They're patient and take the time to teach important techniques - my daughter, on the other hand, gets easily distracted and it can be hard for her to focus and listen to directions. The woman who we learned was Kaylie was standing around on her phone that whole time until she came over and started the lesson late. We filled out your intake forms sharing information about swimming background and goals, but it didn't seem like Kaylie read them, so we rushed to share experience and goals while the student was getting in the water. The lesson itself didn't cover anything new for the student. Kaylie then rushed to end the lesson on time, despite starting over a few minutes late, which is significant for a single 15 minute lesson. The student didn't learn anything and was rushed out of the pool. We understand it was our first time, but feeling stressed about our lesson was starting late and getting shorter than the 15 minutes we paid for was very frustrating. We had similar negative experiences on subsequent attempts to give this place a shot. Do not recommend, especially not Kaylie McRea.

The teachers take a lot of pride and invest a lot of time and energy and thought into what they do with each child. There is a lot of child psychology that goes into teaching young kids how to swim, and I don't think that is addressed in most other programs which really sets apart SwimGuru. While they are only 15 minutes long, I do believe the kids get a lot more out of the short lessons with focused attention than a 30 minute group lesson. Because of the pandemic, my two children didn't get to continue their swim lessons and were 5 and 7 without knowing how to swim. I found Swim Guru and it has made all the difference. Group lessons just were not working for my kids - even before the pandemic. They really made no gains in a group setting. With SwimGuru my kids made incredibly rapid gains and are now both swimming! The swim test once they pass basic skills is also an important step that most swim places don't bother with. My kids were originally so scared of the water and very quickly became comfortable and then confident and joyful under the calm, competent coaching. We've worked with coach Helen and coach Molly - both of whom are wonderful. Every single coach is great and so are all the pool locations. Thank you SO much for teaching my kids to swim, helping them gain an important safety-oriented life skill and giving me peace of mind.

We have been coming to this facility for five months (8yo & 14yo) and have seen very little progress. 1. Low Value and Inexperienced Staff: Paying $150 per month for short 15-minute lessons is far too expensive for the quality of service provided. The instructors do not appear experienced, and the short duration is simply not enough time for real skill development. 2. Constant Instructor Turnover Disrupts Learning: We experience frequent instructor changes, sometimes on a weekly basis. Because of this high turnover, the children struggle to get comfortable and have a difficult time adjusting to different teaching styles. This constant switching causes children to struggle with basic instructions and slows down their learning pace immensely. It feels like focus is on cycling through as many students as possible, rather than focusing on actual student progress and ensuring the kids get enough quality instruction. 3. Dismissive Management: My interactions with Daniel, the owner, were the most disappointing part of our overall experience. When I approached him for a conversation, his demeanor was dismissive and disrespectful. Instead of listening to a customer, he used his authority as the owner to shut down the dialogue entirely.
