Tastee doughnuts, Krystal burgers, some Mackenzie recipes and some local crafts as well. Very clean inside & friendly staff.

a sausage and cheese sandwich wrapped in aluminum foil

January 27, 2022. Came in for a quick little breakfast. I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese on toast breakfast. Specifically asked for extra bacon on the sandwich, knowing I would pay extra, which I knew. Left and went home to eat my sandwich and the sandwich had one single piece of bacon. I payed $2.00 for a piece of bacon. I then called and the lady and she was avoiding me and just saying there's nothing she can do.

Blueberry donut, the one I referenced got eaten before photos could be taken. Haha.

They have a sour cream donut there that is incredible! I know sour cream may sound crazy but it's so delicious. They run out quick on Saturday mornings so if you are looking for a particular donut I'd call and ask if they have anymore before coming in. Small shop which is difficult for social distancing but overall great option for donuts in the Lakeview area.

Great donut shop. King cakes are dynamite also. Everything is good! The glaze donuts are super when they are hot!

Great local business. Best thing is the Big Burger with the square (sweet) bun! Love the ladies behind the counter!

What??!! This is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in in my entire 50-year-old life!…read more We have been coming to New Orleans a couple times a year from Southern California for about the last 10 years or so and I'm upset that no one even recommended this place!! We are here for the Essence Festival and I just so happen to be rapping to one of the security officers at the convention center, and she recommended this place. I want to go back & give her the biggest hug and kiss on the cheek! It is ridiculous how flavorful everything was! Just didn't make any sense! Lol lol I've sent this location to everyone I know that travels to New Orleans. The price is great, and the portions are very healthy! This restaurant in California would be almost double what your bill is going to be. There was three people at the table & we ordered four appetizers..... (which was all we really needed)... and everyone agreed 1 out of 10, they gave it a 10!! this restaurant is a must to try when visiting or even if you live in the city! So much good food to eat, but this is by far the best restaurant I've ever been to in New Orleans!

Perfectly broiled with butter, cheese, garlic and delicious We also had the seafood stuff mushrooms which were great. The crawfish beignet a large portion. All perfect for sharing. Lastly the redfish topped with lump crabmeat and fresh vegetables. Lively crowd of all ages. The only issue was that the restaurant did not have our reservation made with Yelp. But the greeter was so kind, asked it was with Yelp and she did say they are experiencing issues. She cleared a table and we were seated quickly. (I do have the yelp confirmation, btw). This was our 4th time there and very good to great each time.

If you are reading this, which of course I know you are, BE PREPARED FOR A LONG WAIT! If you read…read morethe whole review I'll give you the best tip on how to skip the line (insert shushing emoji) and don't cheat by skipping to the end! Hands down, the best po'boys in all of NOLA. Everything is made from scratch (except the bread, which they source locally), and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My personal favorites are the Surf & Turf and the James Brown. The Surf & Turf gives you get the best of both worlds (shout out to Hannah Montana). Look it up kids. You get the slow-cooked roast beef with gravy plus fresh Gulf shrimp. Shut the front door! The James Brown is just as incredible: juicy BBQ beef, pepper jack cheese, fried shrimp, and a hot sauce mayo. Bring napkins - you'll need them. Pro tip: go with a group and order a few different po'boys to share. You'll want to try everything. You made it to the end, so here we go. I feel like gate keeping (look it up old-timers), but I'm going to be generous because I love y'all. In order to skip the line, go to the bar area and find a high top or seat at the bar. A seat always opens up quickly. It never fails. You can order from the bartender and the service is top notch. Cheers y'all!

The cheese fries are a sad shame. It's just melted cheddar that immediately solidifies on regular fries and gets super greasy. The fried pickles were good. The grilled chicken poor boy wasn't it - it was bland. The gumbo was good but quite watery - not many ingredients. Very little rice. Not pictured - the cole slaw was really bland. The potato salad was the best one. Husband enjoyed the fried shrimp. The roast beef tasted like cat food - terrible texture. The merch is super overpriced ($25 for a dog toy? Out of a vending machine!) The bathrooms were air conditioned and clean.

After traveling all day, we decided to sit outside on the patio. We had a fantastic waiter who took great care of us. They have an experienced bartender and a great signature cocktail list. Highly recommend any of the martinis. The charcuterie board was delicious as were all of our entrees. Highly recommend the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp! Bread pudding was divine. ***Brown butter rosemary fries - pass on these unless good plain fries are what you're looking for. I didn't taste a hint of brown butter or rosemary on the fries and their "maison sauce" was just ketchup.

The ambiance of this place was the best part of the experience - the Vessel is located in an old church building. I loved the vibes and it felt both classy and casual at the same time. We didn't have reservations on a Saturday night, but we were able to be seated as soon as we came in! We started with the hand cut fries and I found them to be delicious and fresh. Afterwards, I had the seafood pasta and it was great - appropriate balance of the pasta and seafood. We ended with the creme brule and it was perfect - it had the right amount of crunchiness at the top and was soft as soon as you broke into it. Overall, I had a great experience here and hope to try this place out for brunch in the future!

The oysters I had that day were unforgettable. I was excited to finally dine in the restaurant. The restaurant is welcoming and well-appointed. The staff is ok. I didn't have a positive memorable exchange with any of them. Towards the end of my meal, I recognized who I thought was the owner. She helped run food and talked to guests, but she never came to my table. I continued to watch her laugh and connect with other guests, and never looked my way. That was truly disappointing. Plus, there are tons of food & drink options so everyone's guaranteed to find something they would like. (The Bloody Mary's are really good.) My favorite item on the menu is the Platno Maduro (This is a fried sweet plantain with refried beans, homemade cream, and queso fresco on top.) IT IS SOOO good and actually a very authentic dish. Not something common that we eat in the states. You definitely have to try it. I also loveeee the chilaquiles and the espresso is good quality. my mom really likes the Louisiana crab toast. All in all, the food is always delicious and the service is usually decent (anytime it wasn't - the food made up for it). I come back here maybe a few times a year. Moderately priced and always delicious. Check it out!!
