My friend and I ordered two Abuelo's Favorite Plate and the rice and peas were proportioned, the shredded pork succulent and the ripe plantain sweet and delicious. We topped our order off with two guava and sweet cream pastelillos - pastry nice and flaky and the filling just the right sweetness to end this delicious meal on! Thank you Que Rico for a meal reminiscent of my childhood Sunday dinners!

Pretty good food if you have a craving for Puerto Rican food…read more The Pastelillos were delish. I ordered a ground beef and a chicken with cheese. They were crispy, good amount of filling and nice flavor overall. Fantastic. I think they should serve the meal with a bit more rice. The Pernil, pulled pork was sort of dry and unfortunately the large side of garilc mojo sauce (garlic oil) was sideways in the bag and by time I got it home, the oil had all leaked out into the paper bag and onto the floor mat inside my car. The mofongo bites listed as 5 bites, however I only received 4. They were on the sweet side. The masa from the plantain taste too ripe for my liking. I prefer more green plantains in my mofongo. The tostones were pretty good. The pictures made them look a bit larger, but oh well. This was my first time ordering from a ghost kitchen, and the concept is a brilliant idea because you can order from so many cuisines! You can try so many restaurants in one place. Quite amazing.

It's quite rare to see a sit-down Puerto Rican spot around here (I've mostly only had food truck…read moreversions across the country). I'm happy to have found Sofrito! The place is nicely decorated and spotless, and the staff were friendly throughout. While I don't claim to be an expert in Puerto Rican food, overall the flavors were excellent. We started with the empanadillas, which were crispy and hot. The canoas were also delicious. The plantains were perfectly ripe and sweet, and the meat filling was flavorful and provided a nice savory balance. For entrees, we all went with combo plates. Each comes with pickled onions and a small side salad (kind of like a pico de gallo), plus your choice of rice, like white rice, tostones, maduros, or seasoned rice like arroz mamposteao or arroz con gandules. The pollo was moist with a really nice aromatic seasoning on top. The pernil asado was tender with crispy skin. The bistec encebollado was my favorite. The beef was very tender, tangy from the vinegar marinade (it actually reminded me a bit of Filipino adobo), and full of flavor. Both seasoned rice options were yummy, though we all slightly preferred the arroz mamposteao as it was a bit more flavorful. We finished with flan de queso, which tasted fresh and wasn't overly sweet. Street parking was easy even on a Saturday evening. I'd go there all the time if I lived nearby!

There was parking right out front. Beautiful interior. Top notch service. The gentleman who served us helped me decide on which Mofongo to try. I don't think anything could have hit the spot better. We thoroughly enjoyed every dish and only wish we would have saved room for dessert.

It was our first time here and we couldn't decide what we wanted. After drooling over the plates that went by, we asked the owner to help us narrow down our options. We landed on the Chicharron Sampler for an appetizer. For our main courses, we had the Bandeja Paisa and the Paella Caribena. We were also eyeing the Dominican-style beef stew and the Sancocho Soup. We asked for a sample of the Sancocho soup and that's when we found out they make everything to order - including the soup! His wife went into the kitchen and whipped up a sample of the soup ... we didn't mind the wait for the sample as we knew she was working her magic! It did not disappoint. We ordered a large soup to go! It'll be cold later this week and this will be perfect in the rainy weather. This place reminds me of home - the way my mother cooks ... the flavors are developed and everything was cooked to perfection. I did a little dance in my chair with each bite! The portions were large - we'll have left overs for the next several days! And I CANNOT wait! We're looking forward to coming back and trying something new! PHOTO DISCLOSURE: We dove into the Chicharron Sampler before we took the photo. What you see is just a small portion of the actual serving size. Also, the photo of the soup was the made from scratch made to order sample of the Sancocho soup.

So I pulled in, parked, walked in and the restaurant was cleaned with a beautiful bar. I ordered 3 items: 1) Beef empanadas 2) Cuban sandwich 3) Buffalo wings. As the appetizers arrive to the table, though I only chose one empanada out of the three flavors they offer: cheese, beef or chicken. I chose beef which was served with a special sauce (mayo and ketchup), because it was well seasoned and the filling was packed, the sauce wasn't needed. The crust was thin, flaky and delicious on its own. The buffalo wings served their homemade ranch, with 8 pieces were juicy, tender and delicious. Unfortunately the Cuban sandwich fell flat for me. The ingredients were ham, cheese, roasted pork, pickles, mayonnaise and mustard. The sandwich was flattened like a panini and I was excited for the first bite but the protein was too dry. As I lift the bread, there was only a teaspoon mayo and mustard spread. It was served with matchstick fries and a ramekin of ketchup. I wanted to ordered desserts but unfortunately they do not make all of their homemade desserts (flan, tres leches, rice pudding) every day. You will have to called in to see what they have before dining in. The only dessert available that day was their flan. My server Karla was friendly and attentive. I would make another visit to try other items on their menu.
