    Attention employers & employees, If you have another option I advise you to pursue it. Skip to the last 2 paragraphs if you want to skip over the c/s experience. I came to this clinic 10/19 for a pre employment physical, TDAP & drug screen. To start, I got a bad taste in my mouth at check in. The young lady at the front desk was extremely short with me & got confused & flustered when I informed her that I did not need a mask fit test. She did not think I would be able to be seen if I didn't get it (because it was on my form) so she had to check with her supervisors. I finally agreed to do it just to get the ball rolling though that added to the STACK of forms I was given to fill out. Later, the other receptionist & someone from the back confirmed w me that I did NOT have to take it. The other receptionist was much friendlier & seemed experienced. The two women that facilitated my drug screen, TDAP & physical were awesome. The PA that conducted my physical was awesome as well. Unfortunately, my employment has been delayed because my company did not receive the results on time. I called multiple times to find out why the results weren't in and I was told they could not give me any information because my company paid for it. I left multiple messages with the manager Joy, I believe, who has not called me back & it has been almost a month! I left a msg with at least another manager or supervisor, (Karen I believe), and did not hear back. These folks RARELY answer the phone which could be due to staffing. The only time they miraculously answered is when I called to schedule the appointment... I will be escalating this matter to HHS as it is nearing 30 days & Pulse personnel has refused to provide my medical records to me. Diana & someone I believe named Thias informed me that they were not allowed to give it to me. Good luck!

    Went in a few weeks ago for a sports injury and had a different experience than my original. Everyone was professional, friendly and the place seemed much more clean. I didn't have to wait long to be seen and the PA was really great, a little Asian gal who seemed to listen to me and was helpful with suggestions. I'll be going back to Pulse Urgent Care and I'm happy with my overall visit.

She listens attentively and lets you get your questions and concerns out without making you feel rushed. She takes the time to answer any and all my questions never making me feel like I'm asking too many or I need to hurry up. She always explains why a certain medication will work better than another and not only that she's just very kind and compassionate. It makes me feel like I'm always in good hands. Also, I would like to say that Prestige urgent care is awesome. Anytime I've called the receptionist at the front desk have always answered my questions or if I had a question for my doctor, they gave the message to the doctor and got back to me just like they said they would. The medical assistance that have called me back to answer questions have all been nothing but wonderful. For this reason, I decided to join the monthly membership. I feel like I have a place I can go and take care of all my health needs in one spot, which is really nice. I've been to all the most urgent cares in Redding and I'm not trying to say anything bad about the other ones but for me and what I experienced I just feel like there's no comparison. They are more organized and efficient and have always provided top-notch Excellent care.

I will go to Hilltop medical next time and save 75$.... the front desk staff said they are shortstaffed of doctors... Either way, I am glad I dont pay 1000$ a year for a membership to still wait just as long as a walk in clinic for much cheaper. Very dissapointing

    This clinic effectively refused to see a burn victim because he was from out of town…read more My friend sustained a bad burn at a gas station checking his engine. We drove to three different urgent cares (all closed) before calling Hilltop and making sure they were open. They told us to fill out an online form and that a nurse could help him triage from the car (because we were from out of town they didn't want us to enter). However, when we arrived, they changed their tune, saying they "may not" be able to see him and that they would have to decide. After begging a rude receptionist over the phone who ignored my friend's pain and made his urgent need for help about her ("I'm sorry sir I do t know who you spoke to before but you don't need to take it out on me!") Someone came out and told us to take pictures of the burn and email them, and they *may* be able to see him in 2 hours. Keep in mind he has a bad burn and is in need of immediate treatment. We decided to leave and seek help at a pharmacy instead. Who knew you could get better help for free from the staff at CVS inside Target than the people at a an urgent care clinic... The website says the 5 physicians started this clinic to help patients with minor emergencies. Looks like they strayed from the path. We were treated like second class citizens here. If your care needs are urgent, I urge you to reconsider seeking help from Hilltop.

My surgeon said he can't do as many surgeries in a day at this hospital compared to the other one in town. At the other one, patients are pushed through a lot faster -which he likes - but he understood that from the patient's perspective it's probably better not to be ran through as quickly.     Quality of care!! My…read morehusband suffered a stroke in Dec. 2025 and was admitted to ICU. He remained in ICU for over a month, overly sedated & restrained for unreasonable purposes. Why would someone overly sedated with horse tranquilizers need restraints??!!! He did not receive proper hygiene, hydration or mouthcare which resulted in bed sores and severe dehydration!!! I also noticed bruising on arms and inner thighs which have been documented & photographed for legal purposes!! After enduring my husband's treatment or better words, lack of appropriate care, I demanded him be discharged and transferred to Accute Rehab-SAC immediately! There he received dignified care & treatment. His recovery much improved tremendously!! TO BE CONTINUED...

They double checked that he had no pericardial effusion with the CT scan, and after antibiotics, he still had a lingering cough three weeks later, so we went back in. Professional, competent, kind, thorough... intake staff, nurses, and "Dr. Tom." Were able to rest easy knowing things are not getting worse with the multiple tests. And he came home with a set of medications that are going to help ease his pain, which is the best thing we can do right now for sure. This is probably our third or fourth visit to the hospital over the last five months. And this performance by the staff has been consistent. Making these testimonials easy to write. What baffles me are the extremely negative comments others have left about the staff. I know my three or four experiences are anecdotal, but I've had different staff and different doctors every single time, and geez, just a great group of people from our perspective.

    I had an MRI at Shasta Regional Medical Center on 4/8 and was required to pay $1,583.49 upfront…read morebased on the hospital's estimate. My insurance later processed the claim and determined my actual patient responsibility was $325 -- meaning the estimate was nearly five times what I actually owed. Although hospital staff have acknowledged the overpayment, confirmed receipt of the insurance payment on 4/14, and stated that the refund was approved and sent to corporate processing, I still have not received my refund or even an estimated timeline more than a month later (it is now 5/19). I made four calls regarding the refund (4/16, 4/20, 4/28, and 5/7), and only reached someone in billing once (on 4/20 when I was told to wait another week and call back). I left voicemail messages during the other three calls, none of which were ever returned. I also visited the hospital in person on 5/1 and spoke with the Patient Access Supervisor, Amy, who confirmed my insurance paid them on 4/14 and that my refund had been approved. On 5/8, after again being unable to get responses from billing, I contacted the hospital switchboard and asked to speak with someone in a financial supervisor role since the billing office was not returning calls. During that conversation, Mai told me that the refund had been approved and sent to corporate, but when I asked for any estimate of when I could expect my money, I was repeatedly told only that "it's a process." By 5/19, after more than a month without resolution, I finally involved my insurance company. The insurance representative, Rose, also attempted twice to reach the billing office directly, left a voicemail message requesting a callback, and was unable to reach anyone. My insurance company has now opened a formal grievance regarding the situation. In an additional attempt to escalate the issue, I sent a detailed written complaint to the corporate "info@primehealthcare.com" email address publicly listed on Prime Healthcare's website 9n 5/21 and addressed it to the Patient Experience Department. Five days later, on 5/26, I finally received an automated rejection notice stating that outside senders are not permitted to send emails to that address. It is honestly hard to imagine a more perfect example of the communication problems I have experienced throughout this entire process: even the publicly listed corporate "info@" email address is apparently incapable of receiving emails from actual patients. My frustration is not simply about the refund itself, but about the lack of communication, transparency, responsiveness, and accountability after being required to pay such a large estimate upfront in good faith. After this experience, I will never again feel comfortable paying large upfront estimates for services at Shasta Regional Medical Center.
