I had the misfortune of having to go into this pulse urgent care center for a drug and TB test for my job. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And don't get me wrong the people in there are nice but CARELESS.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They ended up losing my urine sample and didn't even call me to let me know. I show up to there establishment a week later because I had a weird feeling and then they tell me that they lost my urine sample and that I have to retake it. I am very displeased. UPDATE: pulse urgent care center then decided to send me a bill for my TB test. When I was filling out my paperwork in the lobby I gave them a paper stating that my test would be covered by job. They're all Qwack's, including their Office Staff & Mgr!!! My sister went here and was diagnosed with Bronchitis, an Ear infection & an Abscessed tooth. We had a horrific experience with this urgent care. Called at 8am and was told they could get us in and out before 930am (as I stressed we had another appointment). Showed up at 8:15am, filled out the paperwork and presented them with my son's insurance cards and my ID, I didn't get my cards back until 10:30am or so (still in the waiting room). Wasn't called back until at least 11am for triage. Finally saw the DR and she tried to tell us due to the numbness and tingling in the injured arm we needed to go the ER instead. After nearly a 3 hour wait that wasn't happening and they provided xrays and then advised there was nothing broken, don't use it (but didn't provide or advise use of a sling), and to see his pediatrician if it didn't improve and ask for a referral for an orthopedic surgeon. They didn't show me the xrays that were taken and just gave me a disk. I looked at them and I'm not a doctor but something looked off. We finally left at 12pm. I was able to secure an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon for the next morning and guess what? We were advised the xrays that were done at Pulse were unacceptable and showed them nothing, therefore they had to be redone with additional views of his other shoulder due to some bone abnormalities found in the original images. Low and behold my son has a fractured proximal humerus and needs to be in a sling for the next 8-12 weeks with a follow-up in 4 weeks with repeat xrays to ensure it is healing correctly. Had we not seen the orthopedic surgeon my son would be walking around with a fractured arm that could have required surgery had he fallen on it. read more

Attention employers & employees, If you have another option I advise you to pursue it. Skip to the last 2 paragraphs if you want to skip over the c/s experience. I came to this clinic 10/19 for a pre employment physical, TDAP & drug screen. To start, I got a bad taste in my mouth at check in. The young lady at the front desk was extremely short with me & got confused & flustered when I informed her that I did not need a mask fit test. She did not think I would be able to be seen if I didn't get it (because it was on my form) so she had to check with her supervisors. I finally agreed to do it just to get the ball rolling though that added to the STACK of forms I was given to fill out. Later, the other receptionist & someone from the back confirmed w me that I did NOT have to take it. The other receptionist was much friendlier & seemed experienced. The two women that facilitated my drug screen, TDAP & physical were awesome. The PA that conducted my physical was awesome as well. Unfortunately, my employment has been delayed because my company did not receive the results on time. I called multiple times to find out why the results weren't in and I was told they could not give me any information because my company paid for it. I left multiple messages with the manager Joy, I believe, who has not called me back & it has been almost a month! I left a msg with at least another manager or supervisor, (Karen I believe), and did not hear back. These folks RARELY answer the phone which could be due to staffing. The only time they miraculously answered is when I called to schedule the appointment... I will be escalating this matter to HHS as it is nearing 30 days & Pulse personnel has refused to provide my medical records to me. My husband had a severe eczema outbreak and we chose Pulse Urgent Care because our GP retired recently and he had to get seen immediately. We are so happy we Chose Pulse Urgent Care for a number of reasons. 1. They saw my husband the same day 2. Our out of pocket was very minimal they did not nickel and dime the procedure 3. The provider listened to my husband and found the right medication which is hard because he has a rare form of Eczema that costs more than $400 (after insur) for one tube and its no longer made recently. The provider prescribed an alternative topical that cost significantly less and it actually worked. That alone in itself is the reason we would continue to chose Pulse Urgent Care. We were visiting family in Redding when my husband got sick with a terrible cough and cold symptoms. After 12 days he wasn't getting any better. I went on line and found Pulse Urgent Care. They had great reviews I was able on go online and make an appointment for the next morning at 8:30 am. We were greeted by very nice and competent staff members. Verry easy check in. We waited about 20 minutes and were taken into an examine room. The medical assistant was very nice and again competent. The PA was great! Being a retired RN from Emergency Room at a hospital, I know good care. They sent the prescriptions to our chosen pharmacy and with a 15 minute drive, the pharmacy had 3 RXs when we arrived. I didn't have to wait long to be seen and the PA was really great, a little Asian gal who seemed to listen to me and was helpful with suggestions. So last week I started getting a cough. By monday, it had turned into full fledged bronchitis. So, Off to google land I go. I only see two places in town I've tried before. Those places make a county hospital seem like 5 star places. The other two places in town have front office people that make me think they're having a VERY bad day and their tampon is behind their ear & They can't find their pen! PULSE... Opposite story.... 1st happy vote goes to UBER friendly front office staff 2nd happy vote goes to VERY clean waiting room 3rd happy vote goes to a very short waiting time 4th vote goes to having a doctor who LISTENS to you and says "well, based on what you're saying, I'd believe you have Bronchitis. Here's an Rx for a Zpack. Take them and feel better. I didn't get the "Smoking is bad mmkay?" I didn't get the "Hey dude, you're 20 lbs overweight", or any other soap box garbage I'm used to getting. While my main Doc is in Red Bluff, this is my doctors office away from home and I'll never go to either of the two other places in town ever again!! SUPER DUPER 2 thumbs up for these guys and gals! worst place ever... waited in exam room over and hour in ther clothes. they finally did x-ray before i even saw doctor to discuss my issues. then doctor came in and didn't even get close enough to see my issue. (swollen knee) comment on my athletic build and that i needed to hydrate more. not even asking me how much water i drink. i ask her how and she said "even potatoe chips, life savers and water) .... really. then she wrote me a prescription for prednisone, muscle relaxers and ibuprofen. never even told me what the prednisone was for. (never took by the way). then gave me a list of doctors if i needed one. which i already have if she would have looked in her file. i went on wednesday, they finally called me back the following monday with xray results. the person couldn't even explain what they meant when i asked questions. she said i would have to call doctor to consult. the place is just there to bill you for as many things as possible for there company to make money. when you get to the point that you just need to be seen asap and can't get into your doctor or don't have one, you are at your low. so, this palce just takes advantage of it. never to return...o and by the way. they are closed on mondays because they don't have a doctor. wow read more

The absolute ridiculousness of having no pt data backup and losing 2 years worth of all pts medical records due to a server crash is inexcusable. I have been a nurse for 22 years. I have been through the entire spectrum from paper charting to transitioning to electronic medical records. Every hospital I have ever worked in backs up their records periodically. Also I believe that Pulse had a responsibility to contact their pts to inform them that their records were lost. I also feel that they should provide the vaccines that my 12-year-old daughter is going to have to receive again because of their EMR incompetence. I will be looking into whatever state organization accredits them to inform them that this clinic not only lost the medical records for countless pts but did not even bother to inform them. Dr. Musselman and the Staff at Pulse are excellent in providing acute care for minor injury or illness. My family and me use this place all the time when our regular doc is booked up. I appreciate the time and effort that the Doctor takes with his patients. He is very thoughtful and has excellent bedside manor. Without going into specifics, he correctly diagnosed a medical issue that other physicians had missed. I highly recommend Pulse Urgent Care. Just turn your hearing aids down when you call, because the receptionist is always at a volume of 110%. read more

I have used Pulse for most of my care since my PCP fired me as a patient because I could and would not do Chemo and radiation for my cancer. I've always had low energy and stamina since an early childhood inoculation that changed my life. I can not afford to lose any more energy or stamina, period, barely make some days productive. Dr M and Dr L have been so very helpful and considerate. They have ordered Ultra Sounds when needed and lab work. They have been compassionate and caring every time I have gone. The waiting time can be cumbersome and sometimes annoying, but since they don't do appointments, it is understandable. When I have been very ill, I've been taken to a separate exam room and checked. Last time they sent me to SRMC and after CT, ER said the cancer had spread to my spine and pelvis. Still, no oncology staff will take me cause of the chemo and radiation refusal, but that is my choice. All I ask is monitoring, and they won't do it. Thankfully, Dr Musselman and Dr Leu are compassionate enough to cover me. They have my deepest thanks. read more

They were very rude and unprofessional. I went in for a physical for work, and asked to use the bathroom, they had told me "okay we will have someone out in just a second to help you" 45 minutes go by and I'm still waiting. They call my name for the bathroom and say "since you said it was an emergency you can go back there" I replied with "clearly it wasn't much of an emergency. I replied it as a joke with a laugh. I went back to the bathroom and as I was closing the door she goes "remember to use the cup". I was confused as they did not let me know I needed to give a urine sample. I got frustrated yes so I told them, "why do I need to pee in a cup" she said "you can refuse it" I told her that's what I was doing due to not being made aware. Another work came up and said "what's the issue?" The first one responded with "she's refusing to use a cup" the Second Lady then replied with "does she want to use a bag?" and started laughing. I looked at them both and said "no I'd rather use a toilet" She called her supervisor as I was using the bathroom and she pulled me aside saying "if your going to be rude to my staff you can leave" I went to ask a question and she said " don't cut me off just leave!" I said okay and then I asked "am I supposed to make a new appointment or no?" She said she didn't care. I have to go back for my appointment still because it's for work and I hope they will all be having a better day then. read more

I sort of mangled the end of my right middle finger in a tractor incident. After trying to get 3 or 4 Urgent Care Clinics to see me by phone, we got Pulse, and they said "Come right in". The Staff there are RockStars, got me back into the treatment room, before my Wife had even finished filling out the new Patient Paperwork. There is nothing URGENT about this place. I was sent here for an employment physical which is the only reason I drove 90 minutes from my home. I came in for a simple TB test read today. At my clinic this takes less than 5 minutes. At this clinic, I waited 1 hr 15 mins. That's the same amount of time it'll take (five or take) to get home. That's 4.5 hrs for a TB test read. I would have given one star due to Dr. Musselman, however, the staff was kind and caring. I was 6 weeks postpartum with a blood pressure of 160s/112 at home on a weekday after my regular MD office closing hours. I was seen by Dr. Musselman for all of 2 minutes during which visit he belittled my concerns about how high my blood pressure was and informed me that I was to follow up with my OBGYN and that I'd "likely have to stop lactating". He would not discuss possible medications that could allow me to continue breastfeeding my newborn and simply shrugged off my probable need to discontinue breastfeeding with no empathy whatsoever. He ordered no medications that evening and sent me home with a blood pressure of 150/107 taken at the clinic. Fortunately, I'm an RN and monitored my BP at home after giving myself an extra dose of medicine (prescribed to me by my OBGYN) that I had at home. I would not recommend Dr. Musselman to anyone, not even to care for my family dog. He belittled my concerns and basically made me feel small and unheard. read more

Worst experience with urgent care. My son was running a temperature and had diarrhea, so I took him to pulse because it was the only place open after 6. The doctor that saw him. Hanh cline PA told me he had an ear infection, and that's why he had diarrhea. Then gave him amoxicillin. I'm only writing this to call out an incompetent doctor. Ear infections don't cause diarrhea. I only found this out after getting a second opinion at a real doctors office. Because he had a bad reaction to amoxicillin he never needed in the first place!!!! No medicines but I guess I could just buy those by myself since it says just tylenol and some ibuprofen. Dr. Gave me a dr's note to be off for the rest of the day only but I was I was telling him and his DUMBO assistants that I can't even walk right because of the pain. This people has got no care whatsoever to the patients! They don't understand that my job consist of getting up the ladder wiring up at ceilings and that's how I almost fell! You guys expect me to go back to work the next day!!!!!!! Really?!!! UPDATE: We ended up going to this urgent care in san jose today (Urgent Care Clinic physicians medical urgent care) and it took awhile as well but I didn't mind it at all because at least the Dr. that saw me took her time to check my bruisings and she gave me a shot "Tdap" for tetanus to prevent it and actually gaved me 2 prescriptions one is BACITRACIN ointment and 1 is Clindamycin for infections. Also gaved me a dr's note to be off work until mon! So this basically just shows how much I was taken care of here in san jose and taken care of from redding Dr. so pls if you so care about yourself DO NOT EVEN GO HERE! Thank you DR. INES MUNOZ LABORDE for taking good care of me and taking your time to check on my brusings and for giving me time off work and for writing a prescriptions for me to take that is very very important than just telling me to take damn tylenol and ibuprofen. read more

Went in for a kidney infection and was treated quickly. Stacy was my medical assistant and she was AMAZING!! She came into the exam room and saw I was in pain and she immediately went to get the doctor and some pain meds for me. She was thorough and really nice! I had to get a series of 6 shots in 2 days and I'm scared of needles and she talked me through it the whole way. Dr. Lui is also amazing. He listened to me and explained the drugs I would be getting. Would highly recommend as a clinic and would VERY HIGHLY recommend Stacy! She knows what she is doing and just takes charge which was such a relief for me. read more

This clinic is a fresh breath of air for Redding. This place puts all the other clinics to shame. I first went seven months ago for a pilonidal cyst excession. This process required me to return everyday for a week for a dressing change. Usually, I wouldn't feel excited or great about it but the staff seriously changed that mood. They welcomed me with open arms, they knew my name, and not once were they in a bad mood. I ended up missing them once I got consulted for surgery at SRMC. I was also able to meet all the doctors (Musselman, Bradshaw) and the nurse practitioner, Deb Wright. She was my favorite! Seven months later, my family physician slowly bailed on me, so I decided that the best thing was to find a new "doctor". Pulse signed me in right away for what I needed that my old doctor postponed for over a month. Deb Wright signed me as one of her primary physicians. She always makes you feel comfortable and she makes you and your health a priority. She also takes urgent care patients so if you go in and she's on duty, you're in for a treat and results that you need to hear for your health and your mood. In addition, this place is super clean! I would just go here. Don't bother looking anywhere else. All the doctors and staff are great! read more

Diagnosed and prescriptions written, they even faxes the Rx to the pharmacy so that it would be ready by the time we went to pick them up. My husband checked in to Pulse at about 7:10 PM on a Saturday night (they close at 8 PM). Staff said because it was after 7 PM and he'd never been seen there before, they wouldn't see or treat him. We've taken our children there in the past, and he has dual medical coverage. Not only that, he frequents the clinic through the course of his employment (paramedic). Shame on you, Pulse. Every appointment I've had with them they were at least 45 mins late so if you have to go here for anything, plan on wasting half of your day. I can't say enough good things about our experience here. We were on the second day of a long road trip when my 14 yr old had severe stomach pain and vomiting. Took him in to Pulse Urgent Care Center and was taken back in 15 minutes. Saw a wonderful nurse who was thorough and competent with his care. The DR.we had was AMAZING. My son has autism which can complicate things. The dr. Was great with him and we had labs drawn on site within minutes and was referred to ultrasound which we got into immediately as well.
