We've tried many different programs and instructors, and my daughter just hasn't "taken" to the water. In comes Addie, and after a couple of months with her patience and kindness, I now have a swimmer. In addition, the entry to the facility always looks really clean and tidy. So basically I have been told that if I would have contacted them before the 25th of the month, they could have refunded the membership fee but not that we are past it nothing can happen. If ever I would like to sign up again, I would still have to pay $200. This seems like a rip off and my kid come here for his classes and I come here for my beginner classes as well. Seems like it doesn't matter about customer satisfaction for them. They will Include any rule to make sure they are getting the money. Again, I like individuals here. But as business they definitely suck. I would not recommend being a member here cause as long as you are remember, you are fine but other than that it's a loss of money for you. Many would argue that I should have read terms and condition (which is in benefits to the club) but circumstances arise where you are an advocate to yourself. Be careful to becoming their member because it is a rip off, you may not know it just yet.

I asked why she would need a confirmation if I have never attended the swim lessons. There was no record on file that I ever messaged about cancelling classes. Although , I requested Mia to cancel in June 28th.  They stated that they will "try to process a payment within 24-48hrs" if Mia agrees that I called to cancel my classes. LA fitness & this company that works together has terrible communication with its clients. There's no record keeping of information and conversation.Few hour after I got off the phone with the manager. Mia calls me to ask me "what is my story " I stated that I would like a refund and that I messaged her several times about my refund. I have called customer service and they assured me that they are working on a refund. She stated that she will work on refunding July payment but she will have to confirm Junes payment first. I explained again that I have never attended swim lessons and I am no longer interested. I would like a refund.I have called my bank to dispute the charges.I will update this review if they do refund ..I would like to advise STAY AWAY from this business. The instructors switched out constantly and although they seemed to be nice people, none of them were effective at actually teaching children how to swim. If you want a small area of a pool for your child to get used to the water, sure spend your money here; though you also could just swim around with them yourself for free. If you want your child to actually learn any basics about swimming, let alone actually swim, look elsewhere.

As an adult, I was…read moreone of those people who wouldn't even put their face in the water and now I can confidently hang out in the deep end and even go snorkeling in open water, something I wouldn't have considered a couple years ago. Yes, the classes are more expensive than most courses, but you spend a lot of time in the water with each class and you get individual attention with the small class sizes. Not to mention that being in a class with other students who were as petrified as I was made me feel like I wasn't alone. You also get a nice warm pool so you don't have to worry about staying warm and can just have fun. These courses are for true beginning students. Instead of focusing on strokes, they focus on being comfortable in the water no matter what you are doing. I tried several classes around the area before these and the instructors would dive right into teaching us the strokes and only had 30 minute class times. That's fine if you swam as a child and want a refresher, but didn't work for me as someone who had avoided water all of my life. Orca Swim classes were completely worth the money! I have no regrets and have since taken additional classes here or just gone back to enjoy the warm pool. As a note: This is one of two locations in the area -- the other is in Seattle. I've been to both and would recommend you use whichever one works with your schedule and your commute. I cant believe how unprofessional and how a business is legally operated out of that place. "This is a private indoor pool with many outdoor features like beautiful plants that surround the deck. The pool has both shallow and deep water, it also features a small hot tub. The water temperature in the pool is a consistent 90 degrees. Our classes are exclusive to this pool." Pros: 1) Importantly, the teacher was amazing with kids Cons: 1) The facility/pool looked horrendous. The floors around the pool, the bathrooms were filthy. The random chairs, some dirty , some clean, lack thereof etc... 2) Hot tub? it looked like a hot mess with junk toys and leaves at the bottom of it. 3) Parking situation is a nightmare. The staff are super friendly at the front desk and the couple swim instructors that have taught my kids are wonderful and patient.

Two of our children have progressed through the Junior program (skipping Mini) and into Glider, with one of them completing the next level (Pro), while our youngest is just getting started. The results over the past six months have been impressive. Our older two have gone from being apprehensive in the water to genuinely enjoying swimming. Both are now able to swim independently with appropriate supervision, and our oldest (10) is arguably the best pool swimmer in our family. What really stands out isn't just the progress--it's Goldfish's approach to teaching. The instructor-to-student ratio is excellent, with one instructor for every two or three kids being the norm (occasionally four, but never feeling crowded). There are also multiple lifeguards on duty--roughly one for every three lanes--which gives parents a great deal of confidence. The instructors are patient, encouraging, and focused on helping kids become comfortable in the water rather than simply checking off skills. The skill evaluations are another strength. When it's time to test for the next level, each child receives one-on-one attention from an instructor, making the process feel thorough and encouraging rather than rushed. One of the things Goldfish does especially well is celebrate progress, not just outcomes. Kids who pass a level get to ring the celebration bell, giving them a real sense of pride and accomplishment. Even on days when they aren't testing--or don't quite advance yet--instructors recognize individual achievements with ribbons for things like learning a new skill or simply being brave in the water. It's a thoughtful approach that keeps kids motivated and reinforces that building confidence is just as important as mastering the next technique. The facility itself is very good. It's a glass-free facility with a comfortable viewing area where parents can clearly watch every lesson. The building is well lit, with good temperature control--warm on the pool deck while still comfortable in the seating area. There are convenient showers right next to the pool, spacious changing rooms with hair dryers and getting-ready areas, an easy electronic check-in system, and a fun snack counter with inexpensive treats so kids can buy something themselves after class. One thing to know before you enroll is that Goldfish is purpose-built as a swim lesson facility. If you're looking for water slides, splash features, or a recreational pool experience like McMenamins or the Snohomish Aquatic Center, this isn't that. Every aspect of the facility is designed around teaching children to swim safely, efficiently, and confidently. Parking at Mill Creek Town Center is generally good, although it can get busy during peak times. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the cost and conditions of the make-up tokens. Enrolling multiple children is a significant investment, but in our experience the quality of instruction, the emphasis on safety, and--most importantly--the confidence our kids have gained in the water have made it well worth it. That said $43 a session for 30 minutes is on the high side. If you miss a class, you receive a make-up token that can be used later. While this has worked well for our family and is helpful, you do need to know is the tokens can accumulate over time, because you must remain enrolled to redeem them--you can't cancel or postpone lessons and fund off make up tokens. Overall, Goldfish has created a well-organized, safety-focused environment that inspires confidence in both kids and parents. More importantly, they've helped transform swimming from something our kids were nervous about into something they genuinely enjoy. After using Snohomish Aquatic Center, McMenamins, and Kingsgate, we'd recommend Goldfish to other families looking for a lesson-focused program for kids on the younger side (Ages 3-9). -AC
