While I was recuperating my daughters broughtn in Sunday lunch from Puerto Vallarta. We each had something delicious. I had the Fajita Taco Salad. I wanted a yummy salad and I got it. Since it was takeout I can't tell you about the restaurant itself but the food was delicious and we will try them again. The only disappointment were the chips. Margarita on the rocks, and ask for extra limes ( received lemons ) and the goblet had just come out of the dishwasher so my ice started melting but what really got me was it tasted like pure margarita mix, and so sugary it was almost undrinkable. They used to have good margaritas here so I don't know what happened. Our food came out rather quick however, I noticed the chimichanga I always order was much smaller, it was more like I got the lunch portion. The entire visit felt unwelcoming and extremely rushed to close up for the evening. As there are many Mexican restaurants out there, I definitely will not be revisiting. read more

I've literally been past this restaurant hundreds of time but had never dined here (I had a favorite Mexican restaurant so I didn't need to try another one). Tonight, we opted to try something "new" and headed to Puerto Vallarta. I now regret having passed this restaurant so many times with stopping. First off - the service was GREAT. A waiter had chips and salsa on the table before we had our coats off and a different waiter was there within minutes to take our orders. Their Happy Hour runs from 4-8P and I ordered a beer (32 oz) while the wife had their giant margarita which was truly a giant margarita. My wife said it was delicous. For dinner, I ordered their Burrito Tapito (1 steak and 1 chicken burrito) which was served with rice, a small salad, guacamole and sour cream. The two burriots were PACKED with steak and chicken -no skimping on portions. My wife order the chicken chimichanga which came with refried beans, small salad, quacamole and sour cream. Both of our entrees were excellent. And - it was amazing how fast the food came out after we placed our orders. THe food was exccellent, the service was great and I still can't believe how many times I've driven by without stopping. This is my new favorite Mexican resaurant. read more

Located in the same Plaza as Kroger this Mexican restaurant always delivers a nice meal that doesnt break the bank. The service here has been really good in the three or four times we have stopped in and today was no exception. The decor is your stereo typical mexican carved/loudly painted decor (not my favorite) but the booths are well kept and you actively see people cleaning tables after turnovers. Which is always appreciated. The server brought complementary chips and salsa and we quickly ordered a bunch of al a cart items. I got a side of refried beans a a mini chicken chimichanga and the hubby ordered a chili relleno, enchilada and tamale. All together it came to $21. Everything was excellent and we left quite full. Yuck! Triple whammy. Decided to stop by here for queso and margaritas with friends. Back to back weird and gross occurrences will keep us from returning. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat down and were welcomed with chips, salsa, and bowls. We each grabbed a bowl and realized the bowls underneath the top bowl were dirty. And not just a speck of something dirty...they were full on covered with old queso.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We flagged down our server and requested clean bowls and ordered some margaritas. After that, I went to the restroom to wash my hands. Before locking the door, a male employee barges into the women's restroom? After seeing me, he turned and closed the door behind him. After washing my hands, I returned to my table and was greeted by clean bowls and a delicious margarita. We normally have a good experience with Puerto Vallarta but tonight they sent one wrong dinner order and sent cheese sauce instead of our other dinner order. When I called them to let them know they made a mistake they said they packed the correct order (even after I read my order back to them and told them what they sent). Bland combinations of meat, rice, beans, tortillas. I got the burrito Vallarta lunch special. A smothered burrito, with ground beef. Sided with typical beans and rice, topped with iceberg lettuce. It was fine, but not very flavorful. The chips and salsa they serve you are good, and I added some guacamole which was fresh but unspectacular. Service was good. Prices are good. read more

First time here on Friday night - they weren't busy, but parking was an issue. They share with Kroger and other businesses. It appeared a lot of the parking was taken by the taekwando parents since they were all outside watching the class. I had a $10 off coupon and we decided to check it out. We were surprised there is no bar, but it is a smaller space and mostly filled with booths. Our server was great, and our food very good. I had the skinny margarita, no salt, served in a large glass and I believe was part of happy hour. It was tasty and the complimentary chips & salsa were fresh. My entree was a shrimp dish - I can't find the name of it from the menu because their website appears to be down. It was shrimp with vegetables and queso, with salad and rice. Yummy. My husband ordered the Fajitas Jalisco ($11.99). So good and a large serving! The jalisco includes chicken, steak, shrimp & chorizo along with the veggies. The chorizo provided fantastic flavor. A second plate includes rice, beans, and a little lettuce combo. I ordered the Pollo Loco. Two thin chicken breasts (pounded or sliced?) with onions, mushrooms and a cheese sauce) with rice, lettuce, sour cream, pico, & a little guacamole. I asked for hot sauce and found out they had a house-made option. Everything was so good. Each meal included a pack of three tortillas, definitely too few for the amount of food. Let's start off with free chips and salsa! Not all Mexican places offer this anymore but this place does and it was fantastic!! We ordered this on DoorDash one night and my whole family was very happy. I had the vegetarian fajitas and it came with a huge portion of veggies, refried beans and rice and all the fixins. The portion size was awesome and I had enough for my late night snack. The BF had chicken street tacos that came with seasoned rice and my daughter was very very happy with her crunchy tacos. Our food arrived hot and super fresh and everything was packaged and labeled correctly. (This kind of thing is minor but makes life so much easier). This was our first time enjoying PV but it will not be our last. Our yeah, the pricing was great too! We ordered $50 worth of food that we each were able to enjoy with leftovers for later. We had a very good meal at their location off of Sunbury Rd on the north end. However, when we went to the one in Pataskala, it was disgusting. I typically order the Chile Rellenos because if a Mexican Restaurant is worth their chops, they can make an awesome dish!!! And, I must add that even though I grew up here, I lived in Texas (8 years) and CA (30 years) and happy to be back here, I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with this location in Pataskala. I could not discern if there was even a chile in my Chile Relleno.... and when I asked for a "Cadillac" margarita the waiter pretended to "no comprendo". What I got was the same drivel served "pre-mixed". I will not be back. Food sucked, service was fair at best, and the margs should be outstanding if nothing else. read more

I am continually impressed by the quality of this place. I've been here a hand full of times now, and every time I ask myself, "why don't we come here more often?!?" The margaritas are solid, the food is delicious and the service is on par. Most recently, I ordered the Burrito Mexicano with the shredded chicken and it was everything I could have asked for. Juicy, well marinated chicken inside of a burrito smothered with their tasty cheese sauce, sour cream lettuce, tomato and guac. This of course trailed their complimentary, tasty chips and salsa. If you happen to wander in on a "taco Tuesday" you can score $1 tacos and $5.99 jumbo margs. The odd part about this place is that they serve tasty beverages, but they don't have an actual bar or bartender. Just a shelf that stocks their liquor back towards their kitchen...That being said, I will definitely make this place a more frequent stop on our rounds of local spots we enjoy. read more
