The most at peace I have ever felt was when I was doing the steps. I went for a year and only got to level two but in doing so let go of so much. Meditation isn't something you can set aside and pick up whenever you feel bad. Your brain is a muscle and needs exercise or it will return back to the state it was before you started meditating. This is where I am now. If I had the means to go back and start again I would. It is a game changer.

The Trap Lab is a boutique, Black-woman-owned fitness and wellness studio. Founded by sisters Icea Pettigrew (aka Coach Toni) and Sharde Bullard, it serves as a culturally relevant, judgment-free space prioritizing physical, mental, and emotional wellness. Annnddddd....they JUST moved into their new bigger space!! Ive tried to be consistent and attend their Soulful Serenity Mimosa and Meditation event that happens every last Sunday of the month. No matter how crazy, overwhelmed, or tired we are, we always put extra effort to attend this event guided by Tawanna. A little stretching, a little meditation, a little sound bowl action...With 2026 being as crazy as it has been...I absolutely feel a difference. They have several other fitness classes. The new space is nice and large and can also host events. I saw a karaoke event being advertised....and even an intentional step walk club every 830am Saturday during the summer.
