Pugon is a Filipino dessert shop offering fresh breads and sweets. The service is great, tried the ube pandesal. A note: since the breads are fresh, it's best to eat them within a day or two. On the third day, the pandesal showed mold, but that's actually normal because the bread doesn't contain artificial ingredients to extend the shelf life like most bread in the grocery stores, which is a plus if you ask me! Ambiance - bakery feel!

Came here looking for authentic filipino desserts, pastries and snacks. They definitely have a good assortment of these. The place though is extremely small. There was only 1 family infront of us when we got there. By the time we paid and got what we ordered their was a line of about 5 families waiting to place their orders. Lady working the register was super nice but completely overwhelmed and didn't seem like she knew what she was doing..... The snacks and pastries and desserts were all really good and authentic. Premium pricing. Slow service, but friendly though.

I have discovered a Filipino Dessert Heaven. My first glance at this Yelp business and I knew we were going to make a stop. Lucky for us, we were just down the street. The car just steered itself into the nearest parking spot, and then my usually wobbly Filipino husband took off in a gallop and cleared the curb with ease. That's what good childhood memories do to an old man. Cassava cake. Seriously, one of the best I've ever had. Not too sweet, this is a sticky rice cake with a beautiful coconut flavor. And better yet, an insanely fabulous, rich custard layer (that is typically slightly blistered and burnt) was on top. I am so sad I only got one serving, but who knew? You can buy it by the piece, but you can buy a whole one. Next time, it's a whole one for me, and I promise to share. Maybe. And then there were the garlic peanuts. The peanuts were plump, perfectly roasted, salted, and combined with a generous amount of crispy garlic slivers. I figure I will be vampire-proofed for the next year. But I cannot wipe the smile off my face. These are so addictive! Get the big container. I did, shared it with my Filipino DIL, and ended up wishing I had purchased two. We did buy some other things, like a beautifully deep purple Ube cake, dried mangos, and two types of Turon. Turon looks like a fried Chinese eggroll or Filipino lumpia, but is sweet, both from the filling and the glaze, and is quite special. These were filled with either plantain, or with plantain and ube. Unfortunately, we did not taste any of these, they were given away as a gift to the DIL, so for now, it's just a hint of what you can look forward to. They also had some beautiful, frozen coconut and/or ube desserts that looked quite tempting. Something to try for another day when we are able to either rush them home to our freezer or eat them on the spot. I am looking into my handy dandy crystal ball and what I see makes me happy... I can count on frequent visits. Of course it sure helps that my husband has been obsessed by the peanuts and the Cassava (ok, me too), so it's inarguable. This is the best of the best.

Wanted something sweet, so I came here! Walked it, and it's super clean. Was welcomed We thought the overloads were actual drinks. My mom got the ube over load, and it was just chunks of ube that was hard to smash. The halaya was old super hard to mix in. Was stuck on the cup. She said it wasn't too sweet but just hard to eat. The avocado overload was okay. I just didn't like how the avocado was old. Some were hard and not ripe. Super hard to chew. Some of them were browning already. It just tasted funny I couldn't even finish it. I've ordered from them before and I loved there baked goods but the overloads not so much.

Temperature was 100 degrees outside and I remembered somebody told me there was a Filipino bakery in the area. I wanted a halo halo and of course they had it, along with other cold drinks I'm going to try next time I come. And I will definitely be back since it's the only one close by my neighborhood. I tried their Halo and it was delicious. It had all the usual ingredients , and I'm guessing they sprinkled it with green rice crispies looking thing , I'm guessing it was Pandan.. that was the only thing different but it was good and gave the drink more color for the pics lol Now that I've been this spot, I know know what they have. From pan De Sal to ube cakes and crinkles. They got it here and it's within my reach. This part of Ontario is lacking with food and this is a good addition to the area. Service here is great, the man behind the counter whipped up my halo quick! There are a couple of tables to sit , place looked very clean and the A/C is at a nice temperature. Like I said , I will definitely will be back in the near future .

TLDR; Pastries were okay, service was slow, and no labels or pricing on any of the desserts. Location has no sign of the restaurant name, it is posted on the door so a bit hard to find. -- Service took really long for someone to assist me upon entering, but the lady was really kind in helping me pack my silvanas which I selected an assortment of 6 (2 pandan, 1 jackfruit, 1 mango, 1 ube, and 1 original). Silvanas were a bit disappointing as I couldn't taste any of the flavors and it was missing that creamy, chewy, and flavorful bites I have tasted with other silvanas. Basically tasted like a macaron with powder; one of the silvanas was also crunchy to bite which tasted a bit over baked compared to the other ones which had a chewy element. The store was clean and they had a variety of pastries but I had no idea what the desserts were since there were no price signs nor labels. The cashier took a really long time to come out from packing my silvanas in the back so I couldn't ask her what everything in the store was since there was another woman waiting in line by the time she finally came out. I ended up getting the rice cakes with salted egg and cheese. It tasted decent, but not worth basically $1/each. Rice cakes were a bit dry and I still couldn't taste the pandan nor ube flavor. They looked really cute but was missing something.

Passed by Pugon today and i Decided to give Pugon another try, cus the ube ensaymada was my favorite when i first tried them. Unfortunately they dont have it today, but a very pleasant worker was very welcoming and has great recommendations. 5 star is for him. I didnt get his name tho. Found this cute Filipino bakery and was super happy to find ube crinkle cookies that tasted just like the ones I had in Hawaii. I will definitely be back to get more of these. The spanish rolls are really good too. The chocolate chip cookies looked delicious but it was a bit of a miss for me because I felt like it just needed more chocolate based on the thickness of the cookie. The texture is more like cake/bread/cookie. It's good but it could be better but that's just my opinion. Overall, this is a good find and I will be back to try all the other goodies.

I wanted to try this place since I seen some of their stuff on social media. I drove over an hour to this place. It was a little disappointing because what was available and for sale looked a little different from what is on social media. Not all items are available and some do not look fresh. Kutsinta is my fave but the ones they had already had white mold growing on it. Some other items like the pandesal or bread items felt hard so they may have been old. I tried the Ube Flan Mini Cupcake and the flan and cupcake was too hard. I could not eat it. It was a waste of money. The variety of items is ok but I wish they were more fresh and available for immediate purchase like other bakeries.

I happened to come across this cute little dessert stand while shopping at Ontario Mills, and instantly I was drawn to the bright colors and tasty looking desserts. Most of the items on the cart were traditional Filipino desserts (turon, silvanas, ube crinkle cookies, etc.) but they also offered cupcakes and macarons. After debating with myself and ultimately talking myself into buying something, I went with some macarons and a slice of their silvana. Prices were on the cheaper side, which was a pleasant surprise. I know that sometimes they'll restock their desserts throughout the day, but you'll never know what they're guaranteed to have. Several times I came too late and they only had sets (instead of individual pieces) of their silvanas and sans rival desserts left. Macarons were really nice - they did crumble a bit in the bag, but the shells had a good crumble which eventually settled into a decent bite when eating it with the filling. I liked that I could distinguish the three various macarons from one another. My favorite was probably the almond - light and fragrant with the right amount of sweetness. I believe I also got ube and pandan, although those were not as memorable. Flavors were good and not too sweet. And I was super impressed by the light streak of edible gold paint on the macaron to give the dessert a little embellishment. My favorite dessert had to be the sans rival. I think each individual slice was under $3 and I got a pretty hefty dessert that lasted me several days because of the richness of each bite. There are layers of buttercream, meringue, and chopped up cashews that form this decadent dessert. I think I really enjoyed this because of the overwhelming sweetness and creaminess from the buttercream. It kind of tasted like I was eating a solid block of sweet cream butter with added textures and taste from the meringue and cashews. If you eat it when it's just out of the fridge or freezer, that's when it's the best because of the slight chew that almost makes the dessert taste like a type of fudge. It's super delicious and I would definitely come back to get some more - when I feel the need to indulge. Besides smaller individual pieces, they sometimes sell a smaller, mini piece for a fairly cheap price if you just want a little snack to munch on. I've had my eye on the ube flan cupcakes, but I also see a ton of cake pops, flan, etc. If you are in the area, highly recommend you stop by to give their sweet desserts a try! Workers are pretty friendly and always want to help answer any questions you might have. They're located right by the food court area across from Nike. read more

Pugon Pastries located at Grove Ave in Ontario (close to Lowes) - We've tried various goodies these past couple of weeks (Nov,Dec2023)- nilupak, chocobutternut crinkles, kalamay, ube turon, cassava cake, pichi pichi, ensaymada. Everything was delicious! My favorites are pichi pichi, cassava and kalamay. In addition to that, the customer service was exceptional. Jackie and Jeff were very helpful. There is sooo many delicious filipino desserts/pastries/cookies to chose from. Of course I havent had the chance to try them all. I've only tried the Silvanas and halo halo and let me tell you, both did not disappoint!! Their halo halo is socal's #1- MUST TRY! The owners are both so friendly and patient and will take the time to explain if you have any questions. Right now there's only one small table and 2 chairs for seating but the owner told me that they are waiting for clearance from the fire department to be able to start adding more tables/chairs for more seating! Very organized and clean inside. All the desserts are fresh and you can definitely taste that. The service was heart warmth and you can see how proud the owners are with their product. This was our first visit and it's not going to be our last. We tried 2 out of three so far and they're delicious!! So much to love here! Everything they make is carefully and meticulously crafted! We go for their Silvanas, Leche Flan (oh so smooth!), Turon (better than the famous one from West Covina ;) in my opinion) and their Avocado overload ! For special occasions, consider cakes from them, you won't regret it! One visit will not be enough to try all they have... so will be back again and again and again... read more

Recently went to enjoy Filipino bakery. When arrive all products not labeled.... Pricey and UBE with cream cheese is really hard cheese. Also you only get a bag of 6 EA. ($7.00). Plus lady came from back with no customary greetings. She looked at you like this was the only place to purchase Filipino bakery. But it is not! We support Filipino stores/ restaurants/ bakeries. This is one of the very few places I know of that serves Filipino deserts and snacks. Some of my co workers are from the Philippines so I came here to buy some snacks and bring them to worl for them to enjoy. The lady that has been there every time is very sweet and provides excellent service. The shop is small but offers a wide variety of sweets. Took a chance and ordered customized cake from Purple and Pink Frostings. I was thinking, if their silvanas are bomb, their red velvet cake must be good too. And boy was I right! The decoration was on point. The cake was moist and not overly sweet. The price point couldn't be more reasonable. Heeeeyyyyy. This kiosk is located inside Ontario Mills directly across from H&M/Game Stop in the food court section. They have a lot of filipino dessert and goodies like cassava cake, toasted pastillas, banana chips, popcorn, calamansi juice, ube/buko pandas cake and macaroons, ice candy and more. If you LOVE ube and I mean LOVE LOVE UBE -- get the Ube Overload drink. It iincludes ube halaya, lechera, Custard milk, shaved ice, ube icecream and pinipig. SO SO good. An Ube lover's dream. Sweetness is good to share with 2 people; best enjoyed mixed well and with a spoon (I requested it without Sago) Now... I wish EVERYTHING was labeled. I didn't know what anything was and had to ask for clarification..... which wasn't really helpful since the cashier, although nice, isn't very familiar with the ingredients or names at all. I think once they do that, WITH the prices listed and a menu of some sort, they could easily go up to 4 stars. ***this is a big miss*** esp for customers who aren't fluently familiar with filipino desserts. read more

Omg I'm so excited that a Filipino dessert place opened near home!!! I'm so happy! They are open and right next to the Hawaiian restaurant but name is still under construction. I would highly recommend this place. We tried a bunch of their items and they are so delicious. The mango ice candy is from real MANGOES!! And the customer service is the best! Iggy and the owner are amazing with the best customer service. They are so patient and explains everything they offer in their store. Seriously, I'm just too excited they are here! We got a few flans from this place for Christmas and we are still talking about how good they were! This is our new go to place for flans! We were worried they wouldn't have availability because we were ordering late but they did and were so helpful. I love sweets & I was badly craving sylvanas. I used to order them online from a bakery in SF. I am so glad I found this place. Thanks to my fiance for driving from LA all the way to Ontario. It was definitely worth the drive. The Sylvanas is so yummy, I love cashews & the size is perfect. I also love the crinckles they are soft & chewy. It's addicting & I couldn't stop eating them. Lovee the ice candy it's a great treat to have in this hot weather. I also love the cupcake with flan. I loveeeee all of the goodies that we got & I enjoyed every bite. So I love Ube and I love Pandan so when I saw this place on yelp, I instantly wanted to find it! As other reviews have stated this is a cart in front of Game Stop in the food court of the Ontario Mills. So upon arriving it was a little confusing nothing was really labeled and I didn't know what each pastry was. I got a little bit of everything, and I honestly have to say nothing blew me away. I was super excited for Pandan and the Pandan crispies were more sweet than Pandan flavored. I didn't even eat the ube crispies. I got the ube flan cupcakes and the flan part was soo thick. Flan, in my opinion is a little lighter, this was like a solid jello consistency. I don't know, maybe someone else can comment on this?? I don't remember the names of the other things I got but one thing was literally layers of butter? When the guy said that I thought he was exaggerating but no it literally was butter... it was kinda gross to be honest. No offense to the culture behind the dessert but my friends and i were overwhelmed with the butter, we should have done the research beforehand, or maybe there should have been a warning lol The second square shaped pastry that came in different colors had the butter filling which was less, overwhelming but still strange. The last thing I got was the creme brulee, which was fine in flavor, but like the flan, it was really thick. read more

A pleasant new addition to Ontario Mills. You can find the cart just outside of H&M near the food court. Purple and Pink Frostings' name hints at desserts but the name doesn't reveal how delicious they are. I purchased and enjoyed 2 ube crinkle cookies for less than $2!! The cookies were moist with the most pleasant light ube flavor and the perfect amount of sweetness. I hope to try their other offerings on my next visit especially if all their prices are so reasonable. The young ladies running the cart seemed to be new to retail and were getting the hang of ringing up customers but this was all done with a smile. 2.5 Stars! Hit OR miss! Tried their Shomai - 6 small shomai, 2 teeny-weeny sauces (soy and chili), and HALF Calamansi ?!?! Supposedly, will suffice for all 6 pieces? But then again, they're small shomai (pricey as well). Otherwise, their baked goods are good. Sans Rival The plain Pandesal, pricey - $3.50 for 6 pieces!!! I made my own Pandesal the next day Lol. The Ube Cheese Pandesal- Sure, I'll pay the $3.50. Kids liked it. The Ginatan Halo-Halo used to have more stuff in it before they opened their store, now 2/3 of the container is sweetened coconut milk and price went up/quality went down. It's no longer worth the price. I now make my own big batch, sweetened with Splenda. The young man serving was very polite and called everyone Ateh or Kuya (preferred by many), instead of Tita or Tito ‍ Although, he mislabeled my order as something else. When I called, i was told they reused their packaging (say what!?!?!) Ambiance? Place is still under construction, ladder laying on the floor; place can use some decor to make it more cozy and inviting. Hopefully, they'll get better. read more

This place is fairly new that has a variety of Philippino desserts. I have brought the cassava cake to a gathering and people were loving it because it creamy and not too overly sweet. The cupcake which they call it "Puto" is these soft cake that is moist with no fillings or frosting on top. It has a little piece of cream cheese at top. I have a sample the Silvana. It was nutty with cashews. It was excellent eating cold. Kinda a little like ice cream sandwich and nutty layer Napoleon. Overall, great desserts. read more

I almost walked right past this kiosk at Ontario Mills when a package of Chocnut caught my eye. "WAIT!" I called to my companion. My eyes grew wide as I surveyed the mountain of Pinoy treats on the cart ... everything from prepackaged dried mango and dilis to homemade crinkles (chocolate, ube, and buko pandan), peanut brittle, pastillas, and SILVANAS. I picked out three items: Ube Crinkles: Good! My white partner loved them too. Would def buy again. Toasted Pastillas: They hit the spot for the moment, but tbh no pastillas de leche in the States beat the fresh kind made from kalabaw milk that you get at home. Silvanas: Also hit the spot for the moment, but they were kind of dry .. I compare silvanas to the gold standard of House of Silvanas from my childhood and these were just OK. I'm happy to support a local Pinoy small business so I'll try different things next time :) read more

Purple & Pink Frostings started out as a home based baking project. We do custom cakes for any occasion such as weddings and birthday events. Since then, we ventured into and specialized in all sorts of baked goods. Over the years, we have perfected a product that brought us back to our childhood years, the Silvanas. Our Silvanas are made with high grade ingredients and loads of cashews. Over time, we have been known to be the Silvanas Capital of LA. Restrooms have a number code and was very clean too. It's opened fairly late at 10 PM which is pretty nice. There's not much out here that can measure up to Chagee time wise and tea wise, so it's fulfilling an ecological niche for this area. You can always order from the front, or you can download the Chagee app and rack up points on that and pick up from the counter. Didn't take too long for my drink to come out, nor did it take too long for my friend's. Out of morbid curiosity, I got something I usually would never get, the CHAGEE Daydream. Awful mistake, not going to lie. Like any other special drink you get at other tea places, you can't make too many customizations or changes (at least not in the app), so you can only get this large and the sweetness is either normal or less sweet. No option to take out the whipped cream, change the amount of caramel drizzle, etc. This drinks is essentially an oolong milk tea and caramel Frappuccino. Sounds like it might be good right? Unfortunately, even at less sweet, it was way sweeter than its Starbucks counterpart. To the point where I couldn't finish it and it's living in our fridge as a sweetener for my brother's black coffee and my friend almost gagged (held back due to the amount of people in the cafe). Like, I get it, maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but a place can truly be an amazing S tier tea place if I can throw a dart on the board, order anything and have it be super good. At least they have a lot of very nice, quality looking merchandise.

I visited Pugon today with high hopes for their siomai, having craved it for days. Being a Filipino-owned establishment, I expected an authentic experience, complete with chili oil, calamansi, and soy sauce. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment. The siomai arrived without calamansi, and it lacked freshness. It tasted like it had been frozen and poorly reheated, giving off the impression that it had been sitting out for some time. After finishing the siomai, I began to experience gastrointestinal distress, including multiple episodes of vomiting and severe abdominal pain. It was clear that the siomai was the cause, as it was the only food I had consumed today. The symptoms were acute and distressing, leaving me in considerable pain. While the ube pandesal was decent, the pan de coco tasted stale, and the coconut filling seemed spoiled. My overall experience was disheartening, and I deeply regret my choice. read more
