There's like 3 businesses in Rodeo X and clearly this is the crowd favorite (unless people don't want beer super early on a Sunday brunch/lunch). Plenty of parking in the plaza since it's huge, but it can get quite busy (mostly looks like people for Starbucks and the grocery store though). Rodeo X was mostly empty when I went, hopefully it picks up because man that was sad to see. Maybe food halls weren't the answer to the economy (looking at you Haven City and Blossom Market Hall amongst others). Anyways, there were 2 families there and another person ordering to go and they all had food from Shootz. Really says a lot about how it's a crowd favorite. There was no line when I ordered and they called my name to pick up my order fairly quickly. I believe they have an app, or the very least you can order ahead of time for pick up. For my lunch, I got the: 1) Mint Peach Limeade: -No ice or sweetness adjustments, I got it as is and it's from an ever flowing machine at the front next to the register. Similar to those machines that cycle through lemonade at Hot Dog on a Stick. Got this immediately. -Not bad. Like slightly milky sweet peach drink with a subtle mint after taste. Pretty unique, the reason why I immediately resonated with wanting to order it. 2) Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken: -I got this spicy. -Comes with 2 decently sized cut slabs of chicken katsu. Super juicy, deliciously crisp exterior. Covered in their signature kimchi butter all over the chicken and their rice. It was to the point where I JUST picked it up and some was already coagulating on the edge of the to go box. -Mega indicator of how rich and indulgent, and likely not healthy for you but delicious as a fried food treat once in awhile. -Generous portions of crisp green onions and furikake on top. -Each bite was rich and delicious. Usually rice is just a carb to help with the savory and salty intake of a protein, but it was also made really addicting with the kimchi butter. There's a slight kick from the spice, but nothing substantial. Some of that spicy powder was also on top of the mac salad (also rich and delicious). -Easily lots of butter, mayo, etc. used so of course it's going to be mega good. I had to stop myself from inhaling the dish so I can take some back for my family to try too. Good stuff, I'd definitely come back, probably with others, hopefully at a closer location to try more of their menu (it's limited but they're super good at what they do) and eat more of their deliciously decadent and filling food. read more

The good: The best katsu chicken I've ever had!! (They also have shrimp but I haven't tried it). The sauce is great and the rice is perfect. Large portions. The cashiers and workers are nice, work hard, and the food comes out fast. It seems like most of their business is online ordering for pick up. Everything behind the counter and in the kitchen was spotless. The not-so good: The restaurant is located inside a food court and there are no signs outside the building that name the restaurants that are inside. We had to turn on Maps to find the location. I'm not sure if the tables inside are cleaned by the individual restaurants or are cleaned by a food court employee... but we had to check for sticky tables when trying to find a seat. The Mac salad has tuna in it. It's not to my liking but my husband really enjoyed it. I highly recommend splitting a combo plate(s) with your favorite person and try to avoid leftovers. The reheated katsu and rice just isn't the same as when it's fresh.... Saw this spot on Instagram and had to check it out. Shootz didn't disappoint, but it also didn't totally blow me away. I ordered the spicy shrimp plate, a spicy mixed plate, and the two chicken sando combo, which came with a spam brûlée musubi shot. Everything was pretty solid and flavorful. You can tell they do what they do well. That said, the menu is pretty limited. Most items are just variations of the same thing--chicken sandwich, chicken plate, or shrimp plate--so there's not a ton of variety. Because of that, it all kind of blends together. It's located inside a food court, which makes it super casual and easy to stop by, and parking is plentiful, which is always a plus. My son and I were looking for something to eat when he recommended Shootz in Ontario Ranch. I had never been there before, but it was nearby, and he assured me that the food was good--so I decided to give it a try. The only challenge was finding the restaurant because it is nestled inside another building, and since I had never been there before, I wasn't sure where to go. However, the food was definitely worth finding. If you enjoy Ono Hawaiian BBQ or other restaurants with a similar style of food, I think you will enjoy Shootz. I'm not sure whether it is officially considered Hawaiian barbecue, but whatever you call it, the food is very good. I would definitely recommend this spot if you're in the Ontario Ranch area. Your favorite Yelp correspondent and occasional Uber Eats driver found himself in the northeast corner of Ontario after ferrying a Mediterranean meal from my hometown of Diamond Bar to Ontario when my attention was riveted by the "Kra Z Kai's Laotian BBQ" signage alight on the building. Upon entering into the communal dining hall, I discovered that Kra Z Kai's apparently shuttered a month ago. I immediately noticed the long queue snaking its way to the register at Shootz. Though I was crestfallen about Kra Z Kai's closure, I decided to roll the dice -shootz my luck, if you'll pardon my brutal pun- and try out Shootz. I tabbed the best looking item on their pictorial menu- Their much balkyhooed Kimchi Buttered Katsu Chicken Combo, which comes with spicy Mac Salad and steamed rice tossed with green onions and furikake, a popular Nipponese seasoning comprised of minced dried seaweed (nori), sesame seeds and salt/pepper. The moneymaker dish is excellent. The katsu chicken has a nice but not overly crunchy exterior, drenched in a flavorful, Umani-rich sauce made of kimchi butter. Shootz has locations in Ontario, Whittier and Stanton, so I don't know when I'll have it again...but if I I find myself in Ontario again, then I'll definitely take -you guessed it- another shot. read more

Lines and wait time can be unpredictable since they cook things to order and the place can get busy. If you want something different, give this a try. It was prepared and delivered in just a few minutes, hot, and fresh. The flavors were delicious and the portions were huge. Could definitely feed more than four. Been wanting to try this place. I ordered the spicy katsu chicken sando. It was pretty good. The bread wasn't soggy (I did eat it immediately though) the Mac salad was good. And the chicken was decently crispy. It was a decent price too. Not expensive at all. I also tried the mint peach limeade and it was refreshing. What I mean is that since their katsu plates are deep fried and are smothered with sauce, you gotta eat them once they are served.... sooner rather than later... The katsu 's breading is on point. The meat is moist and juicy as well. Their claim to fame is their special sauce. The kimchi butter. Honestly though, the sauce is addicting but the flavor of kimchi isn't overpowering nor really present. It's pretty light .... They also have that spam musubi .... classic with a twist as they add a sweet sauce on top.... They also have their katsu as a sando version. A quick and easier meal compared to one on rice. I was able to try their mango green tea. It reminded me of that grade school mango juice that i would get as a kid in the Philippines. It was sold in those old school foil packs. 10/10:) Alright im obsessed. Stumbled upon this place out of no where. The katsu sando was good and very filling. While its pretty decent, the spam musubi is the dish to get here. They are the most well known for it and theres a good reason for it. The musubi is sweet and salty but also creamy. Its perfect for a little snack on the go or an actual meal if you order the 4 piece. The cashiers are super sweet, they allowed us to get a refill of the lemonade (id recommend the green one, its very refreshing). Lastly the building that the restaurant is in is very new and super clean. i could see how the location could boom in popularity in the near future as theres a new community being built here so look out for that.
