Reason for a mediocre review: this place was not busy at all at 12:30pm on a Friday for lunch, yet somehow service was soooo slow. My husband & I were there over an hour getting an order of wings and a cheesesteak and getting our check. Food: great, loved the grilled chicken cheesesteak and the mashed sweet potatoes. I've eaten at the Puckett's locations in Nashville and Franklin where I enjoyed the overall experience. This location in Chattanooga was rather disappointing I have to say in comparison. The ambiance of this space just came off as rather dark and depressing. Service was rather slow and inefficient with very basic things like taking my order and drink refills. The food I ordered was simply not well executed. I also visited on a Sunday and for some reason the city of Chattanooga thinks it is a good idea to charge for parking in the literal parking lot that this Puckett's location is at which seems highly unusual compared to other cities and other areas of Chattanooga. Overall there are just a lot of better options in Chattanooga than what my experience here was like. read more

Coleslaw very similar to KFC. Cornbread is like a very small dry tasteless pancake. We went here for the all-you-can-eat Thanksgiving meal. We reserved a table for 2:15 but they didn't have our table ready for us when we got there. They don't really have a place to wait, so that was unfortunate. We walked around outside for a bit but it was very cold and they hadn't texted us that our table was ready, so we decided to just go back inside and wait by the front desk even though there wasn't much room. Thankfully, they were able to then get us a different table so we wouldn't have to wait anymore. The service was slow but they were very busy. I don't think anyone was being lazy, but maybe they could've used a couple more servers. We also weren't given rolls until we were almost done and I finally asked for some. We probably would've ordered more food but it was just taking too long to get service. So I was disappointed with that. The food was pretty good though. The fried pickles were very good as an appetizer, but then I ordered the meatloaf with mushroom gravy and potatoes and beans, but the gravy really was more onions than mushrooms. It was terrible. I was visiting the area with my mom and some friends who live in nearby Lenoir City. We decided to come to Puckett's for dinner as it was recommended by the bartender of the hotel we were staying at and was within walking distance. The ambiance was family atmosphere, a little loud but fun. We placed our name on the wait list and went to the bar for a cocktail. My friends ordered the Liquid marijuana. It was strong! I got a cocktail with sweet tea vodka, peach schnapps and lemonade. An adult Arnold Palmer. Loved it. We had to wait less than ten minutes for our table. Renee was our waitress. She had quite a few tables to take care of but she worked her area well. We never felt ignored. The noise level was a little high so it made it difficult to chat but once the live music started people quieted down to allow everyone to hear. I was so surprised and thrilled to have live music. The singer songwriter Courtney Holder was performing and she was fantastic. She sang a couple of covers as well as her own material. If you have a chance to see her, give her a listen. My mom and I split the Whole Farm. It was a great way to sample multiple entrees. It came with beef brisket, pulled pork, chicken and ribs with baked beans. We opted for the skillet Mac and cheese over the collard greens. It was so much food. Three people could have easily partaken in the meal. The Mac and cheese was amazing. Ooey, gooey and delicious. We came in Thursday of last week for the first time and we were so impressed! We thought it would be a gimmicky bbq restaurant being that it was right downtown, but we were SO wrong. We were seated immediately for lunch service the first time we came and our drink order was taken right away. Our appetizer came out and we had plenty of time to eat it (absolutely delicious by the way) before our food arrived. The macaroni and cheese was PHENOMENAL and pushed the main course over the top. Lastly, the dessert was the star of the whole entire show. That deep fried brownie is different in the absolute best way and something really special to this restaurant! From the bar aspect, I was really intrigued with all of the different drinks on tap and the variety of styles (ciders, different lagers, etc.). We loved it so much we went back today for lunch and it's an hour and a half drive for us. We had different wait staff both days and they were equally wonderful. While we had a short wait today, it was exactly as quoted and everyone was so nice! I would highly recommend! read more

Not good! Went there for Thanksgiving. Selections were turkey, ham, meatloaf and some sides. Turkey was terrible- looked more like spam. Meatloaf was just as bad. The sides were also bad... either no flavor or bad flavor. Dessert was overly sweet. Seems like most of the foods served were processed or packaged, not 'home made'. Very disappointing. What a fun place to dine!.... Truly southern Chattanooga'n food here. We ordered 'the farm' which is a bit of everything meat, slaw, collards, and corn cakes....yummm.. all was done to perfection, including the crispy chicken flesh that just crunches in your mouth. The brisket, ribs, and chicken were heavenly... the collards, yes, when you eat southern food ya gotta try collards, they know how to cook em. First time we were able to walk into this popular restaurant without a wait! And it was so worth it. We stopped by for a late lunch during the week. The menu is large and our choices were hard to make, but my partner and I both chose the meat plate with two sides each. We both had the pork as our meat choice. It was tender and smoky. Delicious. I chose the greens and fries. My partner had the beans and macaroni and cheese for his choices. The Mac was out of this world good!! And the greens were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fries were good as were the beans also. The choice of bbq sauce was a hard choice!! Texas spicy and a sweet bbq also. Both were great. The service was excellent. Fast and friendly. When we arrived about 10:15, it wasn't very busy so we were sat right away. It took while for our server to notice us. When she finally came over, she said sorry I didn't know you were my section. Need to work on communication with staff. Tried to order a starter, the pimento bites, but they weren't prepped yet. We ended up ordering 2 of the Apple Jack pancakes with Fried Chicken, 1 King's French Toast, and the Southern Platter. If you look at the photos, the King's French Toast was toast, very little if any egg was to make it French toast. At the Nashville location, it's thicker bread with a nice egg wash and the presentation is much nicer! It was so dry, I only ate 1 piece by dipping it in the peanut butter, which was the only part of mine I enjoyed. The Apple Jack pancakes were nothing like the ones we had in Nashville location. So much spice, that was all you could taste, and extremely dry! The chicken was not good either. Way over cooked and cold. It had a funk to it, like old oil being used. We did not eat hardly any of this. The Southern platter was okay, nothing special. My coffee sat empty for a while, then was filled to the brim so I couldn't add any creamer and had to carefully lift it so I didn't spill it. May want to remind servers not to fill to the very top. Last issue we had was the constant drip of water on the edge of our table from the AC above. We would not come back to this location, not nearly what we expected after visiting the Nashville location. Edit to add: Thank you for reaching out. I would rate the service we received at Puckett's a 5, and the food itself a 3. We visited on a Saturday afternoon after visiting the Tennessee Aquarium. We started with fried pickles, which arrived hot, and these were a good appetizer. For entrees my husband ordered a brisket sandwich with fries and a side of smoked sausage. I had the wood fired grilled chicken with green beans and house salad. My husband said his brisket was a bit on the dry side and he did not finish his meal. My wood fired chicken was also dry, and part of it I was not even able to chew. The sides of green beans and salad were good. For the price the food we received would not warrant a return trip. Perhaps other menu items would have been more to our liking. Our server, however, made sure our glasses remained full and made sure we had whatever we needed. Excellent lunch. Enjoyed a day with hubby at the zoo and finished off with a very nice lunch at Pucketts. I had the grilled portabella mushroom sandwich with sweet potato fries. Hubs had the wings and Mac and cheese. Both were delicious. The portabella sandwich was just a little greasy but, admittedly still delicious. Our waitress was attentive but not intrusive. We bought some seasoning and their spicy bbq sauce which we both loved. Definitely a must stop for lunch or dinner when in the area of the aquarium. read more

There is a LOT of hype about Puckett's and we were grossly disappointed. The host situation was inadequate at best, the server acted like we were inconveniencing her. The food was equally disappointing. We had the fried green beans and they were mushy. We had sliders (pork and brisket), they lacked any flavor until you added bbq sauce and trust me it was necessary. The sweet potato fries that came out were so burnt you could have used them to start a fire, second batch were perfect. Grits were bland and mashed potatoes were nothing to elaborate on. The baked beans were good...but overall completely a waste of our money. Just another tourist trap, don't get caught! read more

We had Heather as our waitress and she was so sweet and attentive. My husband probably went through 8 glasses of water and she was on top of it. Not sure if they were short staffed but a lot of other tables were long waits to get food. Was seated at 1:10 and got replacement order at 2:00.
