Pretty good food if you have a craving for Puerto Rican food. The Pastelillos were delish. I ordered a ground beef and a chicken with cheese. They were crispy, good amount of filling and nice flavor overall. Fantastic. I think they should serve the meal with a bit more rice. The Pernil, pulled pork was sort of dry and unfortunately the large side of garilc mojo sauce (garlic oil) was sideways in the bag and by time I got it home, the oil had all leaked out into the paper bag and onto the floor mat inside my car. The mofongo bites listed as 5 bites, however I only received 4. They were on the sweet side. The masa from the plantain taste too ripe for my liking. I prefer more green plantains in my mofongo. The tostones were pretty good. The pictures made them look a bit larger, but oh well. As a Boricua in the DMV I was looking forward to trying this place thanks to Tik Tok. Its a ghost kitchen and you go to an IPad to order and a locker to pick up. I was not too hungry so I ordered pastellitos and mofongo bites. Pastilitos were a little disappointing. They were long and flat and not stuffed with a lot of meat. I agree with another yelper that the oil was old. Although the filling (ground beef) was decent. The mofongo bite was not good. I went with Que Rico, with Puerto Rican inspired cuisine. I ordered grandmas favorite or Abuelas Favorito which was rice with ham and grilled chicken. You get 2 options. I opted for red beans and fried plantains. The rice was very tasty and the smoked ham was plentiful. The grilled chicken tasted great and has many pieces. The beans were flavorful with some potatoes. The plantains were crispy and great. The sweet bread or pan sobao, was soft, large, and reminded me of food in Puerto Rico. All the ingredients and food tasted fresh and so good. We tried a variety of dishes including the pernil, house rice with pigeon peas, house rice with chicken, chicken kabob, beef kabob, mofongo bites, and plantains. Everything had great flavor and was super satisfying. Since I don't eat pork, I skipped the pernil, but I enjoyed everything else we ordered. The mofongo bites and plantains especially stood out--perfectly cooked and seasoned. The kabobs were tender, and the rice dishes were hearty and flavorful. My only critique is that the menu doesn't offer any vegetables or salad options. I personally love having greens with every meal, so that would be a wonderful addition. My Dominican wife loves this place although I find the food dry and portions small. I believe she loves it only because it's one of the few Puerto Rican restaurants in the area to where she doesn't have to cook. It is consistently busy with patrons coming and going, so they must be doing something right. The parking lot is tiny for the number of patrons and if you find a way to drive in, you might be challenged driving out. As you enter the restaurant, you'll be puzzled for a minute and have to follow the actions of other patrons while reading the instructions on the wall. There's a huge QR code on the wall that you'll scan upon entering which takes you to a site where you'll enter your order number. This site will advise if your order is ready although the one time I had to wait, the time decremented, incremented, and then said ready. So I'm not sure how well it works. Either way, when it's ready it will ask if you're ready to pickup and advise what cubby hole to pop open to access your food. There is no interaction with the restaurant staff and most of the time you don't see them. I've had the pernil which was ok, not as good as my wife's which has more flavor. My wife agreed the tostones were dry and not flavorful which disappointed her on multiple occasions to where she put them in the air fryer at home to modify. The maduros are pretty good, sweet and flavorful. Overall, I would prefer to eat elsewhere but she enjoys this place. It's worth a try to see if it suits your tastebuds. read more

I went and picked up Abuela's Favorite Plate and Tio's Favorite Plate to try. Going there was awful as it is a ghost kitchen with a few other establishments. It was extremely crowded as it was a one way to the location and it was difficult finding parking and leaving. I ordered ahead and The only difference between Abuela's Favorite Plate and Tio's Favorite Plate was the meat. It comes with house rice, habichuelas, and tostones. This plates also comes with a garlic oil. Abuela's had chicken and Tio's had grilled beef kabob. I definitely prefer the grilled beef. The chicken was extremely dry. The grilled beef was so much better. The tostones was alright. I was able to enjoy it with the garlic sauce with it. The rice was really good. It was quickly devoured. Ordered a bunch of food for pick up. The building was hard to find because google maps directed me to the next plaza over, had to ask the gas station staff to find my way back. Parking is limited and so hard to maneuver around, and I didn't even arrive at the busiest time. Good luck if you tried to go at dinner time! It'd be worth whatever wait you may or may not have. We've ordered twice and between three people we've managed to get most of the "specials"... I am Dominican so PR food is very comparable. Don't think "stew" is actual soup. It isn't... it's more "braised" meat w. Veggies/sauce. I always order extra rice so I could eat leftovers the next day since I can't ever eat all of it. It's located in the back of the 7-11 parking lot. There is parking but be where there are a ton of pot holes and the parking is limited. Now onto the food. I ordered the pastellios sample. Three Puerto Rican empanadas. Cheese, beef, beef and cheese and Tito's plate. The empanadas were huge. They were perfectly crispy my favorite one was the beef. The "restaurant" is really a ghost kitchen - you make you order online and then go to an out of the way building behind the 7-11 to pick up your food from a locker. There were no visible employees at the front area, only ubereats drivers making pickups. I ordered an Abuelo's Favorite Plate, which came with pulled pork, rice, beans, and plantain cakes. The pulled pork was overcooked behind belief - super dry with no hint of moistness whatsoever. I could only make it palatable by dousing it with hot sauce or dipping it in the garlic sauce (which was actually pretty good - nice and vinegary). The beans were fine. The tostones (plantains) were a bit of a disappointment, because it felt like I was just eating fried cardboard. Don't bother ordering the house rice with a meat charge, because there's barely any meat in it - it's all rice. Now that I'm rereading this review, I guess it was actually pretty bad. Came here for the first time and it was interesting finding the place. They're located in the very back of a 7 eleven in a small warehouse like building. There's no sign outside that tells you this is the place, that's because this appears to be a shared kitchen with other restaurants, four in total. Well, the ordering and payment is all done online or by using a tablet ordering system located inside. Just browse through the menu, place your order and pay. Afterwards you receive a text msg. with a pickup time. They have these lockers that hold your food and when the order is ready you get it from the locker's. Very simple, totally contacless and little human interaction. I got the "titi favorite plate" with choices of rice, stewed beef and tostones. I also ordered one beef empanada just incase. The food was very good 7.8/10, it had that home cooked taste and the portion was just right. Easily for two meals if you're not greedy like me. The empanadas are mostly empty fried nothing, and the oil clearly is not changed enough - and you can taste the dirty oil, especially with a mostly empty empanadas, that is basically a fried stick - and a heartburn delivery device. And all the reviews about the bad parking lot could not be more right. It is terrible! I am Cuban and my wife is from Puerto Rico so I enjoy their cuisine which is somehow similar to ours. Que Rico food is as authentic as it can be. I have ordered almost all the items in their menu, except for desert since I do not eat items with added sugar. I live in NW DC so delivery to my building usually takes no longer than 30 minutes after placing my order through one of the delivery carriers. I have not yet tried the chicken items. The Pernil, the arroz con Gandules, La carne guisada, Las habichuelas coloradas, los pastelillos are delicious asnd the prices are reasonable. read more

The food we ordered from the catering menu and it was absolute phenomenal experience. Pollo Guisado, Pernil, maduros, tostones, pasteles. I placed the order last week, and it was ready on time for pickup. Upon my arrival they immediately wheeled out a cart, and they loaded up my truck for me ensuring it was properly loaded for transport in minutes. The cardboard packaging was excellent and properly vented, the portions were way more than anticipated with the full order trays. We had 20 people over, everyone ate a couple times and we still have food left over. I'm Cuban and my wife is Puerto Rican and we're both in agreement that the excellent taste of their food is 100% authentic Puerto Rican culture food.
