Honestly, it's been awhile since I have seen an all you can eat brunch at a small Mexican restaurant. But this place is bustling and noisy with families indulging the buffet for $9. Outdoor seating may be a better option..... Maybe it is busier since tomorrow is cinco de mayo or maybe this is typical. Anyway, my 2 huevos y frijoles on corn tortillas were small and unmemorable. Disappointing since tortillas are housemade. Plus they charge for chips and salsa....if buffet is not selected. Made to order eggs on the buffet so that is a plus. Staff is friendly if inattentive amid the bustle. Maybe I will try again on a non weekend. read more

We brought a neighborhood group of 15 tonight and I was blown away by the food and service!!!! Best Mexican in Gainesville, by far!!!! The guacamole was great! Had the Taco Tuesday Steak Tacos were outstanding!!!! I have never had charro beans, but these are not to be missed!!!! Sooooo much flavor! I could eat a swimming pool size bowl!!!! We are a tough group, all with separate checks, but our waitress (beautiful name, starts with Y I think) was a champ! Kept it all straight and you can pay with QR code! Run, don't walk to Haydees! A level above normal Mexican places. Sits somewhere in between super authentic and run of the mill Mexican food like senior fiesta. I'll put it this way, they make their own tortillas fresh. It doesn't scratch the same itch that's say a taco truck would, but still very good. The pastor tacos are my favorite. I will say however, the red sauce they supply your table with in the bottle is very hit or miss. It varies between so spicy it almost renders your food inedible to basically no spice at all, like ketchup with no sugar. It would be nice if that was a bit more consistent. Love this spot! The food is consistently delicious and I especially love their breakfast menu. Their Chilaquiles dishes are some of the best I've ever had. I am also grateful for the servers here. They are ALWAYS friendly and welcoming as is the management. Anytime you feel appreciated in an eating establishment these days is wonderful and I always feel that way here. Went to Gainesville for a family outing and this place was a last minute decision but I am really glad we made it. The pastor was so good, and the shredded chicken! They have the option to get grilled chicken but I always get shredded if there is a option for it and man was it not disappointing. I feel like there isn't enough places that serve it or serve it well. Got three tacos to share and it came with bean stew I don't remember the name unfortunately. I fave thing was the Chicharróns they fry them there and dang are they good they come to the table crackling! It's such a cool experience. I like the fish bowl kitchen, it's got a big window and it's fun to watch sometimes. I wish the steak taco had been a bit more moist but that pretty much my only complaint. They have handmade tortillas too, which were even used for kids quesadillas. The kids likes being able to sit at the high top tables and the tv's are huge. Kinda sports bar with a day of the dead(Día de los Muertos) theme going on. The servers were great and they all seemed like a team. read more

This is the second Haydees location and it's just as good as the first down in Oakwood. They had a special on four tacos the day we tried it and they were outstanding. I had one steak, one chicken, one pastor and one fish. They were all different in flavor and ingredients, all outstanding! I was also impressed by the Charo beans. Normally beans are just an expected side but these were amazing, the broth they were cooked in was outstanding. Service was friendly, prompt and helpful. I love that it's a sit down, table service but fast food restaurant with a full bar and TV. Can't wait to try more of their menu items, especially breakfast. read more

Yesterday was my first visit and for sure I'll be back! The food was excellent and what was really impressing was the open kitchen with a lot of glass so you could see all the food being cooked and prepped fresh right in front of you. Luis and his team provided above average customer service with a smile! The café area and the outdoor seating areas were spotless. The bathrooms were clean and well kept. The overall customer experience I had was well above any other similar operation in Gainesville, Georgia. Louise certainly has the passion for his customers, to deliver the best food to perfection and provide exceptional experience. The flow to the outside seating and an open window connected to the bar are going to be rocki this spring and summer. read more

My server, Alexa R (name on receipt), was great as soon as I walked into the door she acknowledged my presences and guided me to a table with menu and cutlery in hand. she's was patient and gave me plenty of time to look over the menu.
