Friendly, and delicious stop for a quick snack. Was surprised and happy to see they offered Basque Cheesesteak, would recommend!

I suggest to order one of their salsitas with them. My favorite is the avocado ranch. Cuban sandwich is a must and if it's your first time here I think you need to order this. They get their bread from a bakery in Tampa so it has an authentic Cuban sandwich taste and texture. My last time in I ordered the Arroz con Pollo, really enjoyed the rice is spiced or cooked in a broth that makes it very delicious. Lechón asado is also a favorite. Ropa vieja the two times we've gotten has been a little dry for our taste. Mojitos are also delicious and it's fun to end the meal with a Cuban coffee.

We arrived around 5:30 on a Friday night, were seated right away, and our food came out surprisingly quickly. There were only a few tables occupied when we arrived, but by the time we left, the restaurant was packed with only one table still open! We started with the empanadas and tried the beef & cheese and chorizo. The beef & cheese empanadas were amazing -- perfectly crispy and crunchy on the outside with a delicious filling. The chorizo wasn't our favorite because it was very greasy, and unfortunately the grease overpowered most of the other flavors. We also tried the Tostones Salsosos, which were good and much larger than we expected! For our entrées, we ordered the Tampa Cuban sandwich with yucca, and we were blown away by the size of the sandwich! It was massive, flavorful, and definitely a generous portion. The yucca on the side was good as well. But the ropa vieja was the star of the show! Every bite was packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. We added a side of Congri rice, which was also incredibly flavorful and robust and paired perfectly with it. Overall, we had a great experience. Quick service, generous portions, authentic Cuban flavors, and several dishes we would absolutely order again. The ropa vieja and beef & cheese empanadas are must-tries!

Nonetheless, Sanctuaria still pumped out some great food for us tonight. The vibes on the patio are immaculate. Peaceful, warm, intimate, and completed by artsy fountain ordained in the middle. Our server was great to chat with, although the pace was a bit slow. It seems staffing may be a contributing factor to the slight decline of this St. Louis gem. The interior was completely vacant, but outside was full. While full, not overwhelmingly busy. In any case, we waited about 10 minutes to receive water. Not a huge deal, just not the norm. I have mixed reviews on the drinks. I love old fashioneds, I love mezcal, and I love mezcal old fashioneds. So, naturally, the vape juice seemed like a walk in the park. For me, it lacked balance, and was missing sweetness. As it got diluted it was more palatable. I was just hoping for the basil to really shine through with the mezcal. The cherry me away, and honeysuckle this were both much better. Cherry me away is accurately depicted and executed. A cherry caipirinha that is equally tart as it is sweet. A crusher. Much of the same from honeysuckle this. A drink on the sweeter side with the honeysuckle taking center stage. The peppercorn garnish offers a great flavor contrast to the sweetness of the drink. As for the food, the devil bites are the clear winner. Not too spicy, crispy, and packed with flavor. You've heard of a cheese pull, but these have a pulled pork pull. I won't talk your ear off, just go order them and chew in awe. Everything else was good as well. The pork on the pinchos muronos was well marinated. The smoked paprika aioli was another favorite. Creamy, tangy, and just enough smokiness. Of course, the chicken sliders are always a smash with the sweetness of the Hawaiian rolls drawing out the saltiness of the chicken. The vaca frita was interesting. The steak was crispy which I was not prepared for. Still great, and the chimichurri was warmed which I think really elevated it. The New york strip was also good. Simply seasoned with salt and pepper. A nicely prepared steak. At the price point: a generous helping with good quality. And, the carrots are amazing. Super sweet, buttery, and tender. I would order 5 bowls of them if I could and if my heart could handle it. All in all, a phenomenal date night spot especially on the patio. The present drink program is pretty good, although I think past programs have exceeded this one. And of course, the extensive tapas menu has no misses. Great for happy hours, celebrations, or a last minute date night!

But it's all good and we all smile through. Took my brother Sunday night while he was in town cause he lives in a less diverse area and craves city access to all the thing. As soon as he said let's get Jamaican I began craving a meat pie. Have mercy I love them! They ain't playing with the spice either so I keep drinks handy. Ended up ordering one meat pie and a bowl of the soup of the day. It was red bean soup he said. But wow the depth of flavors and textures, it should get a better name! Love it and happily ate it all! The meat pie took longer of course to come out and they weren't kidding it was hot! Loved it and shared a tiny bite (cut off) with bro whose eyebrows lifted in joy. He had the jerk chicken plate and ate every dang bit! I have had wings, goat curry, jerk chicken, curry chicken, rum punch and lots more on other visits and had always left happy & full. The folks who work here are good folks and enjoy seeing others enjoy the food they prepare. On nice days there are a few tables out front, good to sit there except at rush hour cause you are next to the street. They do a lot of to go service so you will see a steady stream of folks in and out.

At first I really couldn't decide what to get from the menu, but settled on a rice bowl along with some appetizers (fries, tostones) and other people got the gumbo and donuts. The rice bowl I got was the soy ginger tofu, which was the right combo between the 2 flavor profiles. The tostones were maduros, which was confusing at first, but still delicious - although we got the toppings on the side and I'm glad because we didn't really like them. The fries will on the toppings were delicious and luckily not soggy via delivery. All in all, good meal, need to try it fresh next time!

I also tried their Vietnamese coffee. This second visit, I got their chicken pho to try. The shrimp po mi had good flavours, a nice mix of crispy shrimp and fresh toppings on a soft baguette. It had good texture although it didn't completely wow me but it's solid and satisfying. The funky monkey fries were a fun addition, loaded and flavourful. Portion was good for sharing. The Vietnamese coffee wasn't as strong as I was expecting, I would not really get it from this place which is understandable since it's more for food than the drinks. Lastly, the chicken pho had a clean, light broth that was comforting without being too heavy or salty. The portion size was just right for a full meal. Service was pretty quick and there's plenty of seating inside and outside as well. Good experience and would definitely come back and try the other dishes next time I'm around the area.

I walked in and decided bar seating looked best so I could watch tv. I was immediately given water, menus, and some time to decide. I was craving something sweet, so I got some passion fruit juice and decided on the steak bowl with arroz con gandules as my entree. The dish comes with steak, black beans, pico, white rice, jack cheese, and maduros. I think most dishes can be customized, but rest assured they're nothing short of flavor! Since I was one of few people, my dish came out rather quickly. The steak was tender and flavorful; the rice was seasoned perfectly and the maduros were fried to perfection. Everything was even better than I imagined. The server/bartender did a great job at keeping my water refilled and making sure I didn't needed anything. I was quite pleased with the food and service overall and I look forward to my return visit.

All the food was really good. The Nutella empanadas were stand outs. The other empanadas were good but a little greasy I think because I ordered the corn. Maybe the flour ones are not so greasy??? They have a fair amount of indoor seating without the tables being too close. Also there is an outdoor patio which is where we sat. Might be better to be under the awning so no rascally bird puts a deposit on your food. (It barely missed the the Nutella empanadas) I can't wait to go back to try more menu items.
