Came here for the funnest salsa class of all time: Benito Bowl pregame!…read more We were so excited to come here for SuperBowl Sunday and do the BaiLe InOLviDaBLe salsa on 2 all levels choreography workshop set. We spent 1.5 hours warming up, getting used to the flow, learning beginner level salsa, even Suzy Q salsa step. I've danced salsa for so many years but never actually took an adult dance class just for fun. It was the perfect date with my favorite +1 and such a fun way to do something different and learn something new with zero pressure. Kathryn was amazing and she made it so easy to learn. We had a full house and everyone was so fun to dance with no matter the skill set or experience, everyone was welcome. Absolutely love the revamped studio and how big and full of light the room is. There are so many classes on their schedule and so many fun things to try for adults only. Great space where no one takes themselves too seriously and you can come learn and have fun. Can't wait to do another fun class here again!

I want to get strong now to prevent any of that happening in my future and I am so glad I decided to try some classes. I am currently taking Zumba Gold and Tai Chi and really loving both. I have absolutely noticed how my legs have gotten stronger and I feel more confident walking with improved posture and balance. Molly Roffman, the owner and instructor at StepWISEnow, is a physical therapist. She is so knowledgable about balance and fall risk and gives talks to medical professionals about its importance. Molly is an excellent and patient instructor. Her enthusiasm is infectious and when we're doing Zumba Gold, it's so much fun, you don't even feel like you're working out. Tai Chi class has made me stronger and feel so graceful, which is something new for me. If you have been thinking about your balance or have friends or relatives you might be concerned about, you need to come here. It's a warm, comforting and supportive place. I enjoy most learning tai chi which is amazing when practiced 2+ times a week, improving balance, improving strength. It's very calming, especially doing it in a group! And Molly is a wonderful instructor who offers a deep yet practical knowledge and makes it accessible to all. I started last spring because of some osteoarthritis and feel so much better, my pain is much much less, and I move better, too. If you are over 55, check this studio in Ossining out! Lots of class offereings -- line dancing, chair yoga, zumba gold that gets your heart pumping, etc. Honestly, I'm so happy it's in my neighborhood!

I recently went back with my son and a friend for opening weekend. It was a low-key visit, but I was reminded how lovely the grounds are. I finally got to walk through the Rosen House--it's full of charm and history. The Sunken Garden was especially calm and relaxing. We had just been to NYBG, and while Caramoor is smaller, it's just as scenic and serene in its own way. Hoping to come back soon for a concert at the Rosen House--it seems like the perfect place to enjoy live music.

Mine for the last almost 30 yrs has been wanting to see Oumou Sangaré live. I couldn't help but feel like the luckiest fan on the planet when I scored $88 tickets a head for our 8pm concert and got watery eyes listening to her here- at the elegant Caramoor on a soupy Saturday. From what I've noticed, Caramoor always brings a top-notch and epic line-up covering a wide variety of genres as was the case with Malian Oumou Sangaré at this venue. On Girdle Road in Katonah, don't drive too swift otherwise you'll miss Caramoor's two stone pillars by the entrance. After that, you'll enter a lush, garden oasis leading to their elegantly lit driving path with white small bulbs. We'd gotten here 5 minutes late and were told to park anywhere we saw a spot and went with that. Thank you! Caramoor's grounds give off a truly cozy feel. There's even more than enough lawn space to grab a blanket or fold-up chair to chill out and listen to the music since the stage isn't far off- if that's what you want to do. With the weather being so unpredictable this summer and getting downpours we should've gotten in the Spring, it was great Oumou Sangaré played underneath an elaborate tent. I will mention though, I wasn't marveling at Caramoor's sound system. While I could make out which songs she was singing- the overall sound was terrible. The bigger picture is that I saw one of my favorite African singers of all time. Two, it says a lot that Caramoor strives to deliver a unique and global experience. To back this up, Angelique Kidjo also played here. While this is my first time visiting Caramoor, this is one experience I'll never forget.
