I'm not big on seafood, so finding an open alternative to seafood on the wharf on a random weekday during non-peak season was a bit of a challenge. This place basically ended up being the only real food option aside from dessert spots. I ordered barbacoa tacos and they were actually very good! I'm from Los Angeles, so I was a little hesitant to order Tacos because I didn't want to be disappointed, but I couldn't have been more wrong. They were very flavorful and the tacos were stuffed full of meat, topped with onion and cilantro with a spicy red chili salsa on the side. The service was great too, they were very friendly and my order was ready promptly. Definitely a good option while waiting for a tour.

It wasn't busy. This is located within the courtyard of Uptown. Lots of people walking, kids playing, water fountain nearby to cool down on those hot summer days. I ordered the Carne Asada Tacos. It tastes like genuine Mexican tacos and tortillas. The steak tastes good well done, even better with hot sauce. It says on the menu its on large tortilla tacos but I guess its a relative word. Looks small to me. A little on the expensive side for this reason $16 and change for three tacos. Most items on the menu is approaching the $20 price. There's plenty of patio chairs outside. This is more like a permanent stall rather than a full restaurant. Parking for the whole plaza is underground and it's free.

The warf is a cute spot to stop with multiple choices of places to eat. Great if you have a family who all want something different. Imagine food truck lot but floating. Pretty cool! Outdoor seating. You are one with the elements, so plan accordingly. I grabbed baja fish tacos and mango salmon tacos. Two of us got the two each and split them so we could taste both and it was a perfect amount.

This is the best Tacos I have had in Canada. I am a tourist in Victoria. I love Seafoods and I believe Victoria has good seafood dishes. Then I went to Fisherman's wharf. Then I tried Puerto Vallarta Amigos. I ordered Salmon Mango Tacos and they were delicious. Salmon was big. Mexican restaurants in Toronto rarely give us such a big piece of fish! It is amazing. Staff are friendly and kind. I would love to come back when I come to Victoria again.

The CUTEST restaurant on the dock of Fisherman's Wharf. I immediately fell in love with this place because of the fun colours and the inviting patio. And yes, the food lives up to the expectations too. This is an authentic Mexican restaurant, owners and workers are all Mexican, you won't get any of that "Tex-mex" stuff. Tortilla soup was alittle bit too thick for what I'm used to but still packed with flavour. I was very pleased with the enchiladas I ordered, nothing was missing any flavour for me. I can't speak for the Esquite because I have an egg allergy and it came with mayo but I did take a bite of the corn niblets and I still liked what I tasted!

What an amazing spot on the wharf! Food was fast and service was very friendly. We ordered the Baja fish tacos with side of chips& refried beans and a pop to drink. Maja fish was meaty & tasty!

Tacos were tasty rice was yummy only downfall was your beans were not homemade. But if you are in Victoria British Columbia stop and visit this little spot on the wharf cute and good.

For the price, you can't get a bigger portion of food anywhere nearby. The food is delicious too! We split their "salad with your choice of meat". It came with a salad of lettuce, tomato, onion and a green salsa dressing, refried beans, 4 corn tortillas, and we went with shredded beef. The meat was super tender and bursting with flavor. This place offers water cups for free ice water and has a nice Coke machine right outside. It's great for filling up water bottles too on a hot day. Our food came out in about 10 minutes. The restaurant is right next to a huge white tent with tons of picnic tables underneath, perfect rain or shine. Great views!! There is also indoor seating plus there is a private patio off the back of the restaurant.

    Salmon Burrito & Salmon Tacos

Ordered the Salmon Burrito and it definitely wasn't bad! I tend to like my burrito with all the fixings (beans, lettuce, grilled veggies, etc) and unfortunately their Salmon Burrito doesn't include all these things, so it wouldn't be my first choice to order a burrito but it's definitely somewhere I may opt for if I'm down in Fisherman's Wharf and wanting to grab a bite to eat while enjoying the sunshine!

Solid food at a fair price for being located in a tourist area. Good place for a quick meal if you are craving Mexican food.

I've been meaning to try it out for a while (especially after I read all the great reviews!) so walking by left me no choice but to head right in. First off, this spot has a really cool aesthetic inside. A large glass-front restaurant isn't uncommon for downtown Victoria by any means but the way that La Taquisa uses the light to highlight their bright furniture and playful colour scheme is both fun and visually pleasing. Plus, when a space looks nice, I swear the food tastes better! This time around, I went in and got 3 of the chicken tinga tacos with medium red salsa on them and it came out to less than ten dollars. When they take your order, they also get your name so that you can go take a seat and wait until they call you to come get your food. Overall, I thought that my tacos were extremely good with a taco-truck kind of feel about them. However, my friend got chicken molé with the mild verde salsa (and added guac and sour cream) and I preferred hers. Next time around I'll have to try either the baja fish tacos or burrito (since it seems to be a Yelper favourite) but all in all, I was really happy with this meal!

Came by in a group of seven during a holiday Monday for lunch. The place was empty except for us…read moreand the staff...that was fine with us. I liked the simplicity of the menu. I ordered the 5 for $11.50 deal hoping to sample 5 different flavours. This included beef, fish, chicken and pork. I think the presentation of the tacos could have been much better and was hoping the taste would make up for this. Unfortunately I found the flavours rather bland and had a very difficult time attempting to figure out which taco was which. And two in our group had intestinal issues after the meal...one of them being myself. With such a competitive market for these types of Mexican establishments in Vancouver, I guess my expectations were perhaps a little high. The 5 for $11.50 deal was good value for okay Mexican food, but we have no plans to return.
