour the drink. At another point, she said she had made it herself, even though the employee had already told me that he made it. When I pointed out the inconsistency, the situation became even more frustrating. I was quickly dismissed and refunded, but the refund wasn't really the point. Mistakes happen. What matters is how you treat a customer when a mistake is brought to your attention. I've watched this location have some genuinely good employees over the years, only to see them leave, and after this experience, I honestly understand why. The customer service and management at this location have gone downhill, which is especially disappointing after being a loyal customer for so many years. I don't expect perfection. I expect someone to be willing to say, "I'm sorry, we made the wrong drink. Let me fix it." That's all this situation needed. Unfortunately, after years of being a regular customer, I won't be returning. My kids love their Puccinos, which is honestly the main reason I continued going, but I can make coffee at home. I don't need to spend my money somewhere that makes me feel like I'm being argued with for politely pointing out that I received the wrong drink. I hope someone above the store-level management sees this and takes a serious look at what is happening at the Harahan location. read more

I got there at 7:30 (they close at 9) and the boy behind the counter was already closing up (fine) but he got my drink wrong 3 times and kept saying "it's been a hard day, I'm here by myself". He also kept reminding me that they close soon (it was 7:30). Then, he gets in an argument with the people behind me in line about the service. It was just an overall uncomfortable experience. Also, shame on you Puccini's for only having one person scheduled. No wonder he was in a pissed off mood, you left him there by himself to close the whole store. read more

Love the ambiance - not super crowded on a Friday at 9:40A, kitschy decor, plenty of light. Young lady at counter was polite and eager to serve, though a bit distracted by activity going on behind her in the drive thru. Coffees were good, albeit a bit pricy: $6.25 for a large cappuccino - strong and definitely Italian coffee - and $7.75 for a med vanilla carmel whip frappe, which was like a dessert. Husband ordered Big Classic Breakfast with sausage patties, sunny side up. He enjoyed it, and I loved the pancakes. Unfortunately, I didn't love my breakfast. $6.95 Divine Biscuit Angel, not served in drive thru or take out. Must be something special; OK, I'll try it. Can I have the egg over hard? When they brought it to me, I thought they had my order wrong. It looked NOTHING like the picture. Upon closer look at the picture, the runny egg made it look moist. But where were the onions? I was told they were out of them because they don't sell very many of this biscuit. And the shredded cheese was a slice of American. Basically it was 2 sausage patties, a biscuit (that was a bit dry), an egg (which was over hard, thank you!) and a slice of cheese. The ladies that work here don't always make conversation with you, but they recommend great stuff and always get your food and drinks out to you quickly, hot and fresh. This place definitely has character!! Every wall has something interesting or funny to look at/read. The decor will leave you entertained and never board. I live in River Ridge so I go to this small coffee shop. The place is beautiful inside and the people at the window are very friendly. I tried a "mocha frappe" and I swear it was the most delicious thing I've ever had in my life. Of course, coffee is a little pricey. Everything is a little pricey right now. What a wonderful experience! My hubby and I visited Puccinos and truly enjoyed it. In all transparency, the inside has a lot going on, but the service was phenomenal and we enjoyed our drinks. First, let me give kudos to Jerry, who served us. He was welcoming, made suggestions and extended genuine gratitude. He did a great job sharing about the menu since it was our first visit, offered us a sample of their signature drink and sharing details about their refill policy. Perfect 10 on the service. I enjoyed my frozen cappuccino- very creamy, flavorful and a good portion size. My hubby tried the house coffee with lavender flavoring. Definitely something new, but he really enjoyed it. Where do I begin.? Coffee is fine. That's good. Iced latte is good. Can't have a granita because it's loaded with sugar and I don't like a whole lot of sugar so that's out. I've gotten a croissant that was toasted that was so so I've gotten a croissant that was heated in the microwave and that was rubbery. They stopped serving breakfast way too early for me. I like breakfast anytime of the day and that is not possible because their kitchen closes quite early. I think it's about 2 in the afternoon. Service was less than enthusiastic or friendly. I always try to be friendly and smile and it's difficult with someone who seems like they don't want to be there. The café is appealing. it was clean. read more

Interesting place. The interior of Puccino's is immaculate. I mean, really a work of art with the furnishings. Yet the service that goes along with a good product is so-so. A little slow at times when it comes to ordering and delivering such items as coffee, sandwich wraps, and pastries. The kitchen closes either at 3 or 4 PM, and you'll have to walk to the window to pick up your food as opposed to getting it served to you at the table. Nonetheless, the food and coffee is pretty good, and there is a gambling room that is within the center of the venue. Puccini's is not cool. That's not a criticism, as "cool" here is used in its pre-West Side Story former sense: understated, quiet, calm, muted, unemotional. Puccini's is none of these, with its bright lights and colors, seemingly endless array of menus and promotions in front, behind, hanging above, and atop the counter, a wide range of products arrayed there as well as on shelves and rolling carts all around the place, and even a collection of motivational words running along the molding overhead. Did that last sentence leave you a bit overwhelmed? If so, I've succeeded in conveying the feeling of sitting down with a cup of coffee at Puccino's. My experience is limited to the cup of brewed coffee, which was surprisingly weak but still satisfying, and a scone that moist and fresh with a biscuit-like texture. There is a complete brunch menu with sandwiches and egg-based dishes. Back to those motivational words: The list overhead included "accomplished, astute, confident, creative, resourceful, strong, loving," and "discrete". Discrete? All the rest I could imagine on posters at the office, but "discrete"? Did they mean "discreet"? The latter probably applies to some of the rendezvous at coffee shops, but how did the word--in either spelling--end up on that list? I will carry that question to the grave, I fear. read more

I am not one to leave reviews, I am one that understands people and businesses have off days, but for me to have had food from this place twice in 3 weeks and it not be good, for the prices they charge, I am HIGHLY disappointed. The very first time I've ever had food from here, I had a wrap, not good. Today I had a Caesar Salad, horrible. The chicken literally was hard and looked as if it had been sitting, definitely not fresh. I paid $12 for this salad and it was NOT worth the money AT ALL!!!! Such an interesting, artful interior that's oh so pleasant to be in. Good music and friendly staff, you can tell that they have a good system amongst staff. Interior was immaculate, they even have a button that you can press if you need a table cleaned for you. Thia is my first visit, and I definitely want to come back to try some of their food items. I love how their menu includes the tax, but my beverage was somehow even cheaper than that! I was served quickly after I ordered, amd the staff was very knowledgeable about the different drinks. I have to say that this is the worst coffee shop in Elmwood. If you want to wait 15 min and pay almost $3.50 for bitter black coffee, then for sure come here. If you want the drive through person to argue with you about the price and wait time and be super rude to your face, then for sure come here. Otherwise, yes, I agree, you're not Starbucks, where I have never waited 15 min for black coffee with a horrible attitude. You order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. It's a little unclear if its expected to bus your own table and I've seen people do both. -They have outdoor seating -This Puccino's has a drive thru, but a few times I have tried to use it, they've had issues and it takes longer than if I would just walk inside. If you have been to any of the other locations, this one is no different except it is larger. Yes, they still have clusters of crap everywhere, as if someone bought one of everything from World Market and threw it on the counter. The music is a no go, its super loud italian pop music. Since its been open I have never seen it empty so the people of River Ridge and Harahan are taking to it well. I grew up in the area so I love seeing new businesses popping up. I visited Puccino's for a quick daytime coffee outing. I arrived at 10am on a Tuesday morning and parking was non-existent. I guess it's good that they're getting business, but the parking lot is a bit small for the location. I had to drive around a few minutes before locating a spot behind the building. I then had to go through the drive through area in order to reach the parking spot. I ordered a cappuccino, and silly me for thinking that it would come in a small ceramic cup lol. I was asked if I wanted a small, medium or large. I was then given the option of adding flavoring. I never knew ordering a cappuccino could be so difficult lol. However, I did appreciate the fact that they had several sugar free syrups and decided to go with french vanilla. My cappuccino was super hot and I had to wait about 30 minutes before being able to comfortably drink it. The inside of the coffee shop was unique, but the atmosphere wasn't for me. I can't see myself taking my laptop there and hanging out for a couple of hours. read more

I am a coffee lover of all sorts, so Italian coffee after a morning of plane travel sounded really amazing at that very moment. Totally not what I was expecting, when I walked in on a pretty early morning though. It was an awkward vibe. Then, I walked up to the order counter and the customer service was just felt cold, like our business was unwanted. I've been to another Puccino's Coffee location and it was a lot better than this one. Ordered coffee and it was more bitter than I remember. My family and I were a bit hungry, too and tomato soup was on the menu. Sadly, that was just okay, too, nothing too exciting. The coffee shop was was near empty and I was surprised because it was so warm and inviting. They definitely get an A for "awkward" and I was just B for "bummed. The frozen Puccino gets 5 stars, most everything else 2-3 stars, including the service. It's just blah and basic - nothing that differentiates them. I do like that you can request a decaf frozen Puccino. I tried the 1/2 sandwich & soup combo and it was average. It is definitely not worth $7.99 though. The tomato soup, eh. I didn't finish it all. The ham is thick sliced and has the skin on it? Ham with skin annoys me on a sandwich. The Swiss cheese is average, as is the wheatberry bread; which tastes like regular ol' wheat bread to me. $1.89 for a 16.9oz bottle of Kentwood water = ridiculous. They have a $5 credit card minimum. The owners are deeply stupid, and the biscuit queen signs are really strange (please take them down). However most of the workers are really nice, especially the Eastern European ladies on met road and the big guy with a southern accent in river ridge. I don't really understand the effort to advertise how "healthy" Puccinos is (it's clearly not) but I enjoy the frozen green tea, granita, or chocolate muffin. Kitchen food is not worth your money but if you're craving fries or something it's decent. The ambiance is really nice though the music is sometimes too loud. The only reason I'm giving them a 3 is because I'm not really a fan of the food but that might just be me. My father in law loves the croissants. The best part about this place is that they let me chill and work all day and have the most comfortable booths with outlets. Their wifi is fast. I think Puccino's is now my go-to for coffee. If you are an iced or frozen coffee fan, this is your place. We don't have one on the Westbank, but my new office is in Puccino's territory and I've been enjoying it. I can't believe I've been missing out for years. Their Frozen Cappuccino is fantastic. Tons of sugar, I'm sure, but you can still taste the coffee, which seems to be a rarity in the world of frozen coffee these days. It's a treat, and a good one at that. They do have a sign by the drive thru explaining how the Frozen Cappuccino is "good for you".... I would probably take that with a grain of salt, but it is good for my tastebuds! read more

I would rather give everyone a good review, but I just can't for here because the staff is wildly inconsistent with attitude, attentiveness, and LISTENING SKILLS. Several young people who've waited on me & whomever I'm with in the past seem to be drifting with their disinterested "not another one" looks and hamster-wheel heads with calliope music playing and not hearing "AND A SCONE." It's always a scone issue with me, as if someone hit the mute button when I ask for one. Not everyone who works there is like that--there are a few on staff who are always cool & on point, and trust me that those darling ones know who I'm talking about in the above paragraph. The other major issue is the coffee is NOT Italian but more like that of a gas station that opened a really pretty cafe and are using two prepackaged coffee pot packs instead of one. It's not dark, it's not rich, and it all has this bizarre, slightly sweetly bitter taste. They truly, sincerely need new coffee period. Someone needs to go to Starbucks and buy a bag of Verona, French, or Italian roast, although if they really want to go gung-ho, they should find a Torrefazione Italia distributor. That's the creme de la creme that could turn this place around. Compare here to Brocato's, for example, and you'll agree Brocato's=Italian and Puccino's=gas station/donut shop. I recommend a diet coke or San Pellegrino. Desserts are decadent, but this is Nola and there's plenty of competition. Lunch is run of the mill with nothing stand out or unique. They really need a wider variety of simple pastries. read more
