I've been hearing about this place for sometime now, and finally got to check it out. They are only open on Saturday and Sunday. They are set up in a small trailer with a window to order from. There's a few small tables in the parking lot to sit at, so mostly a takeout place. Ordered the roasted pork that came with two sides. I got the rice with ham and pigeon peas and yucca fries for $17.99. It's a generous portion so you can definitely split it with someone. The pork is delicious, tender and flavorful. The rice was tasty and the Yucca were cooked perfectly. I also got a homemade guava juice on the side which was very refreshing. I am looking forward to going back and trying other things on the menu. I wish they would add may be a Friday to allow for more opportunity to visit.

I've never been a fan of pizza empanadas until I ordered them from the Puerto Rico cafe WOW everything I ordered was delicious

This place is a hidden gem! I truly recommend Puerto Rico Cafe for delicious authentic food, great service, and generous portions. Their pernil and carne frita are amazing. Their arroz con gandules is so good. They even recently had Chuleta Kan Kan!! On Sundays, they have sold fresh pan sobao. They also have the greatest homemade quesitos. I love this place!!

I got the the Pernil, arroz con gandules, and tostones. THEY TASTE LIKE MY GRANDMA MADE This place is awesome, food is great, got it quickly with friendly service, and for the portion you get, it's well priced. If you miss Puerto Rico, or just wanna taste good food, come to this spot.

My friend and I ordered two Abuelo's Favorite Plate and the rice and peas were proportioned, the shredded pork succulent and the ripe plantain sweet and delicious. We topped our order off with two guava and sweet cream pastelillos - pastry nice and flaky and the filling just the right sweetness to end this delicious meal on! Thank you Que Rico for a meal reminiscent of my childhood Sunday dinners!

Pretty good food if you have a craving for Puerto Rican food…read more The Pastelillos were delish. I ordered a ground beef and a chicken with cheese. They were crispy, good amount of filling and nice flavor overall. Fantastic. I think they should serve the meal with a bit more rice. The Pernil, pulled pork was sort of dry and unfortunately the large side of garilc mojo sauce (garlic oil) was sideways in the bag and by time I got it home, the oil had all leaked out into the paper bag and onto the floor mat inside my car. The mofongo bites listed as 5 bites, however I only received 4. They were on the sweet side. The masa from the plantain taste too ripe for my liking. I prefer more green plantains in my mofongo. The tostones were pretty good. The pictures made them look a bit larger, but oh well. This was my first time ordering from a ghost kitchen, and the concept is a brilliant idea because you can order from so many cuisines! You can try so many restaurants in one place. Quite amazing.

The Sancocho is amazing. Its a hearty meat stew that in my family we call it the hang over soup or the feel better soup. Growing up if I had the flu or a cold my mama would whip this up. Their soup was good... but I wish it had tripe and more meat in the stew and a bit more seasonings. Would i order it again? Probably not. Mofongo. Something that I absolutely love.. It didn't taste fresh.. the chiacharrones ( fried pork cracklings) was not crispy :( The saving grace was their chicken guisado.. a very hearty chicken stew ... that was a chef kiss. The employees are great. But if your looking for delicious Mofongo.. ita in lower east side NYC..

Unfortunately, due to bad past experiences with mofongo from other places, I decided to skip the mofongo and go for a guisada (stew). Generally speaking the beef stew, which was served with beans and rice was decent. However, for my tastes, the stew seemed to be really greasy/fatty. I do not think that I ever had a guisado with so many fat droplets in the "soup". Also, I thought the beef was a bit tough/chewy for a stew; I was expecting the meat to be a bit more tender. While the stew was not horrible, I will say that I was a bit disappointed that I spent $20 on it. Since this is a Domincan restaurant, a little Spanish might go a long way. Overall, I thought the staff was nice. However, this appears to be a place where the staff knows a lot of the customers (or at least the Latino customers), so you might feel a bit like a persona non grata upon entry. However, they'll probably will warm up to you after a few minutes. While I somewhat enjoyed my stew, I really enjoyed my margaritas more. Since I'm still new to the area, I might check out some other Latin/Dominican restaurants before circling back around this restaurant.

It was our first time here and we couldn't decide what we wanted. After drooling over the plates that went by, we asked the owner to help us narrow down our options. We landed on the Chicharron Sampler for an appetizer. For our main courses, we had the Bandeja Paisa and the Paella Caribena. We were also eyeing the Dominican-style beef stew and the Sancocho Soup. We asked for a sample of the Sancocho soup and that's when we found out they make everything to order - including the soup! His wife went into the kitchen and whipped up a sample of the soup ... we didn't mind the wait for the sample as we knew she was working her magic! It did not disappoint. We ordered a large soup to go! It'll be cold later this week and this will be perfect in the rainy weather. This place reminds me of home - the way my mother cooks ... the flavors are developed and everything was cooked to perfection. I did a little dance in my chair with each bite! The portions were large - we'll have left overs for the next several days! And I CANNOT wait! We're looking forward to coming back and trying something new! PHOTO DISCLOSURE: We dove into the Chicharron Sampler before we took the photo. What you see is just a small portion of the actual serving size. So I pulled in, parked, walked in and the restaurant was cleaned with a beautiful bar. I ordered 3 items: 1) Beef empanadas 2) Cuban sandwich 3) Buffalo wings. As the appetizers arrive to the table, though I only chose one empanada out of the three flavors they offer: cheese, beef or chicken. I chose beef which was served with a special sauce (mayo and ketchup), because it was well seasoned and the filling was packed, the sauce wasn't needed. The crust was thin, flaky and delicious on its own. The buffalo wings served their homemade ranch, with 8 pieces were juicy, tender and delicious. Unfortunately the Cuban sandwich fell flat for me. The ingredients were ham, cheese, roasted pork, pickles, mayonnaise and mustard. The sandwich was flattened like a panini and I was excited for the first bite but the protein was too dry. As I lift the bread, there was only a teaspoon mayo and mustard spread. It was served with matchstick fries and a ramekin of ketchup. I wanted to ordered desserts but unfortunately they do not make all of their homemade desserts (flan, tres leches, rice pudding) every day. You will have to called in to see what they have before dining in. The only dessert available that day was their flan. My server Karla was friendly and attentive. I would make another visit to try other items on their menu.
