They take reservations both by phone & on their website. I would recommend making one as they do tend to get busy during dinner time, not to mention how hard it is to find parking since they're located within The Veranda. There is indoor & outdoor seating & they allow dogs in the patio area. Great food but a bit overpriced. Chips & salsa don't come free but you can order them for $3. The tacos I think are the priciest thing on the menu, $8-$10 per taco. I ordered the Tamarindo Shrimp & a side of Esquite. I enjoyed both. read more

So here is why I'm writing my review of this place as a three star rating. The atmosphere and staff are friendly and the food is decent. The price however is just not worth it. $22-$23 for a steak burrito that's pretty greased is just excessive. Wasn't even on the menu to start. $5 dollars for a coke from the bar on top is way too much. Just a small glass. I understand that it's a "fusion" restaurant but all I read was highway robbery. I'd be hesitant to come back. Food again decent but the price was just not making sense read more

Saturday date night. Our order: tacos - Baja fish, chicken al pastor, filet mignon and tamarindo shrimp; pacific bass ceviche; yoga pants and swipe right. My partner and I didn't have a reservation on a Saturday evening, and the wait time for a table for 2 was under 15min. Puesto is a place that I will happily return for happy hours only. The cocktails were the highlights of our meal - I typically don't have an affinity for tequila and tequila based drinks, but yoga pants was delightful. Given the $$$$ price, we were expecting a lot more out of the tacos. Unfortunately, they were either too bland (esp Baja fish) or too salty (esp filet mignon). Given the current situation, I will give it 4 stars to support local business and economy. It is a nice option for date night with fanciful decor and ambiance. However, your tummy and wallet may be happier at a mom-and-pop shop. read more

We went there for taco Tuesday on April 1st around 5:30 pm and food was great, but we had a terrible experience with the hosts. There were several hosts standing with empty tables with no wait but they had us wait for about 15 min because "tables need to be cleaned". Why can't we get an empty table instead? Then the two hosts who walked to our table, left the menu on the table and just walked out. I asked them where exactly are we sitting as we weren't told where to sit. The lady just said "ma am, I just put the menus there." And she continued to be chatting with her coworker. I also left but I didn't want to be rude and it was raining so my hubby convinced me to stay. What kind of host/greeter just put the menu on the table and left without talking? We always go to yard house and never had this type of disappointment. Our server was great but these hosts need more training on how to treat customers and how to be efficient. read more

My husband and I finally gave this restaurant a try while out the way shopping. The ambience is beautiful indoors and outdoors-- given the hot day, we chose to take a seat outdoors near the water before temperatures get too high. AJ was our server, he was very attentive and personable, often checking in on our needs. We ordered the chips & salsa + potato taquitos as our appetizers and opted for veggie tacos as well as steak tacos for our entrees. Everything was fresh and delicious. The food was great. I just felt like the steak plate wasn't amazing. It probably was missing some seasonings and had too much fat. Other than that, the service was amazing. Stopped by The Veranda to kill some time while my car was serviced. I didn't expect much to be open, but to my surprise it looked as though most businesses were open. I saw that while other restaurants were serving food to go, Puesto was actually seating patrons in their patio area. I decided to take my first seated restaurant dive since the pandemic at Puesto. I was put at ease once witnessing the staff sanitizing tables with care after each party departed. I was seated at an adequate distance from the other tables and was greeted by a friendly, masked server (much appreciated). I ordered the ceviche (they have two kinds) and a Paloma to wash it down. The ceviche was so different and delicious. It had passion fruit, avocado, and shrimp with a garlic oil (see pic for detailed description). Along with the chips it made for a filling, yet light lunch. I will be back to try the tacos. read more

Food: The tacos dorados de papa are always great. The salsas in particular are a great compliment. Pero los nachos de birria estaban bien pero tal vez otro tipo de queso sería mejor. There's a ton of seating inside, and everything is very spacious. Though, I do have to say it always feels incredibly empty for some reason and there's never anybody actually inside outside of a few tables, but they do have tons of takeout so perhaps that's the tradeoff. However, don't let the lack of eating patrons inside the place put you off. This taqueria offers a good variety of different options as any taqueria would offer, and many of the options have pictures and stuff with it. The service here is, kind of hit or miss. The people in the front usually aren't overly friendly, and will sometimes feel like they're just there until the clock turns work over. Sometimes they're bordering on rude as they just kind of give you an indifferent stare as you're ordering, or will just feel as if they're half listening and not even looking up. The service was a bit better when I dined in, so perhaps maybe it's just the takeout, although it's usually the same person for both. Price wise, it's certainly not going to be cheap. If you want the best bang for your buck around here, El Aguila probably won't be it as there's a plethora of taquerias in this area. Food quality wise, it's pretty good overall. There are some tasty dishes here that will certainly warrant the little bit of extra cost here compared to other places. Things that I have tried here are the burritos and the torta. The burritos here are yummy as they they will have ingredients inside the burrito that is slightly different than your cookie cutter burrito at any other place. It really does help adds layers of flavor to it that other places do not offer. However, the best part of it is indeed the fact they grill the outside of the burrito to get that nice flakiness that wrap, and makes it a oh so rewarding experience. Meat portions was okay, but wish it had more especially for the cost. The torta I got was pretty good, as the ingredients inside were pretty typical so nothing really stood out. The break was toasted well, but I do wish it was a bit softer as it may have been to toasted. Should be toasted outside and soft inside, but this one just felt toasted all over. While they are a bit expensive comparatively, the portions are actually decent (minus the meats). You can certainly be filled with just a single burrito. Worth a visit.

The masa was not too dry or too wet. The meat to masa ratio was about right. My friend liked his chile relleno. The rice was more well done than I usually prefer and needed a little more seasoning. Overall, the food was delicious, service very attentive and pricing was a bit higher than other restaurants but still fair. I plan to take the family next trip and try other dishes. For a good family meal or with friends, drop on in for good food and service. You won't be disappointed.
