This is a good local restaurant that is family friendly. We were seated right away and our waiter was very attentive. We ordered our drinks with the guacamole and cheese dip to start which we ate with gusto. We tore through our large basket of chips dipping them in the guac and cheese dips. At first, we chased the chunky guac around trying to get it on the chips and then we got smart and used a fork. When we ran out of chips, we asked for more which the waiter did immediately. Then came our entrees: chicken cheese quesadillas, fish tacos, a sizzling platter of chicken steak mix fajita for 2 with flour tortillas. All were solid choices and came with a small scoop of pico de gallo, sour cream, guac and lettuce. Tacos and fajita came with yellow rice too. The portions were good (the quesadillas were so big that none of the 3 who ordered it were able to finish theirs but not for lack of trying). The food was good - not spectacular but not bad either. Pueblos is back and after a remodel and some tweaks, it's looking like the same old quality is back. For a treat, they have some interesting items you won't find anywhere else. I recommend the meatballs (albondigas) or huarache chilango to name a couple of my usuals. This is more common in other places now, but I think their pastor tacos are really good with the pineapple grilled in. The salsa is just okay for me. I prefer a bit more complexity and spice - this one borders on a south Texas style (though still way better than that). The service is a lot of new faces, so you may have to be patient with this fresh staff for a little while. I'm sure it won't take long, but it feels like most everyone is getting their bearings still. read more

One of most expensive Mexican restaurants I've ever encountered. I ordered takeout and the bill was $73?!?!? What in the world?!?!? For example, I added three extra bags of tortilla chips and three larger salsas with my existing order and this alone was $20. I mean I paid the price, because my family and I were starving and I wanted to hurry up and get the food home, but please be aware that the prices are astronomical for what you're getting. You'd think you were buying fillet mignon or lobster! As for the food, it was okay, but not good enough to pay that outrageous price tag again. I'll make Mexican food at home from now on or just go to another restaurant. I'm actually surprised they're still in business, but I guess the people that go there have more money than they have sense. read more

Authentic food that was freshly prepared. Tasty, clean and great service. A new restaurant to add to my list of Gainesville places to go to for unique food! This was our local neighborhood go to place for Mexican food but no more. Prices keep going up while quality is going downhill. Today's order had old coagulated queso dip that didn't thin upon heating (also had a piece of meat floating in it), chips that tasted fried in rancid oil, and browned lettuce. Never again. read more

As a former Texan who's been living in Ohio for half her life now, I have to say this place hit the spot! We got the tacos a las brasas and fire roasted poblano - both were delicious! Their frozen margaritas were really good too. I'd say the guacamole was light on salt and lime for my taste, but they still used fresh ingredients. We are relatively new to Georgia and have been trying a few of the local Mexican restaurants. Our favorite regular spots are Casa Del Taco, and Señor fiestas. But we wanted to try out some different places so we went to Pueblo's on Thompson's Bridge. Kudos to our waiter, he was very kind and accommodating. My 4-year-old grandson ordered from the kids menu, and even he turned away the pizza which turned to be soggy and inedible. Unfortunately the food quality was very Bland, hardly tasting like Mexican food at all. Quantities were fine but without the quality nobody really ate much of anything. And the price is not that much different than the local places we have been hitting. Though very close to home, I think I'd rather drive a longer distance or a better meal. Just my opinion read more

We moved to Gainesville several months ago and have been trying different Mexican restaurants in the area we now have a new favorite!

This is slightly better then average Mexican food. We enjoy the lunch chicken fajita's which provides a nice portion and all the accompionments. Ask for the black beans instead of Redford beans to make the meal healthier. The service is prompt and no complaints and the Prices are reasonable. read more

We live very close and eat here often. We always tip 20% or more. I never post negative reviews but I will 100% not be back. The last few times we ate here we had pretty bad service (and still tip 20% or more). We went there last night and sat at the bar hoping to get better service. We were the only people in the bar area. The girl behind the bar flirted with one of the waiters the entire time, at one point they both went in the back for at least 30 minutes (both came back out at the same time). I had to ask for menus, I had to flag someone down to take our order, I had to ask for water and refills. Our food came out separate and we had no utensils to eat it with. I had to flag someone down the give us forks. I had to flag someone down to get us sauce. At no point did anyone check on us or ask if we needed anything. To top it off; an older couple came in and sat next to us at the bar (now only four customers in the bar area total) and both the girl and the guy ran up to the bar immediately and started talking to them and gave them immediate service. Standing almost directly in front of us, talking to them, and did not look at us or ask if we needed anything (this was probably about 10 minutes of conversation they had). In my 32 years, I haven't experienced such poor service. I honestly felt like there were underlying issues they had with us; whether it's race or how we look... I don't know. It's very disappointing to go to an establishment to spend your hard earned money and be treated so poorly. It ruined my evening and we wasted 60.00. I was so upset I didn't even eat my food or finish my beer; and she didn't offer a to-go box. She just snatched our plates up after I asked for the check. I will never ever be back or support this restaurant. read more

I have been to this restaurant for years. I can in tonight, and had a terrible experience. The waiter (tall man with brown curly hair) dropped my silverware ON THE FLOOR while leading us to the table, picked it up, and put it on my table. I immediately told him that was not okay. I was going to have to use that napkin that had been on the floor. No, thank you! That same guy took the chip baskets, straight up dumped the baskets on top of trash already in the trash can, and places and reused those same baskets to fill with chips WITHOUT washing them! The waiters were using green towels to clean surfaces, all the while the towels were hanging inside the trash cans! I am just disgusted. With the how unsanitary they are with "cleanliness" here, I will NOT be coming back here. read more

She had an attitude for absolutely no reason, she asked for my ID when I ordered a drink and when she was done looking at it (I was reading through the menu) she just tossed my ID onto the menu I was looking at. She would walk away slightly rolling her eyes and thought that my guests and I didnt see her. Girl...WE SAW YOU. Totally unprofessional! If you dont like your job then go back to school and go get a career in a field you actually like instead of serving us with your miserable attitude.
